First off I would like to say that I've always appreciated the Gas house and I definitely eat there anywhere from 5 if not more times a year. Not necessarily the most high in food nor is it expected. Which is ok. It Has a cool old school bar steakhouse feel to it. The last 25 years that I have been eating there it definitely has dwindled considerably over the years, but tonight was by far the worst and completely unacceptable. I took my dad out for his 76th birthday and was embarrassed by the lack of quality the food had, when it was brought to their attention they gave pretty much 2 shits. My fathers Grilled chicken was a 6 oz chicken breast cut in half to be paper thin and then grilled, why who knows, I am gonna assume they lost the ticket for a hot minute, he could barely cut the chicken when it did finally cut it legitimately crumbled and had zero seasoning I mean Zero. The burger was again seasoned with incompetence, the fries were or had been re dropped in the fryer at least 3-4 times completely saturated nothing but oil pockets... my wife got the steak bites and you couldn't even chew through it. A 5 year old has more talent cooking than what is being produced out of that place. It was legitimately insulting being fed food of that quality and believing it was acceptable. When it was brought up to them that is it was unacceptable the manager who has been there since the dawn of time "obviously burt out"...Clearly he dose not care what is produced out of there. Started telling me this is how they do it and that buffalo is a lean bland meat bla bla bla, sorry sir but I am not gonna tell you that I know food inside and out. It's what I do... so while you're feel good and confident about blowing smoke up peoples asses about your so called food knowledge and looking like a completely uneducated liar. Maybe just maybe listen to your customers and comp them when a comp is due. Because you and I both know it was trash. I would have rather taken $200 and flushed it down the toilet.......

First off, I cannot believe this place only has three stars, we got the five star treatment and our food to complement that rating. My friend and I went here after a sweet birthday camping trip. We ate outside on the patio which has that secluded garden feeling. Our first order was an appetizer of Rocky Mountain oysters. I had never had them before but always wanted to try. They were excellent by the way!... thinly sliced, with a taste and texture similar to veal. I ordered the Wagyu or Kobe beef burger, I don't recall what it was exactly but it was super tender and delicious, cooked perfectly to my request. With all the accessories, my burger was about 4 1/2 inches tall! The truffle fries were fragrant, delicious and perfectly cooked. Michael was incredible! Sincerely the best service I think I've ever had. It was my friends 35th birthday and, at the end of our meal, Michael brought her out a sweet little chocolate cake of some kind and sang happy birthday to her in Swedish. It was the kind of experience that everyone who dines out hopes to get. I know it's super rare to get that level of quality when dining out, and so I highly recommend going during the off hours. I am definitely going back there to sample more of their exotic game menu... perhaps the elk tenderloin next! Cheers! And thank you Michael for a memorable experience!

Service is always great and the food is amazing! I also recommend the crab cakes and clam chowder soup.

Thanksgiving at Gas House was spectacular! We ordered buffalo carpaccio and elk tidbits as our appetizers. For my entree I had the honey wasabi crusted baked oysters which were to die for. I also had a crab cake and tried a jackelope sausage which was a highlight of the night. I love the ambiance of this place- lots of animal head hanging on walls along with license plates scattered along the walls in building. The service is always great! I can't wait to come back and try more game meat and seafood!

Review # 3600. Rare Authentic Food - Games Meat. The Gashouse has something that we seek - games meat. We were looking for games meat restaurants when we are visiting Vail area mountain. We found this restaurant located at Edward and decided to have lunch there. The restaurant amenities with a lot of animals taxidermy. It is almost like a museum. Love the display. The restaurant has the bar area, main dining hall or outside seating. All are very well decorated. We started with Buffalo Carpaccio. The carpaccio is unique and games taste. Our nest app is grilled quail. It is one bird with very good marinated sauce. The grill technique is excellent. Meat is very tender. We also got grilled elk tenderloin sandwich. The coating marinated is tasty. The tenderloin also very pleasantly presented. I recommend this dish. Our visit is definitely a very good experience. Highly recommended. Service is good. Food is good.

This is one of our go to restaurants every time we travel to the Beaver Creek area! It is one of the few places that offer game meat and cook it well!! We got to sit outside and it was beautiful where we were seated. Shortly after a large party was sat and they had the sun in their faces. The waiter then moved one of the umbrellas slightly over to help and told them if the owner saw he'd be upset. We all laughed him off but shortly after the owner came to sit other guests and he noticed the table/umbrella moved almost instantly. He sat the guests and then came back and shifted the umbrella. The poor waiter looked scared and the other workers walked away as fast as they could Other than an owner who appeared to be aggressive towards his workers, the meals were delicious. Don't come here if you are expecting a fancy restaurant! This is definitely a lowkey, locals, hole in the wall place. We love it!

This was our first time visiting Vail. I asked the hotel staff where to eat games meats. They recommended Gasthouse. And it turned out to be a satisfactory experience. We were there for lunch. The interior got a lot to look at- around the walls and on the ceiling. We ordered grilled quail, Buffalo Carpaccio, elk sandwich. We don't get this type of meat in Florida. The dishes were all quite tasty. The service was good. I enjoyed the unique game meat dishes and their goofy interior decoration. I had a good time dining here.

This place is fun for all ages. Think hunting museum lol. We went on a Tuesday around 2:30 and there were only 2 other tables at the time of walk in. The phone kept ringing. Our waitress was nice and looked like she was running the entire place by herself. Another table arrived but luckily we had gotten our food already so only had to chase down for the check. The food was decent, nothing spectacular. The fried chicken was indeed moist but was in major need of seasoning. Please keep in mind I am from the south so we probably tend to over season our food but honestly this needed seasoning. The crunch was there, the tenderness and moistness from the chicken was there, but it was lacking the actual flavor to make this an outstanding dish. Macaroni was decent, fries needed salt (seasoning). The Hunters Stew was good. The kids chicken tenders were also good and kid friendly so that helped. The bar drinks were the best thing if I were to be honest. Although they may need a little help during the day, I would probably return to try the dinner menu as I saw a few interesting things listed that caught our attention.

