I was up from Florida to meet with 4 of my cousins, my daughter and her boyfriend. We tried Rockafellers Station for our time together this Saturday night March 2nd and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was great and their was a singer who sang a lot of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. The place was mobbed and very busy. We couldn't hear the singer until the crowd thinned out a little but his Sinatra and Martin were the best we heard. Don't remember the guy's name but if you see they have him again on their website have a great night out with great food and great music. read more

My first visit. I had to find the waitress since the hospitality booth was unstaffed on a Saturday evening. The negative review stops there. The friendly staff, food, the prices for food and for wine were fantastic. The pasta was just perfect. Generous portions of delicious menu items. The entertainment was just right for this restaurant. So amazing. Joe P (something) stold the show. He sounded like Francis Albert. He sang Dino too. All in my area started singing along. I will be back to hear him again soon. read more

I mean, we walked in three minutes after they opened on a Monday in the bar was full already. On a Monday! The service is always very good. Everyone who works there has so much personality and I just love that for a jersey Italian spot. The ambience is perfect for what it's supposed to be. It's kind of like a VFW crossed with an Italian restaurant in Jersey. Nothing is too fancy, but honestly, they don't promise or pretend to be anything other than what they are. They have live music almost every Friday and Saturday and honestly everyone that I've ever heard there is quite good, so good in fact, I would almost go there just for the band. The pricing is some of the best around, in face here is an example. I went with my boyfriend and he and I shared an appetizer, each had a main meal, and three beers between us and the bill was $66. Come on where are you gonna get a price like that down the shore? So not only is the food very affordable, it is so good. Honestly, it's one of the best chicken parm in the area, sometimes, yes I'm admitting this, I crave it. I've eaten there now probably eight or 10 times and I've only not enjoyed my meal once. Their pizza is also pretty darn good and on Mondays they've got a special. During the nicer weather months, you can even sit outside on the patio and dine outside. Parking is limited in there a lot, but don't worry there's plenty of street parking around for now. If you can't tell by now, I really love this place!

It's truly one of the "last of the Mohicans"--a classic, old-school Italian joint that you just don't see much anymore. I'm not knocking the new, modern restaurants and their creative concepts, but if you're looking for a really good, affordable Italian dinner in a great atmosphere, this is your spot. The moment you walk in, it feels timeless, which only adds to the charm. They have great live music most nights, the owners and staff are incredibly friendly, and the wine bottles are very reasonably priced. It's tucked into a unique, up-and-coming neighborhood that's a mix of industrial and residential (with some really nice new condos being built). If you want a great night out with good music, good people, and delicious food without breaking the bank, you need to check this place out.

Manager Sammy introduced me to a fine two-course meal. Vongole Oreganata: These little neck clams were covered with Italian bread crumbs and simmered in white wine and garlic sauce. Although encased in a hard outer shell, these clams have a firm, chewy texture. Feel free to add some lemon to enhance the flavor. Enjoy them by hand or with a seafood fork; the choice is yours. SamVera Pollo: Named after the restaurant, this plate consists of grilled chicken breast with a vegetable medley. There was an overwhelming variety of produce and that is certainly a good thing; a small sized potato is also included. The chicken was pounded thin and sautéed in white wine sauce. It was very easy to cut into, which is why it had a tender and juicy texture. In addition to having a full service bar, there is also a wine cellar. This cellar may be narrow in size, but it is stocked with over 1,000 chilled bottles featuring high quality vino from all over the world. While you are dining, admire the beautiful arrangement of attractive wall art, sculptures and autographed sporting memorabilia. Not only is SamVera an ideal location for date night and family gatherings, it is also a perfect spot to host large get-togethers or special occasions.
