A great local alternative to the big national chains! The rolls are fresh and you have the option of having them lightly buttered and toasted (which you should totally do.) Roast beef is fresh sliced for each sub and the meat, while not as plentiful as some smaller local stores, is more generous than the big chains. Toppings are fresh and generous. I do wish that they had banana peppers however. The store is clean, efficient and pleasantly decorated but nothing really special... And doesn't need to be. I'm a big believer in supporting local and Amiel's makes that easy to do when I'm looking for a quick sandwich or sub. Give them a try. They might not knock your socks off but they will provide a fast and tasty lunch that exceeds taste and value of the national chains. read more

I do like their toasted sub rolls and I used to REALLY love their roast beef- but I have to say the last couple of times I've gone over the last two or three months the roast beef has been dry and hard to eat (asking myself, why am I still going here??). Amiel's has my favorite subs, so when I was driving by here, I had to stop in. I had only been to this location once before, and it was years ago. I came here around 8pm, and there were two people making subs, and one person in front of me. The one girl took my order pretty fast, and she made my sub. The other girl finished with her customer, and it was clear that she could not wait for the other employee to finish my sub so that they could have a conversation. It would not have been a huge deal, but then when I went to cash out, the cashier was taking a phone order. I waited at least 5 minutes for her to get off the phone, which was just weird because I was the only customer in the place at that time. Neither of the other girls offered to take the order or to cash me out, or to help in any way. While I was waiting, I was looking around, and this place is really not being taken care of. The ceiling is this awful shade of yellow, and parts of it look like they're ready to fall off. And behind one of the counters is basically just a junk room of stuff; wet floor signs, extra chairs, boxes, etc. Customers can clearly see it, so they really should put that stuff in a closet or some place that it can't be seen. I love their subs, and the sub was good, but this place is in desperate need of some tlc. It wouldn't surprise me at all if I hear that this location closes when their lease is up. Recently stopped at Amiel's to pick up a sub. Big mistake! The person that waited on us clearly didn't want to be there or make our sub. Never exchanged words other than what was necessary. Got a roast beef out of the refrigerator unwrapped that did not look good, cut it with a knife that was laying out unwashed, used a meat slicer that only God knows when it was last cleaned! There was literally almost no meat on the sub- see photo. Also minimal tomatoes and lettuce. The restaurant was filthy. Floors have not been mopped in a long time. Tables not cleaned off. I didn't take one bite of that sub! Wish I'd never stopped there. Do yourself a favor and go to DiBella's or Wegmans. read more

I have been a fan of Amiel's for years. I stopped into the Victor location to pick up a chic-a-meal. If you don't know, it's a hot sub and the roll is toasted. It includes chopped up chicken breast and whatever toppings you want. I always get cheddar sauce and bbq. They always have soups available as well as chips. Some of my other favorites are the meatball and the tuna subs. Their roast beef is very good, high quality, and sliced fresh to order. Beware that it's usually very rare. I love the beef a miel! It's always delicious and fresh. That said while we were eating in we had ordered fountain pops. We then heard a customer complain about moldy ice in the machine. After that the manager put an out of order sign on the machine. At that point I took it upon myself to return to the front with the two cups of pop and ask for bottles of pop instead. I have just recently visited Amiels since I have one near my house. I always liked their subs but hadn't had one since I moved back to the area. I have, again, found that I still love their subs! I never remember to take pictures Anyway, I really like their tuna and today I'm trying Bernies Favorite who've is smoked Turkey and roast beef. Ordered the biggest size sub there was. Barely any meat or toppings put on the bread. Bread was mediocre because it had no flavor. It was at least soft. The meat tasted like it had been sitting for a very long time. Years ago I used to love Amiels's. Now we will never go here again. The prices were outrageous & the customer service was ok. I googled sub shops nearby ( Victor ) and decided to order here after checking reviews . I usually travel to Wegmans for my subs but decided to try something closer to home. I ordered a jumbo Bernies Favorite( smokehouse turkey/roast beef) on sesame roll to split with the wife and I ( what we usually do with a wegmans sub) . Toppings were limited we went with onions and sweet peppers provolone . Since its called a jumbo I figured it would be enough to share between 2 of us. My expectations of something similar to Wegmans size or Calabresellas ( my fave but not nearby) size subs. Sub was delicious. Sesame bread was fresh . Everything was so good. The only downside for me was not enough meat to even call it a sub .Its a bread sandwhich. The 1st pic down below . If you prefer more bread Amiels subs will work just fine for you . For me I'd prefer to have a regular meat portion and topping variety . So 2 out 5 stars. ****There is an extra meat option for $2.00*** . I get it , its $2 but im not paying an upcharge for it to be a normal size sub. This might be my last and only review for Amiels. Very surprised to find so many mediocre reviews, but on the other hand, also many happy customers. Not living near Victor, I'm obviously not a regular, but Amiel's has been a sure lunch stop once or twice a year for many years, whenever we are in the Eastview Mall area. I love their subs. The rolls are hearty and crunchy, giving your jaw a workout. Perfect! The seeded variety is just loaded with sesames. I never knew about the "lightly toasted and buttered" option until just now reading these reviews. The staff never, ever asked, but I won't take away a star for that disservice. The meats on my favorite Italian Assorted always fresh and the cappicola never fatty. I love the finely shredded lettuce. Their special oil is flavorful. Like DiBellas and Wegmans, they offer 3 sizes: 7, 9 and 14 inches, but not as wide. Service is always efficient and friendly. Reading some of the positive reviews, my next choice will definitely be one of their chicken subs, as they seem to be a unique favorite of many. Subs are absolutely delicious. Amiel's Club is phenomenal, and it will fill you up for sure. Only issue is that the staff is pretty stingy with the ingredients. Watching the employees delicately and precisely put tiny slivers of meat on your sandwich one at a time like they are painting the Sistine Chapel can get kind of ridiculous to watch. It's been a long time since I've had regular access to this place. I stopped in recently for lunch and it hasn't changed much in the last decade, menu and overall place looks exactly the same. The subs are good, but I'm not sure that they are any better than other big local competitor. The service is pretty fast and they churned through the lunch line very quickly. Try chilling it before cooking my toppings to a wilted mess as well as my mayo in to a runny slop. It cost $20 for two 9" subs and drinks. No, never again. Not unless I am eating at Applebee's or TGI Friday's. 50's music is too loud to talk over. The dirt shows through in the ceiling vents, behind napkin dispensers caked in years of food and dust. Okay prices are not wonderful but not horrible. Ordered a large 9 inch Italian assorted sub. 4 different meats at 3 pieces each. Not anywhere enough meat for a $7.39 sub. Very limited in cheese selection and only lettuce, tomato, onion and hot peppers as toppings. The sub once rolled into the paper was very thin and very messy to eat. Spent $19 for 2 subs and one fountain drink. Restaurant itself was dingy but decorated in a 50s/60s style motif. Was not real happy with the back of house visible to customers. With that you need to be extra clean and on top of all food prep areas. It wasn't. Meat was sitting on the deli slicer for who knows how long. Slicer wasn't cleaned after each use. Meat bits and pieces were all over the slicer table. Employees handled cooked meat out of oven with parchment paper used to wrap subs instead if tongs or something else. My friend brought me here special as he enjoyed this place previously. Needless to say this visit didn't live up to previous ones. When you can spend $7.99 for a supermarket sub and get double amounts of meat and toppings this place isn't worth its price read more

