Came here for a weekday lunch. The place is long and narrow with a few seats. You order at the counter and they bring the food out to you when it's ready. Ordered the pork belly baos, pork soup dumplings and beef noodles. The pork belly in the baos was flavorful and tender. The boas themselves were pillowy soft and it came with crushed peanuts. It was a good bao except I felt like it could use some sort of pickled vegetable to cut the richness. The pork soup dumplings were steamy and filled with a good amount of soup. I wish the soup was a little more flavorful but the meat itself was tasty and the skin was nice and thin. The beef noodles were full of flavor and came with tender beef and fresh noodles and veggies. Overall this is a solid option for Shanghainese food. The prices aren't bad and everything tasted pretty authentic and like it was made fresh.

The staff was really nice and attentive. It's a small, cozy shop. Most people got take out while I was eating here. I got the Dried Pork Spicy Noodles. The good news is the sauce is served on the side so you control the spice. There's also some other sauces on the table. I used Soy and Vinegar in addition to the spicy sauce. The noodles were tasty but the pork was really odd. Like it seems like more pork fat? I don't know but I couldn't really eat the pork.

分量很足,牛肉切的很厚而且很多(下面还有厚厚一坨),劲道不散!而且老板不收小费,实诚中国人!As a international student, I definitely love this restaurant!

I'm no noodle connoisseur, but the spicy beef noodles were nothing to write home about. The dish was decently priced ($12.50) and definitely not disappointing. Just overall, meh. The pork soup dumplings, on the other hand, were real good--plump and full of flavor. The service was standard: order up front and they bring it out. It was notably quick, which was a plus. There is seating inside that is basic but suitable. Overall an average experience at Noodle is Calling.

Amazing alternative to traditional ramen spots. The soups packed a lot of flavor and it was a delight to have during the cold weather. The meat tasted great and paired up nicely with the vegetables. Noodles a bit thick but tasted great none the less. The bao was good but could've used some fresh scallions or salad to add a fresh taste. The Sichuan dumplings were awesome. I could've had the sauce as a soup by itself. The spot is small but comfortable and the service was great. Clearly family owned. Only issue is parking (as it is for everywhere else in New Brunswick), but since I was in the area it wasn't an issue for me.

Dumplings and noodles are always my ultimate comfort foods! Thankfully Noodle is Calling has both! Their colorful soup dumplings are three different kinds: Pork, Pork & Shrimp, and Pork & Squash. The noodles I got were hand-pulled with some melt-in-your-mouth pork belly and spicy kimchi. The perfect treat! Delivery through Uber Eats was fast with no issues. Looking forward to trying some of the other noodle dishes!

I came here for lunch with my boyfriend. The food came out very fast --within 10 minutes after we ordered. The waiter was prompt and helpful. The food was very good and worth trying. My favorite is the Sesame Noodles. I wished the dishes that were labeled as spicy were actually spicy. I added the house chili oil but it didn't add much spice to the meal. This place is located on George St. so parking is hard to find. Most of the parking spaces on the side of the street are blocked off for outdoor seating or due to construction. The safe bet is to walk to this establishment.

Noodle is Calling and we shouldn't have answered. You order at the counter. There seems to be a nice selection of items on the menu. Isn't the pandemic sort of over? I was surprised when our server bought the food to our table in takeout containers and paper plates. Kind of unappetizing if you ask me. One bite of the pork belly bun and I'm like, oh man it's dry AF. I didn't even know pork belly could be dry. I didn't want to finish it and gave it to my companion, he eats anything. Next up, the colorful soup dumplings. It was not piping hot. I like it when the soup inside the dumplings burns my mouth, they were lukewarm. The pork was not spoiled but it tasted odd. Can't put my finger on it. The dry noodles with pork and cucumbers were okay. Nothing about it stood out, again, it was served at room temperature. I like my food hot. No pics because everything were in takeout containers.

The food here is hit or miss. My roommates and I love the beef noodle soup here but whenever we get anything else it's just okay or not that good. Still though, reasonably priced, fast and convenient, and hits the spot when you just need some Asian food in the New Brunswick area.

I had a wonderful time at Noodle is Calling! I went with a friend of mine for dinner before a show at the State Theatre. There's 2 tables you could sit at and bar seating if that's not available. You order at the counter, and if you're sitting in they bring your order to you. We ordered the House Bao, Pork Soup Dumplings, Crabmeat Soup Dumplings, and Steamed Pork & Chive Dumplings. They came out in paper plates which I didn't really mind, but because me and my friend were sharing, I had to request extra plates. The Bao was very soft - melted in the mouth. Steamed dumplings also very good - the meat to wrapper ratio was perfect. The soup dumplings were tasty, but the only thing I wish was that our spoon were a little bigger to hold the soup dumplings with haha. Nothing was piping hot which some people might not like but I actually preferred. We were in and out within 45 minutes. I wouldn't recommend this to those looking for like a fancy date night, but if you want some pretty good food for a fair price, definitely check it out! I have to come back again to try their noodles.

