Such a wonderful little spot! Visited with my grandma and cousins while visiting all the way from California. The food was a bit spendy but the quality was amazing. I got the skillet pancake and it was divine- such a wonderful cornmeal pancake with macerated strawberries and cream cheese. Everyone loved everything they ordered. Great fresh bagels as well. Only disappointing thing to me was the AI generated logo and imagery in the restaurant. There's gotta be some great artists in the area to collaborate with and uplift this little community on the rise!

First time trying this place. It's a cozy place indoor with rustic wood beams and only around 6-8 tables. We still only had to wait for a few minutes for a table. They also have additional seating at 2 bar/counter areas. Our waitress was very attentive and took great care of us. The food was amazing, although on the pricey side for breakfast, but you also aren't getting basic breakfast dishes. Well worth it for a treat or special breakfast. My wife had the Croque Madame and enjoyed it very much. My daughters had the French toast and The B.O.B sans the baguette because she is GF. Both enjoyed the dishes. I had the shrimp and grits with 2 poached eggs. I am a hearty eater and I had a hard time finishing but ultimately made my mom proud. They were delicious. Creamy, cheesy, and packed with flavor. Shrimp was perfectly cooked as were the eggs. Only things I would change; more outdoor seating in good weather as they are limited inside, and GF options. Otherwise we are definitely going back. Take a look at the pics and you will see this is not a diner breakfast. This is a legit culinary experience.

Popped by this morning for breakfast, and I'm so happy we did. I am not exaggerating when I say this is quite possibly the best breakfast I've ever had out at a restaurant. The honey & spice cappuccino was like putting on a robe straight out of the dryer. Amazing flavor combo; a beverage I may have to break my "we have espresso at home" saying for. The homemade hash was excellent. I had to stop myself from inhaling the (perfectly cheesed and seasoned) grits. My breakfast sandwich (The Brook) was prepared in a way that let every ingredient shine, including, and especially, the caramelized onions. My toddler ordered a cinnamon sugar bagel with Tahitian vanilla cream cheese and fresh berries. I was bracing myself for the sugar rush, but I stole a bite and was so pleased with how...thoughtful it was? Not sure how to put this, but it wasn't just "hey let's take our regular recipe and dump cinnamon and sugar in it". It felt like some major thought went into how to make it simultaneously taste complex and simple. So delicious. We got a sample of the cinnamon bread and left with three half loaves Will try the cheddar biscuits next time. A cozy spot with tables and bar seating. I bet snagging a seat near the oven is gonna feel great in the winter. Had a lovely chat with the owners, and we cannot wait till our next visit!

Wow. This was great. Newer place, opened about a month but they are already firing on all cylinders. Spoke to one of the owners and he was super nice, very enthusiastic. Made a couple recommendations. We sat at the counter which was cool because we could see the open kitchen and watch the baker putting loaves into and out of the ovens. The smell of the baking bread was great. Started off the meal with a latte (me) and cappuccino (wifey). Great crafted coffees and the barista added some cute art on top. She got hers with cinnamon and brown sugar, really nice. I got the corned beef hash and she got the country fried steak with biscuits and sausage gravy. Both were fantastic. Huge portions that I wanted to finish but couldn't so we ended up bringing some home. All the food we saw going out looked great. The guy at the counter next to me got the skillet and I'd definitely try that too. Ended up getting some bagels and a baguette to bring home. The baguette was still warm from the oven, and as full as I was I still broke a piece off to eat while it was warm- good decision because it was great. Haven't had the bagels yet but based on everything else I am confident they are going to be fantastic. Parking is a bit sparse and it's not a big joint on the inside, so get there early and don't be afraid if there's a bit of a wait- it's worth it. It was a beautiful fall ride out to Mendon, great way to spend a Sunday morning. We will definitely go back again.

Everything was absolutely delicious! My mom and I came for brunch on a sunday around 1030am and we only waited for seating for about 5min. The place was packed but service and care for customers was amazing. I got a croque madame and my mom got the avocado toast. You can tell everything is fresh and made with care! We also got the honey and spice cappuccino that was so so sooo good. I am so excited to come back and try more menu items :)

