I like vegetarian food quite a bit, but found the dishes here to be subpar. The dishes were overly salty, as if to compensate for the lack of taste. Servers were super friendly and they have 2 stories to the building - the music they played made for nice ambiance :) I can't say I have much experience with vegan food - a lot of my previous times trying it had been at Buddhist canteens and they were pretty flavorful! The Mac and cheese was definitely cheesy, but there was something missing with the dish. My favorite part was the roasted broccoli and mushroom. The vegetables were very flavorful and smoky. The cheesecake at first threw us off, but the taste grew on us over time. I'm not sure if I would visit again, but it was a unique experience for us. read more

We were thrilled to find out they are wonderfully dog-friendly--they kindly accommodated our medium-sized dog right inside by the front door so we could all enjoy the air conditioning. The front-of-house operations were flawless, handled entirely by two incredibly hardworking women. The cashew cheese was so good! If I didn't know it was vegan, I would've assumed it was regular Mac n cheese. For dessert we ordered the lemon cheesecake ( which was cashew cheese as well ) . The first bite is perplexing because the texture is a little different to regular cheesecake, but I got used to it pretty quickly! It was sweet and flavorful. I have gotten takeout from Veganized for my birthday every year for the past few years. This year, I'm recovering from oral surgery so I can eat the components of my favorite wrap but I can't bite into it and chew it as a wrap. I called to explain the situation and ask if I could get the filing of the wrap over rice instead, which did not seem to be a crazy request but was refused. I was not given the option to pay a surcharge for this change but simply told no, they wouldn't do it, even after checking with the chef. I have really enjoyed Veganized's food over the past few years and I love that there's a vegan restaurant in the area that's doing so well, but I am incredibly disappointed and unfortunately will not be returning. read more

What an amazing place! I sat at the bar. The two girls that waited me were AWESOME! (Meagan and Zoe) I had the Equilibrium cocktail. Very refreshing. I had the Gyro plate and Mini Mac. I was really looking forward to trying this restaurant and made a 6 o'clock reservation for a Saturday evening. When we arrived at 6 I was told there was no reservation for 4 but they would put us in the side room. We then waited 15 minutes for a server; and another 15 for her to take our order. We waited another 45 minutes for our food. Our server was very sweet but you can't tell customers that the kitchen is busy on a Saturday evening! If you can't handle the volume then don't fill the tables. I had to track someone down to pay the bill. Needless to say, all of this really detracted from the food which was pretty good. We might have ordered more but we had theater tickets and couldn't spend another hour waiting for dessert. It's been a week and I'm still thinking about the burger and sweet potato fries. They were delicious! I went with a couple friends and everyone really enjoyed their meals. This place is a little pricey but the staff and quality of food are worth it in my opinion. As a vegetarian it's hard to find places with menus fully without meat. I often find myself having to modify signature dishes to exclude their star ingredient in order to be able to eat it. That's not the case here. The menu is specifically catered towards different types of vegan options. I had the cashew Mac and cheese and really enjoyed it. I came here because everything on their menu is plant-based, which I always appreciate, and many items sound so good. Perhaps a tad pricier than other places (even NYC) - I suppose probably because most of their food is also organic? Their default method of viewing the menu is their online menu that you access with a QR code, which I don't mind, but it sounds like they can provide physical menus if you prefer. My biggest critique while skimming over the menu was that some dishes don't really have much protein, and I knew I would be hungry quickly after eating them if I got them. I ordered the Mash-N-Gravy, which had a small piece of crusted tempeh as the protein, roasted carrots, truffle mashed potatoes, sauteed kale, and an herb gravy. It was pretty good, though a bit too salty. And the piece of tempeh was - again - small. The wait staff was very friendly, seemed very passionate about working there and the food there, and was able to take my order pretty quickly and brought my check shortly after I asked for it. The food took a little bit of time to come out, but it wasn't an unreasonable wait (but it was a little past the brunch/lunch peak time on a Sunday that I went). I wanted to thank the vegan community for being so welcoming every time I enter Veganized. I was afraid that they would do a blood test to prove that everyone who enters is a vegan, but they seem happy to serve all types of people. I guess not everything you hear on the news is true. Veganized is a great restaurant no matter what your relationship with animal products are. Most of their menu items are vegan takes on traditional dishes (burgers, Mac and cheese, etc.), and they usually do a good job of recreating the flavor and always do a good job of tasting killer. The mackin cheeze in particular is very tasty and I doubt anyone would guess it's vegan if they didn't know. I always recommend the hen of the woods appetizer when it's available. One of the servers told me that they receive it from a local forager, which I found fascinating. I bet you could get other mushrooms from them too if you catch my drift, but I did not confirm. The restaurant itself is charming, but I'm pretty sure the paintings on the second floor are haunted. Not in a bad way, just in a "you might see a ghost while dining here" way. read more

FANTASTIC! I've tried vegan restaurants from the dive to the fancy in various cities, and this is among my favorites. The atmosphere is quirky and classy, the food is incredible, and the service was so nice! Our appetizer was the wood grilled mushrooms, which our server told us was their best seller. It was so simple and delicious. I had the Reuben, which was so incredible - the tempeh, cashew cream, beets, and kale - OMG so many of my favorite things, and it was just done soooo well. I've come to veganize several times with a friend who is vegan and my DSW program. The first time I came I was very skeptical as I don't typically eat vegan food, but wanting to support my friend and knowing they could definitely find something here that wasn't the one or one of two options on a menu I decided to give it a try. The inside has a cool atmosphere I'm pretty sure it was a sports bar before and so has this updated sports bar vibe, that's a little bit more chic and a little bit more old timey bar which in my opinion is a positive thing. The food I've ordered here has been the lentil salad and mushrooms typically. I have really enjoyed them every time I've gotten them. I love lentils and my wife doesn't, so I don't typically make them at home and so it was nice to find something here that I enjoyed eating. I'm also a fanatic for mushrooms so having it is an option as an appetizer or side was great. If you're vegetarian or vegan you've likely tried this place already but if you have any you definitely should.
