Eagle's Nest is a great restaurant atop the mountain near Lionshead Village. You have to take the Gondola up to actually get here, which I think is a very cool concept. There's a lot to do at the top of the mountain (Adventure Ridge activities) and Eagle's Nest is in the lodge. We were in the private party room for a wedding rehearsal dinner, so we did not actually eat in the restaurant. The food was catered by Eagle's Nest, though, so it was like eating from the menu. The private party area is quite large and provides great views of the mountains from all sides. The room is just encased by huge glass windows so you can see everything from the Adventure Ridge activities to the mountains to the Eagle River. Very beautiful, especially if it's clear and sunny (it was not when we ate here... sad). There's also a great patio area on the other side of the room with outdoor seating and more great views of the mountains. Definitely a great place to retreat after dinner with a cocktail or some tea. The food was very good and the service staff were very friendly. We had cocktails available and a good, large buffet menu. The desserts were lacking, but the dinner food made up for everything. I did venture down to the restaurant area and it looked quite nice. It would definitely be a nice place to stop for lunch or dinner after you've been out having fun on the mountain. Also a good pick for a private party for your small or large group. Good and unique location, for sure.

We loved the view particularly in the summer. We were there for BBQ night. And the pork was delicious. The view was tremendous as well.

FYI - you'll need to descend a flight of stairs to reach the front entrance from street level. My go-to sandwich is usually a Reuben so Joe's Famous Ruben Sandwich was an obvious choice for me, but I was quite disappointed in their rendition. The sandwich lacked sauce and flavor and was average at best. I could only finish half of it, and it actually tasted better when I reheated the leftovers in the microwave the next day. My daughter did however enjoy their child meal deal which included a sandwich and homemade ice cream. Service wasn't overly friendly either but was efficient. Joe's is a good spot to duck into when it's snowing outside and you need to get out of the cold and grab a quick bite. I'd recommend asking the staff for their recommendation if you visit since the reviews are mixed or consider other local dining options.

We're on a trip back to Grand Junction- definitely a little hard to get to since it's during vails busy summer season so lots of pedestrians. Anyways food was so good that my husband was literally creaming in his pants. I had a terrible day and this food gave me my appetite back. I sent him in so I didn't get to see the inside but he said the people were so nice! Thanks so much for the good food, would've included photos but that shit was demolished.

This appeared to be a beautiful French restaurant in Vail, so I made a point to make this the first…read morestop in Vail. In fact, we were the first guests to arrive! As anticipated, the place was gorgeous...with a slightly formal air. Given that it was in the Vail Village (near the ski slope), my husband was able to enter the place in his rugged ski suit. Despite the ambiance, it was a bit dead. I was disappointed with the lack of French music overhead...though maybe it was on so low, I didn't hear it? There were plenty of breakfast-brunch options, but on the menu, some items were noted as taking 20 minutes (which we didn't have time for!), so I was a tad bummed about that. In any case, my husband chose this Huckleberry Bacon French Toast, and I ordered the Maryland Crab Benedict. For drinks, we both just ordered plain coffee. As expected, the foods were good. I was more impressed with my husband's choice, this super-fancy french toast. Not only did it look amazing, it tasted spectacular! Mine was good, but disappointing at the same time. I really liked the Crab Benedict, but I only half-liked the side salad (basically just Arugula with a few Walnuts and Figs). The total bill for these items ran over 100 bucks... which, was to be expected in Vail. However, for such a pricey breakfast, I felt that I should have absolutely loved it...but it felt short of that. Overall, I just expected a bit more from this breakfast experience. Again, the decor was gorgeous, but the ambiance wasn't fully there (because of the lack of music?). Service felt a bit short-skimpy as well. Foods were good, but mine especially (Crab Benedict) felt a bit lacking. Let's just say that I've had Crab Benedicts as just as good for half the price...and with better sides. Maybe lunch or dinner experience is better here? In any case, am glad we checked out the place...but I doubt I'll choose it for breakfast again.

From the artwork on the walls to various touches throughout, you have the feeling you are in Paris. The food, although good, was just that - good. The Steak Frites was, I'm sorry, not all that special. The Fries were very good but the steak was lack luster with the Béarnaise Sauce missing key flavors like shallots and especially tarragon. The Aubergine Roulade, roasted eggplant rolled with roasted red peppers, spinach, chèvre and herbs served over baby arugula, mimolette cheese, toasted pine nuts, pickled fresno pepper & aged balsamic reduction (!) was good. With all those ingredients it should have been spectacular. Nice evening but disappointing.
