Tasty latte and breakfast burrito! Personable staff, nice quiet cafe with tons of seating to get work done or catch up with friends. Bonus of free wifi!Would definitely recommend charging devices before hunkering down here though, I couldn't find any outlets.

This is my second visit and I decided to wait on a review. The staff is friendly, the coffee and coffee drinks are good and during the warmer months nice outdoor seating. Also it's quiet on this part of Park Ave or better known as the ABC Streets. The inside is not very big but they have recently reconfigured the indoor space since my first visit. Yes they have Wi-Fi a plus. A lot of coffee places on Park Ave don't. Now I had that breakfast sandwich I saw on Instagram. A Rosemary Cheddar (I believe) biscuit with egg, cheese and bacon. I will be frank it was kind of a meh. The biscuit had no flavor, the cheese was basically non existent, the egg needed salt. Basically all of it needed salt and the biscuit was like nothing I had before and it needed work. So I came back and decided to order another coffee drink and try another breakfast sandwich to see if it was a one off. Now I'm sure you are going to say why did you not say anything the first time about the first breakfast sandwich. I felt as they were in a "soft opening" stage I did not wanna be that person. Things happen so I wanted to come back later and try something different again. This is how it went on the second visit. I went the day after Christmas. I had to drop off my car and thought I'd wait here for it to be finished. I came here around 8:15 am. As last time the person who took my order was pleasant and helpful. Seating is minimal as I said earlier. I got a Cafe Au Lait and the breakfast burrito with chorizo in it with egg, cheese, avocado and sour cream. It's pretty big and cut in half a plus. It's enough for two people to share or one really hungry person. The cafe Au Lait was lovely and before she put the steamed milk she saw that I was getting my sweetener of choice and said I could add it before the milk. That was great and appreciated. I heard about this breakfast burrito from a social media blogger and it was worth getting it. Here's the name of it and what's actually in it: The Driftwood Breakfast Burrito: A beautiful breakfast burrito with farm fresh eggs, avocado, chorizo, cheddar cheese, hash browns & sriracha aioli All in all it was a nice experience and I would for sure go back. It's more of a 4.5 outta 5 but I'm torn as it's a really great spot. During the warmer months they have a lot of outside seating, but parking is at a premium as it's in a residential area. Still.. give them a whirl. Welcome to the neighborhood.

This is what we came for because it was advertised as having "hatched" chiles.

We tried Montgomery Court Coffee Shop after seeing social posts about their food. We tried "The Colorado" which boasted having "hatched" chiles and the hottest burritos in NY. We love Hatch Chiles, so this was why we came. The burritos were absolutely delicious, though with a few minor quibbles: It's "Hatch Chiles", not "hatched". It shouldn't be called "The Colorado" because the chiles are from Hatch, New Mexico. One of the people in our party was from New Mexico, and reminded us that there is a healthy rivalry between the states. If you're using Hatch Chiles, they are the pride of New Mexico. Also, we'd recommend more Chiles. The flavor was really good but there wasn't enough of them to satisfy our craving. Well cooked and delicious. Iced Chai was also fantastic. The place has a super cozy vibe. Great decor. Service on the food part was very slow, but our patience was rewarded with flavor. Very tasty and we'll stop in again and ask for 2x to 3x the chiles.

I popped in on a Saturday morning, and this place was packed! I ordered a pistachio latte, since they said that the pistachio syrup is done in-house. Tbh there wasn't too much of a pistachio flavor, but I will admit that I have never been that good at discerning pistachio notes. There are three seated table areas, and then ample standing tables. I also ordered the Rivers and Roads, which is a breakfast sandwich on a scone. For the price point it's a decent size, and the chorizo with the cheese and egg were tasty! The staff were pleasant and the place is artfully decorated, I think this is a great place to grab a bite with some friends.

Completely downed iced latte and two ROC breakfast Sammie's.

It's always nice to have another local coffee shop in Rochester, walking distance from anyone in the ABC neighborhood or Park Ave. The ambiance is nice and casual, with eclectic decorations and tons of plants. The service is splendid, that staff taking time to learn your name if you frequent enough times and the food is pretty tasty! I'm pretty basic in my coffee orders, but have no complaints about it. Fave order is the ROC breakfast sandwich, especially on their everything seasoning roll. Glad to be a patron since they've been open and how they're able to get more seating!

