Ok ambience (crowded and noisy). Great service with obviously well trained servers. However, overly salted food - 3 of 4 entrees enedible. Was crowded, we had waited for a long time didn't want to make a scene sensing most of the food back. Thought we would take the food home and slice off the top of overly salted chop, steak etc but still didn't work. Huge waste of money. Had a memorable dinner at Trama's Trattoria last night. The best Italian food in Long Branch for sure! Went on a whim and they kindly seated us with no reservation. We ordered the calamari to start and I'm shocked to say the marinara and side of tomato salad outshined the calamari itself. The tomatoes were perfectly dressed, and the marinara was TASTY - I could drink it on its own (and I did lol)! For our mains, we got the bolognese and carbonara. Both delicious and rich. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente. Service was top notch. We were tended to by multiple servers throughout our dinner, even after we paid the bill. Incredible hospitality! There is no parking lot. Street parking was ample when we went, but it's currently winter. I imagine it would be a nightmare to find parking during peak season. read more

Went to Tramas with 3 girlfriends on a Thursday evening. We were seated promptly, on the patio and our server was great, I think his name is Mike, (I'm pretty sure). Myself and friends have all eaten here several times, love Pats cooking & which is why we come back. However, this night was Not Good! We shared a calamari appetizer. The pieces of calamari had to be cut in order to eat them, they were tough, chewy and we didn't finish it. They also served mini grape tomatoes and maybe arugula with it which was yummy. But generally you don't expect or get that with calamari. Told our waiter, he basically disregarded our comment with calamari and tomatoes left. Two of us had the veal parm, they said it was good but not the "usual" quality. I ordered blackened grouper. It was a small piece, cooked franchese style but "black" to look blackened! The accompanied sauce was very good though so I didn't complain. The last dish was supposed to be fluke franchese, of which she was served grouper. (I know my fish!) it was twice the size piece of fish,(compared to mine) , and was good except it wasn't fluke. We shared a tiramisu, it was ok. Hoping the head chef isn't going anywhere else, not sure I'll be going back soon. Don't like to be negative, the food business is tough to work in. But I thought the owner should know. read more

very disappointed we went there with 11 girls for two birthday celebrations on a recommendation. We had 730 reservations. We did not get seated until about 20 minutes later. We had to wait for a table to open up, which should've been reserved and ready for us to sit instead of being in the way . try getting a drink at the bar after 10 minutes or more. We finally got a drink. Some of the drinks had to be returned because they were not good. The waiter was not super friendly and some of the food wasn't that great . we we're all looking forward to going to a new place but unfortunately, we made the best of the situation because of the company we were with but wouldn't go back.. Delicious meatballs, eggplant, artichoke salad, rigatoni...I can go on and on - Everything tasted so good. After just getting back from Italy, I'm in that spirit of food; good Italian food. NJ has no shortage of good Italian fare, and that includes here at the Jersey shore. I think prices, although on the high side, are commensurate with the quality you get and are therefore worth it. My wife and I split the meatball on marscapone polenta appy. The meatball was soft, perfectly seasoned, and delicious. As an entrée I got the Garganelli Bolognese with mushrooms topped with a dollop of ricotta. Also excellent. Next time I think I'd like to try one of their risotto dishes and maybe make room for dessert. read more

I had a very nice tasting pinot noir. Next warm bread was brought to the table. It seemed a bit overcooked but I think that was the intent. It had a hard crust & tasted great. We all shared a meatball appetizer served with mascarpone polenta, olive oil & pecorino romano. It was literally about the size of my fist. We also shared an order of muscles; both were fabulous. For dinner I ordered the scallops served with butternut squash risotto, toasted pumpkin seeds, crispy brussel sprouts & maple spuma. Wow, just wow! The flavors blended very well &, well yes, it was excellent too. The portions were not large & the food was quite pricey but excellent quality. I'd give Trama 4.5 stars if I could. We could have eaten in a diner and felt less rushed. "Here's your check." Food was way overpriced. A minute amount of sole for $60+, really? The pasta was the only worthwhile dish.
