Babe ($6.95) with added egg (because who has a breakfast sandwich without egg?!), came with chips and a pickle o.O
    Allison H.

I demanded a breakfast sandwich one Sunday morning when I was working and my partner, thankfully, obliged. Upon discovering HFMP was out of English muffins (a travesty), they recovered by patronizing Main St. Cafe. Their selection of The Babe ($6.95) for both of us sounded like an excellent choice - why wouldn't you want three types of meat on your sammie? - but I didn't think the execution held up to the enticement. I'm not sure why it doesn't have egg on it even though it's a breakfast sandwich, but my partner agreed and added it to both of our sandwiches (an upcharge, though I'm not sure how much). The sausage overpowered the ham and bacon, leading me to take it off and eat it separate instead, and the bacon seemed like it was a cheap cut. I liked the sauce and the bagel held up well to the meats. I can get with my breakfast sandwich being accompanied by sides (that's not typical!), but chips and a pickle?? First of all, I hate pickles, so that was a difficulty, but my partner wouldn't have known to say "no pickle" because it's a breakfast sandwich! Anyway, this is a cute spot in town and we live nearby so we likely will be back for a quick breakfast or lunch.

Staff were pretty quick to clean up tables so there was always somewhere to sit down. The Iced Mango Matcha Latte was my favorite, where you can taste a sweet matcha flavor with a hint of mango. All of the desserts looked delicious, but what peaked my interest was the Pistachio Croissant. They warm it up for you, which allows for the croissant to have that flakey crunch to it paired with the pistachio paste.

It looks like has gold accents dripping among a natural wood, white and tile backdrop. Whenever I drive by the parking lot is slammed. I knew this place had to be good. There is almost completely instantly a line and I felt lucky to find a table. It's simply so popular, I don't know if it's large enough. The tables are close so if you're trying to have a private conversation-you won't get it here. There is a variety of seating options. Comfy conversation chairs, a booth banquette with chairs on the other side, chairs and tables, and a bar top along the windows with outside eating for warm sunny days. The cups are a rich brown color with gold probably Arabic writing. The dessert case is filled with sumptuous fruit shaped mousse desserts. The coffee itself is beyond compare. There are boxed games. Things are delivered to your table on wooden trays. It's so elegant. I cannot say enough nice things. The staff is so friendly. I had a Nutella latte and a raspberry dessert. I asked which dessert was best, the lady at the register said the mango. Mango is not my thing but she said next best is raspberry. It's the perfect size. A hard crisp shell, creamy mousse and a perfect raspberry center. I also got a pistachio latte. Both were excellent.

I always like to look for espresso specials and we were not disappointed by the selection. My fiance got The Snug with maple syrup and molasses bitters. I was too afraid to try any drinks with bitters (I hate how it tastes in cocktails) but I took a sip of The Snug and it tasted great, I would definitely try that next time. I had the B.B.L. latte which had banana syrup, it was more on the sweet side but not overly sweet (I would avoid it if you don't enjoy a sweet palate, try a latte with bitters instead!) It was something unique to try and I was happy with my choice. There was also plenty of seating which is always a huge plus in the winter in Rochester. We had no trouble getting a table. I should also note that there was a very limited food selection here -- about 3 baked goods offered. So if you're looking for food and coffee, I would recommend looking elsewhere. Overall I would happily try out Ugly Duck again! I'm curious if they have outdoor seating in the warmer months.

I'm not sure I'd consider this a good place to study, but it's a nice place to catch up with friends or take a pause outside with a good drink on a patio. The seating inside is somewhat limited, but the patio is beautiful. The buildings will provide natural shade in the afternoon. Parking can also be difficult and limited.

We booked an online reservation for Saturday night and decided to go early to grab a drink at the bar. They have a nice selection of cocktails to choose from so I got a spritz and my husband got the smoked old fashioned. Both were delicious and we were able to enjoy on the deck since the weather was nice before our dinner time. Once we finished the drinks we went in to be seated. The ambiance is definitely cozy and moody which I loved. We started off ordering the ricotta appetizer which came with grilled bread, whipped ricotta, roasted garlic and grilled lemon. It was fresh and delicious. The only thing I would suggest is having it come with a little bit of flaky sea salt as it slightly lacked salt but overall very simple and delicious! As for entrees we ordered the burger and fries and the octopus appetizer to split everything. We tried to order the pazole verde instead of the octopus but they were out of that entree for the night so that was a bummer! The burger was juicy and I liked the sauce that came on it and with the fries. The octopus was cooked nicely and not too chewy. We ended the night getting another round of drinks and sitting on the deck by the fire table. It was a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back! It is a bit pricey but for a nice date night the quality was worth it. Staff was so friendly and accommodating as well.
