Calamari
Ashley B.

My husband and I frequent Death of Hospitality restaurants, our favorite being 618 and had to come try Elizabeth's for our anniversary after hearing such great things. Straightaway when you walk in the vibe is very 80's. They had a bunch of CRT designed screens streaming the Godfather and the Sopranos. They had painting hanging from the ceiling to make the booths feel more private. Our server Tommy was such a gem. He was always attentive, asking if we had any questions, asking if we didn't like anything and how he could assist. Appetizers we ordered the roasted artichokes and calamari. There is complimentary bread with olive oil imported from Italy but they only gave us three pieces in such a big basket which I found a little funny. Either give enough bread to fill the basket or utilize a smaller basket to make it seem fuller. The roasted artichokes were pure perfection. The sauce vierge with the tomato's added the right amount of acidity while the breadcrumbs gave it the extra texture and crunch. The calamari had the perfect amount of breading that it wasn't overpowering and the squid was still springy not chewy. I had the seafood fri diavlo risotto as my entree. It was creamy and the rice was cooked properly. I find a good rissoto is hard to come by, the rice is either undercooked and a bit hard or it's overcooked and a pile of mush. My husband ordered the Sunday sauce everyday pasta dish. The meatballs were really tender. The short rib you didn't even have to chew. The sausage had a good snap. The rigatoni was cooked to the perfect temperature and the marinara paired well with it. Tommy came out with some pasta and a candle. He had us recreate the scene from lady and the tramp. Then printed out a Polaroid of the moment for us as a keepsake! So sweet. For dessert we got the vanilla and espresso gelato which paired so well together. It was creamy and thick, just the way gelato should be.

I love this place so much, it just opened and I've been there three times already, the best Italian food in the area hands-down, my last waitress Taylor made the experience even better, all of their locations are on the smaller side, but the ambience is truly one of a kind, I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone, I've never meant that more in my life. Best Chicken Parm I've had in some time, the cutlet stayed crispy, the pasta was handmade, the limoncello was such a great add on, I can't recommend enough. I can't wait to get my name on the wall lol

Celebrated my Amiga's birthday and her up coming wedding! She loves Italian cuisine! Made reservations at Elizabeth's! Believe the hype!!! Elizabeth's is a stunning visual masterpiece from sculptures, murals and lighting inside and outdoors! Hospitality perfected! By the entire Elizabeth's Team! Loved the cocktails and the presentation! Highest compliments to the Chef and Kitchen Brigade! Every course was amazingly delicious! Medley of flavors and textures! "Era tutto buonissimo!" Highly highly recommended! Make your reservations and savor the dining experience at Elizabeth's!! See you soon!! Thank you for a memorable night out with my Amiga!!

We made reservations for my husband's birthday a few months ahead. Not easy to get! It definitely was a memorable experience! Food is fantastic, drinks were good but felt they were weak. Beautifully decorated and service was quick!

Elizabeth's is definitely a cut above. While I know that Italian restaurants are a dime a dozen in New Jersey, this place is certainly a "go to" place for that special dinner. Our party of 6, seated promptly, was celebrating 3 birthdays (more on that later). the overall decor is very distinctive, much like 618 and Mezcal. Once seated, our server, Carmen D, could not have been nicer - water came quickly followed by drink orders. We ordered a mix from the bar - 2 GL Super Tuscans, 1 Hugo Spritz, 1 Good Behavior, 1 Tanqueray Shot/Mixer and 2 Waste Managements. We began our meal with a shared Chopped Salad that was excellent and more than enough for the table. The menu is varied when you factor in the many different options for sauces, etc.. The Short Rib Pappardelle was excellent, my wife had the Mushroom Risotto and she loved it!. Two of our group chose the Sunday Sauce option while the Pork Chop was terrific as well as the Chicken Parmesan (my choice) with crispy Prosciutto was excellent. Bottom line, we all enjoyed our meals as well as the excellent bread. Dessert was considered but the restaurant brought us 3 frozen desserts (from Jersey Freeze?). Not exactly convenient, it was worth the drive and we will be back.

