The ambiance was bustling with energy, and the staff did a great job keeping things at a brisk pace. My partner chose the chicken biscuit and I chose the day's special, a hearty polenta topped with egg. It was SO good, like a warm hug on a rainy day. (Literally!) This review is long so get ready to read along- After a significant time spent on their instagram page looking at their weekly dinner specials and pictures, I finally got the chance to make a reservation tonight for their Indian menu! The staff are amazing. I did not ask for the vegetarian option ahead of time but they were kind enough to make it happen on spot when I asked for it. And what a great job they did with those dishes! They are patient, kind and friendly. Always explain every dish they bring out and answer all your questions and make sure your needs are met. It is indeed not a huge space but when you are having a good experience at an inclusive space that does a neat job at culinary art, I doubt you'd feel like you are crammed into a tiny space. It's definitely cozy and cute. It's not overwhelming. The food and drinks were amazing. 1. For a drink I got their special Mumbai Mule. The name got me hooked and was curious to know what it is. I'd give it a 4/5. 2. I loved their bread selection. There were about five options to choose from. The 13grain bread was a winner for us. 3. I got a cup of tea towards the end of the dinner. 5/5 for the presentation and serving. Extra credit for having my favorite Twinings tea. 4. Now for the food itself, the egg curry with homemade naan was a great start! The egg curry had a heavy coconut base to it reminiscent to a classic kurma you'd find with Parottas in an Indian restaurant or household. Loved the flavors throughout. The naan was crispy and warm. 3.7/5 for this. 5. Kosambari was next. The Atlas twist to the traditional Kosambari was sweet corn and a dressing to the 'salad.' It was very well made but I couldn't ignore the bitter notes from the cucumber. 3/5. So far they have impressed me with a good South Indian representation. 6. We opted for the Cauliflower fry (Vegetarian option instead of the shrimp fry). Served over Raita and topped with pear and raisin chutney this definitely was an interesting flavor journey. The pears were amazing by themselves rather than with the cauliflower. 4/5. Grateful for the staff for being accommodating at the last minute. 7. Butter chicken with basmati rice was next in line. I opted for Paneer as the vegetarian option. The paneer was good but a bit too chewy. The gravy had a good balance of butter and ghee hints. The rice was very fluffy and perfect. The rice:paneer:gravy ratio was pretty good too. 4/5 8. Last touch was the Stonefruit Lassi. This course was what made me want to try Atlas out. Layers of homemade yogurt and peach n plum purée topped with pistachios. The yogurt reminded me a lot about Rasmalai. It had the fermented taste to it too. The purée was great by itself and combined too. Consistency wasn't too bad. 4/5. 9. The lassi came with the Nankhatai biscuit/cookie. I was excited about this 'coz who doesn't love Nankhatai biscuits? It was soft and good however I wasn't a fan of the crumbly texture. Overall this was an amazing refreshing experience. Overall a nice visit to atlas eats and kitchen bake shop! I stopped by for a brunch with two friends on a Saturday morning right as they opened at 10am. And man they were already popping and tables were full within 15 minutes. So if you do want to wait either get there early! The restaurant won't seat your party until all arrive so make sure to all be timely! The park situation is ok, the lot is semi small but there is street parking with is pretty convenient. So for brunch we had a rather limited menu (which can be fine depending on the place). The selection was pretty decent and it had some wild cards which were fun. I tried the kimchi pancakes (also just a note that drove me a little crazy but they spelled kimchi wrong on their menu). I wasn't really sure what to expect but got it anyway. What I got was pretty good (the spicy sauce with the veggies) but I don't really know if the combo was perfect. I felt like it was just a normal pancake with some sauce and veggies. My two friends got the ranchero roll and chicken biscuit both seemed pretty pleased. One thing I was a little sad about was that when we got there and by the time we left most of the baked goods weren't out, so a little bummed as I would have liked to try a few as I know this place has great goodies! Atlas Eats is one of my favorite restaurants in town. This family-run restaurant offers a truly unique and intimate dining experience for its guests. From their Friday & Saturday brunches to their themed prix fixe dinners, the food is amazing. The Kimchee Pancakes are always a good choice for brunch. Their in-house baked breads are also quite delicious. We just visited Atlas Eats this weekend for a NOLA themed dinner and it did not disappoint. The crab cakes and BBQ shrimp were on point. Tried this place for my birthday breakfast, since it has such great reviews! It was in an easy to find plaza on N Clinton, and there is parking in the back! This place is small and quaint, super cute homey feel with world maps and beautiful furnishings! There's about 10 tables, and it had a good stream of customers in and out during our visit on a Friday morning. The staff was super friendly and attentive, brought our drinks promptly and went over the specials. I picked the whole wheat waffle pancakes with real maple sugar. It was to die for! So perfectly cooked. Fluffy, melt in your mouth, real butter on top. My husband enjoyed a few bites too! He settled on the scrambled skillet, which had fresh grape tomattoes and spinach. The egg was so fluffy and perfectly seasoned. It came with a great slice of toast, fresh baked. So delicious! I had a fantastic birthday meal there several years ago that I still think about! The rotating menu is one of the best features, as you can always try something new. Luckily, they have stayed strong through the pandemic. Because the restaurant is small, there is no dining in at this time. However, the take out process is easy. Call in your order during the week, pay over the phone, and pick a time to go get it on a Friday or Saturday. There's a table set up when you arrive, at which an employee asks for your name, and off you go! They can accommodate vegetarians, just let them know when you place your order. You can also order add ons like cookies, bottles of wine, or freshly baked bread. I recently ordered takeout from their Israeli menu, as well as chocolate peanut butter macarons. Enjoyed my final brunch of 2019 here at Atlas and could not have wrapped the year on a higher, tastier note. WOW! So glad we decided to shake up our usual routine and head to the oft packed Atlas. We arrived around 9:30am and seated promptly, but any later than that (especially with any group larger than two) should expect a wait. We ordered coffee and mimosas and settled in. My previous experience with Atlas was at a Yelp event a few years back, so I knew this family owned gem was inventive, ever changing, and in it for the community. I was absolutely floored by how delicious both of our meals were. I ordered the chicken biscuit and Colin went with the kimchi pancakes. The chicken biscuit comes with a light side salad. If anything on the menu says it comes with Atlas boss sauce - order it immediately. This sticky, savory sauce took my day from great to "DON'T TALK TO ME I AM IN CUTLET HEAVEN" so fast I don't even know what happened. Topped with a perfectly prepared sunny egg and I have a new fave brunch dish of all time. My date's kimchi pancakes were light and enhanced by a perfect amount of kick. Our service was prompt and friendly, and coffees stayed filled to the brim all morning. I am forever in love with the team at Atlas and can't wait to swing back sooner rather than later for a baked good. Move it into your regular routine ASAP! read more

