    Chicken pho

Such a good to go dinner. On my first cold night, all I wanted was something like soup and why not pho. The broth was flavorful and the quantity provided was adequate for the price paid. I did not enjoy the rolls as much and the sauce provided did nothing for the flavors. Will definitely return on my next visit.

Simply, great Vietnamese food in New Brunswick. The restaurant is simple and a popular place for takeout but great to eat in as well. The pork and shrimp spring rolls (A4) are massive and delicious, paired with an excellent peanut sauce. We both ordered bun (noodle bowls) which were MASSIVE and covered in "toppings". LOVE that many come with a little egg roll as a part of the bowls, but the noodle bowl with grilled chicken, shrimp & eggroll (N5) was full of protein and the vinegar fish sauce "dressing" was perfect with the vermicelli rice noodles. Highly recommend and looking forward to coming back.

When I tell you how hard this broth hit my frozen bones from the wintry weather?! It was blustery out and we came in for a delicious pho soup and it did not miss! We were greeted by the staff very warmly. She helped us with our selections and we were very pleased with how great it was. The place was spotless and it was a very chill vibe. I snapped some shots below.

So good! Ordered the veggie noodles with egg rolls and a vegetarian banh mi. Both were so delicious and the vegetables were fresh!

A charming Vietnamese stop in New Brunswick, they have a variety of dishes to try and something for everyone. We were craving pho on our most recent trip and this shop was just down from Smashville where we had eaten the previous night. The shop was empty aside from one other patron. We were greeted by a hostess/cashier and she told us to sit where ever and took our orders. I got the pho steak and husband got the pho steak/brisket combo and we split an order of pork/shrimp summer rolls. The price is a bit higher than what we usually pay back home but once our food came it was well worth it! The summer rolls had a bbq style pork and were wrapped very tightly so the filling didnt spill out when you bite into them, a common problem I run into. The pho was steaming hot and served in a huge bowl. Once it cooled it was very flavorful and tasty. As we sat we did see a lot of take out orders going out, so much so the kitchen did get a little backed up. (We heard people had to wait a few extra minutes to get their orders) Overall if you're craving pho and don't mind paying a little extra this was a nice, quiet restaurant off the main drag serving a great bowl of pho.

This place is so nice and clean and the staff are really nice and attentive! The food is prepared quickly and tastes fresh and delicious! The mint green tea lemonade was so refreshing and the banh mi chicken sandwich was filling and tasty!

It's a good Pho place. I like Vietnamese food. We started with a good fried eggroll with lettuce and basil to wrap. Then we had a chicken dish and a noodle dish, both delicious. We finished off with a fried banana--an overall satisfying lunch. It was near Rutgers University, and there was a parking deck nearby. I recommend it if you search for a decent pho place near the Rutgers campus. Nicely decorated. Near campus, so many young students come to eat there. Also, the service was attentive and good.

The food is so good and the portions are fantastic! I had the cabbage salad and chicken and the shrimp with vegetables and rice. Simple but so tasty! You can really feel it when people put in the extra touch. Pride in their work. Food made with care. Delicious!

What a great Vietnamese restaurant! My friend, Andy C. invited me over here for dinner and I was not disappointed with the decision at all. Everything was delicious and authentic. I will be there again in a few days to get my Asian cuisine fix.

Indochine has become a staple in my New Brunswick experience. Great prices, quick service, awesome to get takeout from and doesn't lessen its quality. Had dinner here tonight and me and my boyfriend got the grilled chicken bahn mi. Interior design is charming and welcoming, and very casual. I would recommend anyone who is new to the area to check it out!

Excellent selection of vegetarian options. The owner/hostess was hospitable and offered me a steam tofu option with the vegetarian pho..they made it spicy and gave me sliced cut jalapeños. Well flavored with sufficient amount of vegetables, tofu and rice noodles. Look forward to visiting this place next time I'm in the New Brunswick area.

