Let me start by saying I've tried to go to B2 Bistro several times, but I can never seem remember that I need to make a reservation because they are POPPIN on a Friday or Saturday night. I called on a Sunday evening and to my surprise...NO WAIT! We arrived around 7:45 pm and had a table immediately. There are lots of tables indoors and also a pretty large outdoor section as well. I peeped a private room as well for events, which is good to know. The inside gives a rustic vibe, but a bit more elevated. We realized that they have Happy Hour all day on Sunday, so I grabbed one of their many beer options and my girlfriend chose their $7 Margarita. We also ordered their handmade mozzarella sticks to start, which were absolutely amazing. Crisped to perfection and a flavorful sauce on the side. For our main meals, I decided on the B2 Wings with Old Bay and she had the fish tacos. The wings came out nice and crispy, so I will definitely have to try their Mojito wings the next time we stop in. The fish tacos were generously portioned and also very fresh and tasty. B2's food and drinks have consistently been great, and the atmosphere is relaxed but slightly elevated - that's why I keep coming back! I've been here around 7 times so far, and it's been great every time. The speed of service does slow down a little bit on very busy nights, but that's expected at a casual eatery. They have great happy hour specials, and everything we've ever tried from the main menu has been spot on. The pizzas are wood-fired to perfection, the sandwiches are delicious, and their salads are super fresh. During our most recent visit, the happy hour mozzarella sticks and Old Bay wings were a hit! Always amazing service and food at B2 Bistro. Such a great spot with a beautiful view of Farrington Lake. Started with the Calamari and it was seasoned and crispy. The marinara and Thai chili that goes with it is superb. Steaks sliders came with a mouthwatering Au Jous and they were very tender. Got the Salmon with the pea risotto and it was delicious. Celebrated my birthday here with a party of 13 and have no regrets. I made the reservation in advance, and they were able to accommodate us sitting outdoors for a beautiful Sunday lunch. All day HH on Sundays as well. Service was good despite us being a large party and the place being packed with other parties and folks eating. No complaints about the food, and the margaritas were tasty and refreshing. There is a large parking lot and complimentary valet. I will definitely be back! read more

I used to love this place. The last few times I have visited we have had to wait over 20 minutes with the menu, waiting for someone to ask if we even wanted a drink. The glasses are always filthy. I asked someone for clean glasses only to be replaced with dirtier glasses. I feel within the first 5-10 minutes your server should at least acknowledge you and ask if you'd like something to drink. Then explain the kitchen may possibly be backed up. The longest we've waited has been at least 25 minutes with many empty tables. That is not ok. read more

Right next to a lake and should be awesome in summer days . Lots space inside and the ambience was great .. tables were all crowded and wish they had more employees to help. Waitress were so busy (understandably) but it takes time for them to come back and ask. Bar was busy too. Liked the varieties of IPAs and beers on tap. Bartender was good and helpful but because of the crowd it just takes a bit... just ate snacks and food . Bufffalo cauliflower was average . Could have been better . Wings were good . I've been to B2 Bistro a few years ago and really liked the ambiance, especially the deck that looks out onto the river. When we were looking for a place to have my mother's 70th birthday celebration- it seemed like a great place. We asked for info along with a few other venues and B2Bistro got back to me the quickest and with the most information. I mostly worked with Iliana, the catering and events manager. She was so helpful and made sure our party had everything we needed on the special day. All of our guests raved about the food and drinks, as well as the service and restaurant itself. Most of our guests were from Bayonne/Jersey city, so they can be quite particular; there wasn't one complaint! We had two vegan guests and they were accommodated. I didn't catch our female servers name but she was very friendly and attentive. Our other server, Igor was outstanding. He brings "service with a smile" to a whole new level! Both of them made it very easy for my siblings and I to relax and have a great time. We couldn't be happier with how the day turned out, and my mom had such a great time and was very happy with the restaurant as well. read more

