We had a wonderful meal here. All of the food was excellent. The service was terrific and the live music was very nice.

Amazing experience! My espresso martini was delicious and there were lots of drink options. I called 2 days earlier for a reservation and Justin called me back to confirm but I highly recommend getting an automated option so we can make reservations online. There were 4 of us and everyone loved their dish. Service was good and attentive and appetizers were delicious. We had the pear salad, burrata salad and calamari. Every one of the appetizers were epic but the calamari was superb with perfect crispness. My chicken La nonna was very good and portion was generous. Parking is nearby in a lot but it's small and not likely you'll get a spot. Leave time for driving down the side street to park. Really great restaurant and can't wait to go again.

Friendly and engaging service. Super authentic atmosphere. Food was excellent we got Calamari appetizer, and chicken Parmesan and clams for dinner. Good size portions perfect temperature. Would highly recommended when looking for Italian in long branch.

A solid four star restaurant with food service and ambience. They have daily specials until 6 PM. They have a pear salad that's to die for , well close. Entrees are carefully made with details. Desserts primo There's an upstairs for private parties. Since there is limited parking on Broadway, there's free parking in the rear and weather permitting one can dine outdoors

We had a fabulous time! Exactly the type of restaurant we were looking for, cozy and traditional. Great service! Delicious food! The Filet Scampi was so good!

Chicken Milanese

Happy hour promotion is insane. The Chicken Milanese is outstanding. We have never had a bad dish.

This is a picture of our Cousin's reunion.

We had a cousins reunion party in their private room upstairs and it was fabulous. The food is beyond delicious and the service from the waitress and the bartender was unbelievable. We go there often for dinner and also for their fabulous happy hour. I never realized what a wonderful venue it is for private parties that fit up to 80 people. It is reasonably priced, has delicious food and great service. What more can you ask for?

Our favorite restaurant while in town Always so many good choices to choose from! Stuff artichoke with mascarpone cheese wrapped in prosciutto with a lemon beurre blanc. Ny strip topped with gorgonzola cheese bread crumb. My favorite short rib with mash. Until next time

Old school with a capital O. We came on an August Wednesday when the place was about half full. Started off with a warm hunk from a peasant loaf. No extra charge here. Decent pours of a glass of Super Tuscan and a Riesling. If you are not driving, cocktails would be the way to go. For an app we shared the grilled peaches. Perfectly ripe peaches, prosciutto and a sweet Balsamic glaze. I would have preferred a different cheese, the garlic in the Boursin didn't compliment the other flavors. Grouper was adorned with shrimp and mussels, accompanied with cherry tomatoes, roasted potatoes, and broccoli rabe. A substantial, well prepared plate. Large rigatoni were tender. But the dish was all about seafood, large shrimp, plump scallops, and lump crabmeat of a size and quality I associate with steakhouse crab cocktail. Maybe a bit underseasoned, but still a fine dish. We were too stuffed for dessert. It took a while for our server to appear, but once she did service was excellent. Overall, an enjoyable meal, the trip to 1980 was a lagniappe.

Short version: small restaurant, service was ok, menu was seafood heavy, allergic reaction to unlisted ingredients in the dessert. Would not choose to go back but if a group of friends were going I would agree. I have lived in Long Branch for many years and finally got around to visiting. The ambiance is fine, it's a small restaurant. There are a lot of seafood options in the menu, I'm not a seafood eater, I ended up trying the Sundays Best dish. It consisted of 3 types of meat(meatballs, sausage, pork chop), a marinara sauce, very al dente rigatoni, and one large spoonful of ricotta. I ended up asking for more ricotta. The sausage and ricotta were the best part of the dish. I would not get it again though. I got the mozzarella carozza for an appetizer. It's essentially a deep fried Mozzarella grilled cheese. I think it had too much basil in it, but over all it was tasty. I ordered the ricotta pound cake for dessert. I have a nut allergy, so after reading the list of desserts I chose the pound cake. I also can't have raspberries, nothing was listed on the menu about raspberries. When the cake came out, it had a raspberry sauce on it. I unfortunately had to send it back and ask for a plain on. The waitress brought another pice of cake out, this time plain and less whipped cream(one scoop instead of two). I ate some of the pound cake and it was good. But then it kind of had a weird taste. So I asked the waitress if there was any kind of almond in it( extract, paste, amaretto?) she comes back and says yes. By this time my face is tingly and my throat is swelling. I ended up having to take some medication but I'm clearly alive, since I'm writing this the next day. Fortunately my allergy is not too bad currently. I told her they really should have what's in the food listed, especially for high allergy items. I specifically picked the pound cake because it's not normally made with nuts. The waitress kind of laughed it off, it was a little off putting. Allergies are serious. I don't see why ingredients can't be listed for the desserts, especially when other cakes said, walnut crust, or flourless chocolate cake. Also it was just a small slip of blue printer paper, it wasn't card stock or laminated, so the cost to fix this shouldn't be high.

Good food, good drinks and great service. Leave room for dessert and that's hard because the entrees are so large.

Any vegetarian options here?

They do have salads. But actual vegetarian dishes, I'm not sure. However the chef is flexible. I'm sure if you asked, they'll make you something. Great place to eat. And the customer service is outstanding. Very warm welcoming atmosphere.

After trying several times, I was able to get a lunch reservation off of the Notify list. This was…read moremy first time. I was impressed with the decor of the dining area. It had the feel of a Tuscan restaurant. The host, Oscar, is charming and attentive. After we were seated, our server, Enver, advised us to order all the food at once and he would figure out what to bring out as appetizers, and then after some time to digest, the main courses. This is what we ordered. Appetizers: Deep fried stuffed olives - very tasty Roasted peppers with ricotta - get this - amazing Meatballs with ricotta - delicious Main course: Tagliolini Al Forno - Very good but if we had to pick one thing to exclude out of all the things we ate, this would be it. Spicy Rigatoni - Not on the menu but knew about it through other reviews. It lives up to the hype. In addition to crushed red pepper there are minced hot peppers in the sauce. You can't come here and not get this. We shared everything and I recommend family style so you can taste as many things as possible. Another off menu item that people rave about is the eggplant parm but Enver said they only serve it for dinner. I will be back. PS - After our meal, we started chatting with Oscar and he pointed out that behind Anjelica's is a Squash and Swim Club. It has two indoor squash courts and indoor swimming pool that looks like something from the 19th century. Really cool and worth a look if you are there in the afternoon.
