This is my first time here. Place was great on all levels. I just strolled in for a slice of pizza. Ended up having two and sitting in a boot. The place was clean and had a really great vibe to it especially the girl at the counter that was super friendly, great smile, and recommended the margarita slice which did not disappoint. Delicious!!Seems like a great neighborhood spot with friendly folks, laughing and swapping stories yet not so loud. Great food, great service, clean and friendly. I'll be going back. read more

Came here before heading into the beach . Enjoyed myself a Margherita Pizza which had sesame seed crust and it was good. The cheese was great and the sauce was good not overly sweet or dull. My son enjoyed two slices of a cheese pizza even though one would've been sufficient as it was a nice big size. Service was quick the lady behind the counter was friendly. I love that they have indoor and outdoor seating! read more

This is so bad I would never eat this pizza. It made me throw up the pizza taste like they microwave it and they grabbed the cheese for maybe the dollar store read more

Four of us enjoyed a delicious dinner last night. If you are looking for old school Italian food, this is the place for you. First of all, the food is delicious, and home made. We had veal parmesan and eggplant parmesan. It comes with pasta or a vegetable, and we chose broccoli raab. Antipasto appetizer. Fresh Italian bread, with real butter. The portions were huge, literally the entire oval shaped plate. We are all good eaters and we all had enough food for an entire second meal. The prices were very reasonable. The new owners have improved on the already delicious food that Scala's was already known for. read more

Been going to Scala's for 20 years. We had a good run. I think they have fairly new owners because the food quality has severely declined. We ordered $180 worth of food; dinners, pizza, salad, apps, dessert and it was a total waste of money. Pizza was undercooked and tasteless, salad was drenched and grilled chicken was like shoe leather. Chicken Francese was tasteless and the fried shrimp was cold with soggy fries. Cheesesteak was the only thing that was good and the rest mediocre. After a long deliberation, the owner, Alice, would only credit me the salad IF I produced a credit card statement. Then hours later, she left a few messages in a nicer tone that she will give me 2 free pizzas. Well, she can take her pizzas and shove them up her ***! Goodbye, good luck, Scala's! read more

We got a slice of the chicken bacon ranch pizza... definitely missing ranch and it felt tasteless? I wasn't happy. However, the staff were very sweet and definitely felt busy. The people next to me got a regular cheese slice and that looked so much more promising. I don't think I'd come back read more

Gluten free pizza is good but hit and miss with the amount of cheese and sometimes too crunchy/ overcooked. Daughter loves the chicken soup here. Son liked the meatballs. Husband likes the calamari salad. read more

Two stars because the pizza was good however the service was terrible. Whoever the server is with the gold hoops, leggings, and hair in a bun, you need to lighten up and not obviously hate your job and take it out on your customers! Fix your eye rolling problem and don't upcharge us $2.50 for a side ranch when your coworkers tell it it's only $1.00. read more

Ordered a variety of menu items recently and everything was great. For a pizzeria this place is definitely on the top-end of quality. We live locally and no doubt will patronize again. read more

The chicken caesar wrap was very good, croutons were amazing. The penne vodka pizza was a little underwhelming, i thought there would be more vodka sauce, some slices had almost none. It was still good nonetheless. They were backed up on orders when we went so it took awhile to get our food but the workers were very friendly. I would probably go back again to try a different pizza! read more

Delicious pizza and great staff! We ordered three pizzas (Margherita, Pepperoni, and Garden Veggie) but accidentally got cheese instead of the Garden Veggie. They let us keep the cheese pizza and made us a fresh, free Garden Veggie. Very delicious pizza, not too crusty or doughy, and the toppings were all great - even plain cheese! read more

Excellent Sicilian pizza -- longtime customer and never disappointed. The thin-crust pizzas are exceptional too.

