We had the wood-ear appetizer, delicious! My husband ordered the soybean paste noodle 炸醬麵 It came with the hand pulled thin noodles, so so Good. I had to order my favorite stir-fry knife sliced noodle with beef, the braised beef w/ tomato flavor and the al dente noodles were the perfect combo ^_^ To add some protein, we had the popcorn chicken, good flavor and pretty big portion. It came in smaller chunks than other restaurants, easier to eat. Their wait staff is friendly and attentive. They checked on us a few time during lunch. When my husband was struggling with the long noodles, they came over with the scissors ;) The place is not too big but bright and clean. People living in Edison are so lucky! We have to drive 30+ min. We willI bring friends next time so we can try many other noodles and dishes they offer!

Ambiance: There are no garbage or debris on the tables and the floors. There is a tv that shows their food products. It is an average noise setting for this restaurant. Kelp salad: My friend said this salad was pretty good and was not what he expected it to be. Popcorn chicken: The popcorn chicken was cooked well and has just the right amount of flavoring. Lanzhou braised noodle: My friend said this was delicious and he would definitely order this again next time. Big plate chicken with noodles: I was not expecting this dish to be huge. Two people can share this dish if you do not eat that much like me. Lanzhou cold noodles: My other friend said this was delicious and hits the spot on a hot Summer day. Lamb burger: This was delicious when you eat it at the restaurant instead of bringing it home to eat. Pork burger: Cooked to perfection and has just the right amount of taste. Make sure you eat it at the restaurant and do not bring it home as it will not taste the same. Overall: My friends and I would definitely come back here in the future to try out other entree and appetizers. This is just a few minutes away from Hmart and has plenty of parking spaces.

We ordered the Pickled Pepper Frog with Chicken, Stir Fry Chicken Giblets and Throat and Stew Tofu with Crab Roe. The overall vibe? Pure happiness. The Food Breakdown: Pickled Pepper Frog with Chicken An absolute genius pairing! The bullfrog and chicken are incredibly tender with zero gamey taste. Creatively, it's a 10/10. My only tiny critique is that it leans a bit salty, but it's perfect when paired with white rice. The more you eat, the more addictive it gets! Stew Tofu with Crab Roe You have to get a scoop of this. The golden crab roe sauce perfectly coats the silken tofu. It's savory, sweet, and velvety, which beautifully cuts through the heat of the other spicy dishes. I could honestly down three bowls of rice just mixing it with this sauce. Plus, the portion size is huge and super affordable.

Soup dumplings are good but not the greatest in comparison to other spots but... still good. Beef with chili was good but fried to oblivion. Wish it was a dry stir fry. I was surprised that the ambiance and decor lf this restaurant is like from an unpainted water color art and so 2D. I think it was beautiful. The service is nice and I love their open kitchen concept. The braised pork belly was divine and so tender and flavorful. I do plan to come back for their pork buns and other menu items. Before I forget - I got their mango mango smoothie drink and I love that they use real fruits (at least I think so). I will come back for this too!

Their website promised pickup in 20 minutes. I left the The Heldrich Hotel and made the ten minute walk, only to find my order already being bagged. Efficiency like that gives a person hope. Hope, as it turns out, is fragile. Back in the room, I opened the containers immediately. Spicy beef noodles with hand pulled noodles in a beef and pork broth, along with steamed pork soup dumplings that had been spoken of with reverence online. The dumplings were cold. Not warm, not cooling. Cold, like they had been waiting longer than I had. They had fused together into a single tragic mass. When I tried to separate them, the dough tore open and the soup filling spilled out into the container, abandoning its purpose. How this happened during a ten minute walk is a mystery. The more likely answer is that it did not. The noodles were at least hot. The flavor was fine. Not offensive, not memorable, just present. You eat it, and it disappears from your mind almost immediately. This is a place people seem to love, which makes the experience feel like a clerical error in the matrix. Perhaps it was an off night. Their digital menu via QR code is convenient and I like that you can open separate tabs if you're here with friends. Basically an easier way to pay separately. Ordering was easy too! Portion: 5 The portions are huge. Even though the bowls aren't as big as typical Vietnamese restaurants, but it is plenty of food. The summer rolls are the typical size but not over stuffed with noodles which I really appreciate. Their spring roll order came with 4 spring rolls but only one piece of lettuce, 2 pieces of cucumbers, and very little mint. It's definitely not enough to wrap all 4 spring rolls. My pho, with added bok choy, had an abundance of bok choy and the beef and brisket slices were hidden under the noodles. Flavors: 5 The soup is more delicate than typical pho broth, but I appreciate that it's not as sweet and some other restaurants make it. The last time I ate here, the broth was hotter than today, but their chili pepper sure made up for the lack of heat. It was so spicy! So good! The Pho Spot has been my go to pho place but now that it's taken over, I'm glad to see that the menu has expanded and the pho is still good. I do really miss the tripe though. They don't have that on the menu anymore.

Food was fine but I did need to spice it up with sauces Now on to my recent experience. I was meeting some people that wanted to come here and I just wanted to be out so I said why not? Little did I know, that they actually changed management in the past year. I did notice that they have gone toward a full halal menu which is actually really nice to see. I ordered a spiced pho bowl and I did not need to add anything. It was the right amount of spice that I like which I havent seen from other pho shops. Service was very speedy.
