I've been so excited to review Cure! This is one of my top 3 favorite restaurants in town and dare I say it - my favorite of the good luck family chain of restaurants I love the ambiance - unlike good look it is a bit more cozy. I love sitting at the bar, the bartenders are very fun to talk to! Let's talk drinks - so many options and the menu is so unique! they have a shaken, still, and bubbly option, something for everyone. I think some of them can be non alcoholic if you ask :) the drinks are always impressive, I've never been disappointed the food menu is perfect for sharing. It's French inspired cuisine so it is definitely meat heavy. My favorite dishes are below: the bahn mi is sooo good, the sauce is creamy and the bread from Flour city is perfectly crunchy The beef tartare is such a great portion and under 20 bucks!! Most places charge a lot more for it. If raw meat is not your thing then I'd avoid it but I'd give it a chance if you're adventurous. And finally the amazing steak - medium rare, juicy, perfectly salted. The fries are super addicting. Not dry at all. They have a good house sauce to dip it in (akin to good luck). Overall this is a AMAZING place with such an inspired drink and food menu. I'm already thinking about my next venture to Cure :)

I had the beef and biscuits which was a great balance of hearty meat/carbs with some veggies thrown in. The biscuits were crispy outside and soft inside which was perfect. I'd definitely get this dish again! My friend had the crème brûlée toast which was actually crisp on top like a real crème brûlée. Super tasty. The only thing is that it was a bit too mushy inside for my liking. Good service. Would def come back for brunch.

A small intimate restaurant. Staff is friendly and warm. They have a lovely cocktail program and a compact wine selection. A few things.. the food is good, not great. Sorry not sorry. The Charcuterie is worth getting and ask for extra bread. I believe it's from Flour City. Mussels and Frites are tasty but I wished the sauce/liquor had a little more flavor. Fries are good but I find them to be a little too dark for my liking as if they were fried hard. The Steak Frites like the mussels they should be shared, it's a lot to eat on your own. It was tasty but the sauce or was it compound butter was a bit of a salt bomb. We got for dessert the chocolate mousse last time it was really good. The presentation was lazy it was in a juice glass. The mouse was not firm it was as if it had been sitting out for a while. The idea of adding the salted caramel although fun made it dare I say runny?! We brought a bottle of our own and the corkage fee was $20 and rather affordable. All in all as long as my friend was happy it was her birthday and her pick. When I made a reservation and let them know it was for a birthday. No acknowledgement of it.. I get it sometimes things get lost in the shuffle but this was for a friend and her first visit. All I can say for an update it was good not great. It's in the public market area and plenty of parking.

I've never been here for food. Only had cocktails here over the years. Which, by the way are amazing! Decided to finally have dinner here, and it was amazing. Everything we tried was great. Can't say anything bad about any of the dishes. The chicken was my favorite.

Stopped in for brunch and I am looking forward to going back soon. Small, sunlit, and cozy location within the public market with simple parking in the surrounding lots. Excellent and reasonably priced brunch cocktails available. They serve java's coffee which is always great. My husband got the beef with biscuits with wonderful flavorful beef short rib and perfectly poached eggs with rosemary biscuits. The beef was perfect, it would've been a great dish with just beef and poached eggs, but the rosemary in the biscuit was very complimentary. I had the Royale with cheese. A juicy burger with over easy egg with lovely camembert and caramelized onion served with side of watermelon - very refreshing. We planned to split some of the apple pie waffle and bring some home, but it was so perfect we practically licked the plate. The apple pie waffle is a must get, tastes just how described. Very pleasant staff, highly recommend!

Romance is in the air! Came here for dinner, and it was easily one of the most romantic settings I've ever been to. Tucked away on the far side of the public market, Cure is home to "locally sourced French-farm cuisine." Its outside walls are covered with some of the beautiful murals that give Rochester so much character. FOOD: Foie gras-bone marrow toast 5/5: The perfect consistency of light, buttery, and creaminess. Generously spread on top of freshly baked bread. The contrasting textures tasted as satisfying as it pleased aesthetically. Spaghetti provencal 4/5: Came with tomato, olives, and anchovy. Such a simple but lovely dish. The tomatoes provided a subtle acidity that balanced the strong flavors from the olives and anchovies. Roasted zucchini 3/5: Decent, but the portion was much smaller than expected. The combination of sausage with feta and mint tasted unique and delicious. However, the tomato sauce was lackluster and didn't do much to elevate the dish. The cutest place for a date night or nice dinner with friends. Beware of the bees if you're sitting outside!

Brunch at Cure is exceptional, perhaps the best of the many places we've been in Rochester over the years. Service is top-notch. Ambiance and attention to detail are stellar. Cure is just such a charming, special place. I really recommend reservations on Sundays. I am thankful we had them, as the restaurant filled up quickly and we were the first diners to arrive today. I had the lemon ricotta pancakes with blueberry syrup and they were among the best I have ever had anywhere in my 47 years. They were outstanding - fresh, fluffy & oh so flavorful. My husband had the Boudin Benedict with a side of potatoes and he devoured it all. My one minor complaint? My coffee was served in a paper cup. I am not going to knock a star off because of it, but I would much prefer a mug.

Nice intimate place for dinner or brunch. The quality of food is not bad. However, it's too pricey and the portion is small for the price. The place doesn't look very clean. The bathroom is right there by the kitchen and it's not very appealing. Friendly staff that answered all our questions.