A Hidden Gem -- A True 10/10 Culinary Experience! This was our first visit, and what an amazing surprise! The food was absolutely delicious -- every bite felt like a true culinary experience. You can tell there's so much passion and thought behind everything, from the menu to the presentation. We took the time to read their story and how this wonderful place came to be -- it's clear that heart, creativity, and dedication are behind every plate. You know you've arrived somewhere special when you see several customers taking photos of their food before even taking a bite! We ordered the Shrimp and Grits, which was incredible -- rich, flavorful, and a very generous portion (more than my husband could finish!). The Croque Madame was equally delicious, and I couldn't finish mine either. Both dishes were absolutely outstanding. Plus the cheddar biscuit was scrumptious! The coffee was superb, the atmosphere quaint and charming, and every detail felt intentional and thoughtful. We went on a Sunday morning , arrived before 9 AM, which turned out to be perfect timing -- it got much busier after that. It's definitely worth the wait! It was a little chilly inside since it was cold out, but that's easily overlooked given how amazing everything else was. We're pretty critical foodies, and this place easily earns a 10 out of 10 from us. We left completely amazed at how incredible the food and coffee were -- and wishing we lived closer! This spot is truly a hidden gem, and we can't wait to return. Wish we didn't live almost 600 miles away. We will be thinking about this place for long time. Nate & Jenni travel the USA

Staff were pretty quick to clean up tables so there was always somewhere to sit down. The Iced Mango Matcha Latte was my favorite, where you can taste a sweet matcha flavor with a hint of mango. All of the desserts looked delicious, but what peaked my interest was the Pistachio Croissant. They warm it up for you, which allows for the croissant to have that flakey crunch to it paired with the pistachio paste.

There is almost completely instantly a line and I felt lucky to find a table. It's simply so popular, I don't know if it's large enough. The tables are close so if you're trying to have a private conversation-you won't get it here. There is a variety of seating options. Comfy conversation chairs, a booth banquette with chairs on the other side, chairs and tables, and a bar top along the windows with outside eating for warm sunny days. The cups are a rich brown color with gold probably Arabic writing. The dessert case is filled with sumptuous fruit shaped mousse desserts. The coffee itself is beyond compare. There are boxed games. Things are delivered to your table on wooden trays. It's so elegant. I cannot say enough nice things. The staff is so friendly. I had a Nutella latte and a raspberry dessert. I asked which dessert was best, the lady at the register said the mango. Mango is not my thing but she said next best is raspberry. It's the perfect size. A hard crisp shell, creamy mousse and a perfect raspberry center. I also got a pistachio latte. Both were excellent.

I decided I wanted instead to give my money to a local business and have a more interesting coffee experience this morning. So, I went off the Thruway 15 minutes out of my way to try FLCR. As a resident of the Finger Lakes, I'd had their coffee before but it never really made an impression.. So, I was looking forward to the experience. I walked in and there is country music blasting... Not a hipster vibe.:) There was a crowd of old-timers in a corner having their morning klatch, which was great. I love an inviting neighborhood coffee shop, even though this is in a strip mall. I could read the sign that lists roasts available today but the names don't say much about the product, so I asked the counter person what they have available, hoping it'd be obvious that I'm not familiar with their product. She answered by stepping aside so I could read the signs on the coffee pumps. Great! I asked what their lighter blend is. She replied "Lake Blend". So I ordered that. it wasn't until I got myself back on the Thruway that I took my first sip. I have never had a weaker cup of coffee outside of a diner or a hospital situation. Even (especially) a light blend, when brewed properly, should have a flavorful profile and provide a full coffee experience. That should be the expectation at a coffee roaster, right? If I had taken a sip before I pulled out, I think I would've brought it back and requested another flavor. The service was quite impersonal and businesslike and it was obvious the counter person wasn't really clued in. Do ya even drink this stuff? The one saving grace was the medium 16oz cup only cost $1.95. I might have paid twice that for a really good cup, though. I had hoped to add a scone or muffin to my coffee order but the selection was limited, didn't look appetizing, wrapped in plastic film--never a good sign. I will say that the experience is particularly disappointing to me especially because they do roast and wholesale coffee. Why bother roasting when the coffee is made so weak so that the flavor is imperceptible?

I always like to look for espresso specials and we were not disappointed by the selection. My fiance got The Snug with maple syrup and molasses bitters. I was too afraid to try any drinks with bitters (I hate how it tastes in cocktails) but I took a sip of The Snug and it tasted great, I would definitely try that next time. I had the B.B.L. latte which had banana syrup, it was more on the sweet side but not overly sweet (I would avoid it if you don't enjoy a sweet palate, try a latte with bitters instead!) It was something unique to try and I was happy with my choice. There was also plenty of seating which is always a huge plus in the winter in Rochester. We had no trouble getting a table. I should also note that there was a very limited food selection here -- about 3 baked goods offered. So if you're looking for food and coffee, I would recommend looking elsewhere. Overall I would happily try out Ugly Duck again! I'm curious if they have outdoor seating in the warmer months.