Have tried most of the items elsewhere but never had kimchi whole wheat pancakes, so enjoyed seeing something unique. Great ambiance, seem to have regulars and locals. Service was good, relaxed. Well-priced, whereas many places in Rochester that may be considered unique or trendy are overpriced, particularly considering the quality and that they are only unique within Rochester. Unfortunately, the higher prices and ratings can sometimes lead to disappointment, when you sit down to have just pretty good food that's been done better in other cities for many years. In my opinion, Atlas Eats is the best restaurant in Rochester. Food is always delicious and excellently prepared. I also love the theme - going around the globe to prepare menus based on regional cuisine and it's reflected in the decor, which is a nice touch. Baked goods are fantastic. Servers are attentive and seem to share duties to make sure everything is taken care of. For dinner, it is all set menu/prix fixe and I do wish there were a few more vegetarian or non red meat dinners (I do appreciate that they offer vegetarian alternatives, but more intentional vegetarian dinners would be nice) - really that is the only thing that keeps me from going all the time. read more

So I was very fortunate a few years ago to be invited to a special event and taste several samplings from Atlas and they were all phenomenal. It's a very small and cozy restaurant with only about 8 to 10 tables. They are carefully Tetrissed into nooks and crannies along with an eclectic set of decorations. One of my favorite things about Atlas is that they do a brunch on Fridays and Saturdays! The menu options definitely run off the beaten path but are generally well received. The biggest thing missing from the breakfast menu is any type of home fries so they do have a potato salad that was very good. On my previous visit I ordered one of their amazing looking scones and was wonderfully surprised when it was served with a scoop of clotted of cream. I was very excited to return for brunch today and order another, as last time I shared with my wife and today I plan on having my own lol! However I was disappointed when the scone was served by itself and it seemed quite lonely on the plate. I did ask our server if there was a reason why I had got it served with cream last time but not this time. I thought maybe there's only specific days of the week cream was served, last time I came out on Saturday and today's Friday. This server had absolutely no idea and was very unhelpful. Our coffee cups also sadly sat empty while she spent time chatting with one of the other servers and all in all was a bit of a disappointment. I was pleasantly surprised when a woman who seemed to be of some authority, though failed to identify herself, came over to ask how our meal was. I repeated my question to her hoping to get clarification and know where I went wrong so next time I could make sure I came at the appropriate time. She seemed to very much take offense that I wanted cream with my scone and instantly her body language and tone expressed annoyance with my question. I was informed in a strict tone that I should not expect cream with my scone and that I may receive it at the indulgence of the baker or not. She then walked away and did not return. Well I can't say the atmosphere is very inviting but the food was fantastic. Even without the cream this scone was still enjoyable and even though my coffee cup was empty for most of the meal the coffee was good. I ordered the chicken breakfast sandwich that came out on a cheddar biscuit with a side of potato salad, all of which was very enjoyable. The biscuit did seem to be a little stale but that's really nitpicking. I definitely suggest you stop by and give it a try , just know that you don't go for the friendly service. read more

