Back in October, while home visiting my family and friends, some friends of mine and myself went to a haunted hayride in Williamson. Before we went there we went to dinner and stopped into Mama Lors Nice little restaurant. Kind of a random location too, but for some reason I liked where it was. Liked the outside of it. Reminded me of like restaurants in old ass buildings down in Staten Island. Spent a lot of time down in the city as a kid (family there) and lots of time on Staten Island. We'd always go to Italian restaurants there (even tho we are all Irish lol). This place kind of reminded me of those restaurants. I know, random thoughts to share, but that's immediately what I thought when I pulled up. It's NOT an Italian restaurant tho. It's American food. Burgers, salads, chicken dinners etc. Food was actually really good. Not too crazy overpriced like majority of restaurants these days...like ones that charge $15 for a plain waffle or something and the waffle is next level basic af. At least I'm not bitter lol But yeah, food was very good. The garlic bread...delicious. I have yet to find garlic bread tho that I don't like. Waitress was suuuuuper nice. Every employee we encountered was very nice. Place is big. Plenty of seating and you're not right on top of each other either. There is outdoor seating as well...pretty sure it was closed when we were there? Could be wrong. However, knowing what the weather right now is like back there...yeah, safe to say outdoor seating closed for the season lol. Restaurant is very clean. Nice floors lol. Random again, but I noticed that the second I walked in. I had neverrrr heard of this place until my friend suggested it. She lives in Chile so she's more familiar with the Rochester area. And Williamson, honestly, I forgot that city/town even existed lol. I didn't do any exploring there tho. The restaurant which is actually in Webster and then we headed to the hayride in Williamson...like 10 mins away. Nice place. I'd 100% go again. I'd also for sure recommend it to anyone..especially if they're looking for a nice restaurant that's not insanely expensive and has a really nice atmosphere AND is in a historic building. Ok so maybe in NY, it's not classified as a "historic building" bc most places in NY are historic. I live in Boise, Idaho tho. We have historic buildings here, but NOTHING like NY has. We sat at the bar for Sunday brunch. The restaurant was very busy and we didnt have time to wait list. Our server Spencer was excellent. The trash plate breakfast skillet was piled high and the burger well seasoned and grilled. I loved the meat sauce and the perfectly baked potatoes. Absolutely love this quant little gem! Food is fabulous and atmosphere is charming! Service is above and beyond with every time I revisit!

We had a great experience at mama Lors cafe. We were with a bug group, 13 of us in total. We did have reservations. Server was very attentive, brought water out to everyone right away, then took drink orders. Considering we had a large group and it was a busy Saturday morning, all of our food came out within 30 minutes and all was warm and fresh. The Buffalo chicken wrap was delicious and so were the fries I added for $2 more. They make their own chips if you prefer those. If you do not like spicy Buffalo sauce I would recommend getting this on the side. My husband got breakfast with hash browns. The hash-browns were thick and almost like they made them in house. Our toddler loved them. We will definitely be back to try different items mama lors has to offer. read more

Happy to find that Mama Lors has a second location given their food has always been a hit in my experiences in Webster. They have a private parking lot, which was pretty full this Sunday brunch hour. The seating area is open and bright. It can get noisy with the buzz of conversations around. Food did not disappoint. My daughter and I both love our eggs benny and we would order them again. The food came out quickly and given how busy it was, it didn't feel like we waited long. We were in and out in about two hours. Looking forward to coming by during the warmer days. read more

