Zach's Cabin was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The evening began with the sleigh ride up the mountain, which was incredibly smooth and cozy. They provided blankets so everyone could stay warm, and the ride itself gave us the chance to relax and take in the beautiful views on the way up, it really set the tone for the night. Once we arrived, the food completely stole the show. I was a bit unsure what to order, so our waiter asked what I would normally choose if anything was available. I mentioned that I usually go for a steak but prefer it without fatty cuts. He recommended the elk, and I am so glad I trusted his suggestion. It was absolutely phenomenal! So tender it quite literally melted in my mouth, and the flavor profile was rich, balanced, and beautifully prepared. We also ordered the Brussels sprouts au gratin, which were perfection- creamy, flavorful, and the ideal side to complement the elk. We enjoyed some champagne with dinner, which made the whole experience feel even more celebratory. To finish, we had an apple crisp dessert with toffee, and it was the perfect sweet ending to the meal. Warm, comforting, and just the right amount of sweetness. Between the scenic sleigh ride, the incredible food, and the thoughtful service, Zach's Cabin is truly a special dining experience. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting the Avon/Vail area and who is willing to splurge on a perfect dining experience. read more

The "sleigh" ride up was good, they could improve by cleaning the seats of snow and having the "blankets" (jackets?) kept in an area from the elements (it was snowing at the time, who knew?). Excellent meal, no complaints and great service. read more

The sled ride to the cabin was amazing and absolutely breathtaking. Once we arrived, the atmosphere was nice, but since we were the last group to be seated, we had to wait while they prepared our table. Our waiter was friendly and helpful. We ordered drinks, appetizers, and entrées right away. The drinks came out on time, but the rest of the food took quite a long time to arrive. My husband and I had ordered sparkling water. The waiter brought the bottle, filled our glasses, and left the bottle on the table to show that was what we were drinking. Later during dinner, a woman came by and, without asking, refilled our glasses with tap water instead of the sparkling water. She walked away before we had a chance to say anything, and we just looked at each other in confusion. Throughout the meal, my chair was also bumped several times by waiters trying to walk through the area, which made the space feel a bit crowded and hectic. Food-wise, the duck we ordered was perfect and definitely one of the highlights of the meal. The fondue was also really good. However, the waiter forgot to bring the potatoes we had ordered with the duck. The kids' pasta was on the colder side, and the steak that came with it was very bland. Overall, the experience was okay, but it didn't quite feel like the high-end experience we expected. They could probably benefit from having more staff and a better flow of service so things feel less rushed and chaotic. It has the potential to be a great upscale dining experience, but the service could definitely use some improvement. read more

Not for me, sleigh ride anxiety attack, slow service and no way out but the sleigh ride back. Ladies, don't wear heels. You have to climb over a snow mountain to get to the sleigh. No. read more

The Ritz' best experience to offer besides skiing location - the ski left will pick you up from the resort to bring you to Zach's intimate and exclusive location upon the mountain. The location is cozy and staff is friendly, making you feel welcomed. The food is delicious and menu changes based on availability. We split most dishes, as everything was mouth watering. The appetizers, including fondue, was an overall great experience and way to try many items Zach's is able to offer. The appetizers and bread basket were highlights - highly recommend sharing dishes opposed to sticking to your own. It's worth stealing a bite of every dish that Zach's has on their menu. read more

To get to Zach's Cabin, you take a sleigh ride up the side of a mountain to this luxury mountain chalet complete with gigantic antler chandeliers and a massive, central fireplace. Our window table overlooked the beautiful twinkling lights of Breckenridge below as we enjoyed gourmet food and excellent service. The pumpkin soup was delicious, the sturgeon was perfectly prepared, and the apple pie was topped with.... Wait for it..... Rum-soaked raisins. I'm glad the sleigh didn't have weight restrictions because I probably gained 10 pounds during dinner. This was truly an experience to remember. read more

