What a cute vegan sushi restaurant! I am a sushi lover at heart so I was skeptical. But I'd honestly come again! The sushi was delicious, my favorite was the volcano roll. The dumplings were also very flavorful. The service can take a while but that's the only thing.

I was amazed! It is definitely not a casual restaurant, the vibe is great. Food visual is spectacular and the menu is quite unique. Although i'm not a vegetarian but I can enjoy most of the dishes very well. Staff is very nice and parking is easy to find.

Tried Nori, a vegan sushi spot in Austin, and it definitely delivered. The ambiance is super cute, perfect for a date night, but also relaxed enough to come with friends. Service was great from start to finish, and having parking available made the whole experience even better (not always a given in Austin). I ordered the gyoza and shared a few rolls, and everything was fresh and flavorful. Overall, I'd definitely come back, great vibes, good food, and an easy, enjoyable night out.

Love Nori and their vegan sushi quality is fabulous. But our experience at patio was terrible... they were full of flies and that literally made our dinner time super unpleasant. There were some seats available so we asked for them but they told us they were all reserved... honestly, half of the seats inside were empty. We had a baby with us and she was suffered from heat... yes, we should have reserved it but wish they were little more considerate.

Nori in the middle of guad feels like a fever dream but it's a classy establishment. Take advantage of happy hour since it's pricey for vegan sushi. All the rolls were top notch but my favorite was the shiitake which had the most complex flavors. Volcano was a second but it being deep fried helps. Dragon roll is so so- lacking some complex flavor. Special shoutout to the cauliflower wings! For the price we paid, I expected better service, felt pretty average. Great spot though!

Was running late for my reservation and thankfully they held the spot. Sat at the bar and Val took great care of me. They explained all the details for menu options including the specials, drinks that can be made zero proof, spiked or with THC. I saw they did a Mango Lychee daiquiri and asked if I could have a Lychee martini and they were able to provide. Awesome! Got the volcano roll and the spicy ponzu spring roll. Also they were in Happy Hour from 5-6:30, so a couple bucks off the items ordered. The volcano roll was amazing, you'd never know it didn't have fish in it. The spicy ponzu spring roll was difficult to eat. The roll was not tight enough to hold anything and after the absolute failure on the first one asked for a fork. I'm pretty good with chop sticks so this was disappointing to me. Got the lemon raspberry dessert and another amazing item. Just the right size. The restaurant was modern, loved the light fixtures.

Food The prices do seem high, but they portions are large for the entrees. The only regret is that we did not try the steak and I hope to come back for that in the future. The Katsu curry is excellent and would highly recommend. Service We had an engagement and birthday and wish I got a little more than a half dead carnation? They were a little late seating us despite the reservation and there was not really a place for us to sit down. Ambiance Such a cute place and nicely decorated. The seats were comfortable and they did seem to be busy even on a Sunday evening.

This place was amazing! The entire restaurant is vegan, and although I am the only vegan in my friend group, they all really enjoyed their food and drinks. The restaurant is dark and has a relaxed atmosphere, which I love. The service was pretty good. I recommend!

Rating: 4.3/5 [Doordash Delivery] Our first trying Nori was phenomenal. The second visit was still great, just not quite as impressive as the first. The prices are on the higher side, but the quality is solid overall. Dragon Roll ($16.49): Tempura asparagus, nasu (Japanese eggplant), and cucumber topped with avocado, sweet soy sauce, and sesame seeds. This was my second favorite roll. Spider Roll ($16.49): Soy paper roll with tempura seafood mushroom, spicy toona mix, avocado, radish sprouts, wasabi mayo, and unagi. This was my third favorite roll. Volcano Roll ($15.49): Deep fried roll with spinach, avocado, and sweet potato topped with spicy mayo, sweet soy sauce, chili sauce, caviart, and tempura onion. It didn't really taste deep fried, but I'm not mad. The the flavors were on point so it ended up being my favorite roll of the night. Chick'n Karaage ($15.49): Small portion for the price. The chicken was a bit soggy and didn't taste deep fried, though the seasoning was good. Nigiri Sampler ($20.49): Includes six pieces. The tomato "tuna" was interesting. I liked it, but my husband didn't. I couldn't tell what the salmon one was made of. The rest were just okay.