First time dining at the new location. It was easy to find, plenty of parking in the back, and a big patio with outdoor seating! The main entrance is in the front of the building, so it may be a trek for some, especially in the winter. There are stairs too, but there may also be a ramp on the other side (sorry not sure) of the stairs. Inside is bright with large windows, lots of seating, a full bar and a few high top tables. The hostess stand is readily available but there is not a lot of room to stand & wait. I could see this being an issue on busy winter nights. There are two gender-neutral restrooms (one person at a time) on the far end of the dining space. We were able to get breakfast or lunch on a Friday at 1pm. We both opted for breakfast. Lindsay was great and got our orders in quickly. ALL of the staff were hustling around - service should not be an issue here. We were seated by the kitchen and all of the food coming out looked and smelled amazing. Hubby had the Texas French Toast with a side of bacon and hot tea. Bacon was a little dry but the toast was great. I had the Bumz Plate Skillet and it was delicious! I did ask for cheddar instead of American cheese, and that request was ignored by the cooks. The meat sauce could be spicier IMHO, but they do have hot sauce if you need it. Neither of our meals were hot, which was surprising. They were not cold, but my guess is they sat for a few minutes before they were brought out to us, but it was a busy Friday. We love the cookies at the other location but Lindsay said they don't have them at this location, or any in-house made desserts. They do have lots of pies, I think from Leo's. And, there is no wood-fired pizza here either, but there are plans to add it sometime in the future. Overall nice meal, clean & bright space, friendly staff and good food. We would return! read more

Fantastic variety of food, but I especially love their mini fish fry. The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff are friendly.

Ordered Friday fish fry at Union Hill location with spuds and cole slaw; after being told by waitress that it was fantastic. After average first 2 bites I noted the fish more toward tail end was foul/smelly and border-line bad. I could not get past the smell and did not eat any more. Additionally the slaw ranked in the worst 5 cole slaws i have ever eaten. Brought up to waitress and they just laughed it off agreeing with my opinion. No discount or replacement offer was even offered and i was with my daughter and did not want to raise a stink (well, a second one after the smelly fish). read more

We went on a Friday night, we have gone there before. And loved the bartender there. He was so friendly and outgoing. So when we got there ,a new bartender we haven't had before [ maybe not new to the establishment]. So we sat at the bar and asked for a drink menu. She said let me get u one after she gave us water. 6,7 minutes later she came up and said u ready to order a drink. We said u were going to give e us a drink menu, she said oh I guess I forgot. She gave us one to share. Maybe 10 minutes goes by and she doesn't come back, mind u there were 6 people at the bar and 1 table occupied Inside. So another waitress came behind the bar and got our order. She was attentive. So we made sure we delt with her. We ordered food. It was just warm,not hot. Asked for our check with the first bartender, but didn't get it. Had to wait for the 2nd bartender with the head bandana to take care of it. Frustrating. But we wont return. First visit to the new Cafe on Lake Road. Did a great job inside compared to the old store! Service was very good and attentive. Unfortunately the food is not up to what we have expected from other trips to Mama Lors in Union Hill. Don't order the pastrami unless you like basically a very dry and slightly charred Ruben, and I'm almost 100% sure the meat was corned beef! My Wife had a great looking and tasting club sandwich, again very dry but with side order of mayonnaise was able to enjoy. Will probably try again in hopes this was a one off due to how busy they were for early afternoon lunch. read more

I finally had a Sunday off (retail life) and we decided to try out the newer location of Mama Lor's, although I've never been to the other location. First thing I love is they take your name and number and text you how long your wait is, which on a Sunday at 11AM, 15 minutes was NOT a bad wait time. We sat in our truck to wait, but they have a small enclosed patio you would wait in as well. We were seated promptly 15 minutes later and my husband ordered a Bloody Mary (he said it was delicious!) and I had a hot chocolate (also delicious.) For eats, I had the cinnamon roll pancakes....I mean, check out the photo! So delicious & not overly sweet. The combination of cinnamon and icing was perfect! I had the short stack with a side of bacon and could not finish it, so naturally my husband helped! He had the pastrami and Swiss omelet with home fries. He is green, so VERY particular with home fries and he was not overly impressed with them, but his omelet made up for it. It was filled with pastrami and Swiss and looked amazing, but not my thing. Super cute and clean space, airy and open. A nice patio area out front for a nice day like today. Servers super friendly. Had the best Buffalo cauliflower "wings" I've ever had, by far. Very good apple pecan blue cheese salad. Only complaint was the boyfriend's steak on his salad was very tough. Otherwise , liked it a lot and will definitely come back. Didn't realize there was a bar inside and interested to see if they decide to stay open a little later and have some live music which would be perfect. read more