Solid atmosphere. Friendly staff. Good music. Still working on the interior so there's not much seat wise. Ordered a cappuccino. It was very smooth. Good, fresh flavor. Would like to check out again once they get settled. Good stuff though and a bit off the beaten path of other park Ave joints. If quiet is your jam then this is a nicer coffee option.

Coffee is spectacular! Rich in flavor and the sizes are generous for the price. Love the Parisian-like ambiance. The space is quiet enough to sit down and work, but also can accommodate a bigger group for socializing. We come to see our favorite barista, Kat!

Coffee was palatable. Food was passable but hard to get past the distinct disappointing flavor of pre-shredded bagged cheese

On my first visit, I had the unfortunate timing to arrive late in the morning after a huge rush of locals had pretty much wiped out all their specials. Except one: a coffee drink with fish sauce. You read that correctly. FISH SAUCE. Like the kind you put on a savory Asian dish. It wasn't what I wanted, but the person making the coffees talked me into it because, as noted, they were literally out of almost everything else. I thought, well, I do like fish sauce, and maybe it just adds an umami kick, the way salt on caramel amps up the richness of a dessert. And I was not disappointed! In fact, it was delightful and very easy to drink! From that point, I felt pretty much hooked. These folks know their flavor combos and despite how 'weird' some might sound, they just work. My current obsession is their miso gourd-core on their fall menu - sort of like a savory pumpkin spice latte - delicious. I also love the golden nugget with turmeric maple syrup and clove. Really good. I have not tried anything else here food-wise (i.e. no cookies, smoothies or other nibbles), but usually pair my coffee with something delectable from next door at Jens Artisan - such as a quiche, mini cheesecake or cinnamon roll.... I'm a fan. And I highly recommend trying something outside of your comfort zone!

There is parking out front if you drive along the side of the building past other businesses. The quality of the beans seems incredible, which is why I stopped in. Being a strong enthusiast of coffee, collecting beans in my travels around the country and the world to enjoy at my home, I have been in many coffee shops and to many roasters over the years. One of my favorite parts is connecting with others who also have a passion and appreciate the product. However, that is where my dissatisfaction lies for this business. My greeting was terse and my enthusiastic inquiries about the various beans was met with disengaged and pretentious replies that all of the beans were great. I realize this and that is why I was visiting. Despite multiple attempts to engage in conversation to learn more about the taste characteristics and growing regions, I continued to be met with dismissive comments or silence. Maybe I did not appear to be knowledgeable but I left feeling that I was not worthwhile to the staff member who was working when I visited. I would not return to give business when such poor service was provided during my visit. There are many specialty roasters in the country and world from whom I can enjoy both excellent beans and excellent service.

I liked Joe Bean on the one occasion I got to visit their former location on University Avenue, and in some respects, I think this move is a nice change for them. They have way more space, and it feels like a great place that could host events relating to the production and tasting of coffee - not to mention, much more parking! The new facility features nice large windows, a sunny morning vibe, beautiful decor, a great selection of really appealing coffees, snacks, bags of coffee for home use, and lots of cheery plants. I had a latte with oat milk and Ethiopia Misty Valley coffee, for $5. The latte and my friend's Americano took a good while to be prepared (the two staff working told us apologetically and nicely that they only had one machine to do all the work of supporting the many people present that day), but when it was done, it was absolutely worth it. A latte of this quality is the true reason you go to a place like Joe Bean as opposed to Starbucks. This is what the movement of really high-level coffee experience should really be all about. I cannot compare it to any other latte I've had in Rochester. This alone puts Joe Bean as the best coffee in town in my opinion - Ugly Duck, Glen Edith, Fuego, Coffee Connection, etc., I'm looking at you! Thank you to Joe Bean for staying open and providing a great experience. If you are reading this as a prospective customer, I highly recommend you go check it out!

The shop is very much connected to the community with these offerings and there is even a board for local events, mutual aid, and business card offerings. It was busy when we arrived with only one barista working. The barista would take orders and then made the drinks for the order. They were very kind and hardworking. We had no problem being patient waiting for our turn. There was so much to look at in the shop while waiting. Street parking is available and was easy to find.