If you're trying Vietnamese food for the first time, I wouldn't eat here. I'd recommend Pho Today or Pho Anh Dao because they are Viet owned and have authentic dishes. I wanted to try this place because it was closer and I was craving for Vietnamese food. I ordered on DoorDash Pho Tai and the Beef and Onion Rice Platter (R3) and it came within 20 minutes (that's quick in my opinion). At first glance, I appreciate the takeout containers bc you can pour the soup directly into the takeout bowl and eat from it. Other pho restaurants would require you to have a spare bowl or eat from home. The meat portion in the pho tai is okay for the price (a bit pricy from what I'm used to) and the broth lacks flavor. Im not sure what is it but its not what I'm used to. As for the Beef and Onion Rice Platter, it was dry and didn't have much sauce. I took a bite and didn't want to continue eating it. Although this place has Vietnamese dishes, it doesn't seem authentic to me. I personally wouldn't eat here again.

My all time favorite restaurant and a true New Brunswick gem! I've been coming to Indochine since I was a freshman at Rutgers almost 10 years ago! Since then, I have introduced my sisters, parents, and anyone willing (or not) to try Vietnamese food to Indochine. Glad to report no one has been disappointed yet! The menu is vegetarian friendly and has an entire section devoted to vegetarian options. My go-tos are the vermicelli noodles with tofu and vegetables, vegetable egg rolls, and vegetarian banh mi with seasoned fries. *I may or may not be salivating as I write this out.* The fam is a big fan of the vegetable pho and vegetable spring rolls. The Vietnamese iced coffee, Vietnamese hot coffee, and Thai iced tea are also fantastic. More importantly, over the years and through COVID, the quality of the food has not changed. I enjoy the take out as much as I do dining in. I can't comment on the authenticity of the food, but this was my first experience with Vietnamese food and this is the standard to which I compare all other Vietnamese establishments. Nowhere else has lived up to the expectations Indochine has set for me. The only way Indochine could be more perfect is if it was open on weekends.

The system worked beautifully at first. Their website promised pickup in 20 minutes. I left the The Heldrich Hotel and made the ten minute walk, only to find my order already being bagged. Efficiency like that gives a person hope. Hope, as it turns out, is fragile. Back in the room, I opened the containers immediately. Spicy beef noodles with hand pulled noodles in a beef and pork broth, along with steamed pork soup dumplings that had been spoken of with reverence online. The dumplings were cold. Not warm, not cooling. Cold, like they had been waiting longer than I had. They had fused together into a single tragic mass. When I tried to separate them, the dough tore open and the soup filling spilled out into the container, abandoning its purpose. How this happened during a ten minute walk is a mystery. The more likely answer is that it did not. The noodles were at least hot. The flavor was fine. Not offensive, not memorable, just present. You eat it, and it disappears from your mind almost immediately. This is a place people seem to love, which makes the experience feel like a clerical error in the matrix. Perhaps it was an off night. Perhaps I caught them at the exact wrong moment, but on this particular evening, dinner felt less like a meal and more like a misunderstanding.

It was the best part of the soup. It was so savory. The marinated egg was soft and the yoke was perfect. The noodles were tender. The pork strips were soft and tender. I think they were too thin. Like many people today, I'm mindful of what I spend dining out, so I expect good value for the price. Since I live in South Jersey, I brought the food home to eat later. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The ramen included four slices of chashu (pork belly), but three of those slices were entirely fat with no meat. I understand that pork belly naturally contains fat--that's part of what makes it flavorful--but receiving pieces that were essentially all fat made the dish unpleasant and felt like poor quality control. I called the restaurant to share my concern, but the response was underwhelming. I was simply told the manager would be informed. When I asked if there was anything further that could be done, I received no real resolution--just a basic explanation of what pork belly is. As someone who understands the product, that explanation missed the point. The issue wasn't what chashu is--it was the quality of what was served. Everything else about the meal was fine, which is why I'm giving two stars instead of one. However, customer service matters just as much as the food. A simple effort to address the issue or offer a solution would have made a big difference. As a former business owner, I've always believed customer satisfaction should be a top priority. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here, and for that reason, I won't be returning.

The lettuce was fresh and crisp, and the tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, and feta cheese were all fresh and flavorful. The grilled chicken cubes were juicy, tender, and seasoned perfectly. The salad was beautifully presented, and the olive oil and lemon dressing brought everything together. My only complaint is that the grilled chicken portion was extremely small, especially considering the price. I would also have liked a slightly larger overall salad. Despite that, the quality and flavor were excellent, and I would definitely order it again. Hummus - 5/5 The hummus was smooth, creamy, and full of fresh flavor. It paired perfectly with the bread and was one of our favorite appetizers. Beautiful presentation, excellent taste, and very fresh. I just wish the serving size had been a bit larger.
