Date night at Grist this past weekend was amazing! Decided to try it out for the first time and so glad we did. We booked an online reservation for Saturday night and decided to go early to grab a drink at the bar. They have a nice selection of cocktails to choose from so I got a spritz and my husband got the smoked old fashioned. Both were delicious and we were able to enjoy on the deck since the weather was nice before our dinner time. Once we finished the drinks we went in to be seated. The ambiance is definitely cozy and moody which I loved. We started off ordering the ricotta appetizer which came with grilled bread, whipped ricotta, roasted garlic and grilled lemon. It was fresh and delicious. The only thing I would suggest is having it come with a little bit of flaky sea salt as it slightly lacked salt but overall very simple and delicious! As for entrees we ordered the burger and fries and the octopus appetizer to split everything. We tried to order the pazole verde instead of the octopus but they were out of that entree for the night so that was a bummer! The burger was juicy and I liked the sauce that came on it and with the fries. The octopus was cooked nicely and not too chewy. We ended the night getting another round of drinks and sitting on the deck by the fire table. It was a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back! It is a bit pricey but for a nice date night the quality was worth it. Staff was so friendly and accommodating as well.

Was visiting family in the area and they brought us to this spot that they had tried earlier in the week. They liked it so much that they decided to bring my boyfriend and I in too! The building itself is super cool, the old mill really gives a cozy rustic vibe to the restaurant and the art and random pieces of equipment around the restaurant are super cool. Lots of seating - we had a reservation and I'd definitely recommend having one if you're going to try it out. I can imagine it gets busy. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive and explained that the food is best for sharing. She gave us lots of recs and brought the food out as soon as it was ready and hot! They are constantly changing the menu so I'm not able to find the exactly names of the plates that we shared. We got a poke appetizer, mini tacos/pulled pork, fish with potatoes, and a pasta dish. For dessert we got the tiramisu which was really tasty. Everything we got was really delicious and generous portions. After dinner we went downstairs for the bar. We got a couple of espresso martinis and an old fashioned and listened to the live music. The music was a bit loud, but it was still a nice vibe to sit and have a drink after a filling meal. Overall, definitely recommend this spot if you live in the area or are passing through!

Heard about this spot from a friend. Just amazing! Met our friends for some drinks and had a ball listening to some real good local jazz artists. Definitely check this place out!

Once again- fabulous! First time having brunch at Grist and it was delicious. Fabulous server, fabulous vibes, fabulous food! I had the corned beef hash entree and the Nutella filled donuts. So good! Can't wait to be back for more brunch deliciousness and in the evening to check out their new spring dinner menu.

My honest review of grist. - When we walked in we were met with smiles and hellos, and we instantly took in the vibe. Everyone was relaxed, smiling, and having a good time. The aesthetic did not disappoint either. The restaurant can be simply described with one word: GORGEOUS. We had a drink at the bar, and it was delicious, and then were sat early for our table. Kendra, who was working as support for our waitress Megan, was so sweet and attentive. Megan promptly came over and went through the menu with us and we ordered - Caesar salad for Britt with the porterhouse and beef tartare for me with the Everyday But Sunday Sauce. I was stunned by the quality of food. It was hands down the best beef tartare I have had ANYWHERE. I mean, it was quite literally perfection on a plate. My rigatoni had meatballs that melted in my mouth, the sausage was tasty, and the hunk of pork was fork tender. The sauce itself was perfectly seasoned, the San Marzano tomatoes were beautifully cooked, and I had such a huge portion that a lot of it came home. As for Britt, he loved his Caesar and said the dressing was fantastic, he just personally prefers romaine lettuce over red leaf. The flavor of his steak was mind blowing. The fat was perfectly rendered and it was still cooked expertly at medium rare. Lastly, we got cookies for dessert. Two absolutely perfect peanut butter chip cookies that were lightly salted and served with a glass of milk. Unreal. I got an espresso martini and it was also incredible. Our bartender John should not be overlooked either. Great guy, a true mixologist, and we enjoyed chatting with him after dinner. Britt did go up to the kitchen to give his compliments to the chef, who came out and shook his hand. I wish I took pics other than my martini, but I was too busy stuffing my face with the masterpieces I was being served. We were absolutely blown away.

10/10 would recommend this place! Came here for brunch and everything was amazing. The staff is so friendly, the drinks were delicious, and the food incredible! We tried everything from the fresh fruit board, to the pot pie, avocado toast, BLT, and cinnamon roll. Already can't wait to come back here for dinner!

We went to grist on a sunday as they are open one Sunday out of the month. My group and I ordered the seasonal fruit and berry platter since it was brunch/lunch to start with, it was very good and tasted fresh and mixed well with the yogurt and granola. I ordered the breakfast pot pie and it did not disappoint, it was savory and delicious. My group and I enjoyed our visit and wont hesitate to come back! Service was good and always asked if needed anything or any refills. The place was very nice and well taken care of.

