Either my tastebuds are dulled or there was no cinnamon in the French Toast. The corned beef hash was all potatoes. Scrambled eggs were good, don't get me started on the coffee - so disappointing. Service was good, cheerful, and friendly. Curley's is not a diner, it's a small spot for locals. Saw a lot of Watkins Glenn gear for the NASCAR weekend. Absolutely delicious food, great service, and a nice diner environment. I got the ham & cheese omelet with home fries and wheat toast, all of which were fantastic. I'm not usually a big omelet person but figured I'd go for it and I'm glad I did. It was really, really well made and extremely tasty! Additionally, I got the sausage biscuits and gravy to split with my husband. This was the star of the show; the perfect amount of salty and just overall fantastic. Little mom and pop restaurant.... We came here for breakfast after a long night. It was exactly what we were expecting. Nothing fancy. It is an old-fashioned diner. The prices were great for the main entrees but two small pancakes cost $5, which weren't anything to brag about. My husband got the steaks and eggs which came with a very fatty, low quality steak. Again, what was expected. Coffee was being refilled constantly by the waitress that was being very attentive. It was a quick in and out breakfast experience, nothing too exciting or making me eager to come back but made our tummies full and our bodies cafeinated. read more

In all seriousness, the service was really great. There are lots of generic diner options here. My in-laws lived their meals. My hungover husband said it was "alright." Let me start by saying that Curly's is just a delightful place to sit and have a meal. Parking is in a big lot with an easy in and out off the main road. This is the first time that we stayed in Watkins Glenn for a Finger Lakes trip and Curly's quickly became a favorite. You are cordially greeted as soon as you walk in the door. In light of the current pandemic, they have set up their shop perfectly. They removed center tables and built additional separation between the booth. You are required to wear a mask when you're standing and obviously allowed to remove it once you were seated. Our server came right over to the table to give us menus and water. Always a big smile on her face. (I could clearly see this even with her mask on.). We were there twice, once for dinner and breakfast the following morning. Dinner: Fish Fry: Delicious piece of fried haddock with equally delicious fries. Lemmon-Pepper Chicken: Once breast of chicken cut in half with plenty of seasoning. Helene and I both enjoyed our dinners. Everything was very reasonably priced and the portions were perfect. I noticed a few reviews where people speak about their fries. I will add that they were good... golden brown, slight crush and tender potato. Breakfast: Vegetable omlette and a Mushroom and cheese omelette. Both were well cooked and tasty. Again, everything was priced well. The hash browns are incredible. Make sure you order when your here. I was a little surprised to read some of the negative reviews. I just can not believe that coming here would be anything less than a good experience. I recommend Curly's and suggest you come here if you're in the neighborhood. This is a local-friendly-customer oriented business. I must mention that Courtney who was our waitresses was delightful. It's so nice to be in a shop where they truly appreciate your being there. read more

My friends and I came to Curly's to stop by for lunch. I myself ordered the fish fry, which came with one side (I picked Mac & cheese). The food was standard diner food. There was not much seasoning on the fish fry or the Mac and cheese, so taste wise was fairly bland. The fish fry was perfectly fried though, which made up for the blandness. The servers working in the restaurant were all very friendly and made sure to check up on us during our stay at Curly's. The ambiance of the restaurant overall was friendly, but my friends and I were getting some stares from the locals dining there because we were very clearly visitors. Perhaps most importantly, the BACON was excellent according to four different people who ordered it. It looked like the perfect ratio of crisp to fat. Our server was also SPECTACULAR. She put up with our loud and clumsy ordering (bachelorette party), and I am very grateful for her excellent service. Small final note: Ladies-- I can say from personal experience that people will look at you funny if you use the "gentleman's" (family style) bathroom even if it is empty and there is a line for the women's restroom. My first diner experience! I was here with my friends for brunch. The food wasn't oily or greasy. I ordered a mushroom burger and belgium waffle with strawberries. The waffles were very light, not dense. The strawberries were fresh not frozen. We had to order a second helping, it was soo good! The staff was very friendly and food was served fresh and on time. A super solid local diner with attentive waitresses at Watkins glen that we stopped by during our last day in the finger lakes, right before we would drive for hours on the road. I was really craving a filling American continental breakfast since our hotel did not provide complimentary breakfast and got the 2 eggs with bacon, home fries and white toast! my boyfriend got 4 pancakes with bacon, eggs and home fries and we were both so full afterwards. I came here on a Sunday around 9am. The parking lot was spacious, there's two doors, the first one closest to the front street leads you to the hostess area, the second door located closer to the back makes you have to walk through the dining room to be seated by the hostess. The sign when I walked in through the front said 'seat yourself' and I located a booth towards the back, window side. My server was Courtney, I was quickly given a menu and asked what I wanted to drink. I had just got done hiking in the State Park for three hours and opted for Coffee and water. My coffee was always refilled promptly, and my water glass stayed full. Their menu for breakfast was as basic as they come. They had options ala carte, combos, and offered multiple ways you could do a breakfast sandwich. I opted for the #1, steak, eggs, homefries and toast. My steak was ordered rare, it was perfect, didn't have much flavor, and was soaked in the yolk of one of the eggs that bursted already. Eggs were over easy, and were delicious. I did have to ask for another plate so I could eat my steak. I opted for no homefries and no toast, Courtney mentioned to me that they don't do any substitutions - which I was fine with. I also ordered two extra eggs, and a side of bacon. The bacon was crispy and delicious. Definitely reccomend this place. You could tell that this is a local spot, especially on a Sunday, that's when I went. I would love to come back and check out what they offer for dinner. read more

Five stars for being the very first restaurant I've ever been to that has black pepper grinders on the table! Fresh ground pepper makes such a difference! My partner had the steak and eggs with home fries and sourdough toast. I had the house made corned beef hash. His steak was insanely good; tender, beefy, and perfectly cooked. The potatoes were a cross between scalloped and mashed potatoes with plenty of butter and seasoned salt. Delicious! The sourdough toast actually tasted like sourdough. Stopped here for breakfast before our hike. I had egg, potatoes, and bacon. It was very good. The potatoes were a little oily, but it wasn't offensive. My husband had 2 eggs and French toast. He loved the eggs, but said he wished he had ordered something other than French toast. The bread used he said was like if you bought the cheapest Walmart bread. No substance. There also was hardly any batter. The service was quick and it was reasonably priced. The food came out quick. Restaurant could use some updates.