We always love coming to Nori for any special occasions. Nice vibe, great food, and always super helpful staffs. Always a pleasant experience with Nori. This time we ordered some happy hour menus, which I didn't know they had! We got two different types of baos and some rolls and nigiri sampler! The baos were nice, we preferred the chicken one over the bbq. The miso soup is the one thing we get all the time, it's just so flavorful and nice. This time it was a little bit salty. I would recommend everyone bring some friends and try different rolls together. I quite like Lotus roll myself, and my husband likes Dragon roll'

My friend and I really wanted to eat a healthy meal to balance out our previous not-so-healthy food choices from the week, so we decided to be adventurous and try out Nori. Neither of us is vegan, but we had a pleasant and enjoyable meal. We ordered the Chik'n Karaage, Origami, Tempeh Temple, and Rainbow rolls. I appreciate how creative they made the sushi to spin fish and meat into something plant-based while still keeping it delicious. The only thing that was a bit of a challenge was the service. Our waitress forgot about us frequently, and it took multiple reminders to come back to get our order, for us to get our drinks refilled, and to get the check. I have recommend this place for any vegetarian/vegan friends who want to experience eating sushi.

I had low expectations for this place but omg so good!! I'm a bit of a sushi snob and every roll we had was flavorful and I loved it. Will definitely be returning. This spot is good for vegetarians and non-veg. The interior is cute too and they have an adorable patio

Came here on a date and the ambiance is pretty nice for that. The food was also impressive which made it even better. Chick'n katsu roll: creamy and tomatoey without being wet. The tomato texture is very much like tuna. 3.75/5 Sunflower: The spiciness of the chili and jalapeño is good and gives the roll a deeper umami flavor. I liked the crunchiness from the cucumber and the creaminess from the avocado. 4/5 Nigiri sampler: Salmon wasn't too strong but the green onions were a good touch. Tofu tasted like tofu skin and had a slight sweetness. Tomato was just tomato but the texture was so similar to tuna. 3.5/5 Raspberry Lemon "Cheesecake": More cakey than creamy since it's vegan but it was still good. The fruity sweetness of the raspberry was delicious with the tart sweetness of the lemon. 4.5/5 While the food is good and the craftsmen-ship impressive, it's giving fusion which I'm not very fond of. But still, I would like to come back and taste their other menu items.

The whiskey taste comes later. The tuna poke was good, it came with 5-6 chunks of raw tuna with some avocados, which sat on top of some seaweed salad, and had 5 pieces of tortilla chips to pair with. The trio roll and austin fc roll were both delicious. The trio roll had no flavor, as it had 3 different sashimis, but was perfect with soy sauce and wasabi. The austin fc roll came with eel sauce and their house sauce, it was good on it's own. I must have driven by this restaurant whenever I was on Parmer for like 15 years ... and never got…read morearound to going in. When I finally did, I discovered one of the best Japanese restaurants in Austin. Okay ... if you are going to pay $600 for an omikase then the omikase place is better. The tasting menu at Uchi is better. But if you just want Japanese without paying a gold brick and taking out a second mortgage on your house, Miyo Yakitori and Sushi is pretty damm fine. * * * a) Japanese curry is a utility dish in most Japanese restaurants ... and when you get down to it, in most Japanese homes. It is often what you serve on "cheap" night. Airport hotels offer it as the "free dinner" for tired travellers. The curry sauce itself here is standard issue. But they serve it with a Pork Katsu the size of Williamson county. And it is a very good Pork Katsu. That Katsu was good from Liberty Hill to Thrall and from Hester's Crossing to Jarrell. b) My carnivorous partner's Fireball Udon with Shellfish blew him away. Temperature wise and aesthetic pleasure wise. He raved about how good his udon was all the way home. c) Service was instantaneous. I think there was some sort of event horizon distortion of the space time continuum that allowed them to prepare the food and then go back in time and deliver it within a minute of it being ordered. Both of us were impressed. d) The service staff was as nice as any human beings could possibly be. * * * Great food. Great service. The folks who live in the apartment complex that Miyo is in are very lucky people indeed. Either the apartments are lovely and they get Miyo on top of that. Or the apartments are terrible, but they can still spend all their time in Miyo to compensate. Seems like a fair trade. **************** If you read the other reviews, There seems to be some controversy about this establishment. Miyo has fans and Miyo has haters. * * * Here is my read on the conflicting opinions: a) Earlier in the restaurant's history - Say about 2016, 17, or 18, The restaurant was not very good at all. I think at that time it had another name. b) There was a name change and quality went up. Sometimes when this happens there is an ownership change (or there is an owner who swaps out the management and cooking team to put in new blood.) However, things got fixed, they got fixed. c) Miyo's yakitori is apparently still not where it needs to be. I am not a huge Yakitori fan. If your broiled meat on a stick is not $80 an ounce Wagyu, Or amazing organ meats grilled in the Caucasus Barded with lamb fat and with farm fresh vegetables On another skewer for serious taste contrast ... If you are not at that high level, I don't want to pay for meat on a skewer. There are people who DO like Yakitori. They do NOT like the Miyo versions of that. * * * Yakitori is less than 20% of Miyo's menu. The rest is sushi or wonderful cooked dishes. Lay off the skewer food and you can do well here.

