Babe ($6.95) with added egg (because who has a breakfast sandwich without egg?!), came with chips and a pickle o.O
    Allison H.

I demanded a breakfast sandwich one Sunday morning when I was working and my partner, thankfully, obliged. Upon discovering HFMP was out of English muffins (a travesty), they recovered by patronizing Main St. Cafe. Their selection of The Babe ($6.95) for both of us sounded like an excellent choice - why wouldn't you want three types of meat on your sammie? - but I didn't think the execution held up to the enticement. I'm not sure why it doesn't have egg on it even though it's a breakfast sandwich, but my partner agreed and added it to both of our sandwiches (an upcharge, though I'm not sure how much). The sausage overpowered the ham and bacon, leading me to take it off and eat it separate instead, and the bacon seemed like it was a cheap cut. I liked the sauce and the bagel held up well to the meats. I can get with my breakfast sandwich being accompanied by sides (that's not typical!), but chips and a pickle?? First of all, I hate pickles, so that was a difficulty, but my partner wouldn't have known to say "no pickle" because it's a breakfast sandwich! Anyway, this is a cute spot in town and we live nearby so we likely will be back for a quick breakfast or lunch.

This sets the benchmark experience, not just because of the amazing food, but the it's hard to imagine a burger can be this good. The fries are chunky and seasoned to perfection and the sauce is amazing, as it looks ordinary but there's the wow factor in taste. Very hard to describe and probably impossible to duplicate The burger is amazing. Kind of a course ground meat, grilled to perfection. It is very tasty with texture that sets it apart from anything we have ever had. Oh, and a custom-made brioche bun that fits perfectly. We will be back for dinner. Anxious to explore the rest of the menu! The owner and leadership team have put this all together. Menu, environment, staff and service, it all clicks. The happy hour menu offers something for everyone both drinks and food. The staff is attentive and well versed in ingredients, preparation and options. Really a great experience. Generous pours and portions, so come thirsty and hungry! Hats off to the kitchen staff and team to put it all together. So happy to have a great dining experience spot in a historic building. We booked an online reservation for Saturday night and decided to go early to grab a drink at the bar. They have a nice selection of cocktails to choose from so I got a spritz and my husband got the smoked old fashioned. Both were delicious and we were able to enjoy on the deck since the weather was nice before our dinner time. Once we finished the drinks we went in to be seated. The ambiance is definitely cozy and moody which I loved. We started off ordering the ricotta appetizer which came with grilled bread, whipped ricotta, roasted garlic and grilled lemon. It was fresh and delicious. The only thing I would suggest is having it come with a little bit of flaky sea salt as it slightly lacked salt but overall very simple and delicious! As for entrees we ordered the burger and fries and the octopus appetizer to split everything. We tried to order the pazole verde instead of the octopus but they were out of that entree for the night so that was a bummer! The burger was juicy and I liked the sauce that came on it and with the fries. The octopus was cooked nicely and not too chewy. We ended the night getting another round of drinks and sitting on the deck by the fire table. It was a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back! It is a bit pricey but for a nice date night the quality was worth it. Staff was so friendly and accommodating as well.

Right in the river that goes through Honeoye Falls...or maybe this is Mendon. There is a parking lot close by which I didn't know about so I parked on the street. It's super easy to get to. When you walk in there's a bar and there are two dining rooms, it's not a huge place but there was no wait. My friend and I were seated in the little dining room by the falls. It's very...intimate there are three tables and honestly, I felt like if I spoke at my normal voice level-I'd annoy the other diners. It's cozy...we made friends with the other table., Our server was friendly, she did call us guys though and we clearly not and that kind of grinds my gears a little. I didn't say anything to my friend but she also mentioned the use of the words guys.,it's a little burger bar joint so I know it's informal and that's nitpicky but I feel how I feel. She was on top of filling waters, the food came promptly. She set the check down without asking if we wanted dessert maybe they do t have any...I don't know but that was a missed opportunity. The food was really good. I got pizza logs...they are the same exact pizza logs you get anywhere else. The burger...mmmmm. I got the bacon blue. I asked for crispy bacon a well done burger, no lettuce or tomato. As you can see by my photo-it had lettuce. My order was repeated back to me so that's kitchen's fault. Easy enough to pick off. I would have like more blue cheese dressing...I couldn't tell if it was in there. This isn't the kind of bacon that gets crispy but it was done enough for me. The burgers are thin. Butter toasted roll. It was a nearly great burger! I had cottage cheese as a side and it was extremely 'creamy'...I can't say for sure but I feel like some milk was added to cut costs and stretch it because it was like soup. I wasn't able to each much of it. This place was so close to a five...and if you want a really good burger-this is the place.

Their menu has what you'd expect from a classic diner, prices are cheap, and service is quick! We got the Country Style Eggs and Patty Melt. Both lacked basic seasonings like salt & pepper. If I was rating off the food alone, I'd give it a 3/5. The home fries in the Country Style Eggs could've been crispier and adding hot sauce definitely saved this a bit. The biscuit we got with it was homemade and so delicious. It was warm, buttery, and satisfying. The Patty Melt was a bit dry and desperately needed a sauce. I used ketchup and asked for pickles which helped. The rye bread was surprisingly not dry and grilled nicely with butter. It was definitely a heavy meal but we needed it after a long drive. It's not the kind of place where you'll have an amazing meal but it'll do the job at a super affordable price.
