Hands down, one of the best dining experiences I've had in New Jersey. From the moment you walk in, the ambiance is incredible, beautiful, energetic, and completely immersive. The entire staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, and the hospitality made the night even more memorable. The food was excellent from beginning to end, the cocktails were creative and beautifully presented, and every detail felt thoughtfully executed. Between the atmosphere, the food, the drinks, and the service, Mezcal delivered the complete experience. We had an incredible night and will definitely be back. Highly recommended. -- Jeffrey Umaña @jeffrey.umana

Father's Day a day earlier and fortunate to have reservations at the trendy "New York vibe" Mezcal. Modern Mexican steakhouse with fish entrees. Lily T was our server and she was great especially as we had a 3 year old and she took pictures all evening. Appetizers were great and so were entrees (skirt steak could be seasoned a bit more) Entering was an experience and the décor inside was awesome. Appetizers hand cut fries, roasted carrots, guacamole. Main course Halibut which was amazing, salmon also very good. Jumbo crab cake great. Skirt steak only a bit off from my son in NY (this is a steakhouse) Drinks served really cool especially water for our grandson. Worth a return for certain

"Soon to be Famous" añejo, tequila, mezcal, passionfruit, turmeric, chili pepper, lime. Good but a little too sweet for me.

Great drinks, food, and fun! We had a reserved table for 6, and parking was easy across the street in a business lot after hours. Inside is gorgeous and feels like a club, with a nice lobby, beautiful interior, and a live DJ playing great music. The DJ was so good we actually asked if people dance, but our server said it wasn't really that kind of place. Honestly, it's rude for the music to be that good then. Service was excellent. Drinks and waters were refilled all night. My favorite cocktail was For The Gram. It was very balanced and came with a sage joint. Soon To Be Famous was good too but it was sweeter than I usually like. The Spanish Octopus starter was tender, perfectly cooked, and delicious. For my meal, I had the Mezcal Mixed Greens Salad with my choice of Salmon, and both were really tasty. Dessert was a tall Coconut cake and Fried Ice Cream with toasted coconut flakes. Both were good, but I wanted the coconut cake to taste more coconutty. NOTES/TIPS: **Limited parking, can park across the street after in the evening. **Wheelchair-accessible. Clean restrooms.

Went there for a friend's 50th and honestly wasn't expecting it to be this packed on a Monday night - says a lot about the place. It's not the kind of spot you'd notice just walking by, but clearly people know about it. Loved the vibes too, crowd was a great mix of ages and the whole place just felt inviting. Food was a little pricey but really good, drinks hit the spot, and the bar setup overall was just solid. Staff were super friendly too, quick with suggestions whenever we needed them and kept checking in on our group to make sure everyone was taken care of. Definitely would go back for some more.

My husband and I love going to the sister restaurant 618 and finally were able to snag a reservation for Mezcal. The indoor decor is like a modern lounge and the bar is impressive with the wrap around fire. We were seated at a small table for 2 near the bar. I wish there was a bit more clearance area between the bar and our table. As when there is a large group standing around the bar and being rowdy, it almost feels like they are on top of you and bumping into your chair. We ordered the no bullshit drink which they light on fire and it was quite a show. It was the perfect balance of spicy and sweet. The appetizer we decided on was the seasonal ceviche and honestly we were very disappointed. Not only was the portion size small (done in 2 large bites), it was lacking flavor. I think it needed more salt as well as citrus tang. I think a big factor was that the mango inside the ceviche wasn't ripe. We decided to go all out on the entree and got the Tomahawk steak for 2 Oaxacan style. This dish also came out on fire, I feel like there's a theme here with fire, haha. Our favorite dipping sauce that accompanies the dish was the homemade chimichurri sauce. My husband was a huge fan on the street corn while I loved the creamy mashed potatoes. My only concern was that our steak had a lot of tendon in this particular cut. This meant about a 1/4 of the steak was inedible and chewy. I was a bit upset over this because based on the price you would assume you would receive the best cut of meat and be able to eat the whole thing. We were celebrating a birthday and the waiter brought out a ice-cream cupcake free of charge. My favorite part was that he didn't make the restaurant sing happy birthday. He just handed us the cupcake, said happy birthday, and went on his merry way. It seems this restaurant wants to put a wow factor on their dishes for social media and influencers. Many items come out on fire, are revealed from lanterns, have dry ice on them, just presentation decisions meant for taking pictures or videos and posting. As the service was amazing and on point we will return to try out happy hour.