It's all about the ambiance here, tons of glitz and glimmer along with music that is a bit too loud. The food: pasta bolognese, their seafood salad and clams in broth were all good but only the clams were a standout. The wine list just okay with above average pricing for the reds anyway. With nearly 20 staff running around, a feeling of being too busy. Still had to request a server to pick up used plates and another one for silverware after our food was previously delivered. In fairness they are new and hopefully the kinks will be worked out soon. Overall not a bad experience but not a five star experience at this price point. Being kind with a four star review and may return at some point in the future.

Elizabeth's is the newest entry from the Death of Hospitality group into the "don't bother going into NYC when you can have just as much fun in Central Jersey" category. Like many people online, I was skeptical walking in. Old-school Italian at Manhattan prices? In New Jersey? That's a bold ask in a state where good Italian-American restaurants are practically as ubiquitous as McDonalds. Naturally, a firsthand taste test was required. Before you even walk through the door, the Spritz car parked outside clues you in that this is not your local red-sauce joint. If a Brooklyn interior designer raised on equal parts Banksy and Instagram was asked to collaborate with an Italian Eurovision DJ, Elizabeth's is probably what you'd get: cheeky food puns splashed across the walls in Sunday-gravy red, cocktails designed as much for your camera as your taste buds, and techno remixes of Pavarotti's Nessun Dorma blasting through the dining room. Across all of DOH's properties, one constant is fantastic service, and Elizabeth's is no exception. Our waitress, Corinne, was a former pastry chef at Le Bernardin who also managed a Texas Roadhouse at one point. That combination somehow makes perfect sense. She had the fine-dining chops to explain every dish in detail while still feeling approachable and down-to-earth. You go, Corinne. What impressed me most was that we visited on the restaurant's second night of service and never once felt opening-week growing pains. The place already operated like a well-oiled machine. Now onto the food and drinks, which is why we're all here in the first place. Is Elizabeth's the overpriced disappointment some people online are proclaiming? Absolutely not. That said, the menu has some serious peaks and valleys. The highs are very high. The lows are... well, lower than you'd hope at these prices. For our table of four: Whipped Ricotta - Good flavor, but very one-note. The ricotta was served by itself in a bowl and not as part of a charred toast that you might expect. Instead we ended up using the complimentary bread, to dip which while fine wasn't particularly memorable. Short Rib Arancini- Crispy, meaty, and perfectly fried. The tomato jam brought an unexpected twist. Oddly enough, the overall flavor profile reminded me more of Indian food than Italian, and I mean that as a compliment. Spicy Vodka Pasta - A major letdown. The spice was muted, the sauce lacked richness, and the whole dish felt oddly restrained. Hard pass. Semolina Gnocchi - The comparisons to La Lupa's Roman gnocchi are unavoidable, and unfortunately this version comes up short. It's ok, but lacks the deep savory, umami-packed punch that makes La Lupa's version one of the best bites I've had all year. Cacio e Pepe- Absolute must-order. A full-blown flavor bomb. While cacio e pepe can sometimes feel heavy, this version somehow ate light while delivering wave after wave of cheesy, peppery, umami goodness. Chicken Parmesan - Everybody asks the same question: who's paying $38 for chicken parm in New Jersey? Apparently me. And I am here to report that this dish is worth every penny. This may very well be the best chicken parm I've ever had. The cutlet is beautifully fried while remaining juicy throughout, covered edge-to-edge with perfectly melted cheese and your choice of sauce. Originally, we planned on the spicy vodka sauce, but since we already were ordering that as a standalone dish, Corinne wisely steered us toward the Spicy Calabrian. Thank God she did. Unlike the Spicy Vodka, this sauce came out swinging with a legitimate spicy kick and tasted like it was made with a whole lot of both nonna love and anger. The dish also comes with a side of pasta, making it one of the better values on the menu. Sunday Sauce- My brother-in-law's selection. He seemed underwhelmed at first, but the deeper he got into the bowl, the happier he became. Sausage, meatballs, short rib. Every bite seemed to reveal another layer of meaty goodness. By the end, he was fully converted. The drinks were also a hit. Some arrived in carved Roman busts, others hidden beneath giant Ferrero Rocher shells. At $15-$20 each, they aren't cheap, but the bartenders clearly know what they're doing. Between the quality and the presentation, they felt like a good value and doubled as dessert. Just like Mezcal and 618, the quality-to-price ratio varies dramatically across the menu. Elizabeth's rewards diners willing to do a little treasure hunting to find the winners. Would we come back? Absolutely. Only 24 more visits until I earn my spot on the graffiti-covered VIP wall at the entrance.