Honestly, this experience was so incredible. They could have charged me $30 for bread and I still would have been left smiling. We checked in with concierge at The Ritz Carlton Bachelor Gulch concierge desk. We got there a bit early and enjoyed a cocktail at the great hall bar. The snow cat drawn sleigh arrived and our driver was quick to cover our seat in wool blankets and give us an oversized waterproof, fleece lined coat to place on our lap (it had been snowing all day). After an amazing drive up a ski run, we got to the cabin and left our coats in a large coat room. There was an option to exchange your boots for North Face slippers which was a nice touch. The restaurant itself felt straight out of a European movie. We shared the king crab dumplings and trout schnitzel. (Honestly, how could you not order either when they sounded so odd). When our entree arrived we were shocked to find they gave us two massive portions on our own plate with the same amount of accoutrements. We honestly thought they misheard us and brought us two portions... but no, when the check came we realized they had gone above and beyond to treat us despite splitting a plate. Bonus: on the way home we were the only two on the sleigh so they let us ride up front in the snow cat. We have been Vail people, but this restaurant has us already planning our next trip back to BC read more

Fantastic special occasion dinner with my son and husband. The ride up was great and not crowded at all. The servers and musician were amazing. Food was even better. If you have to ask how much it is, you cannot afford it. Just go and enjoy. read more

Decent food. But man....the service was just not great. And it's almost like they knew it but didn't care because you were already trapped there from the ridiculous "sleigh" ride. By "sleigh" they mean an open air trailer pulled by a tractor plow with wet blankets so you can get frostbite as you look at the stars on your way to the most overpriced fleece job you can find in beaver creek. The Elk was good. read more

Very average food. The "sleigh" ride up was awful. Covered in snow as we boarded and expected to just take a seat before we drop $150/person at the cabin. Absolutely ridiculous they didn't clear the sleigh before (would have taken 2 min with a shovel) or use the covered one they have and sent for the way down. There were small children freezing and uncomfortable while grown ass adults pushed to sit under the small covered area. The service was incredibly slow. Food bland Pros: drinks were good read more

Have been coming to the Ritz to celebrate my birthday for years and I found out about this place when planning my 2023 trip. My friends ended up treating me to bottles and dinner and we had the absolute BEST experience. Both chefs (Alex x2) visited and one brought out a champagne gun for me and my friends. The food was seasoned to perfection which was really a surprise because I was expecting country club food (which we all know isn't the best) however, this did not disappoint. Made a TikTok of our experience (veuvepapi) if you want to watch. And the snowcat ride up is absolutely beautiful/scenic! Service was superb and they really made us feel welcomed. read more

I searched for a place to have a wonderful dinner in the Colorado mountains. I picked Zach's cabin because of the incredible reviews and pictures. Your evening starts from the ski resort and ride behind a snow cat in a sleigh to the restaurant. There are for lockers for your shoes to change into fur slippers. The food and service are amazing. The focus is on local Colorado cuisine. I always get the elk. It is made with different seasoning and side dishes each year. It is a beautiful experience for the family. read more

HOLY SLEIGH RIDE BATMAN! This was the absolute highlight of our stay at the Ritz Carlton in Beaver Creek! So my last night here, my gf and friends all decided to partake in a sleigh ride that took us high atop the mountain to the renowned Zach's Cabin! It was a bit cold and the snow was blowing, but soooo worth it! As soon as we stepped inside and hung our coats, we were escorted to a table in this beautiful mountain cabin! Super cool...rustic, fireplace, mountain décor! Loved it! So I can't exactly remember what my guests ordered, but I got the filet mignon and it was cooked to absolute perfection! Quite honestly one of the best filets I've had in a long time! In short, if you're up here and have the time I highly recommend the sleigh ride or coming to Zach's period! It's da BOMB! read more

