Falcone - Italian Near Me - Lincroft, New Jersey

Falcone in Lincroft is basically what happens when someone spends 95% of the budget on interior design and 5% on the actual food. The restaurant itself? Beautiful. Gorgeous lighting, trendy aesthetic, romantic atmosphere. If your goal is taking photos for Instagram or pretending you're dining in Manhattan for the night, this is your place. The food, however, was wildly underwhelming for the prices. I ordered the "short rib" bolognese and spent half the meal trying to locate the short rib. It looked and tasted more like regular chopped meat sauce than slow-braised short rib. I've honestly had pasta dishes from local pizza places with more flavor and authenticity. And the candles... there are approximately 47,000 candles in this restaurant. So many that at one point a waiter leaned dangerously close to one and I genuinely thought his vest was about to catch fire -- meanwhile he had absolutely no idea. That pretty much summed up the overall dining experience: chaotic but aesthetic. Also, why is there forced valet in Lincroft? Even when you self-park, they still ask for your keys like you arrived in a Bentley instead of a Honda Pilot. Another strange touch: it's BYOB, yet they keep your wine bottle off to the side somewhere instead of leaving it at the table. The whole point of BYOB is being able to pour your own wine whenever you want without having to flag someone down every time your glass is empty. It felt unnecessarily pretentious for no reason. The biggest issue was that the restaurant never actually felt authentically Italian beyond the decor. For a place charging premium prices and branding itself as an upscale Italian dining experience, there should be a stronger sense of Italian hospitality, personality, culture, and presentation throughout the service experience. Instead, the whole thing felt more staged than genuine. Communication around the specials was difficult, nothing was written down, and the service lacked the polished confidence you expect at this price point. Ironically, the teenage valet outside gave more authentic Italian restaurant energy than the dining room itself. My suggestion? Lean harder into genuine hospitality and authentic Italian dining culture instead of just the aesthetic. Right now it feels like a beautifully designed movie set where the food and service never quite match the image. Overall: probably a nice place for cocktails, dessert, and ambiance before or after a night in Red Bank. But if you're going specifically for an amazing Italian dinner worthy of the prices, save your money and hit a really good local pizzeria instead. I promise if you change the wait staff to people who have a little more command of the English language... the word on the street would probably improve. read more

We were greeted with numerous hellos and greeted by a gentleman (sorry, didn't get his name) that looked up our reservation and immediately took us to a great table for 2. Our server, Alfredo (*sp) was so attentive. Let's talk food! We shared the Pappardelle ragu pasta as an appetizer, perfectly cooked!! Hubby had the veal chop, he said it was like butter. I had the pork chop, I did a chair dance and a happy hand clap when I took my first bite! I was full but couldn't stop eating! The love in the food is real! It's out of this world! I highly recommend. I don't think I will ever eat fried calamari again. lolThis was so much healthier and flavorful. I would return to Falcone just for this dish. We enjoyed a sensational dinner at Falcone. It was our first, but definitely not last, time in this gorgeous remodeled church building. It was well worth the 2 hour round trip from North Jersey. Our servers Eddie and Rubin were exceptional. Falcone can be easily missed because it is in an old church and doesn't have a big sign. Nonetheless, this small restaurant offers quality food for a decent price due to it's location. It's complementary valet parking in a gravel lot in the back with a couple of parking spots to the side. The entrance to the restaurant is on the side of building and you enter into a uniquely transformed restaurant. It's a small space for a restaurant but it gets the job done. The servers are friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. The calamari are good but the jam on the fried ricotta balls were a hit for me. Although I didn't taste the hot honey in the jam. I had the roasted beet salad as well which was good since all the flavor profiles worked well together. The pappardelle was great as the short rib was seasoned. A lot of times from my experience the meat isn't really seasoned. The pasta, cheese, and short rib ragu all paired well together. This was our first time trying Falcone. We were so excited to try this "hidden gem". When we arrived, we were shocked by how dark it was inside. The ambiance was elegant but much too dark. While the service was impeccable, the food was subpar. The bread tasted like a salt stick. The meatballs were cold, tasteless and crumbly. The eggplant parm app was the best thing we had. So delicious but portion was small. We ordered the octopus app as well. It was thick and overcooked- super chewy. We then shared the spicy rigatoni entree , that came out 5 minutes after we finished our apps. I hate feeling rushed. Unfortunately, the rigatoni was extremely hard. From the moment we were seated, Alfredo elevated the experience with his warm, intuitive service and deep knowledge. His recommendations throughout the night felt tailored to us, as though he instinctively understood our tastes. Every course was timed perfectly, and his presence was gracious, never intrusive--just the right touch at every moment. We started with the sweet and hot calamari, the sautéed artichokes in lemon sauce, and the beef and pork meatballs--each dish bursting with flavor and beautifully prepared. The bread served alongside the meatballs was warm, crusty, and impossible to resist. For my entrée, I had the Parmesan-crusted chicken in a lemon-caper sauce with broccoli rabe--tender, bright, and perfectly seasoned. Our friends enjoyed the scallops over creamy risotto, while the men both ordered the veal chop, which they said was one of the best they've had. Upon entering there is feeling that you have left lincroft and you are now in an old loft like Soho building with beautiful bare brick walls and a soaring ceiling. Giant chandeliers add a soft dim light and very cool upbeat music gives this space a modern yet elegant feel. The staff here are just delightful. The tables are a bit small given the beautiful tableware which gives little room for any extra plates on the table but the glassware is of high quality Ok let's get to the food. The bread on the table was very crusty and fresh accompanied by a seasoned olive oil. The menu is pretty straightforward Italian Our table opted for the napoleon eggplant and the rigatoni with spicy tomato sauce which I must say was quite unique and very delicious. I would return just for this alone it was so delicious. Prepared perfectly al dente, (as so few restaurants knows how to do this ). I think it's a house speciality The Bronzino was Devine! With a crisp outer skin, gently flavored but extremely tender flesh it's one of the best I've had. Falcone exceeded my expectations! The restaurant decor is stunning with exposed brick and dimly lit chandeliers, which made for a perfect environment for our 21st anniversary dinner. The service was amazing. Upon arrival, we waitied in the beautifully decorated lounge area to be seated. We were greeted by a server who.opened up and poured our wine, and then we were seated. The service remained just as professional and attentive throughout the evening, too. On to the food.Everything we ordered was divine. From the octopus appetizer, on to the lemon pasta and the veal chop which we both shared, every bite was filled with complex flavors that only a skilled chef could create. What a fantastic dinner we had last night at Falcone. The food was outstanding! The service (Blake) was so professional, and the ambiance was so romantically beautiful! We had a special appy to start (parm encrusted calamari- the most tender and tastiest we've ever had). I had the chicken Lemone, and my husband had the pappardelle with braised short rib. All dishes were large portions yet perfectly prepared and delivered reasonable fast! Total bill was around $100 (plus tip). Great atmosphere and nice folks but not really great food. Service folks don't know what each other are doing, 40 mins between app and main. I'm sure they will eventually figure this out. When main was served the fish was raw and had to go back for a redo. Again chef will figure it out. I think the kick in the balls was the price and as a previous reviewer stated ...they didn't care enough to take anything off the bloated bill. Aside from that the food was OK but IMO the entire experience was not worth the cost. $50 for an OK chicken parm (w/ $15 add on pasta) because it doesn't come with anything is egregious.
