Early dinner date (5pm) with a beautiful woman! Restaurant fills up quickly after 6/6:30pm
    Mike M.

My wife and I have dined at Roosterspin several times over the last 18 months and have enjoyed a fantastic dining experience each time. We've brought friends and dined solo. We've explored the menu and (I) explored the cocktail menu. The food has always been exceptionally tasty, service on point, atmosphere welcoming and fun (hip?!), and cocktails expertly crafted. We last ate here on Saturday, July 12th as part of a fun date evening. I thoroughly enjoyed a Paper Plane cocktail and my seafood fried rice entree and my wife was more than satisfied with her Bibimbap. My seafood fried rice was superb - light, refreshing, and clearly fresh ingredients - delicious! Honestly I was really pleasantly surprised as I decided to make an audible from the fried chicken sandwich, which I've had before and is soooo good. My wife loves the Bibimbap as it's delicious, filling, and a healthy option. Special shout-out to the staff - the service has always been exceptional including when we were with a table of 6 and the atmosphere in the restaurant is trendy and welcoming. They have karaoke rooms in the back, which you can't hear from the dining area. The great music playing in the restaurant always makes us talk about coming back for karaoke lol such a great music mix. If you haven't visited RoosterSpin, I strongly recommend it for the food, fried chicken, and superb bar!

This is sort of my local cocktail bar when I want a drink that I know will be made well. The bartender Fabio is really passionate about his craft and brings an enthusiasm to mixology that feels rare these days. The menu is interesting and has inspired a few at home cocktails. Notable mentions are the Pepper Plane and a drink on the Smokin' old fashioned menu that's set on fire. Recommend if in the NB area.

Visit Roosterspin during happy hour (3-6) for a relaxed atmosphere and a solid selection of appetizers and signature drinks. The hibiscus margarita is a standout--definitely worth trying. I also enjoyed the snowcorn sushi roll, especially with the entertaining presentation. Alejandro and Fabio are excellent bartenders, so be sure to tip them generously!

Just not that good. Not only did it take an HOUR for our food to come out. I didn't really enjoy it that much. It's just fried chicken, some salty spicy soy glaze. nothing crazy. it was crispy but like an hour cmon. the buffalo sushi was weird but my sisters bf enjoyed it. to each their own the kimchi fries is literally just that-- cheese and kimchi mixed on the side. Wouldn't return. Bad parking, bad food.

We went on a Monday night at 5pm and we were seated immediately. My mom and I had items from the happy hour menu. Everything was delicious and decently priced! Definitely would come again.

The wings were amazing and the staff was super friendly. However, the happy hour drink deals weren't the best compared to local bars around the area which was disappointing. The ambiance was not impressive unfortunately, we got there during happy hour and it was completely dead for two of the hours we were there for. Hoping they change their happy hour deals to get more people in the door. Check it out for yourself if you haven't been there because the chicken wings were really good!

First review of the year goes to Roosterspin. I've been to the Westfield location several times but this was my first time dining at the NB location ( I did takeout once). Biggest bonus point for this location is that they have a full bar, unlike Westfield which is BYOB. I didn't get an entree but was also able to try two of their most popular drinks ( I got the tea one and my friend got the one with the bubble, forgot the name ). I like that the drinks are so whimsical and the presentation is so cute. I went tonight ( a Friday ) and there was a live DJ, which was really nice. All in all, I will be back. 3/5 stars full now because I want to try their entrees again since it's been a while.

Visited Dec 2023 Cute spot to take a date or meet up with friends, one of which is moving way over to St Louis Missouri, waaaaaaah! This was the spot we chose to meet up for our last Jersey outing, for good:-((( Letting go is never easy but so necessary... I digress! Nice place for casual dining, aesthetically pleasing, kinda speak easy feel, dark and sexy! Food was good, tried many things, too full to finish but well satisfied. The service was excellent, forgot the name of the bartender/server but she did an excellent job attending to us. Drinks were delicious. Go give it a try if you're in the area! That's all YELPies! Enjoy!

Monday -Friday happy hours run to 7pm. However the price for the alcohol won't make you too happy - $11 for a flavored margarita and $7 for a house wine. The live DJ was wonderful but then you have to shout to communicate, not a place for a date or a quiet conversation. Food was delicious but the selections were extremely limited. Mango salad was delicious and sufficient to share for up to four people. Always double fried chicken was juicy, tender, not greasy. The veggie bowl was surprisingly tasty.

This was our first time at Roosterspin and their fantastic happy hour deals will have us back for more. Food: the crispy shrimp app was our favorite. The sauce was sweet and sticky, and the shrimp perfectly fried. The cheese curds were okay, not sure I'd get them again. The fries were more like potato wedges, but delicious nonetheless. They were super crispy, with a soft pillowy interior. The fried chicken left a bit to be desired. The texture was spot on, but it was lacking a bit of flavor (maybe more sauce)? The sandwich was our favorite. Perfectly cooked, well seasoned, and the honey butter chips were addicting. Ambiance: this is a pretty cool spot that offers a karaoke room in the back and has a huge shelf wall of vinyls. It's a really neat place with more modern decor. Service: service was a bit slow. We were the only ones there but found that we were waiting for our water to be refilled. However, our server was very nice and our food came out rather quickly.