My mom has been raving about this place since they opened, we finally went together and WOW she was so right. The kimchi pancakes were SCRUMPTIOUS. The sweet of the whole wheat (I think?) pancakes mixed with the spicy dragon sauce and poached egg on the top was immaculate. The serving sizes are super solid. One of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. Atlas' philosophy seems to be to cram as many tables into a small space as is humanly possible, and then cram as many human beings as possible into that space. I came there for what I thought would be a quiet casual lunch date, stood there in line waiting for over a half hour, and finally got seated between two shrieking harpies on one side and a crying infant on the other. Noise from the tables was numbing and non-stop. You couldn't speak to the person you were with, you had to shout at the top of your lungs just to be heard. The chairs were cramped, the table space was cramped, and rushing waitresses and shuttling customers were constantly banging into my elbow, knocking food off my plate. To add propaganda to injury, one of the waitresses delivering food (which arrived at a snail's pace) had BLACK LIVES MATTER in block letters on her T-shirt. People can hold any opinion they like, that's fine, but you go to a restaurant to put food in your mouth, not to get politics shoved down your throat. Of course that assumes that restaurant management cares about the customer. This place obviously does not. Was the food good? I honestly don't know--the whole experience was that lousy. Wow. Just wow. I had high expectations for this place, but I had no idea that it would turn out to be the best brunch place ever. I'm talking real deal artisan goodness in a relaxing hole in the wall location, with great service and an atmosphere to die for. This is one of those restaurants that earned its reputation through their own merit and didn't just find a good location and coast like some popular venues. I would compare it to a brunch experience I had when I met up with a friend in San Fran, only I think this one was even better! I had the gravy biscuit meal (the waitress told me that is their most popular one), and my friends had the kimchi pancakes and the Ranchero. All three were superb, and the Kimchi pancakes had a nice healthy aftertaste that I don't typically experience when I go to Korean restaurants. I brought home a macaroon for my wife and she said it was one of the best she ever had (she wouldn't share). Will be back soon! read more

I've been here twice. It's actually easy to spot if you take North Clinton and just pay attention to your left once you enter the residential area. In the summer you'll see outdoor seating maybe that's even easier. There is a small lot behind the building, about 20 spots or less. It is Okay to park across from the lot on the side street. The inside is not big but the big windows make it feel open. It gives you a down-to-earth feeling, nothing fancy or intimidating. I enjoyed the ranchero rolls during my first visit and chicken biscuit this time. The biscuit was flaky and soft. The chicken was a thick piece of juicy breast (I think) with melted cheese on top. The sauce was placed on the side so that it would not sog the biscuit. They also have new specials rolling out just for Saturdays and Sundays every week - watch out for their FB posts! It was thE wife's birthday and she wanted to try something new. After a quick yelp search she found Atlas and they had amazing reviews. Of corse we said we'll be the judge of this place let's go! The location was great far away from 104 but not too far away. Inside was pretty small bbt it looked like there was another area thaT opened up? When you walk in you pass by all the delicious looking baked goods. We were tempted but decided to have a seat and eat. The menu was pretty small with not much of a selection but they had everything you need like pancakes, scrambled eggs, sandwiches and more. I ordered the breakfast scrambler that came with the must beautiful fluffy eggs, tomatoes and spinach with some toast. It was the perfect amount of food. I need more places like this. That tell me how much is enough or else I'll end up eating too much and feeling awful when leaving. My wife's pancakes were amazing as well with real maple syrup. It worth a stop in and it can be on the hipster side but some amazing food will be had nonetheless. We will return for some hanger steaks! read more

This is one of my favorite brunch spots to go to when I visit Rochester! Small, local, and fresh food. I always get the kimchi pancakes and this time I got some macarons, too. Both did not disappoint. They don't take reservations that I know of. First come, first serve. And everyone in the party needs to be present in order to be seated. Since the place is so small, you'll be sitting pretty close to other tables. They have a lot of tables in a small space, which isn't my personal hell, but for some people it may be, so just a warning. The prices are fair, I think. The service is ok. I like to think I'm understanding, since they were super busy on a weekend morning during brunch, but the waiter was kind of on the slower side. It wasn't an issue, though. Overall, though, I think their service is good. Maybe it was just that day. I've always heard good things about their dinner menu and I absolutely love that they do dishes from around the world!
