Stopped by Tea Tree Cafe today and had a great experience! I ordered an iced coffee with almond milk and vanilla, and it was perfectly balanced--just the way I like it - not overly sweet. For food, I grabbed the Ziggy Wrap with bacon and avocado. It was delicious; everything tasted sooo good, especially the oranges on the side!! The staff were super friendly and made the whole visit easy and welcoming. I'm always looking for coffee shops with creative drinks, both outdoor and indoor seating, free WiFi, and that are study session friendly. Tree Town Cafe is one that I wouldn't have found if I didn't see it on a list of Rochester coffee shops. I feel like this cafe is sort of a hidden gem. I've been here twice-- once in the summer for an evening dinner on the patio, and most recently for a cozy study session in the winter. It's open decently late (for a coffee shop in Rochester) on weekdays (7pm), which is perfect for studying. They have plenty of parking in their parking lot. Their outdoor seating is placed directly in front of their building with plenty of shade, or in the grassy area next to the parking lot. It seems to be a kid-friendly cafe as well, since they have play areas. They have a cute indoor shop with food-related gifts like baked goodies, coffee, chocolate bars, and even dog treats. The service was wonderful, and they were very willing to make a call to the baker to check my allergies. There's not a lot of indoor seating, but it was enough to find a spot to study. The space heater in the small room was essential, although it got a little cool next to the glass once it started to get dark. As I mentioned, they do have free WiFi. read more

This is probably my FAVORITE place to grab coffee in Rochester. Everyone is always super friendly. I love their rotating seasonal drinks, they're always so creative! The food is also delicious, I love the avocado toast on GF bread. They have gluten free and vegan options. In the summertime, they have a cute outdoor area with picnic tables and Adirondack chairs. This café is a little hidden gem, close to Corbet's Glen in Penfield-just off Penfield Road. It's perfect for couples, friend, families and those just looking for a quiet moment. There's plenty of outdoor seating, a play area for children and indoor seating as well. Their menu is incredible; I had the tuna panini and my daughter the turkey BLT. They also have great selections of coffees and baked goods to choose from. Their house made ciabatta bread is amazing! We've only ever gotten breakfast sandwiches here, but they are great. Definitely pricier than a chain restaurant, but worth it. You order at the counter and then they buzz you when your food is ready. There isn't a lot of indoor seating, so in the colder weather you might have to wait for a seat. I've heard great things about Tree Town Cafe and wanted to see what they were all about. Went on a Saturday morning to try a drink from the special Valentine's Day Menu. I loved the shopping area featuring handmade goods and local artisanal chocolates and desserts. The offerings made it feel like a cozy market. We had to wait to order and a minor wait to receive our drinks. The staff were very friendly . My drink was missing the edible rose petals and they were happy to take care of this. We tried a breakfast sandwich and the veggie plate. I had only ever been during Covid where you ordered outside sat outside they brought the food to you. Love this place and its by far the best coffee spot in Penfield! The seasonal drinks are so fun and festive and I look forward to trying all the Fall flavors every year! Met our friends here for lunch while up visiting from Houston. We came around 1pm on a Wednesday and we were SHOCKED with how crowded the parking lot was. We actually had to park on the side street! There is limited indoor seating but since it was a nice day we sat outside. If I remember correctly, there were probably only 3 picnic tables and a few Adirondack chairs. We managed to grab 4 Adirondack chairs and put down a couple blankets for the kids to sit on. The wait time for our lunch was the biggest negative. We waited about and HOUR for our food. The kids played and us adults talked while we waited but it still was quite lengthy. The items our family ordered were: a kid's ham and provolone submarine, a kid's hummus wrap and a Club Sandwich. The prices for the kid's meals were all pretty decent. All under $5 if I remember correctly. I, myself, ordered the kid's hummus wrap (named There's a hummus among us) with lettuce, tomato and onion. It was around $4. It was yummy. My husband enjoyed his Inwood club. Our friend brought all the kids in to pick out a treat after lunch. Some of what I saw included: brownies, cookies and assorted candies. (Very nice of her). The outdoor area really made the outing special. I couldn't imagine if we were cooped up inside somewhere with an hour-long wait for our food. (Though, we didn't appreciate the old lady who was yelling at our kids while they played. Apparently, the kids were being too "rough" for their liking. We saw her yelling at her husband too so maybe she just isn't a very friendly person to begin with???) What a precious