My wife and I were first-timers here. We were there for her friend's birthday celebration. The place was nice and cozy. It seemed that they had a good lake view, but we couldn't tell because it was very foggy at that time. Our server, Bobby, was very exceptional. He was very friendly and and attentive to our needs. Guys like him were rare. If you happen to have him as a waiter when you visit, you're in luck and in capable hands. Please tip him well. He is worth every penny. The food was good, for the most part. My grilled pork chop was tasty and not dry. Wish it had more sauce, though. My wife's Seafood Risotto and her friend's crispy duck were very delicious. Her friend's husband, however, got the Dragon Sushi Roll Combo and said that it wasn't bad, just not that good. He wasn't impressed. Overall, I think this place is worth coming back to. Stopped in for lunch 13 people at bar 2 people on three tables each. Waited 14 min be fore any kind of contact. Got drinks waited another 13 to take order . Ordered 4 lunches 1 app. 3 lunches came same time as appetizer missing 1 order. First 3 lunches were 3/4 eaten when I finally got bartender attention. Then he says the general tso's special is still in the oven. Had to cancel after waiting that long. Been going there for yrs very slow and poor service as of late. When you pull into the parking lot it's always crowded because they host a lot of parties. But have no fear they have valet service. Once you get in they greet you right away. As busy as it was in the restaurant area, We got seated within five minutes without a reservation and it was a little after 130. Once we sat down, the waitress came over and offered us menus and asked us what we wanted to drink. We did not order from the bar at this time. We placed our order.we did seem to have to wait a long time for it, but we understood because the restaurant was crowded and we were hungry and this place does not offer you bread which I think they should because the prices on their menu are pretty hefty. We got some bread pre-buttered fire roasted. Only 4 small slices. Anyway our food came. I ordered the lobster tail skirt steak baked potato so it was all on top of the potato. My lobster tail was good, the skirt steak was good but cold. The baked potato lacks a lot to be desired. Presentation was nice. I think they should consider changing it from a baked potato into a garlic mash or something of that caliber because the baked potato didn't cut it. Everyone else's food tasted fine. We also did not get any dessert, but the desserts looked awesome. The big downfall to this place if you're looking to have a conversation, you really can't have one. It's way too loud. It's one of the loudest places I've ever been to and I've been to this location about five or six times in the past. you either have to go on a weekday obscure time in order to hear yourself talk. B2 is one of the best sushi places around. But recently, due to coronary artery disease, I had to change my eating habits. Vegan, and worse, no oil, nuts or white flour. I always check first. All the rice, brown and white, a chef told me is pre-treated with oil to make it stick, so even vegetarian is out. They do have an appetizer, edamame, that I can eat. Today I checked on the seaweed salad and was relieved to hear that todays's chef, said it has no sesame seed oil, just sesame seeds. WRONG! It was loaded with sesame seed oil. If you don't know the answer, or can't be bothered to read the label, just say so. I still love the ambiance of the place, and will continue to bring guests there, but I will no longer believe the "chef" knows what he is talking about. Lesson learned. Google it first. read more

The food was good here. I had beer battered fish and chips, it was a good portion and tasted great. They also know how to make good drinks. If you like martinis, this is the restaurant to go! This place is super cute! Food: 4/5 the portion sizes are big just how I like it and the food is very fresh. I especially enjoyed the Brussel sprouts and fries! Def recommend. The menu is long and extensive so there is definitely something for everyone. Ok, so in an area where your options to grab a quick drink aren't so plenty (unless you venture to New Brunswick or Princeton), it's nice to find this hidden gem located off the busy Route 130. It's easy to miss in the night, except when you run into a ton of cars on a rubble parking lot. The place is quite spacious and it looks like there was a party of sorts in one section. I made my way past the dining room and to the wrap around bar. The options are quite plenty for drinks, including cocktails and fine wines. Additionally, you can also enjoy the lake in the backyard with additional seating and even a private gazebo too. I'll have to come back here when it gets nicer in the summer to try the food. Chose this place for a date night during the week. Sat right down at our reservation time despite it being fairly crowded. They appetizer special was oysters, so we got a dozen. They were nothing to write home about, not bad or fishy, but not exactly fresh and not much taste. My wife got braised short rib which ended up being mushy, my pasta dish was ok, not bad nothing special. Old fashioned the alcoholic lemonade were both very good. We've had been here before and had a good experience so we will most likely give it another try. read more