I have eaten here several times, including one time being just two weeks ago. I have a girls trip this weekend and made a dinner ressy for 2 but thought I had made it for 3. When I called to adjust The man that answered my call was beyond rude. Told me "they don't have room for us.... And no wonder the reservation wasn't for three because they don't allow a reservation of 3 ppl". While I understand they might not have room, I was made to feel like a dumbass and instead of saying we don't have room for you a simple "we'll let you know if anything opens up" would have been more than ok. I would expect better customer service from a fine dining establishment but I guess I shouldn't be surprised. read more

Sleigh" was more like the bed of a dump truck with sides cut off and benches added. The snowcat throws snow into seats, so dont bother to do your hair or makeup. Our group of 8 was given 7 menus, no wine or cocktail list. Waitress didnt notice until we mentioned it. Drinks took a long time. Despite weeks of advance notice that our group included vegans, the only option was to take cheese off the salad. Most high-end restaurants will prepare somethg special if there are no menu options to meet a guests dietary requirements. Know it all sommelier spent 20min talking AT us despite the fact that we had already chosen our wine and had not requested his help. Wine was 3x price of other restaurants. 10/10 experience. You definitely need to make a reservation well in advance. The snow cat will pick you up from the Ritz Carlton in Beaver Creek and take you on a 10 min ride up the hill. How cool!! So disappointing. We have been enjoying Zach's for years on our ski vacations but weren't happy after the last 2 trips and will be taking it off our list in the future. We reserved a table for New Years Eve and we're surprised to find a set menu with very few options. No one informed us of the limited menu when confirming the reservation. Menu was $145pp: One app, one salad, choice of 3 entrees, choice of 2 desserts. My daughter and I don't eat red meat or pork so really we had to chose the scallops for dinner. They were well done but unfortunately the highlight of the meal. The men at the table weren't asked about how they would like their steaks or lamb cooked. The desserts were dry and unmemorable. A salad and scallops on their regular menu would have been closer to $70-80 so they basically doubled the price to give us less options. read more

Best experience I have EVER had for dinner.....so much fun riding the sleigh to the top....so cool to trade in shoes for slippers.....such EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE (Hot Mamma and I still discuss how anyone/everyone would do anything for you - you didn't need to get your server to get a drink as anyone passing would do it)...such INCREDIBLE FOOD, such a cool place.....I really did not want to leave. BEST EVER. It took a long time to get from the Park Hyatt to the Ritz on the shuttle, and then it is a bit of a confusing walk to get to the meeting place by the bar -- luckily someone in our shuttle had done it before and we all followed her (by the way, the bar at the Ritz looks awesome with a fireplace and lively crowd....). You need a reservation for sure. You meet in the lobby and they run a snow cat/groomer "sleigh"up the mountain to the restaurant. It was snowing and cold when we went up, but they provide large blankets to put around you --- I LOVED it and Hot Mamma hated it because it messed up her hair. The sled was a mix of couples and families. The guys who run it are really friendly and the one in the back spent all his time smiling, taking pictures, and answering questions. The restaurant is located in a grove of trees midway up the mountain -- so beautiful! When you arrive the hostess directs you to the "lockers" on the left where you hang your coat and slide into a pair of slippers. The place is really incredible, open, looks just like a place located on a ski slope should, huge windows and a big deck. It was really beautiful with the snow falling. Brett was our waiter and he was awesome. Prompt, great suggestions, and willing to answer any question and spot on with drinks and food. We never waited for anything, and he gladly sent over the wine steward to make a selection for HM (Hot Mamma) and it didn't bother his ego a bit. I had the ELK, that's right ELK, Tenderloin and it was the GREATEST thing I have ever had (better than any regular steak), and it was cooked to perfection. I was a bit nervous about trying it, but was assured that it would be exceptional and it was. So glad I tried it..... HM had the special (don't remember what it was) and the wine flight that went with it (3 or 4 different glasses)....I am not sure why she needed a Baileys at the end for an after dinner drink....but she was warm on the way down the mountain. As you near the end of the meal they let you know when the next sled is headed down, and you decide when to leave. Even though all the tables were full, we never felt pressured to leave. The SERVICE was EXCEPTIONAL! They must pool their tips, because everyone who worked there smiled and would do anything for you. It was pretty obvious they worked as a team. It was a magical night and I can't wait to return.....don't miss this spot!!!!!!!!!! 2 Sleigh Fee @ 5.00 10.00 --- This was annoying, had no idea about it 4 Hefeweizen @ 7.00 28.00 1 Beet Salad 13.00 1 Elk tenderloin 39.00 1 chef special 45.00 1 wine 35.00 (I hope this was the "flight") 1 Gl Jermann Chard 15.00 1 Baileys 8.00 Total - 200.83*** So MUCH BETTER than any other dinner we had read more