We were hungry for lunch and saw this little place on the corner. What a great find! Although we've since heard the meat is the big draw, we each had a great meal. My favorite part of my meal was the truffle fries!! Prompt and friendly service, clean table and utensils.

Since I'd parked at Lions Head, before I returned to Denver, I considered the Vail Chophouse, as their menu looked delicious, however when I went inside, the live music was so loud - even with my noise-canceling headphones still in- that I still couldn't hear, and knew I'd blow out my ear drums. Enter: Montauk Seafood Grill, the perfect antidote, with an equally appealing menu, and a much more serene ambiance. :-) Given I was famished, I asked my wonderful server, Brenn, for recommendations, and she was - hands down - one of the best servers I've had, in a long time. She was friendly, attentive, honest, and an all around delight. I started by asking her suggestion, as to if I should order the "Blood Moon" or "Happy Coconut" mocktail, and she recommended the Blood Moon, which was delicious! I love Blood Orange, and it had the perfect combination of mint, to be both sweet & sour. I needed a mocktail, given I was driving back to Denver, after dinner. She then brought me delicious Rosemary Sourdough and Citrus Butter, as a starter, which was fantastic, especially given I needed all the carbs, from skipping lunch, riding so much, and from fasting the night before, for a prior medical appointment, that morning, in Denver, hence my late start, snowboarding. Then I ordered - and loved - the Point Reyes Blue Cheese Crusted Filet Mignon, medium rare, with the most delicious asparagus I've ever had, and I was grateful that they could make my truffle potatoes, whipped, instead of hash brown style. I ended my delicious dinner with a cappuccino, for the drive home. Perfection!

The original table they had for us wasn't great and they were more than happy for us to move. Now the bad part.. I think by moving tables we got a waiter that was too busy to attend to us. Now this is a fancy restaurant so we expect perfect service. It was fine but slow in my opinion. Now for the food, it was pretty tasty as usual. I had a delicious light salad and then had their signature salmon dish. Portion size was as perfect for both items! Others at the table were not as satisfied. The scallops were delicious but there were only three served, for how expensive this place was, they should have given a few more. The rice was not great. As for the other diners in my party, they were happy with their meals.

I consider myself a professional diner...meaning I am out 3-4 nights a week, and Northside Kitchen is my most favorite restaurant in the Vail Valley. I usually dine at the bar where either Connor or Brandon are not only offering service with a smile, but are also welcoming everyone who walks through the door! Their custom cocktails are awesome, but I go for their insanely extensive wine by the glass menu!! Caymus, Silver Oak, Duckhorn, Quilt, and about 40 other high end wines are all offered by the glass at Northside! Both 6oz and 9oz pours are available. The dining staff, are professional, pressed, and knowledgeable about wine, food, and professional fine dining service levels. The dining room offers beautiful white linen covered in butchers paper, with the perfect level of lighting to see both the menu and the guests you are dining with. The dining room and porch are modern and clean. The menu items, created by Chef Noah Bender, are delicious! Hand cut steaks and Prime Rib are favs, but don't be afraid to try their pappardelle Bolognese or the fantastic fresh "sea to table" black cod or trout! It's dynamite! You will find the service in the dining room attentive yet not overwhelming. Northside Kitchen to me is one of the most underrated fine dining restaurants in the Vail Valley!! Definitely go give this great spot a try!!

Some items on the menu are still solid, but other dishes have definitely declined. I understand that it likely has a high turnover, and when new cooks come into the kitchen, the consistency just isn't the same. That's unfortunate. The donuts, which used to be the best anywhere, don't taste anything like they used to. I'm not sure if it was just an off day, or if they have changed the recipe, but I only had two bites of the old fashioned and didn't bother finishing the rest. My husband's birthday breakfast--a $16 breakfast sandwich--was also very disappointing. It came without the sausage or the hollandaise sauce. The sausage was brought out later, no hollandaise sauce, with blame placed on the new cook by the lady, running the show and behind the bar. It was essentially just one scrambled egg sandwich with cheddar cheese. It was tiny tiny, and he only ate about a quarter of it. So, we are now having a second breakfast at home. Even more disappointing than the food was the woman running things, behind the bar. We didn't catch her name, but she was unbelievably dismissive and rude, which really soured the experience. Normally, when Jim, the owner, is there, things run much smoother. He is great, and we always enjoy talking with him. Unfortunately, today was so disappointing that we will not be returning. Wh

We were never left waiting for service. Bowen brought water right away and took our drink orders. I ordered a dirty Martini which was made perfectly. Cold, filled to the rim and balanced correctly. Everyone else seamed to like their cocktails. We ordered the warm Parker house rolls for the table. They were warm & delicious. Three of us ordered filets cooked medium. The others ordered trout, wiener schnitzel and the ribs. Everyone said their filet's were cooked correctly but all needed seasoning. The béarnaise sauce was light and tasty. The trout was good, ribs were good but not fall off the bone. The other person didn't care for the Wiener schnitzel. The spatzle was hard and crunchy. No flavor. None of us understood the side of scalloped potatoes and broccoli. The scalloped potatoes seamed like they came from a box. Then a few pieces of broccoli thrown on the plate. Not what you would expect from an expensive restaurant. For dessert, we ordered the banana puddin' panna cotta. This was honestly terrible. The key lime tart was refreshing and tasty. Although Russell's is a nice restaurant and our server Bowen was excellent, the food is not on par with the prices.