This restaurant is visually stunning and has such a cool ambience. Perfect for date night or a night out with friends. The drinks menu is so fun! The food was delicious and our server was friendly, patient, and offered good suggestions. I'd love to come back!

Wow this place is great. No wonder it's so hard to get a reservation! They go all out on presentation...lots of wow factors. But that doesn't mean they skimped on the quality of the food. We all really enjoyed everything we had. I especially liked the Lobster paella risotto, the cauliflower tacos, and the guacamole. The lobster risotto was plentiful with 2 lobster tails. Cocktails are fantastic, lots of great options. I had the El Jefe and I have to say it's one of the best margaritas I've ever had. We really liked the clever Ferrero Rocher dessert martini which was served in a chocolate bunny....drink your martini then eat it! What a perfect dessert drink. Service here was phenomenal. We had a wonderful server who was very knowledgeable and helpful. I would definitely come here again Food tips: guacamole, Lobster paella risotto, cauliflower tacos Drink tips: El Jefe, Ferrero Rocher dessert martini

The space is beautiful, a great spot for a date night. Our drinks came promptly, and with a little showmanship. Everything is fresh and well presented. A little bit over priced, but you're paying for the experience. What I really didn't like about the night was our service. Our server (I believe his name was Kevin?) was aloof and disinterested and frequently didnt come check in with us, especially with there being a long wait between our drinks and the food arriving. Ig didnt seem like he was that way with other patrons either.

If you want an incredible dining experience, come to Mezcal. From the moment we walked in, to the moment we walked out, everything was outstanding! We were individually greeted and each of our 4 party members had their hand shaken with sincere eye contact. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable of the menu, and gave awesome suggestions for food and drinks. She truly enhanced the experience. The food was amazing! The steaks were cooked perfectly and the sides were to die for. A special shout out to the street corn starter - this is a must. The interior was beautifully decorated and the music was at the perfect volume. You could have a conversation without shouting while still hearing the background music. The bar area with fire around the counter was super dope. You could spend a decent amount of money here, but it would be totally worth it. Make sure you get on over here and try it. 10/10

Mezcal is a vibe, as the kids would say. It's buzzing and bustling, and for a minute, I wasn't sure whether I was at Old Bridge, NJ, or a happening Midtown spot. We went in around 8 p.m. without reservations, and the earliest table was available at 9:30 p.m. The bar (it is huge) was full, but we snagged two seats within half an hour. They had Happy Hour on when we went (8-10 on Mondays), which explained the crowd, although it looked like this place was as always busy. We ordered some drinks and bites off the HH menu - the drinks we tried (Margarita and Pistachio Martini were good, albeit a tad too sweet). Their complimentary chips (fried in beef tallow) were a nice touch. The fish (halibut) tacos were great, and esquites were okay, a bit too much dressing for my liking. We only ordered the skirt steak and whipped potatoes for the main course - and this was what really disappointed. The steak (medium rare) was really chewy, and the two of us didn't finish it. I'm not sure we let it sit out too long, but a steak house not getting pricey steak right isn't a good look. We went way past closing time, and our bartender took forever to give us our check, and never came back for it. Another bartender took care of it much later, after many attempts of trying to flag someone down. I understand the long hours and the various tasks that need attending at closing time, but leaving customers unattended for this long felt very frustrating. Overall - amazing ambience, good drinks, promising food, and service that left us wanting - I might try Mezcal again to give them another shot, but this night failed to leave a mark on me.

What I love about this place is that it has the decor and vibe of a trendy Manhattan spot, but the manager and even the girls at the front are super sweet and welcoming. It has an upscale vibe, but still feels warm and approachable. The food is fantastic, the service is wonderful, the drinks are great, and the decor is beautiful. I haven't experienced the live music yet, but a couple of times I went on the weekends it had a fun party vibe with great music. If you're going on a date and want it a little quieter, I'd suggest going earlier in the evening. I also think there are certain days with live music and others that are more low-key. That being said, the $35 Chicken Parm is so fantastic you have to pay extra for the pasta. I was afraid to ask what the $235 Tomahawk Steak didn't come with. The meal is presented fabulously in 2D. The small portions are spread sparingly across the nice big long plates with a colorful manage of sauces framing your meal, giving the illusion that the serving is generous and worthy of celebration. The event ends long before your palette is quenched and you find yourself calculating that the experience may not be worth the cost. A notion confirmed upon receiving the check. The pretentious "social club" in title leads those blindly paying almost $20 for a cocktail in the expectation that not only their thirst will be satiated but their hearts as well. For if one is willing and has the means to afford such gifts for themselves, surely they can be persuaded to share their wealth. The attempt to combine a non traditional Italian restaurant with a privileged to enter social club becomes the pinnacle of indigestion as the shared sound system between the two venues is raised to a volume around sunset making it difficult to finish a discussion that started two minutes ago and impossible to start any new meaningful interlude. All this experience overload (and expense overload) comes with a real sense of regret when you realize upon leaving, that which seemed curious to you when you entered....I'm in a strip mall off Route 9 in central Jersey. Do yourself a favor, save your money and goto any number of the cool good time venues located in or around Old Bridge, NJ where the beers are still $5, the drinks are $10 and the cool vibes are free of regrets.

