I came here very randomly on a week night. I felt like getting a garbage plate. They don't have an Impossible one, so I got the grilled cheese one. It was 2 grilled cheeses, and I got French fries and mac salad. I also got an order of fried mac and cheese. I'd never been here. I ordered online, and the order was ready a few minutes early. It was easy to find and easy to park. Parking is in the back, and there was a door at the back. That entrance was a little sketchy with some creepy steps and a carpet that was probably from 1987. The restaurant was fine and looked like your typical hots place. My order was ready and there was a person right there to give it to me. My email also is BSBgirl, and the asked me if that was for Backstreet Boys, which it is! Any place with a BSB fan is a place I like!! My plate was a little cold by the time I got home, which is my fault. I didn't want to heat it up because of the mac salad. But that was good and the fries were good. The grilled cheese was on circular bread that was also good. I'd definitely try it again. The fried mac and cheese was also good. We did a mobile order when we went for the first time. Got there right after a large delivery order, maybe grub hub, so there was a delay because they had to replenish the "fixins". Not sure what because my grandson had gone inside to pickup our order. It only took 10min or so to get our order prepped. My grandson got a cheeseburger plate with Mac salad and fries. It was a large portion that he said was really good. I got a grilled chicken plate which was also good except I would have liked more of their hot sauce. Next time I will order more sauce. I've ordered the same thing twice now and have been very impressed. What's in the photos is exactly what I ordered; a double cheeseburger, plain and dry, with American and cheddar cheese. Wow. Business fail. Normally the garbage plates are pretty good,, I have been ordering from Webster Hots for years. Got home after pick up and no meat hot sauce. Called to notify business, they said was my fault for not SPECIFICALLY asking for hot sauce, ON A GARBAGE PLATE. Not once in all the years ordering from this business, or any other Hots place in the Rochester area, have I needed to ask to have hot sauce added to my plate. A garbage plate which we all know has hot sauce as part of the description. Manager said that this is normal policy and stood by their action, that for years people have needed to ask for the hot sauce if added to the order (nope, not true at all). I realize that I am upset over a missing sauce, but I believe most people reading this, at least the garbage plate eating Rochestarian, will empathize with this. Can you imagine actually getting home, excited about your oh so feel good garbage plate, a staple that generations in this city know intimately, and there's no hot sauce? I placed an online takeout order during the covid pandemic. There is a sign on the door saying that they are not accepting walk-in orders so you have to call ahead. Wait was 40 minutes. Food was ready on time. I had put special instructions in to put the extra meat sauce on the side but they didst. Not a big deal. Be cautious of using that special instruction field. They have a few special plates to highlight. There is a stinger that has shaved beef and chicken fingers. There is also a shaved steak with mozzarella option. The best is the breakfast plate (eggs and bacon). Online ordering showed pickup location as somewhere in a foreign country and the phone number was bogus. I received two emails. Webster Hots is personally my go to place for a garbage plate. Hands down the best plate in Webster. The Mac salad is elite which is what I think makes the difference. The first Garbage Plate that my wife and I had in Rochester was cooked at Webster Hots. Our first visit was very enjoyable and we've been eating Garbage Plates since. The lady was very friendly, helped us pick out what we wanted, cooked and packaged it quickly for take-out. The second visit was not as enjoyable. A teenage girl was working. She talked with some of her friends that came to visit (they did not order food) for 5-10 minutes before taking our order. She did not start our food at the same time (despite both of us ordering on the same ticket). When she finished my wife's meal, she started to cook mine, left the area to go out back, burned the food, threw it away, and cooked it again. By the time my food was cooked, my wife's meal was cold. It took us about 45minutes to get our meal for take-out. This seemed like a long time to wait for our plates since we were the only customers that had ordered food. When we asked for pickles/relish and bread, we were told that they were out. The third time we ordered from Webster Hots was the final time we visited. Another young girl was working (a different girl from our second visit) and she was chatting with friends before taking our order as well. After taking our order, my wife and I sat down at a table and talked while we waited on our food. After about thirty minutes, she called out that our order was ready. I went up to the pick-up counter and stood behind a young man. She handed our order to the young man, he opened the lid, stuck his finger in the food, stirred it around and said, "I ordered a hot dog!" She said, "This isn't your order, it's his (pointing at me)." She took the food from him, closed the lid, and handed it to me. When I opened the lid and showed her that the food had been stirred by the customer in front of me, she replied, "You can just eat around it!" After the last two experiences at Webster Hots, if I want a Garbage Plate, I'll cook them at home or go up the street to Bill Grays. read more

I live right off of Phillips, so I initially visited WH for the convenience. But man, I like this place! I almost exclusively get the trash plate and it always comes well prepared. The restaurant interior is clean, well lit, and always lively. Parking is a bit tricky as you have to park in the back most of the time. Lately, they have been using what seems like middle school kids to run the place late at night and I hope that that changes soon because they are not always the most customer-centric. Another negative is the bread. Most of the times, the bread that comes with the trash plates is stale and it's served in regular Ziploc bags (no butter included). As soon as you walk into the surprisingly large space, Nick welcomed us into the restaurant. We placed our order after asking a few key questions. Nick recommended the Zweigel Plate (white hot preferred) and he couldn't have been more on point. We chose to dine in and Nick called us up to retrieve our order within 15 minutes. The food looked incredible. Everything you would expect from a classic Rochester plate. The homemade mac salad was perfect. The white hots were perfectly charred, sliced lengthwise with crispy skin. The homefries were crispy! Smother your plate with their homemade meaty hot sauce. It's incredible! The atmosphere of the restaurant was relaxed and welcoming. We loved the Ms. PacMan game and their homemade ice cream is the perfect ending to a perfect meal. The cinnamon (firecracker) ice cream is unexpectedly amazing! Being a classic, local place we were impressed with everything they had to offer. Ample parking makes this place convenient and their 3am closing time on the weekends is enticing for a late night post-drinking pick-me-up. We can't wait to go again. read more

The other reviews made me a little hesitant to try this place but we stopped in on a trip from Buffalo to Sterling. We were not disappointed. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My husband, being from Sterling and having lived in Rochester, LOVES a good garbage plate. He got the "zinger"plate which includes steak, buffalo style chicken fingers and mozzarella cheese on top of Mac salad and home fries. He opted to leave off ketchup and mustard with it being a steak and chicken plate and got his meat sauce on the side. I got a chicken plate with chicken fingers, Mac and cheese and French fries, completely sauce free. I also got a hot dog because it's a hots place! Everything was good and came out hot and fresh in about 10-15 minutes. The Mac and cheese was kind of bland but was alright, and my husband said the Mac salad was a little dry but once he covered it in the meat sauce he didn't even notice it anymore. I visited Webster Hots the day after having a plate at the original Nick Tahoe's. Nick's was tastier but also was greasier. The ingredients used didn't feel as quality as Webster Hots. I did feel Webster Hots Mac salad could be creamier and was pretty tasteless but everything else was just amazing. Very clean restaurant, which can't be said of Nicks and the location sure is safer. We ordered 2 hots and a chicken sandwich. When we got our order home, we were missing one hot dog. Called and they didn't know how to take one hot dog charge off our credit card.
