I always wanted to try it. Today I stopped for lunch. I got the Philly Classic Regular and converted it into a Lunch Special. The steak sandwich was very good, with onions, green peppers and mushrooms and Provolone Cheese. I put a little more salt & pepper on the meat. The cheese really melted. The Combo comes with fries. The fries were pipping hot, everything was cooked to order, they were not crunchy, but soggy although they tasted good. I ate every single one of them. A drink completes the Combo. I noticed it was under new ownership and I was nearby so I called in an order for a cheesesteak for lunch. The first thing I noticed was that the parking lot and inside hadn't changed since I was last there years ago. Both definitely need some upgrades to be inviting. I was getting takeout so I could ignore the facilities. What I didn't know is that they have a lunch special that could include 3 toppings, fries, and a drink for just a bit more than I paid for my sandwich. It was not suggested over the phone. The sandwich was good with the steak chopped and plentiful. The onions and mushrooms were blended in, so probably added flavor but not obvious. Meat hot sauce was there but not worth the add on price. Overall, a good sandwich, but there's better values. read more

Went in here last night for a steak sub. The owners were friendly and made some small talk. They cooked up the steak fresh within 5 minutes. I asked about whether they have sub sauce, or oil, or other dressing that they put on their subs and he pointed me towards a menu that listed prices for different types of sauces, such as steak sauce. Really? We ate inside the place, it's very old throughout--it looks like it should have been bulldozed about 10 years ago. The steak sub had a good amount of steak in it, but plain tasting, and hardly any lettuce or tomato. The sub bun was a cheap airy one, just terrible. For a large sub and Diet Coke it cost us almost $13, far overpriced for what you get. read more

I have gotten food here a couple times in the past and thought it was good. Not this time. Steak sandwich was so greasy the bottom of the bun was soggy. The fries were so greasy they were limp. We tried Philly Steakout since it was relatively close to our hotel. We tried the Philly cheese steak and our kids had chicken strips and fries. The Philly was fairly good. It needed more cheese and a bit more seasoning on the steak, but it really was pretty good. I added a bit of salt to my sandwich which helped it a lot and made it quite good. The fries and onion rings were pretty tasty. We had a takeout order and wish they would have included ketchup and/or ranch for the fries and onion rings. Dad brought me here for lunch and it was surprisingly satisfying. Guys behind the grill are super nice, prices are fair, very hot and fresh. Lots of toppings and sauces to choose from. Vegetarian options, salads, and wraps are also on the menu. Bread is the real winner here though. I love a sub place with fresh, soft bread. The bread here is no exception. This one was delicious, and filling! My fiancée had the philly classic, she felt it was very good, just a little salty for her tastes. The sweet potato fries were pretty standard. Local Flavor contacted them and they still won't comply. Local Flavor can no longer help). They sent me info on a Federal Law that they must comply, now i have to figure out what i need to do next. I have visited this place a few times the past few months, and every time I am thoroughly impressed. The first few times, we would order large chicken and steak subs and they'll make the sub to your exact liking ('shrooms, peppers, onions, several choices of cheeses, banana peppers, tomatoes, lettuce, and a whole bunch of sauces as well). We were absolutely blown away when we ordered them the other night. a) They are battered in some heavenly like batter. b) They are Billy Fuccillo HUUUUUUUUUGE !!! c) The Garlic Parm were AMAZING!!!! d) Their Boss Sauce variation rivals Country Sweet e) However, wings do not come with bleu cheese or celery Everything is reasonable priced. Although not a native of Philly, I spent lots of time during school and have eaten my fare share of cheesesteaks. That said, Philly Steakout is a fairly authentic steak joint with a tasty sandwich offering. Staff were friendly, plenty of seating to eat in or take out. Enough parking available although you may have to go behind the building. It's seems like a locally owned/operated type place not a chain. Prices were reasonable and the preparation was as timely as one can expect for a fresh-grilled hot sandwich. What really stood out to me was the variety of toppings that were available, particularly having many different sauces and even different types of peppers to choose from. Fries came with a little seasoning on them, and I think there was vinegar available as well as ketchup - nice to see the little touches of details even though it's not a "gourmet" restaurant. This place is delicious. I had the original philly w/ cheese whiz and green bell peppers, regular order of fresh cut fries & a Snapple. Food was amazing, hot, fresh & made to order. Place was very clean, ample parking. Only complaint I have is that when you have a 30 minute lunch break and there was 2 people ahead of me after I ordered & the food was made I only had about 5 minutes left. Which is not enough time to eat. I understand made to order takes time. But with only 2 people working & a line piling up it is not a good place to grab a quick lunch unless you call in your order before hand. That is why I am giving it 4 instead of 5 stars. read more

The flavor has changed a little; maybe because of my taste buds was used to the southern cooking-but still. Delicious Philly cheesesteaks! They are huge, and you're going to need a napkins. I went very traditional with shaved beef, grilled onions, peppers, onions, mushrooms and cheese whiz (yes!--- you can choose from several cheese options, btw). So good! The best steak sandwich I have had in years. I usually just get one sandwich and have my 2 kids split it, but in this case they finished and both wanted another...The employees (I think one was the owner) were both friendly and quick on the grill too.