And Okay Beer actually makes excellent beer. The Suds is an easy-drinking pilsner, and I was into the Stay the Night, a delicious stout at 7% ABV. There's a nice cider on tap if you're gluten free, and a full bar if you're more into liquor. The food? Actually good. We had a delicious mountain of house-brined chicken fingers and fries (the comeback sauce will make you want to come back), a great burger, and the grilled chicken sandwich was actually stellar too and slightly healthier (I imagine). Unfortunately, wings are served only on Sundays, so we'll have to come back for those. There's bowling. If you like bowling, or even if you don't, you know what it is. But it's affordable, the shoes were in good condition, and everyone we encountered, from the bowling guru (I think that's what they are called) to the bartenders to the food counter folks were all laid back and friendly. This is all the things I want in a place to hang out with my friends and my kids, and none of the things I don't want.

I simply want to keep it all to myself...but as an Elite Yelper, I feel an inordinate moral calling to share this great, super fun, place! It is a tiny, tiny place (hence, the first part of its name.) Maximum capacity of about 35 people. It has an outside volleyball court and a great outside deck on which you can enjoy a cool upscale beverage, or a Coors Light....literally it is that kind of place, something for everyone!!!! On a beautiful day, what a place to spend the afternoon for some fabulous burgers and the libation of your absolute choice! Now for the GREAT stuff. Amazing burgers. Like Amazing. Juicy, flavorful. Yum. Cozy tables and high tops with stools and a decent sized bar inside, then the nice deck, outside. The locals clearly know about this place and they have kept it a DEEP SECRET. I understand. It is a prize and if I were them, I would do the same. We heard about this cubbyhole, randomly, through rumor. Then we found it on Facebook. Our car driving group made arrangements to have a happy hour on a beautiful, sunny, fall Saturday following a rally style drive around WNY. The owner, Jennifer, was wonderfully accommodating when contacted in advance, agreeing to prepare a happy hour offering for us from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm on a Saturday afternoon, with special burger sliders and fry baskets for our drivers as appetizers, as we finished our rally style drive and rolled into Stafford New York in waves. We took over the Tiny Piney for a two hour period. Total fun. Steph, the master mixologist who totally dominates the Tiny Piney's unique bar, developed two specialty cocktails for our group. One was called the Pink Cadillac Margarita, and the other was called the Road Trip Cold Brew. Both. Were. Incredible. My driving group, The Western New York Drivers, are a great group of folks who love cars--from the very high end supercars and exotics to classics to muscle cars. Our drivers who are of all walks of life, were all so impressed with the incredible hospitality offered by The Tiny Piney, and their warm and welcoming group of local patrons. It is not every day that millions of dollars worth of cars driven by strangers, roll into a tiny bar in upstate Western New York, but the Tiny Piney handled it in total stride and arranged in advance for great parking on the lawn of the neighboring car business for our cars. Just perfect. My husband and I live 50 minutes from this hidden gem, and mark my words, we will be back before driving season's end, with or without our larger ensemble....as soon as possible! Thank you Steph and Jennifer for a warm welcoming Tiny Piney hug!

Two stars, and that feels generous…read more My wife and I recently visited Bonnie and Clyde in Fairport as part of a group of eight, and we left disappointed. At $117 for the two of us, including tax and tip, we expected a lot more than we got. Let's start with the positives. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. The building itself is a converted bank, and the old vault is a striking architectural feature, though we didn't dine in it. The restaurant also deserves credit for offering some vegan options, including one vegan entrée. That said, the issues outweighed the highlights considerably. The noise level was genuinely awful. We were at a table of eight and had trouble hearing each other. The space felt sparse and cold, not in a minimalist-chic way, but in an unfinished way. The whole "Bonnie and Clyde" theme has such strong possibilities it's a shame they didn't pursue them. The food was mediocre and overpriced. I ordered two vegan sides instead of an entrée: French fries and a roasted beet salad. I asked the waiter to prepare the fries vegan-style with just ketchup, but they arrived with two sides of non-vegan aioli anyway. The fries themselves were average. The beet salad was fine but small and forgettable. My wife ordered the king trumpet mushrooms, the only vegan entrée on the menu. The mushrooms were decent, nothing more. Her cocktail special, a kiwi and vodka drink, was watery and bland. A few other frustrations: the vegan items are not labeled as such on the menu, which is an easy fix that would doubtless help many diners. There is only one vegan entrée, which feels thin. And Lagunitas non-alcoholic beer is available, but you would never know it, since it does not appear on the drinks menu. We will not be returning.
