Most of the gigantic pancake and it was delicious!!!

Not only was the food delicious and HUGE portions but staff was friendly and fast! Food delivered quickly and one thing to note was that I left the table to use the ladies room and my husband left the table not seeing my wallet there. The owner/person at the register kept a very close eye on the table and let me know when I returned that he made sure it was safe!! I so appreciated it and we chuckled about it! Definitely recommend!!

This is the third edition of the original Steve's. It's menu is true to the original original. Lots to choose from, breakfast and lunch being served all day. Great choice of food, bright, and spacious interior, had a tent of weight staff. Prices are moderate, but portions are large so the value is there. The quality of the food is there too. This is an enduring restaurant, and I'm looking forward to seeing the fourth edition of the original Steve's someday.

My experience here was a bit traumatic but more on that later. When we arrived there was a sign that said please wait to be seated. I didn't realize there was a check in station behind me where people were cashing out until a teen told me. It was packed which I can only imagine is due to the breakfasts but we were there for lunch. After about a 10-15 minute wait we were seated. Not bad. Our server was pleasant but a bit aloof regarding many things. She struggled using her machine to put orders in and on the last order in my party of 3 took out her note pad. My son ordered a burger with a side of poutine. She argued poutine isn't a side. He pointed to poutine listed under sides and I explained he wanted the burger and an order of poutine. She sort of rolled her eyes at me. Our food comes out and the reason I wanted to try here as they were on Rochester's top 25 places to eat. I was immediately deflated at the blah presentation of the food and knew it was going to taste as it looked. Unfortunately on my first bite of the buffalo blue burger the buffalo sauce spice hit the back of my throat and I started coughing. I spit out the food in my mouth into a napkin. I couldn't breathe. I was gasping for breath. My son looked terrified and my husband kept asking me if I needed my son who just finished first aid training for his lifeguard job to do the heimlich. I knew I wasn't choking but I couldn't really breathe or talk. At this point the coughing was over and I was making these god awful gasping noises as my brain raced to figure out what was happening. Choking? No. I don't feel food in my throat or mouth or anywhere. Allergy? Maybe, my throat feels constricted but it isn't typically this sudden and severe (I'm allergic to other foods but not to this extent). Ever heard of laryngospasm? Me neither but it happened to me for the first time ever. The server came over to tell my husband and son that the poutine she forgot to input would be a few more minutes as I'm sitting there gasping for air trying to get more air in and the strangest noises are coming from me. My husband and son staring at me waiting for me to give them the signal that I want help. She doesn't even ask if I'm ok or if I need help. For some reason I think to take a slug of water which goes down smoothly and within seconds I'm back to normal. I cannot express enough how scary it was to not breathe and not understand why. Rating for the lack of server preparedness in an emergency situation or even the ability to understand a situation was happening. My apologies for the harshness but there is no way any person would not have understood if they heard the noises coming out of me which were a definite struggle to breathe. The food was blah. I was so excited to try top notch diner food and unfortunately it 100% fell flat.

Good food, good location, good atmosphere and service, but way over priced food. I haven't been to the original location so I wonder if the prices are the same.

Very attentive and prompt service. Went on a weekend, seated quickly by a friendly server. Was so good, we returned the next day.

Great pancakes, really good service. You may have to wait for a table on the weekends. I also like their omelets.

The BEST waffle that I have ever had…read more I really admire the owner's drive to excel. It is beyond obvious the amount of time he has spent (and spends) cooking to make his already delicious food even more so using only traditional ingredients from Belgium. I also greatly appreciate all of the attention to detail; especially the quality of the fruit even when it's not in season. Thank you. Furthermore, I love that it's a house. It's quaint and brilliant to start small when starting a new venture. All of the staff was kind and gracious. Thank you again. On a separate note...I am utterly disgusted by the amount of negativity and ugliness in some of these reviews. Yes, we are are all entitled to our opinions. However, when you walk through someone else's front door you are entering the heart and soul of them. It is just sad that some have nothing else to do with their time than to just be negative. I, for one cannot fathom how brave and challenging it is to own a restaurant. I wish that some of the gloomy pessimistic unfavorable weak internet bullies would give it a try. Until then stay in your lane! Cheers for these waffles, kindness & grace.

So after making a cash payment i asked for a receipt. Unfortunately Michelle didn't know how to print one.My response was," well with the cost of our bill i am sure the owner will remember us. I will call him in the morning." "No they aren't opened tomorrow", was the response. I am still trying to figure out with 3 people-$10 max per person should have been $30 NOT $97???????? Based on our previous visit I was guessing roughly maybe $40 at best~but $97? I am hoping the owner reads this and forwards a phone call my way. I know there must be some mistake.

We stopped here for brunch a few weeks ago, with hopes that the food would be something close to…read morewhat we had experienced when we were in Istanbul years ago, and we were not disappointed. The majority of the menu is Turkish, and they are using authentic ingredients either imported from Turkey, or from the region. Our food was yummy and very reminiscent of the breakfasts we enjoyed when we were traveling. First, this place is in a strip mall and may not be easy to spot; second it's small, and despite their efforts to jazz up the interior with themed seating areas, it has a very take-out sort of vibe; and third, there are other things on the menu that I'm guessing they offer because of their proximity to RIT, but take my word for it - stick with the Turkish items and you will not be disappointed! Our order included the 'sucuklu yumurta', which is basically eggs with Turkish sausages served in it's own metal pan, plus the bagel plate, and I had the 'tray' (the name of which I cannot remember) which came with hard boiled eggs, fruit, cheese, tea, olives, tomatoes, cucumbers and a roll. It was almost exactly the breakfast we had every morning in Turkey, except the fruit we had there was fresh and here it was a kind of preserve. The portions may seem a little small, but prices are very good, and I would definitely recommend getting more things than you think you need just so you can try more and ensure you will leave satisfied. We are looking forward to going back and eating more of the menu!

Went with husband, on a trip to Lake Canandaigua…read more We both ordered the Yardman breakfast with home fries, onions, and peppers. It also includes 2 strips of bacon, a piece of ham, and a sausage patty. Sounds delicious, but the home fries are not from home, they are likely frozen, and they were way overdone. I couldn't even get my fork into many, and they were so bland. I doused them in ketchup and the "awesome sauce" on the table. No help. The pepper and onions were largely absent.. They were so finely diced, and also overcooked, it was easy to miss. Sausage, bacon, and ham were VERY crispy and a little burnt, but they were still tasty. The eggs were spot on. It came with meat sauce or sausage gravy. Both were very rich. I passed on my meat sauce (too much allspice and/or nutmeg for me). Husband ate his gravy. He said it was sausage forward, with little gravy, but definitely scratch made and good. Full points for that. Coffee was ok, nothing great, a little weak. Now, I will give them credit as we came in at the end of breakfast. So maybe that was it. We got what they had left. The staff was great! I think we missed the mark and should have gone with garbage plates.

Thankfully, they answered the phone and let us know they open at 9:00. The two people working were very nice and went out of their way to whip up a small batch of sausage gravy for me. My husband loved the meat sauce (we don't have anything like this back home). Don't bother with the coffee though-just get a bottled beverage-they have plenty of choices!