I consider this to be one of the better sub shop in the Rochester area. Ingredients are so so compared to others. We mainly come here due to the fresh butter toasted rolls (which are delicious), and my daughter loves the hot peppers here. Service is so-so. The manager, who sometimes makes subs isn't very friendly and there is an older lady making subs at the slowest possible pace. In one instance, she sliced by sub roll with a knife that had tuna all over it. I asked for another roll and a clean knife and she obliged. Amiel's is my favorite sandwich shop in Victor. It's 5 minutes from my office, in Cobblestone Court, across from Eastview Mall. I look for several things in a sub shop, quality of roll, meats, and toppings, consistency, and cleanliness. Amiel's nails it nearly every time, and I have eaten there easily 30 times in the last few years. They bake their rolls fresh on site daily, and that aroma is part of the Amiel's experience. The rolls are a perfect shiny brown outside with chewy white goodness inside. However, lately I have eschewed the wonderful rolls for a wrap to save carbs and cals. Incidentally, they have a lovely toaster conveyor mechanism to warm your roll or wrap...(note: wraps are father sam's, not home made)...if you want to get really crazy, you can even have them butter it. That is sweet if you dont mind the extra calories, and really makes for a decadent sub. I order the exact same thing every visit, small cajun chick-amiel on a wheat wrap. They warm a 12 inch wheat wrap and then place a mound of shredded lettuce, thinly sliced onion , tomato, and a nice 3.5 ounce portion of poached, lightly seasoned chicken breast in the center. Then a healthy dose of their spicy mustard, sliced hot cherry peppers and a shake of their red cajun seasoning. This is a really delicious combination, and very low calorie, about 300, and guaranteed to leave you satisfied...or you could get one of their delicious oatmeal raisin, peanut butter, or chocolate chunk cookies to go with it...not gonna lie, that's usually part of the ritual :-). I love their spicy mustard, it has a wicked shocker horseradish burn that will defoliate your nasal hair if you go too heavy, so be warned. Despite high turnover, they almost always take the extra step of removing the stems and tops from the cherry peppers. It's an awful sensation to bite into when those are left on, so I appreciate their attention to detail. And the tomatoes are always nice, never hard or green, even in January. Dibellas gets most of the love in the ROC, but these guys have quietly been making great sandwiches for a long time, and deserve to be mentioned among the better sub shops in town. Their soups are also great. The white chicken chili is nicely spiced and is loaded with chicken. In summary, an affordable, clean sub shop that serves up great quality food. Even at peak lunch hour, there are enough staff to keep the wait time down to usually less than 5 minutes. read more

I grew up going to the Henrietta location, but now usually frequent Victor just because it's closer to my family. What makes Amiel's the best, you ask?? The bread, the ultra shredded lettuce, the italian dressing, and the quality of the meat. I usually get the Turkey or chicken salad but in recent years the chicken salad has been a little too heavy on the pepper. Try getting the bread buttered and toasted. Yum!