My wife reserved a table for two for my birthday, and it was one of the best Italian dining experiences I've had. The arrival where the experience begins was warm and welcoming, service was personal, with genuine caring. We got bread and evoo right away, waiter goes over the menu carefully explaining and also recommending. Appetizers were quick and delicious, we got the grilled octopus and requested a bottle of champagne to go along with our night. Dinner we ordered the filet mignon and pork chop, sincerely some of the best we've had. Overall a great night, we took lots of photos, and I like to mentioned our waiter, who was on top of his game.

What a wonderful date night at Elizabeth's Restaurant in Old Bridge! From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by how beautifully decorated and inviting the restaurant was. Our server, Kris, was absolutely wonderful--so friendly, attentive, and helpful. He made some great suggestions, and we truly appreciated his recommendations. The appetizers were on point! We started with the Caesar salad, which was made the right way and topped with fresh anchovies--so delicious! The meatballs were moist, tender, and full of flavor, and the short rib rice balls with tomato jam were absolutely delicious as well. But the star of the appetizers for me was definitely the octopus! It was cooked perfectly--tender, flavorful, and NOT chewy at all. It was easily my favorite appetizer of the night. The calamari was also delicious and cooked just right. For my entrée, I had the Seafood Fra Diavolo, and WOW! The perfect amount of heat and loaded with lobster, shrimp, and perfectly seared scallops. It normally comes with clams, but since I don't care for them, they were kind enough to make it without them. The seafood was cooked beautifully, and the rice was so creamy it was like velvet on my tongue. Every bite was delicious! And then came dessert... The dark chocolate orange puddino served with a pizzelle was a little taste of heaven! Creamy, decadent, chocolatey, and absolutely delicious. Of course, I couldn't finish the night without a cappuccino. This was such a wonderful dining experience from beginning to end, and we will definitely be back!

outstanding, for sure lives up to the hype! the atmosphere is lovely, the staff very friendly. We shared the holy trinity absolutely devoured it. also the clams, they were in such a delicious sauce! we got chicken parm ( obviously ) as we have heard it to be outstanding, and it sure was!!! I am not a vodka sauce fan ( yes I know boooo ) so I was not happy with the rigatoni, but the table of vodka lovers was! I had burrata added to mine, wonderful decision. we also had the mushroom risotto with scallops on the side- 20/10!! we had a dessert drink; the ferrero rocher, which was delicious! very nicely presented aswel. we shared tiramisu for 2 and the italian job I think it was called, with the gelato and cherries, the only thing I would change is the soaked biscotti because it's soaked in something licorice tasting and that a huge no for me, remove that and 20/10. simple and delicious! over all experience was great wish it was not so far away because we would be regulars :)

We celebrated our anniversary at Elizabeth's and the restaurant exceeded our expectations. Although a busy Friday night, the service, food, atmosphere and attention to detail was exceptional. Appetizers we sampled were the Holy Trinity and the whipped ricotta. Simple dishes, but the flavor and presentation elevated from other similar ones we've tried. Our table's main courses included their highly praised chicken and veal parm. We can only echo all the accolades for those dishes found in the many reviews already posted for this young restaurant. Our server was attentive and when he discovered we were celebrating a special occasion had our drinks personalized and had us laughing re-enacting the Disney "Lady and the Tramp" romantic restaurant scene with a little plate of pasta and candle. Such fun! Elizabeth's manages to not only provide expert service and food but it also makes you feel like family when you dine there. This restaurant should be on your must visit list.