We have been loving this new location of Mama Lor's. In fact, as parents of a young kid it's given us back Brunch! We can go for a great hearty breakfast with our three year old and still get a breakfast cocktail or a great beer. They have a great can and draft selection, including Mortalis and Other Half (and for a hazy NEIPA fan that covers me for days). The breakfast menu is solid and even though I usually have eggs, I steal a bite of my little's pancakes and they are outstanding. The pancakes are fluffy and thick with many filling options. The wait is usually short and there is a big outdoor patio for warm days. An added bonus is you can take lake road and enjoy a scenic drive! read more

If you've been to Mama Lor's in Union Hill you can expect the same service and quality. I came here for a weekday lunch and there were about 7 other groups. Service was quick and food was good. I had the French onion soup which really hit the spot because I had the start of a cold. In ordered the turkey melt special, I wish there was an option for a half sandwich with soup because I couldn't eat whole sandwich and it's not really something you can eat as a leftover. That being said, the sandwich was good and huge. It worked out to $50 with tip for 2 drinks, 2 soups and 2 huge sandwiches so not a bad price. read more

I've been here twice this year and the food is exceptional. Had breakfast today. It arrived as ordered, fresh and delish! They smoke their own pastrami and I had their pastrami sandwich several weeks ago. It was outstanding, as I haven't been able to experience that kind of taste and quality since all the old delis closed in the area. As for the staff, they are very friendly, knowledgeable, kind. We had Arlie take care of us today and she was super! All of the people there are outgoing and accomodating. Whether eating inside or on the patio, it's a welcoming place. As far as prices are concerned, for the quality of the food, their offerings are well worth it. Today we had 2 eggs, meat, potatoes and toast for $8. Very reasonable... I was expecting to really love this place , and maybe in time I will, but currently, I can only give 3 stars. Food is fine, pretty much the standard offerings of most area diners, which is why I went here. They are planning on pizza soon also. My issues are with the set up of the place itself. It is a very old building that they renovated at what I'm sure was a considerable cost. That being said, it is extremely crowded with tables being uncomfortably close to each other. I get they want to get as many people seated as possible, but it was awkward sitting so close to other customers. The other thing that annoyed me was that when the door opened, there was a blast of cold air . They need a storm door or some kind of entrance that addresses this. As with any new venture , sometimes it takes a while to work out the kinks, although, maybe others aren't bothered by what I found. I will try them again at some point. read more

I stopped in for a beer and a bite...I sat at the bar and was completely ignored by the older male bartender while 2 other people (young women) walked in after me and got served immediately. The bartender spent ample time paying attention to the 2 younger females while I sat there waiting for at least 5 minutes. He then saw another customer (there were only 5 customers including me at the bar) that came in right after the girls (and after me) and got him a drink as well. He finally got me a drink and gave me a food menu and disappeared for another 10 minutes to talk to the 2 young girls while ignoring everyone else at the bar. I am a Rochester, and with my VPN, this post says San Fran. No way would I be there. Lunch today at the newer Lake Rd location. The building is nice looking and fits the neighborhood well. Inside, it felt like someone unloaded tables and chairs and set them up in an hour inside the open dining space. Not a very warm or charming feel to the inside. It was new construction, and it lacked personality. The entire place was chilly as if the heat was turned way down at night, and the place never heated back up. The bathroom was entirely unheated and maybe 15 degrees cooler than the rest of the chilly place. The menu was simple, mostly having sandwiches, wraps, and paninis. I was in the mood for meatloaf, but they didn't have dinner food of that sort. My sandwich was very good, the roll toasted in a way that made it amusingly tasty. I may go back, but I wouldn't want to take a client there and freeze them out. I have better experiences at the original location. read more