spot this is!! I've been wanting to come here for years and yesterday was the day. We went around brunch time and it was fairly busy so I wasn't able to capture too many photos of the inside. It's absolutely charming inside, overflowing with local made goods, candy, baked goods, you name it! The inside had a few tables and outside was thriving! Play areas, Adirondack chairs, fire pits. I can't wait to come back. Coffee was delicious, strong and sweet from the flavor shot and our food... those eggs?? They're perfect!! I'll admit, when I first saw this open, I thought, "Why would I ever go there?" but considering the reviews and how busy it was at 1:30 on a Wednesday, I'm a believer. My mom and I were impressed by the sheer volume of local foods and goods they carry. All your favorites - like Baker St Bakery, Guglielmo's, and Chef's Kitchen - are here for you in one convenient place! We had a hard time finding a place to sit, as all the outdoor seating was taken up (this was in the summer). We ended up at a table in the room with the kids area (yes they have a little kids area as well!). Unfortunately it was quite cold, but we were able to turn off the AC unit that was blasting at us. It was a while to order and a while to get the food (but they use a buzzer system) because it was pretty busy. My mom and I shared the Ellison Park panini ($9.50) and the Weymouth BLT ($9). I had the lavender lemonade ($3) as well. We agreed that the Ellison Park panini far outshined the BLT. The focaccia alone set it above the BLT, which was on regular white bread (though I think still artisan, maybe housemade). The Ellison was very flavorful as well, in comparison to the BLT which would've been lost without the avocado and looked a little disheveled (see picture). It was nice that both came with chips, too. My mom thought the lavender lemonade was too sweet, but it was just right for me. We would probably come back if we're in the area and in need of lunch or to grab some local goodies. read more

My boyfriend and I tried this place for the first time at the recommendation of a friend. This is a cute little cafe in what looks like an older house. Because it is a small cafe, there isn't much space to sit and eat, so expect to take out or try not to come during peak hours to ensure you get a table. This cafe has a variety of different pastries and snacks to choose from as soon as you walk in. We tried the double chocolate brownie and the fruity pebbles rice crispy treat. Both were delicious but I will say the rice crispy treat was soooo good. I am still thinking about it a day later lol. I even noticed that they have vegan snacks and meal options! One thing I loved about this cafe was that there was a variety of different flavored/special drinks. I love going places where I can try a new drink, so this place made my day. My bf got a tuxedo latte which is a latte flavored with dark and white chocolate, and I got a strawberry white chocolate mocha. Both were delicious! For our meals, I got the tree town avocado toast which comes with two large slices of sourdough toast, an egg on each, and avocado with feta on each slice. This meal was super filling and delicious. My bf ended up getting one of their steak sandwiches (not pictured below). It was smaller than he anticipated, however, he did mention it was delicious and worth the buy. What in the amazing cafe world did I just stumble upon?! I love everything about this place. It's hyper local, sells the normal cafe drinks, has a little candy shop feel, unique baked goods, and even jewelry. It's just a delightful experience to even walk into this place. There's a lot to love about Tree Town, but the thing I personally love most about this place is the ultra local support! Holy moly. There's dozens of local businesses represented in these four walls. Laughing gull chocolates, chai guy goodies, amazing grains bread, local coffee, pasta sauce, Fiz soda, kombucha...you name it and Tree Town not only has it, but has it sourced from fellow Rochester business owners. Talk about lifting your community up?! All of this is to the great benefit of anyone who stops by for breakfast or lunch. I saw the cafe allllll over social for their innovation and agility in responding to this pandemic. They set up an open air market, which is now housed right when you walk in with fresh produce, herbs, and more. All of the other goodies can still be found in the cafe, like cookies and baked goods, breads, chocolate etc. This is all before you even get up to the counter to grab your food or coffee order! I called ahead for my breakfast sandwich, but they also have a super seamless and easy to use online ordering system. I went with the superior breakfast sandwich and it was as good as it looks in photos. I would add some bacon or sausage in the future, but the sandwich with just egg and cheese was still superb. Another highlight for me is their Jamaican Me Happy coffee, which was flavorful and light - the perfect Tuesday morning sip-while-working treat. There's a heated picnic style area if you're looking to sit outside, and the overall ambiance is just super special. Everyone I spoke with was kind, helpful, and super