I get it now. I've been eating chicken parm for over 50 years. I've often said it's pretty hard to screw up chicken parm. But it's even harder to serve up a version that is truly memorable in every sense of the word. Then a day comes when you come across a chicken parm that, with just one bite, makes you instantly realize that you're eating something truly special... something so next level that it completely raises the bar in a way that redefines a dish you've been eating all your life. Today was that day. Extra points for the amazing cocktails, Caesar salad, and Bucatini Amatriciana. And the service from Brian was exceptional. Can't wait to come back!

Pork chop super tender and Kris had them slice it so we could share

The food is absolutely delicious one bite better than the next Thoroughly enjoyed it all Kris took superb care of us Gave choices and went the extra mile to ensure we were happy How could you not be? Place is super cute but trendy

However, based off my standout experience at Mezcal on Saturday night (10/3) for a night out drinking cocktails with my girlfriend, I felt inclined to share my experience. First off, you pull into the parking lot and it's in the middle of nowhere in Old Bridge. Once you open the restaurant door and walk in, it feels like entering a high-end hotspot in Manhattan. Completely different world. We sat at the bar, immediately were taken care of by the kind hostess, and began the night. My girlfriend made a comment to me, she said, "all of the bartenders look so calm". This was during the typical dinner rush @ 7-8 pm. Two standout bartenders, the first was a woman who had been there for 3 months (did not catch her name) and then another bartender named Mike. Both were splendid. Mike was deeply knowledgeable, passionate, and personable. He took time to explain all different types of liquors at the establishment, he took the time to cater to our requests and made some of the best cocktails both of us had ever had in our lives. It was incredible to me to watch the attention to detail and calmness during the busiest hours on a jam-packed Saturday night dinner rush. The service is remarkable, the team on Saturday night was remarkable, and that's rare with a dining experience post-Covid. We will definitely be back, this is our permanent date night cocktail spot. You can tell that there was a waiting period before serving it. The sides were good as well I had the French fries and Mac and cheese. It's a shame the steak didn't come out hot but it was still good. As for the drinks the one that was recorded was not good at all I do not generate the name. I actually took Afrin before going out just so my sinuses would be clear and I could fully taste and smell this meal and it still tasted like something you would get from the Backrooms. It isn't necessarily "bad," but it literally just tastes like the bare minimum concept of edible food. Absolutely nothing on the menu including the cocktails is going to knock your socks off. I ordered the steak, and it was incredibly mediocre. It completely missed the mark on tenderness and severely lacked any real seasoning it was literally just steak flavored. Honestly, Texas Roadhouse cooks a way better steak that literally blows this place out of the water. Ultimately, this is a spot that relies on its club atmosphere to sell very expensive, incredibly average food. We spent over $300 on this meal and left so disappointed that I told my wife we are going to do a birthday "do over" so we can celebrate at a place with actually good food. We had the pão with cardamom-chile butter, roasted oysters, garlic shrimp, picanha, the meatball paella, and olive-oil tres leches cake, along with Alvarinho wine and a draft beer. The paella rice itself was excellent, with a very good socarrat and a strong wood-fired character. The pork-and-beef meatballs were good on their own, though for me the combination was a little unusual and I would choose a different paella variation next time. Always changing paella of the day. Seafood would excite me when available. The picanha, oysters, shrimp, bread, and dessert were also all very good. The whole restaurant operated as a team. That added a lot to the experience because the people serving the food really understood how it was prepared. Even small details were thoughtful. Our leftovers were kept at the host stand and we were given a numbered claim disc to retrieve the bag on the way out -- a simple idea that avoids having takeout bags sitting on the table or floor. I had never seen that done before. Overall, Lita delivered very good food with exceptional hospitality. The open kitchen, wood-and-charcoal cooking, and interaction with the chefs made the meal feel personal and memorable. We would definitely return, especially to try another paella variation.