We found this pizzeria in Long Branch looking to try another pizzeria, basically I think Scala has consistently good food, wraps, pizza and their pasta. The workers are very friendly. We seem to like the margarita, and the sicilian. If your in Long Branch stop in and try a wrap or a slice. read more

well thank god I work in a hospital, seeing as I have a severe food allergy to gluten. Ordered the GLUTEN FREE garden veggie pizza, which includes in the description "Broccoli, spinach, tomato, red onion, roasted peppers, black olives and eggplant." It does not specify that the eggplant is BREADED and not gluten free. Attached is a photo of said description, in which other descriptions specifically say what is breaded (ie. The chicken on the chicken parm slice). Upon notifying the establishment of this mishap, we were graced with utter rudeness. Lost business from our entire unit. read more

Well, we used to be customers and good ones at that. And then after 4x trying to ring up the order and me walking out to walk the dog to give the counter person time to collect her thoughts and still having difficulty, the pizza maker decided to jump in and make a nasty comment about the customer who's crime apparently was trying to order 70 bucks worth food. While we are at it the 4 percent credit card fee is ridiculous post -Covid. Bye bye rude merchant. Hello, your competitor. Any competitor. Like @brothers pizza red bank for example. read more

Stopped in to Scala's on our way back home from the beach. Had the plain and the chicken parm pizza slices and drinks. Pizza was fantastic, perfect this Jersey crust and the right amount of sauce. I was nearby and needed a quick bite so stopped here. The reviews were pretty good but the food didn't really match that. The chicken francais was overcooked and rubbery. The ziti was falling apart as well. The francais sauce was rich and nicely done. I also had the personal cheese pizza and it wasn't bad. The pizza had good flavor but it was pretty basic pizzeria pizza. I don't expect 5 star dining here so I can't be too harsh. They have serviceable food at a good price. The portions are big so you won't leave hungry! read more

A solid pie on the Jersey Shore. Outdoor seating and quick turnaround time on the pie. Medium crust and no droop on the slice.

Everything we ordered was delicious. GREAT food and GREAT service. Highly recommended. I'll be back.

Fantastic 5 stars pizza is great food is great help is great and alice and ray grieco stepped it up highly recommended

Unfortunately the pizza has been awful every time we have tried it. Went in to pick up to see if that would help and the staff was rude.

Very disappointed to find 1 slice of ham ,1 slice of Salami & 1 slice of cheese on my $10.50 Italian sub & because the girl at the counter was a little snippy I decided to just leave.. and normally its great here. read more

I highly recommend the pizza here. If you get a chance to go to Scala's Pizzeria you should definitely try the vodka slice, it is amazing. My go to slices are, of course, the vodka slice and the buffalo chicken slice. I always tell myself I am only going to get one slice when I go but I always end up getting more because they all look so delicious! I also tried the pasta fagioli soup, and it is a must try! read more

Great pizza and service. Perfect on a cold day after a walk on the beach. We ordered Margarita and it was great.

We were visiting family at the Jersey shore for thanksgiving and were looking for a good slice. We live in Texas, where good pizza is really hard to find and great pizza is IMPOSSIBLE to find. But we were raised in NJ, which (IMO) has the best pie in the country. We were saying hi to the Atlantic Ocean in Long Branch and found Scala's on Yelp. Their reviews were spot on. Something as simple as a slice of cheese pizza and we were in heaven! Perfect thin crust and mozzarella with just enough sauce. They had several other varieties ready for slices also, and all looked great. Damn do we miss NJ!! read more

Sorry didn't make pictures: I can't stop eating my sandwich and wanted my taste buds to continue enjoying the food! The sandwich was simple: focaccia with arugula salad, sweet roasted peppers, mozzarella, and chicken. But every component was filled with love and passion for the taste! Chef used reduced balsamic vinegar on arugula, roasted peppers still smelled of fire wood, a remanence of original preparation: roasted inside of wood burning stove! Mozzarella was very fresh, tasted closely like burrata. Focaccia with a slice of tomato was slightly toasted and held the whole sandwich together. What can I say?! Bravo chef!!! read more

Poor customer service. Very rude and disrespectful on the phone. Food was left on the porch and no one rang bell or communicated it was there. Very defensive and communicated in the worst unprofessional manner I have ever encountered. I would never order from them again. read more

I was a fairly regular customer and recectly ordered a fabulous specialnty pizza. Pepperoni, fresh ricotta and hot honey. So pleased, I reorderd again. The reorder did not resemble the previous and did not contain the hot honey which makes the dish. Upon calling, the clerk assured me the cook added the topping. I have recently heard he is new. I am done. read more

We placed a delivery order. The waitress did not add one of the items to our order. When we called to see why, she blamed me and said she didn't know I wanted it even though when we determined what it was and I said yes ok good. We had to wait another 45 minutes for it to be delivered and they charged us another $20 (one sandwich and another charge card and delivery fee) Really? That's customer service?