personable. I know every future trip to Corbett's Glen will include a stop by Tree Town, and I am so grateful to have another awesome spot to shop gifts and local goodies. We love this spot! It's great for lunch or breakfast, especially if you have kids. There are lots of toys indoors and outdoors for them to play with to keep them busy. Only challenge is they don't have a ton of seating but we've always found a spot when we've gone there to eat. Love their coffees, selection of market items and paninis. Also love their kids meals - the kiddos love picking out their own snacks. Only thing I don't love is the salad I got there. It wasn't great; a lot of the lettuce leaves were bad. Tree Town Cafe is always a must-stop when we are in Rochester! The staff is always friendly, their market items are plentiful and unique (and mostly local) and the food and beverages are very good. We always are grabbing a coffee drink or smoothie and sometimes both when we stop. We love that they have unique specialty flavors and beverages for the different months/seasons but their flavored syrups they have year round are good as well. My husband loves their Nutella Latte, and we can never stop without getting my daughter a hot chocolate. The children's menu is out of this world and I can't believe the amount of food that comes for it for the price. SUCH a good value. Highly recommend their Corbett's Glen wrap, or the Jam, but any of their breakfast sandwiches are delicious. The cafe caters to families, as they have a nice play area with a playhouse outside on a lawn that has a bunch of picnic tables with umbrellas (such a nice touch for making guest comfortable and shaded from the sun), and they have some toys inside as well to keep kids occupied. The only downside is there really isn't much inside seating, truly is the only downside to the cafe that I can find. Still doesn't deter us from visiting though. Recently saw they are offering pizzas and they opened up their second location in the 1000 Islands so can't wait to visit them there too and see the differences between the two! read more

I didn't know that something had moved into this location until I was driving by it. I pulled in thinking they might have closed already, but they are open until 8pm, which is nice. I didn't have any idea what they had, so I looked around for a little bit. They have a dessert case like the old deli that used to be here did. However, nothing in it looked good to me. I assume they change what's in it most of the time. I saw a list of ice cream that they had available, but it must be in the back, which I thought was a little odd. There was another case that I expected to have ice cream in it, but it wasn't there. They had another case with bread and baked goods in it, and the bagels looked really good, so I decided to just get a bagel and cream cheese. As I was waiting, I read through the menu more and saw that they have an egg salad sandwich. When I go back, I will try that. When I came in, I was the only person. Before I ordered, another couple came in, and by the time I left, there were probably 8 of us. It was very crowded for a Wednesday night. I was surprised. They could really use some signs for where to order and where to pick up your food. It got confusing with so many people. It took a little while for my bagel to be ready, so I was glad I didn't order something more complicated. I heard them tell someone behind me that they were out of something after they ordered it, so you can tell that they're still new and they're working out the kinks. My bagel was really good. It was hot enough to melt the cream cheese, and it was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I love, love, love the coffee from here. The flavored lattes give you exactly what you expect: if the menu says lavender, you're going to taste it! I find that flavored coffee drinks can be hit or miss (sometimes you just get a latte with a ghost of its intended flavor) but Tree Town gets it right. So far, I've only tried their classic sandwich with added bacon to scratch the BEC itch. The sandwich was sound--my only gripe is that I should have specified the doneness of my egg, but that's purely user error. While the ambiance is exceptionally cute and homey, my experience today was not the same as others have shared. Came in to grab takeout but it took over 45 minutes to get two sandwiches and two drinks. Things arrived incrementally. 10 minutes for a coffee, another 20 until sandwiches appeared, and then 15 more for a smoothie. If the food was incredible I could be more forgiving. But based on what others have shared I seem to have come on the wrong day. I was shocked when I opened the box to reveal the turkey club. It was not at all what I expected. Went to Tree Town Cafe today for a delicious latte. I've been here a few times before just wanted to wait to do the review and I can honestly say they are my favorite cup of joe in my area. I ordered a Maple Latte which is so delicious and I was so surprised they are doing it all year round but hey I'm not complaining one bit. Entering the parking lot 2 people outside spinning signs for Girl Scout cookies greeting people with smiles and joy.