Brunch Review... We…read morewere a small group of 5 last weekend. I made reservations a week ahead at 11:00. Honestly if you come before 12:00 that's probably not necessary. For drinks, she had a Mimosa Flight and I chose the Hazelnut Wake-Me-Up. That had double espresso vodka, espresso, milk, maple syrup & whipped cream. Yum. :) A little strong and good. Our meals were Pork Roll Benny for her and I chose their Short Rib Hash with 2 sunny side eggs. We enjoyed them both. Our server Angela did a great job on a busy Sunday morning. Gotta mention that Half Moon is pretty big inside. Location is on the second floor. Parking is available across the street in a lot and just remember to pre pay. No dessert this time and our cost was $40 each with a tip. As always... Enjoy

I could definitely see spending the day at the beach and walking over here for dinner afterward. They also seem to have events almost every day, plus an outdoor bar across from the beach, which looked like it would be a lot of fun. The food was good overall. We had the lobster ravioli, and while the sauce was just okay, the lobster filling was incredibly fresh and made up for it. I also had the filet. The steak itself wasn't the best I've ever had, but the herb butter on top really brought it together and made it worth ordering. We also shared the boardwalk fries and the Brussels sprouts, and both were excellent. The drinks were well made too. Overall, it wasn't the best meal we've ever had, but it was definitely a good one. Between the location, atmosphere, and solid food and drinks, we'd absolutely come back the next time we're in the area.

Looking for the best wings in the area? Look no further! Tap and Growler is your local corner bar…read morethat makes the best wings with the biggest variety of flavors, hands down. Always cooked crispy to perfection without having to specify, which is how it should be. No stretchy chicken skin or rubbery meat found here! Each time we visit, we get three orders of wings to split and usually another sauce or two on the side to try. We really enjoy the dry rubs and they don't skimp on the seasoning either. There's always plenty floating in the bottom of the basket for extra dipping. I couldn't go through all the wing flavors we've had since that would take quite some time, but you should definitely try the Chupacabra and squeeze the lime. The sweet potato fries with Chipotle aioli are definitely worth getting too. Just a heads up, this place can get REAL busy during peak times (ie: Friday and Saturday night), so plan your visit accordingly. There are usually 1-2 bartenders who are also acting as servers, so it may take a few extra minutes, but it is well worth the wait. Staff has always been friendly and welcoming. TLDR: Great local bar serving up the best wings in town. Give them a few extra minutes to serve you if you show up on a Friday or Saturday

Granted it's a small spot but the vibe is great. The staff is welcoming and exactly what you expect from a neighborhood bar. The wings were amazing. Perfectly fried and sauces are spot on. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. He did pay attention to our needs and offered good suggestions, especially for my very picky daughter. The food was really good. Not mind-blowing, but really solid Italian food. Plus, the prices weren't outrageous. In an area that has a plethora of Italian restaurants mostly a stone throw away, it's good to find an Italian spot that is very good with prices that won't break the wallet. Definitely worth revisiting

I'd been to Feast once for dinner & it was just OK…read more Today we attempted to go in for a family happy hour with my 89-year old grandmother. Upon arrival, we were told the happy hour is apparently only allowed sitting at high barstools. (This was not explained when we called ahead of time asking for HH details). We politely asked if there was any accommodation that could be made for my elderly grandmother to enjoy happy hour elsewhere in the bar area (the rest of the restaurant was absolutely empty). The staff was extremely unaccommodating. We were rudely told to force my grandmother to sit up on the bar stools by the hostess and the blonde middle aged manager. They do not seem to be interested in attracting business from elderly customers as this is clearly not ADA compliant. We will never return.