The whole experience was amazing. Took a night time slay ride up to the top (make sure to bundle up!!). Once we got up there, there were lockers and even a change of shoes if needed! This place is awesome. Great for lunch on the mountain. Ski right in, take off your boots, enjoy the fire and eat delicious food - doesn't get much better than that. This is also a good spot to come in for a quick drink or just to warm up. You can ski in, take the snow cat, or snowshoe in. We had a fabulous time at Zach's cabin. The experience is what you go for. This is a family friendly restaurant. But if you have a small group or couple, request a table closest to the corner so you can see the mountains. We watch a snow storm roll in and it was beautiful. We just loved the whole experiences. Came here for dinner over Christmas break after a long day of skiing. The food was incredible, the service was wonderful, and the fur-lined crocs you receive upon entering were amazing. We ordered the foie gras with pb & j (sounds weird but was reaaally good), the famous elk, steak, butternut squash soup, chocolate lava cake, and way too much wine. Everything was delicious. If you're looking for an amazing experience and great food visit this beautiful establishment. Where do I start? You take a sleigh ride up one of the greatest mountains from one of the fanciest hotels(Ritz Carlton). The people on the snow cat are very knowledgeable and provide jackets/blankets. The entire look and feel is like as if you were at home in your fancy log cabin with a beautiful fire place. They have a great liquor/wine list, they even have a sommelier. The house made ricotta cavatelli was a very tasty appetizer, great with a glass of white wine. For dinner I actually spoke to the manager Frank and he convinced me to try the duck. I've always wanted to, but never have. He was very knowledgeable in explaining the dish and confident in his kitchens skills. The duck was cooked perfect, both the breast and the carnitas. The sauce added even more flavor and went together really well. The desert was a white chocolate cherry ice cream with a brownie, chocolate and nuts. Overall great experience and great food/drinks. If you want to impress your girlfriend or family members take them here you won't regret it. read more

Fun experience riding up in the sleigh and a very nice restaurant. All staff were great .... but the food ... the food was just not good. Very much what you'd expect from a Vail Resorts restaurant nowadays. I had the pork schnitzel, it was bigger than the plate, about 1.5 inches thick and so dry and overcooked it was basically unedible. The rest of our party had a similar experience, food was average at best... but very subpar given the price. read more

We had dinner there last night for our first night in town. Excited to have our first meal on this vacation. We decide to make a reservation at 9 PM and we're excited to take the tractor up to the beautiful cabin. As we arrived, we were greeted by a hostess name by Valentina. She was amazing as well as a tractor driver, Nico. However, our experience went south when Sarah arrived.. it felt like we were in a roller coaster. All she would do was bring us food, remove food , bring us food , remove food until she decided to tell us that the last tractor was descending and we had to get on it, which was a lie. The whole meal felt thoroughly rushed , unfortunately, for the amount of money you pay for each plate you should not be rushed through your meal. It would've been nice if we were able to sit down with a nice glass of wine and enjoy and savior each plate. Reservations should not be available at 9 PM if the staff wants to get out and does not want to provide good service. Nobody should be rushed through their meal . Especially being a 5 star dining experience. read more

