Cute lil sign they use while not wearing masks themselves!
    Mimzy F.

The good news is, everyone working here has a mask. The bad news is, none of them are wearing them and when they are "wearing" them, it's not properly. This is not acceptable given everything that is going on, especially in the area. Many areas of Rochester just entered into the "orange zone" a few days before I visited Hungry's. To see people working at an establishment, knowing a. how small a space they are in, b. how serious things are right now, and c. that they are handling other people's food, and not be taking this seriously is concerning. They all had them off when we walked in (have we not learned Covid is airborne?) and only some cared to put them on when we did. Those that did literally only had them on below their noses which, pro tip, is the same as not wearing a mask. You are not stopping any germs from escaping your body if you are breathing and your nose is exposed. On top of all this, I was so disappointed that the second of two times I was here recently, it took what felt like an eternity for anyone to even acknowledge us, which is crazy when you're already in such a small space. Everyone kept milling about and having their own conversations despite eye contact, to a point where I had to speak up? Not even a greeting. They need to get it together.

My kids favorite place for a plate or a burger... Give the plate Wrap a try it's very tasty and unique. Imagine a garbage plate stuffed in a soft tortilla wrap!!! French fries are on target and cowboy cheeseburger is fabulous.

I stopped in for a much needed plate wrap about one year into the COVID-19 pandemic and was disappointed to see how little they had done to protect both their staff and customers from the spread of the disease. Although the staff were wearing masks, there were no plexiglass barriers in the small space. They had no floor markings or other signage encouraging physical distancing and no hand sanitizer available. I will not return until after I am fully vaccinated.

Hungry's is great. Just provides the best plates you can get in Pittsford as well as other great classics like wraps, hot dogs, and burgers. It's my go-to place for comfort food cravings whenever I'm in town. Obviously, not the kind of place you go to very often though as even a mildly health-conscious adult. But whenever I go, it brings me back to my high school days and just good quality meals. As for basic recommendations beyond the plates, just know that Hungry's small size is indicative of the experience. This isn't the place to come to and order to be served immediately. It takes time, especially if you have them deliver (which I have done at night on probably too many occasions). Plan ahead when you order and be patient. It also doesn't really have places to sit, so you're basically doing takeout.

Lock 32 serves a nice variety of craft beer from local breweries which can be enjoyed while sitting in or near the bar area or outside on the patio, if you order from their outside pouring station. They do not allow beer ordered inside to be taken outside as they serve in beer glass while outside they use plastic cups. I received good service on my visit. Their beer listing on the menu had the variety that I was looking for to get a flight. I enjoy beer flights (wherever available as long as the place has a good variety of beers). If you look at one of my photos of 'The Brews' (menu) for reference, I ordered their #5 (Yankee Leaper), #6 (Berm Side), #7 (Leap 'n Lime), and #9 (No Wake). They were all good in taste and to my liking. My most favorites were the Yankee Leaper and No Wake. The beer flight was reasonably priced. The atmosphere was nice. People were chill and friendly. They had some snacks available for purchase but I think you could bring some food from outside to enjoy with your beer (I saw someone with a box of pizza). I would highly recommend checking out Lock 32 if you happen to be in Erie Canal/ Penfield area. It's enjoyable and relaxing to be there while soaking in nice views (especially during warm weather months).