My martini was perfectly mixed and ice cold! The food was phenomenal as well. I enjoyed the lobster risotto appetizer, chicken thigh with polenta and a delicious and complex mole sauce, and butterscotch pot de crème for dessert. The bar was bustling when I arrived, but quieted towards the end of the evening. The restaurant has high ceilings and an upscale but comfortable feel. I really have to say - for the most part, the wait was worth it. First and foremost, I have to call out their drink menu - while ultimately we came to enjoy a nice dinner, their cocktails were by far the biggest star of the show, with our entrees trailing very closely behind. If you like to partake in alcoholic beverages, I can say without a doubt these are the best cocktails I've had in Rochester, let alone all of Western NY, and this is even put up against drinks from the likes of Cure, Bitter Honey, and Avvino. I don't know if the bartender is just using higher quality spirits as a result of REDD being an upscale restaurant, but the "Burn after Reading", "Wise Guy", and Manhattan are some of the smoothest, most delicious, multi-noted drinks I've had in my entire life. If I don't come back for the food, I will absolutely be back for the drinks, because my goodness, abso-freaking-lutely phenomenal. My friends and I still talk about them now even weeks later. For our entrees we had the NY strip steak, grilled chicken, and a poached salmon, and every single piece of protein was cooked just perfectly. The steak was a beautiful warm medium rare, the chicken was glistening with succulent juiciness, and the poached salmon which I had for my main is one of the softest pieces of fish I've had in my life. It beautifully flaked away on a bed of potato puree and extremely well herbed and seasoned home fry-like potatoes that were ever-so-slightly just-undercooked intentionally to act as a perfect foil to the gorgeously soft puree and salmon itself. If I were to knock anything at all, the winter squash, turnip, and green vegetable medley that came with the chicken and steak was unfortunately far too undercooked for my liking, almost to the point of being completely raw, and while I appreciate letting vegetables sing and respect the beauty of raw, fresh vegetables, I was hoping for a little bit more of chef-y flair, seasoning, or even cooking of them. Besides that, the wait staff was simply top tier and were extremely inviting throughout the entire evening. We felt taken care of and checked up on often and they were the utmost professional. The only thing that was a true negative was the desserts -- if there's one thing I would NEVER order at REDD again, unfortunately our dessert missed the mark entirely. My best guess is due to lack of a pastry chef, but our chocolate tart was muddy and flavorless, not even tasting of chocolate, and the two homemade ice creams we tried - chocolate, and oatmeal followed in suit. We ultimately wrapped up at REDD but then ran down to Char Steak & Grill at the Strathallan for what ended up being a phenomenal dessert experience there. But overall, I have to say - I will definitely be back! The entrees were awesome, the cocktails were life-changing, and the ambience and wait staff were without fault. Thank you for a wonderful experience, REDD, and see you again soon!

The server was friendly. The bad: they were woefully understaffed. It seems like there was one server for the entire restaurant including two large parties. Ours was one of those parties. It took at least another 30 minutes to get half of our drinks, another 15 to get the other half, and another 30 to get appetizers. When our main dishes came out, some were not very hot, the crab fried rice was missing crab, but the rest of the dishes were good. After appetizers, dinner and dessert we left the restaurant about 2.5 hours after arriving. I'd try this restaurant again because the food and drinks were good but it's probably best to go with a smaller party.

The menu is different than other places, it goes from small to large plates and you order what you want and if you want more- keep ordering. My daughter got a flight of white wines and I got one of their beers, which was an interesting hazy IPA called Baby Kittens. Our waiter Philip was very knowledgeable on the wine selection and helped with the food order. We started out with the Flour City bread, which was toasted and had a dip of whipped ricotta with butternut squash - excellent! Next, we had the salt and pepper squid - their version of a fried calamari appetizer - also excellent with a nice little spice that snuck up on you a little bit. We followed that with the farm salad, which had a great cranberry vinaigrette. Then we had mussels which were over a jasmine rice that had a great sauce with it. The last dinner item we had was the butternut squash ravioli - so tasty! The table next to us got the fries, which was a huge mound of french fries with Parmesan cheese and I think something else on it. It was a lot of food. The waiter suggested their desserts, which was a choice of a huge slice of carrot cake or a skillet baked chocolate chip cookie or brownie topped with vanilla ice cream. We got the latter and it was excellent. The atmosphere was very subdued and great for a date or just a fun night out. I highly recommend visiting Carnegie Cellars!

Unfortunately, it turned into one of the worst restaurant experiences. We spent 2.5 hours total at the restaurant. After waiting an excessive amount of time, we watched two tables that arrived at least an hour after us receive their food first. When we politely asked if our ticket might have been missed, we were told those tables ordered before us, which simply wasn't true. We were then told the delay was because burgers take a long time but a nearly two-hour wait for a burger is pretty wild. It took about 25 minutes just for someone to take our drink order, and we were never asked if we wanted additional drinks. We had to flag staff down for everything. No ketchup, no hot sauce, nothing offered. The $30 mimosa flight served in tiny glasses also felt like a complete scam. When the food finally came, two people in our party were served 15-20 minutes before the other two, and the food was cold. One dish had completely raw eggs. When I let the server know I couldn't eat it, she came back and removed the meal from the bill, which was appreciated. However, the interaction itself felt tense and dismissive, which made an already frustrating experience worse. They did give us a round of breakfast shots to try to help pass the time which was appreciated. The food itself was disappointing overall. The breakfast burrito was basically all eggs with raw, bitter avocado, and my husband's burger was missing requested toppings. We also noticed food sitting in the service window while we continued waiting. The only person who was happy with their meal got the biggie fries an it was hot when it arrived. To make matters worse, the bathroom was unheated on an 18° day (feels like 2°) and not clean. We're a pretty chill, patient group and understand that kitchens get backed up but man, this experience completely missed the mark. Ironically, the cooks thanked us for our patience and servers said goodbye pleasantly on the way out. We honestly may have let a lot of this go if the service hadn't felt so dismissive when we calmly raised concerns.