This place was highly recommended to us by a couple of people at Bachelor Gulch resort! There were so many different cabin experiences on the mountain, but we are so happy we picked Zach's cabin. The food was impeccable & the wine list was huge. The sleigh ride experience was quite the adventure especially because it was snowing outside (Dress VERY WARM). They have an area where you can hang up your coats... Everything on the menu was delicious!! Literally not one bad thing. We ordered the oyster, foie graś, and cheese plate for our appetizer. I had the lamb chop & my bf ordered the Wagyu filet! We were so full, but of course still had the s'mores for dessert! I highland recommend this place & will visit Zach's cabin again next time I return to Beaver Creek! read more

Overall wonderful dinner. Very romantic. Food was amazing. Best Ribeye I've ever had. Starters were great. Drinks were on point. Josh our waiter was very polite and attentive. The ride up was absolutely beautiful.Stars were so bright. Little chilly, but they warn you of that and they have nice big jackets waiting for you. The crew on the ride up were also great. The only reason I give them a 4 is bc I think they could do a lot better job of confirming the dinner and explaining how the transportation to the cabin works. It was hard getting them on the phone. We checked in at the Ritz and stepped outside for a minute to take a picture and they didn't grab us for the first round of passengers up. We were so looking forward to a nice, cozy dinner at Zach's Cabin after skiing, but unfortunately we were completely underwhelmed. The best part of the whole experience was the sleigh ride up and down the mountain. The staff that helped with reservations and the sleigh ride were so friendly, helpful, and had interesting information to share during our ride up to the restaurant and back to the Ritz-Carlton. Quick tip: get a drink at the Bachelor Lounge at the Ritz beforehand, because you can take your drinks with you on the sleigh ride :) Our dining experience was no experience at all. We got seated and attended to right away, but there was simply no engagement from our waitress and it seemed like she was almost rushing us out. The place was definitely cozy, and I loved the decor, but the atmosphere just wasn't there. Entrees were pricey (starting at $50 a plate), but I expected that when I made the reservation. I would recommend the crab dip as a starter for sure - it was so delicious! If you're planning on getting the Prime Ribeye, I would recommend sharing it because it was humongous. All in all, the food was great - but it wasn't the full fine dining experience I was expecting. read more

UPDATE: I did not receive any follow up from management. I even left a message on their voice mail. What a disappointment that Vail Resorts has falllen so low in customer service. I really wished they would have contacted me and provided some reassurance that they are were working through the kinks and improving experience for this year, but they did not. We will definitely NOT go to Zach's cabin this Winter. We've been every year for the past 10+ years. Had to change my original 2 stars to 1. If I could give zero stars they would get such. TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT ORIGINAL POST: Been coming to Zach's for years... this year while the food was really good, they dumbed the experience so aggressively that it ruined the overall value. No white table cloths or center pieces on Christmas Eve. Those have historically been staples from an experience perspective. Except for the wine steward, the Servers were average. Again a historical strength. The new chefs food was great but the sides accompanying the entres were thin on quantity but good on taste. Overall they should be putting forth a much stronger effort to create a holiday dining experience to remember but are falling short this season. Vail Resorts is seeming producing a familiar theme of public companies... cut, cut, cut to boost the bottom line. Problem is that when they cut the small touches that make the vast diference, they lose the guests appreciation for the price /value relationship as it relates to high experience , high value resort holidays. Been coming to BC for 15 years and hate to see it slipping on its high experience positioning... read more

First of all you have to take a ride up the hill to get to this place dragged behind a snowcat spewing fumes from the diesel engine. Try to look at the stars on this ride (if you aren't sick from the fumes) because they are spectacular. The food was OK. I have had much better, especially for the price. I ordered a bottle of wine that I know retails for $30 in the store and paid $86! I know this is Beaver Creek and all but come on, 3X retail! I don't mind 2X, and expect it, but not 3 X. Anyway, I would not recommend this place. read more