Our recent experience has changed that. We informed staff of our dissatisfaction at the time and left contact information so the restaurant could follow-up; then mailed Donna a letter explaining why we were dissatisfied; and then followed that up later with email to her. Crickets. So now it's time to post a review: If your party of three likes waiting for your entrees while larger parties around you arrive after you, eat their meals, and leave, this is the place for you! If you like your waiter telling you the food is "coming soon" 30 minutes after the appetizers, and then tracking him down after 50 minutes to ask where your food is, this is the place for you! If you like being told that your meal would be comped as an apology, but have that courtesy overruled by Matt, the bartender, this is the place for you! If you like the bartender telling you that 50 minutes between appetizer and entree isn't a long time, and that you just don't understand how food flows out of the kitchen, this is the place for you! And after all that, if you like being offered a cannoli by way of apology, this is the place for you! As mentioned, we've eaten there many times, so obviously have never experienced anything like this before. We're understanding about busy nights, which this was, and have no problem with a reasonable wait. We do have a problem when a simple order of two shrimp scampi and an eggplant parm is nowhere to be found while diners around us arrive, eat and leave. And we do have a problem when management condescendingly dismisses our dissatisfaction as being uninformed about how a restaurant functions. After that insulting experience, we said we would wait no longer, did not want the meal, and would find our dinner elsewhere. Miraculously, the food came out as we gathered our things to leave, over an hour after the appetizers had arrived. Diners around us undoubtedly found the situation uncomfortable, so as a courtesy to them, after briefly reiterating that we no longer wanted the meal, we decided to accept the order as take-out. Incidentally, the eggplant was good; the shrimp scampi and pasta was poorly prepared, bland and unsalted. We left the cannoli.

I…read morehonestly haven't been here in probably 15 years...and the food is just ass good as I remember it. First off I'm going to say there's definitely an issue where they're signage. There's a huge sign out by the road saying they're open seven days a week but if you pull into the parking lot on a Sunday day or Monday, you're gonna realize that is a lie. The hours are correct online, but we didn't look there because we drove by it on a night. It was open and saw the sign so we figured we would go there and we try to go on a Sunday night. There are two signs on the door, one saying that it's open seven days a week and then another one that says closed on Sundays and Mondays. I think they should get that straightened out. If you have mobility issues, you'll definitely wanna park around the back so you can go up a ramp or it's a flatter surface rather than steps if you park in the front . There's a really cute little outdoor patio to eat with heaters obviously, this time of year it's not quite the right weather for that. The inside hasn't changed there's still the county flags on the walls in the ceiling , there's still the big wooden privacy booth with a little Shamrock on the table underneath. There is a fireplace that's lit when it's appropriate and there's wooden tables in the middle of the dining room. It's not a huge restaurant. There's a really large menu that I feel like it can appeal to everybody's tastes. Honestly this place has the best potato skins I've ever had anywhere and they're just like I remember them from when I was younger. They come with a healthy side of sour cream. They didn't have some specials with candied bacon and so I wanted to try it and I asked if I could get a side. I got two sides of very slimy, grizzly limp, bacon. That was my only complaint. I think that candy bacon should be crispy and if the chef wants me to give him some pointers on how to make candy bacon I'll be happy to share my recipe with him. I also had a tomato basil soup for an appetizer because it sounded so delicious and it was really good. It had a nice texture and it was a sweet tomato basil soup . It was very thick almost like a marinara. Delicious! My dad had the turkey temporary grill. I believe it was. It was a turkey sandwich that came with a side of onion as you and he picked out homemade fries to go with it. Honestly, I was having a little bit of FOMO from not ordering it. It looked really good. I asked about desserts. They only had one dessert and this was on Thursday night. . It was a lemon mascarpone cake and it was really delicious. I don't know why I haven't gone here in so long so when I'm back in town again, this will be on my list !

In town for an 80's party, I was hoping to find some place that wasn't too far from our hotel, was open after we got out of the party at 1AM, and would be able to stuff my starving stomach. Generally this place has a very fast-food place vibe, though the garbage plate market is usually just central to this area. They didn't just have plates on their menu, but a couple of other things like burgers and desserts, but I mean...why would you not want to order a plate? I knew exactly what I wanted when I strolled in, and I ended up with a tasty combo of macaroni salad and french fries, topped with some moderately hot chicken fingers, that good hot meat sauce topping, and a ton of mustard, ketchup, and onions all slathered in there. I love that they hand you your food in a styrofoam take-home container, like they know you're going to bring your artery-clogging intestinal nightmare home with you. It came with a few slices of bread to soak up all the tasty juices in your stomach and some plastic utensils.