Not much ambience and very low key on a Sunday, but a solid neighborhood joint in New Brunswick. Across the street from the train station, Roosterspin is a convenient spot for a quick bite. The steamed buns with bulgogi were meh - they definitely needed some sauce. The fried chicken sandwich with spicy soy garlic glaze and cilantro-jalapeño slaw was a MUST GET. Sloppy and saucy, just the way it should be. On the sushi roll side, I was surprisingly impressed with the spicy tuna roll. But don't be fooled, this isn't your typical STR. With crab meat on top and yam crispies coupled with a proper kick of spice, this was the best STR I've had in a while. Solid spot, will be back.

Rather than go out to eat for Valentine's day, I decided to get wings from here to take home for dinner. They were delicious! Double fried ultra crispy Korean wings and drumsticks. The pricing was reasonable compared to other wing spots in these inflationary times. $29 for a large order consists of 13 large pieces. $24 for a normal order consisted of 10 regular size pieces. Some of the drumsticks were huge. I wonder if I can request only wings next time. The flavors were great - soy garlic and spicy soy garlic.i couldn't help but notice the restaurant has a really nice environment and a full bar. Maybe I'll stop by for dine in one of these days.

Stopped here for lunch after taking the train from the airport, conveniently across from the New Brunswick train station and quick service at the bar. They also have karaoke rooms which will have to come in the future for a group present overall food really good and service really good and a big Space for a big groups

I've been here twice with groups of 6. We've ordered everything from the burgers, to the chicken sandwiches and fish and chips. I ordered a Chicken Caprese sandwich and I enjoyed it the first time. The 2nd time I ordered the Veggie Wrap which I decided to turn into a sandwich. That didn't work so well. The burgers were good too. The items all had the option of fries or salad. All the food was good, except the fish and chips was batter and very little fish. The old school ambiance is really nice. The restaurant has an upstairs and downstairs dining area, each with its own bar. If in the area for a show, Tavern on the George has it down to a science getting all the groups in and out in time. Although, the food is nothing special, I'd come here again.

A short walk later, I found myself at Destination Dogs, a place I had seen in photographs that suggested capaciousness. In reality, it is smaller.  This is not a complaint, just an observation.  I remember once hearing something about the contents of small packages. At 12:30 the place was full. Packed with humanity and appetite. I was seated quickly, as if someone had anticipated my hunger in advance. From the bar came the sound of construction crews discussing their midday rituals. Apparently this is where they come on Fridays, to repair themselves while they repair the city. It explained everything. Service was swift and attentive, a minor miracle given the crowd. I began with a Scotch egg, an item that seemed to have wandered in from another story entirely. I ordered it for that reason. I had always imagined my first Scotch egg would be eaten in an English pub under low ceilings and older regrets. Instead, here it was. Perfectly crisp, warm, and generous. The universe does not ask for permission. Then came the main event. The menu is an atlas of hot dogs. Domestic. International. Proteins in tube form arranged like possibilities. There is even an invitation to build your own, which I accepted. I attempted to recreate a favorite from Crif Dogs, a thing called the Spicy Redneck. Bacon wrapped dog. Pickled jalapenos. Coleslaw. Simple in theory. Destination Dogs improved upon it in every way that matters. The bacon crisped with purpose. The jalapenos spoke clearly. The coleslaw behaved. The hot dog itself seemed proud to be there. All of this, plus a 16 ounce beer, cost me about twenty five dollars with tip. A small price for order in a chaotic universe. Five stars. Not because perfection exists, but because this comes close enough to make the argument.

The staff is super friendly and know their way around the (very large) menu. Honestly, they have a hot dog or sausage combo for just about everyone. I let the bartender pick for me, and she nailed it. She chose an all-beef dog that was basically a Big Mac in hot dog form. I was skeptical at first, but wow this hit in all the right ways. Awesome presentation, even better flavor. I could've easily eaten three of these. I also tried the onion rings, the bartender warned me they were just "meh," and she wasn't wrong, lol. For round two, I went with an all-beef dog topped with pastrami this is basically a Reuben-style dog. Another win! Great flavor, great presentation. Overall, I'd totally recommend Destination Dogs if you're in the area. Just a heads up, if there's a game on, it gets loud. Like "can't-hear-your-friend-next-to-you" loud. But if that's your vibe, you'll love it.

The cornbread was great; I'd give it a (9/10). Shortly after, our food came as I had ordered the fried chicken entree, which came with baked mac and cheese for an extra $2. From the bite of the mac and cheese, it came out really good; I enjoyed the crust and seasoning, and I would definitely order the mac and cheese again (10/10). I would give this restaurant 5 stars if only the chicken had come out better. It had a good crunch, but the taste was honestly pretty bland. I wanted some juice from it, considering it was dark meat, but it was also fairly dry. It wasn't the worst fried chicken I've ever had, but it definitely didn't make the list (5/10).