Came by recently on a random weeknight for happy hour with some friends and the food was just ok this time around. The service was spectacular, but we sat inside by the bar and the restaurant had a strange odor. The mussels scampi was hot and delicious and was great to dip fries and bread into. Their crabcake wasn't too impressive and you end up tasting more of the extras then the actual lump crab meat. The oysters were a great deal at $1 each for happy hour, or so we thought. There wasn't much flavor for them despite how big they were. Their happy hour menu wasn't too big nor did we feel it offered many specials that were a value. Came here on a Wednesday night and discovered it was oyster night. Local East Coast oysters were a$1 each so we ordered a dozen and shared it amongst a few people. To be honest I've had oysters more plump and tasty elsewhere, but we didn't get sick and I always feel that is such a plus and they were only $1 so no complaints! Our group is also had a few diet restrictions, but our server was so flexible and nice about it and had a lot of foods with sauces on the side. It ended up being a pricey meal this time around since we ordered seafood apps but the food and service were great. They did seem a bit busier than normal and we had to flag our waitress down a few times. We also started eating outside, but we were quickly brought in due to the impending storm. We've eaten there several times and the food is consistently good. We usually request Bobby but he was serving the patio and it was way too hot out. So we had Victoria. Bobby is a tough act to follow and but she was excellent. It was a pleasure to dine there and we all felt it was because of her. This was my second time and B2 Bistro but the first with my girlfriend. On both visits, I was able to get a table right by the water, and the views were absolutely beautiful. We came for brunch and had the Uncivilized Mule and Farrington Spritz for cocktails. The Farrington was similar to a mojito, and it had a nice balance of sweetness with the alcohol. She enjoyed the mule. The crab cake benedict was as delicious as it looked. Both crab cakes sat on English muffins, and they never lost their crispness, even with the egg yoke running over it. Everything was amazingly seasoned, including the potatoes. She expressed the same sentiments about her shore benedict and its flavors. For dessert, we ordered the apple and waffle sundae, but it wasn't the best. It was too salty for our tastes. We look forward to making more visits here this summer. This place was a nice spot to come to for lunch. They have a decent size menu with plenty of options for everyone. They have a dining area, a big bar area with high top tables as well, and a nice outdoor seating area during the warmer months right by the water. The appetizers took the show for this meal for sure! The calamari had a light breading which brought the attention to the actual squid which was perfectly cooked. The Thai sauce to dip the calamari is, dare I say, better than the marinara sauce. The lobster tots, a new menu item, was scrumptious. Everyone at the table devoured them. I got the shrimp and linguine fra diavolo style which hit the spot. The shrimp was perfectly cooked but the sauce was everything. You could tell it was no jar sauce and it was homemade with the perfect amount of heat. I usually am not a red sauce girl but I made sure to finish every drop of that sauce. The salmon was enjoyed by my mother and brother and was part of the clean plate club. The cauliflower risotto was surprisingly delicious, you wouldn't have guessed it was a vegetable. Chicken Wing Review: I honestly thought these wings were mid. The flavor tasted like lemon pepper instead of Scarpariello but taking a bite of the wing with the peppers did elevate the flavor. I wish the wings were a bit more crispy on the outside. They are cooked in the wood-fire oven that they use for pizza which may be why they don't get as crispy. read more

On to the pizza which was eaten at home: While I didn't expect anything extraordinary, I was horrified to find, once again, hair in the pizza. Dined here recently with my daughter and if I could give 0 stars I would. I have no clue why this restaurant is always packed with cars. To begin the service was awful, extremely slow then the server brought us a water pitcher with melted ice cubes and paper covers from straws stuck on the bottom of the pitcher. Clearly it was removed from another table used and placed on ours. The food is extremely overpriced for what you are given. I asked 6 servers to please bring some bread for my meal. Not one did until 30 min later when my food was cold. Also ordered a pizza to go. Awful like cardboard. I called multiple times the following days to speak to the manager. My call was never returned and I suspect he never received the messages. I would never return there. Even a lake view can't compensate for the awful service and food.