The sister restaurant Heirloom is a much better chef's counter setup where you are seeing everything -Dishes seemed to be regular menu type dishes (just smaller portions), as opposed to super interesting types that you would expect from a tasting menu -Beverage pairing was okay... didn't really love the wines For these reasons, I'd likely return, but just stick to the regular menu/ experience.

Looking for the best wings in the area? Look no further! Tap and Growler is your local corner bar…read morethat makes the best wings with the biggest variety of flavors, hands down. Always cooked crispy to perfection without having to specify, which is how it should be. No stretchy chicken skin or rubbery meat found here! Each time we visit, we get three orders of wings to split and usually another sauce or two on the side to try. We really enjoy the dry rubs and they don't skimp on the seasoning either. There's always plenty floating in the bottom of the basket for extra dipping. I couldn't go through all the wing flavors we've had since that would take quite some time, but you should definitely try the Chupacabra and squeeze the lime. The sweet potato fries with Chipotle aioli are definitely worth getting too. Just a heads up, this place can get REAL busy during peak times (ie: Friday and Saturday night), so plan your visit accordingly. There are usually 1-2 bartenders who are also acting as servers, so it may take a few extra minutes, but it is well worth the wait. Staff has always been friendly and welcoming. TLDR: Great local bar serving up the best wings in town. Give them a few extra minutes to serve you if you show up on a Friday or Saturday

You should order your food before your drinks because the food takes awhile but it is so worth it. The food comes out hot. The wings were so crispy and we had so many options for dry and wet sauces. I got the Nashville hot dry rub. They get a really good coat of seasoning in the wings but I did wish it was SPICIER given it was three flames (the highest). Looking forward to going back and trying a new sauce.

Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. He did pay attention to our needs and offered good suggestions, especially for my very picky daughter. The food was really good. Not mind-blowing, but really solid Italian food. Plus, the prices weren't outrageous. In an area that has a plethora of Italian restaurants mostly a stone throw away, it's good to find an Italian spot that is very good with prices that won't break the wallet. Definitely worth revisiting

Upon arrival, we were told the happy hour is apparently only allowed sitting at high barstools. (This was not explained when we called ahead of time asking for HH details). We politely asked if there was any accommodation that could be made for my elderly grandmother to enjoy happy hour elsewhere in the bar area (the rest of the restaurant was absolutely empty). The staff was extremely unaccommodating. We were rudely told to force my grandmother to sit up on the bar stools by the hostess and the blonde middle aged manager. They do not seem to be interested in attracting business from elderly customers as this is clearly not ADA compliant. We will never return.

The place is just as colorful and decorative inside as it is on the outside. They have different specials everyday and during the weekend they offer brunch specials along with bottomless mimosas. On Mondays they have buy 1 get 1 free margaritas. Happy Hour Monday-Thursday and other specials on all the other weekdays. My husband and I got some cocktails, guacamole, I got the chicken fajitas, and my husband got the birria tacos. I loved my espresso martini as it had a chocolate hint too it which I feel many places don't do anymore. My husband got the peach and mango belinni where the mango flavor was stronger than the peach which I loved because I am a mango fan. My husband wished his taco shells for the birria were a bit harder/crunchier but other than that he loved the flavor. I loved my chicken fajiatas as the chicken was still very tender. It also lasted me another 2 meals after this one. Although this place is a little on the pricier side I feel like you get your moneys worth. Plus the service is good and very fast.

There were 6 of us. The waiter gave us a small basket of chips. I asked if it was possible for another basket. He reluctantly said yes but never brought them. We asked another person and they didn't bring them either. My son wanted a steak quesadilla. The waiter said that the steak in the quesadilla was chili rubbed and the only way to have it plain was to get the up-charged $10 steak. That's absurd! My 3 year old would definitely not want a chili rubbed steak. I ordered chicken quesadillas instead. They were just ok. Nothing special. They didn't come with anything so I ordered rice and beans. I found them to be overpriced and not worth it.
