There is a sign on the door stating that if you wanted fast service you had to request it. I wasn't sure what that meant, but soon found out. It was a super crowded place, and the food was good, the only issue was the speed of service. Total of 2 hours elapsed before we received our food. I'm not sure if the kitchen is so small, that it gets backed up or what. I don't understand how one order can trump another just because you say you are in a hurry. Maybe it makes sense to the locals, but not so much to out of towners. The food was good, but I would not go again simply due to the wait. read more

we sat at the counter.... employees kept passing by us continually without acknowledging us. It took 10 minutes for a waitress to ask what we will order. No one's food was on their tables and that should have been clue number one for us to leave..... it took 40+ minutes for our food to arrive after waiting to put in an order. It was our daughter's birthday weekend. We stopped Saturday morning for breakfast. As we walked in we did not get a welcome, but instead were rudely informed that there is no seats, meanwhile if you are familiar with the place, there is overflow seating that was completely empty. The two ladies were again very rude and stated they were not seating out there. One of the ladies turned her back to us and said nothing else. Our family left in shock as we have never been treated so rudely by another place of business in this area. As we sat in the parking lot for a few minutes trying to understand what just happened, another couple walked in and did not come back out. All I can say is I am in disbelief! If you plan to visit this place, please be prepared to be treated like trash. I don't care how good people say their food is, I do not choose to be treated that way. Worst customer service! Unfortunately, you have to give at least 1 star on yelp but they do not even deserve that! read more

I'm very disappointed. My husband and I came here. we wanted some homemade breakfast and soon to find out that we were waiting over 45 minutes for our food to come out. There was a lot of kitchen staff so we didn't understand what was going on. I did not like the fact that when I asked for egg whites, the women said, "Oh no, sorry, we can't do that because they won't have any time to do that." I was like well okay thats fine, but to wait as long as we did was a little bit unacceptable. We decided to pay for our beverages and left the money on the table and walked out. It was even a hassle to just get our check . The owner was trying to pull our order, so we didn't walk out, but it was getting a little bit ridiculous already. If you do decide to come here, you will be waiting roughly 45 mins to an hour and a half. Check out other places around and save your time. read more

My family and I came here many times this summer and every visit was great. The food is fresh and homemade, and the staff are genuine and friendly. Some reviews complain about service, but I think people come in with unrealistic expectations--this isn't fine dining, it's a small local café with amazing food and down-to-earth people. They opened at 8:00 and the lot was filling up. I thought obviously this is going to be a good place. It did not disappoint. The homemade sausage was out of this world. They have a homemade breakfast meatloaf. Not sure what that is but sounds delish. There is a sign on the door that says everything is made to order and it may take awhile so if you are in hurry just be aware. That is true. We were in no hurry so we enjoyed every minute. I am just so confused. I don't know if this was just a bad day, but I cannot fathom all these glowing reviews based on what my experience was this morning. Upon entering we asked for seating for two. We got grunted at and a head nod toward a booth - ok, fine. At 11:40 we were told that breakfast was over and they were only doing lunch. We had come for a late breakfast, but again, fine. The place is only open 8 - 2 - how do they have distinct breakfast and lunch hours? When it takes over half an hour to get any food, how is 3ish hours enough for breakfast? But fine. I asked what the soups were and there was a tomato, and a bean, I ordered a cup of bean and the fried fish sandwich. The girlfriend got a BLT and fries. All sandwiches are supposed to come with chips and a pickle - mine did not come with any chips, and two slices of pickle for the sandwich. I thought about asking for the chips, but frankly, it wouldn't have helped. I can't swear to it, but we're pretty sure we saw them cutting the soup with hot water, but it definitely tasted of pureed beans, hot water, and some scraps of carrot and extra chewy ham. Fries were not salted, and the oil tasted old. The bacon was extra fatty and had an off flavor. The fish was clearly a frozen breaded filet in the same bad oil, and nothing but tartar sauce. Cooked until it was dry as possible. I left 2/3rds uneaten. I didn't want to make myself sick. I really don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, maybe it was just their worst day ever, or they picked up (easily) that we were from out of town? but this was really, really bad. read more

I've been here twice since it's close to where we stay when in the Finger Lakes. It's definitely a hole-in-the-wall local spot. Breakfast is affordable and pretty standard diner fare. But don't go if you're in a rush - in fairness they do have a sign on the door warning you that they take their time to prepare the food and you can expect to wait. Small hole in the wall diner, but really good! Usually are the best places :) A little bit of a wait for the food, but once the food came out it was delish!!! And looked like they were finishing up some renovations in one part of the diner, which made it pretty tiny and not many tables. Staff were really friendly. Also MUST try the hot sauce. We ended up buying a bottle to take home. Prices were also really reasonable and they do accept credit cards. Good parking as well. read more

Solid breakfast option. The diner is quite large, with both indoor and outdoor seating. The homemade bread pudding stood out. Crispy top and melt-in-your-mouth bread custard. Otherwise food is good but standard, portions are large. Go for the chocolate pancakes, and skip the pancake special with homemade jam. Although the jam is good, the pancakes are smothered with jam and far too sweet. 3 stars mainly because the service was painfully slow. I would recommend sitting close to the door or inside for better service. There are only a couple people running the place, and we waited almost 30 minutes before someone came to take our order. In that period of time, several groups sitting inside/closer to the door finished up and had their tables cleared. We also went inside to ask for and pay the bill because we were running short on time. A footnote: they have a beautiful white cat named Summer who walks around freely. We were starving for breakfast so we both ordered a lot. My husband ordered the French toast with eggs and sausage. His side was biscuits and gravy. I ordered pancakes with eggs and sausage. My side was corned beef hash. All the food was brought out promptly and was delicious. I didnt have corned beef hash in awhile ago I ate mine so quickly I almost choked myself haha. The pancakes were fluffy and perfect. The eggs perfectly runny for sunny side up. My husband used the hot sauce (homemade) that was the hottest with some ghost pepper in it. It was actually not as spicy as he thought but was savory and had a good kick to it. Turned out they sold them and we bought a bottle for $5.00. We really enjoyed this diner, homey feel and welcoming to strangers who may not be from this area. There's ample parking in front but we went during this summer of COVID-19 so there weren't too many people around. Perfect! Located near the Red Newt winery. Small, hometown diner with about 4 tables & counter seating. The prices are very reasonable. The staff is friendly & the food is very good. Our server (the owner, Toni) was really nice. The bathroom was clean. Me: Two eggs over medium, sausage, home fries well-done, wheat toast & a cup of coffee. The eggs were cooked exactly as I requested. The sausage was favorable & scratch-made. The toast is also made in-house (came pre-buttered the way I like it). They serve good diner coffee. My wife: The Chili Cheese Omelette. Perfectly cooked/fluffy/not-overstuffed. The chili was very favorable (I think I would eat a bowl of that chili just by itself). Make sure to ask for the homemade hot sauce (the green sauce), it tastes great on the omelette. Also, they give you a small offering of jelly (homemade as well?), the apricot jam was very tasty.