Parking for the stores is a quick right turn after driving into the complex. Seating is available both indoors and outside on a shady deck. This is not a large restaurant, but the menu is extensive. We opted for edamame to start, a few skewers of yakitori, and 2 lunch special bento boxes. We were amazed by the amount of food in the lunch bento boxes. On top of that, everything tasted fresh and was obviously freshly prepared. My salmon was way overcooked but the tasty teriyaki sauce made up for it. My daughter's pork looked fabulous and she was very pleased with her choice. I thought that pricing was very reasonable given the quality and portion size. We ended up taking food home. We thoroughly enjoyed our extended lunch and would not hesitate to return.

This isn't necessarily an every-week dinner for us price-wise--hibachi can definitely be a splurge--but if we could justify going every week, we absolutely would. It is hands-down some of the best hibachi I've ever had. And hibachi seems simple enough: great meat, fried rice, fresh vegetables, sauces. But when it's done REALLY well, apparently there is a huge difference, because Japon has completely ruined mediocre hibachi for me. Everything tastes incredibly fresh, the meat is always cooked beautifully, the vegetables are perfect, the rice is ridiculous, and I could probably consume an irresponsible amount of their sauces. The food is actually so good that it inspired me to start buying fresh vegetables, good meat, rice, yum yum sauce and sriracha and making my own little version at home. It isn't Japon, obviously, but that's how much we love this food. What really deserves recognition, though, is their consistency. We've visited both locations, they've been absolutely SLAMMED, and somehow the service is still exceptional. We've never sat around forever waiting to be acknowledged or wondering where our server went. The staff is attentive, friendly and efficient every single time we've gone. The atmosphere at both locations is beautiful and lively, and of course there's the whole experience of watching your meal prepared right in front of you. Even the little details make it feel like a complete dining experience--from sitting down with a cold Topo Chico and fresh lemon to the little orange treat at the end. It's one of those restaurants where you leave already thinking about the next time you can justify going back. Yes, dinner for two can turn into a splurge. But we've never walked out feeling like the experience wasn't worth it. The quality of the food, atmosphere and consistently excellent service keeps us coming back. If you're craving hibachi in Austin, Sushi Japon is absolutely worth trying. Both locations have been fantastic for us. 10/10. If my budget had its way, we'd be regulars. When we finally sat down at a regular table, we waited about 15 minutes without a server coming by. I eventually flagged a server down, and we got our order under way. We requested the manager stop by to tell him about the issue with the reservation and the fact that his hostess needs additional training, and surprise, the manager was also not helpful. He did apologize for our reservation being lost, but blamed it on the system and denied any responsibility for taking care of it - basically just told us that "life is life". He did not offer a discount or any kind of relief for the setbacks or bad service. I wasn't expecting the world or anything, but good hospitality dictates that you do more that basically tell us to just deal with it. For the food: the sushi was pretty gnarly - it looked like somebody was angry at the fish when they were slicing. Most things needed salt. Steak and fried rice was good, but the vegetables were pretty much raw. I can forgive quite a bit when it comes to service, especially on graduation/mother's day weekend. There were so many servers bringing different plates. One was even so thoughtful to notice and bring my mom a new napkin when hers had slipped onto the floor. We were very impressed with everyone we interacted with, even those who waited to allow us to pass as we walked to the back of the restaurant. You just felt the pride and courtesy extended by everyone working there. Well done by creating this ambiance and culture. Beautiful place and wallpaper, attentive servers, and fresh seafood made this visit a memorable one for us. Plates we loved: Blue fin nigiri (we ordered it many times) Hama chili (bring me a spoon!) All the hand rolls Gyudon Wagyu beef, crispy beef and broccoli (my mom doesn't like raw sushi) Shag roll Tasmanian ocean trout Sake Tom kha So many great flavors. We found it very consistent with Denver and can't wait to come back!