    13. Mount Qi Pork Noodles $12.95 (as of 05/24)

A small and thin noodle restaurant in the heart of New Brunswick. Me and my friend went in to go grab some grub here and chose the Mount Qi pork noodles (spicy, $12.95 as of 05/24) to go. Very delicious and flavorful noodles, the broth was also delicious! Service was also quick and easy to pick up. I definitely recommend based on experience I've had with other noodle restaurants.

Noodle is Calling is a fine noodle joint. Even with some stuff competition in the area, NIC still boast a pretty good menu. Their Pork Bao Buns, topped with brown sugar, were pretty good as well! The noodle dish was also decent and filled with some of my fav vegetables (bok choy and kimchi)

My boyfriend and I were craving soup dumplings and wanted some place close by so we decided to give this place a try! We noticed it opened up recently but hadn't had the chance to come until now. When we first got there, the place looked open but the door was locked so we ended up calling the number listed on Yelp to check. One of the employees answered and was shocked to know the door was locked. He came right away to open the door for us so if that happens to you too, just give them a call! You order up at the counter and then can sit anywhere you want. The place isn't too big so seating is limited! The staff was very kind though and brought the food out to your table after it is done. They only have bottled water/drinks so you have to pay if you want anything (I think you might be able to bring drinks in too, but not too sure)! For food, we ended up sharing the steamed crabmeat soup dumplings, pork house bao, Shanghai spring roll, and spicy dried noodles with beef. We were stuffed by the end of it and even had extra noodles to take home! The crabmeat soup dumplings were really flavorful, but the only sad thing is that when the dumplings came out, some of them were stuck together. So when we tried to pull them apart, they ripped and the broth came out. The Shanghai spring rolls were so crispy and filled with soft veggies on the inside. They give you duck sauce with the spring rolls too. The pork house bao was my favorite item that we got! The meat was so tender and flavorful. They top the meat with some crushed peanuts which really complimented the flavor of the sauce so well! The spicy dried noodles with beef was also really good with the noodles being cooked to just the right consistency! Even though I have a low spice tolerance, it wasn't too spicy for me at all. It's the type of spice that creeps up on you after a couple of bites but still very manageable. Overall, great place on George Street to satisfy any soup dumpling cravings. Would probably come here for takeout next time, but definitely check it out if you're in the area!

This is easily one of the best ramen spots I've ever tried. They offer a great variety of broths, ranging from clear to creamy and spicy. My personal favorite is the Spicy Miso Ramen; it's the perfect balance of richness and heat, accompanied by incredibly tender pieces of slow-braised pork belly. I also love that you can fully customize your bowl with different toppings to make it exactly to your taste. You also cannot skip their appetizers. This time we ordered the Rock Shrimp Tempura, which was fried to perfection without overcooking the shrimp, and the sauces were the perfect addition. You also need to try their Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice, the Bao Buns, and my absolute favorite: the Ika Geso Karaage, which comes with the most delicious mayo dipping sauce. The cozy ambiance perfectly complements the food, and the service is always attentive. It's a BYOB spot, which is a nice touch, and they'll provide glasses upon request. Like many people today, I'm mindful of what I spend dining out, so I expect good value for the price. Since I live in South Jersey, I brought the food home to eat later. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The ramen included four slices of chashu (pork belly), but three of those slices were entirely fat with no meat. I understand that pork belly naturally contains fat--that's part of what makes it flavorful--but receiving pieces that were essentially all fat made the dish unpleasant and felt like poor quality control. I called the restaurant to share my concern, but the response was underwhelming. I was simply told the manager would be informed. When I asked if there was anything further that could be done, I received no real resolution--just a basic explanation of what pork belly is. As someone who understands the product, that explanation missed the point. The issue wasn't what chashu is--it was the quality of what was served. Everything else about the meal was fine, which is why I'm giving two stars instead of one. However, customer service matters just as much as the food. A simple effort to address the issue or offer a solution would have made a big difference. As a former business owner, I've always believed customer satisfaction should be a top priority. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here, and for that reason, I won't be returning.

One major plus: street parking is way easier here compared to the Bayard St location. No circling the block endlessly or needing to pay metered parking -- we found free parking right out front, which made the whole experience feel way more relaxed. Any downsides? Hook, line, and sinker--Rayaki is a reel catch! ;) NOTES/TIPS: **BYOB **Plenty of parking in a shared plaza lot. **Wheelchair-accessible. Clean restroom. **Easy ordering with a checklist-style menu.
