This is a gem of a place. We went during Happy Hour and enjoyed the short rib tacos, and the egg rolls with prime rib , corn , bean and spicy Sweet Thai chili . Five stars for food, drinks, service and Ambiance. Our family of 7 sat at the bar for happy hour, ordering beverages,soup, tacos, grits and macaroni and cheese. The server was excellent, with a thorough knowledge of both the wine and the food. I had the lobster and shrimp risotto, while my wife had the trout. Both dishes started with a salad (summer and Caesar respectively). These passed with flying marks. The dinner was delicious. Lobster and shrimp cooked perfectly with wonderful flavor. The risotto was creamy but not overcooked. My wife's plate was likewise excellent. The trout's crust was not overpowering and the delicate fish could not have been prepared better. The sweet potato and green beans on the side were clearly freshly made and not over seasoned. The chef here seriously knows what they are doing. Do not hesitate to visit. Traveling from Moab, UT to Vail, CO we need somewhere to pick up dinner as it was getting late and most places were closing. We decided to try out this restaurant. We went for the Heirloom Summer Salads. After having a bunch of snacks on the road, we wanted something refreshing and healthy. This was definitely tasty and healthy, but the portion size was absurd. For the $12 you get three slices of tomato and three slices of cheese... and that's it. I had expected something which could satisfy hunger, this wouldn't have been enough to clog a sink if I needed to. Unfortunately after finally getting to our hotel, the nearby restaurants are closed so we will be going to bed hungry. Edit: I called in an order for pick-up. Being plant based, I asked whether the Heirloom Summer Salad or Burrata Caprese would be more filling. The staff member said the Caprese was more of a starter and recommended the Salad. Ate here twice in the 5 days that we were in vail. You could tell that this place is very well liked because it was busy both times we were there. I'd like to start by saying that the owner was super nice. We talked with the owner Jim for about 10 minutes the second time we were there. Great conversation and even better food. The first time I was there I got the "Yokel" breakfast. It was good, but not amazing. The second time there I got the eggs Benedict and those were AMAZING. Quick and friendly service! If you want a (good) cup of coffee as big as your head, this is the place to come to! I ordered the 3-oz filet mignon (a side) and the French toast. The filet wasn't much to look at but boy oh boy, the taste surely made it up for it! It was so tender that it almost melted in my mouth. The French toast was a little over an inch thick: six half slices with syrup and berries on the side. I like my stuff on the sweet side so I asked for another side of syrup. I'm taking half of it home. Apparently, they have a world-famous cronut. I am going to call to reserve one tomorrow because that's how popular they are. I was told it's not one to miss. This food was great, and everyone at the restaurant was incredibly kind. My wife and I ate here on our honeymoon and every person we spoke to in the restaurant reached out to us and told us congratulations which was very sweet. We decided to try breakfast out after living in Avon for 6 years. Service was great but food and price was not. Beware website pricing is wrong compared to menu presented in restaurant. Website says eggs Benedict is $15.95 and in restaurant it is $18.95. Just looking at previous menu review photos you can see how much the price has risen in a year. Maybe prices fluctuate depending on season? Charge higher when tourist season and lower off season? As for eggs Benedict the egg and small amount of meat, I got bacon, was not presented well or proportionate to the muffin. The hash browns may as well have been served as mashed potatoes. Menu mentions an automatic kitchen living wage charge will be added to final bill. Online menu says 3% but in person menu does not specify %. Turns out it was 4.1%. I hate when restaurants do this. I'm all for higher wages but that's the ownership responsibility to pay employees better. Does this claimed automatic charge even go to employees or is a way to increase the profits. I can try food again but shady pricing practices will keep me away. I recommend avoiding this place and we won't be back. read more

Always reliable when in Eagle Valley. Loved the prime rib. Their breakfasts are great as well, especially the fresh pastries and donuts.

On the way up to the mountains this weekend, we stopped into Avon for a potty break and for the first meal of the day. Not wanting to break the driving momentum, we initially wanted something with a drive-thru quickness, but somehow stumbled into Northside Kitchen. At about 8 or 9 am, there was no wait and we were seated right away. Good decision made by us so far. Service was great and the food came out QUICK. I ordered the Lamb Hash which was surprisingly really good. I was thinking it was a bit of a gamble to 1) eat lamb for breakfast and 2) eat it in a mountainside diner, but the shredded lamb had great flavor that really stood up to the peppers, onions, carrots, and potatoes it was mixed with. Served with 3 eggs (sunny side up for me) and wheat toast. A little pricey ($18), but it's lamb and it was delicious - a little under $20 well worth it. The bf went with the Filet Breakfast Burrito - chunks of filet mignon, scrambled eggs, onions, peppers, hash browns, cheese and green chili snug as a bug in a flour tortilla rug drenched in more green chili sauce. He enjoyed his breakfast and we both left with full bellies and no complaints. You'll notice that as soon as you walk into Northside Kitchen, a large glass case of donuts will greet you warmly. Try your best to say no, but if you know what's good for you, you'll take at least a couple home with you like we did. We grabbed a cake donut, a maple bacon regular raised donut, one glazed, and one of the old-fashioned donuts with chocolate. Let me tell you: I seriously considered going back for more of the old-fashioned. They were a tad crisp on the edges, soft and fluffy on the inside, warm and yummy all throughout. I am a sucker for a cake donut and this was just that but kicked up to a thousand. SO good. Great little find right off I-70. Seriously, you barely have to get off the highway to get here and it's conveniently a stone's throw away from a gas station. Did I mention they have donuts? If this isn't the perfect roadside stop, I'm not sure what is. read more

This was a nice little breakfast/lunch find in Avon. When you walk in the door, you are greeted by a glass case of some wonderful looking donuts, and CRONUTS as advertised. We ended up leaving with a cronut (AMAZING) and an old-fashioned chocolate donut (pretty good). We were seated right away around 1:00. The menu prices were pretty reasonable for a resort town, and the place was pretty crowded. They had a nice variety of menu options, and the staff was very helpful and attentive in dealing with my mother's dairy allergy. The coffee was STRONG, but very good. My husband wasn't super hungry, so he ordered scrambled eggs and sausage (which was great on its own) and I got the Huevos Rancheros with red and green chili. The Huevos were very good, and the food came out surprisingly fast. If you're looking for some good food in a casual/family friendly atmosphere, I would definitely recommend this spot! read more

I didn't complain I just took 1 sip, tried to add about 25 little creamers to kill the nastiness & still couldn't drink it.
