Dinner with friends last night was a great experience at this resturant. Just off Route 35 hidden in an industrial park it's well worth the effort. Plenty of parking and the food was excellent. The servers were great. Especially explaining the specials (and there were many). Complimentary bruschetta and warm bread was a nice start. Broiled scallops over spinach fettuccini was excellent! Chicken francese Was another well received plate. Looks like the do a good business with takeout and pizza, but our dinner was great. read more

Ordered the chicken Caesar salad and very dissatisfied being I have eaten here many times before....grilled chicken was under seasoned and dried out and salad limp and over dressed ... waitress was not very forthcoming when asked questions and I felt like I was bothering her. I had asked for sparkling water and she gave me their generic seltzer which was salty so I asked for plain water but, of course I will give them Another chance and come back another time but, then they did not take it off the bill or at charge half price!! read more

What a great spot! Went with girlfriends tonight and had a wonderful dinner. Just a few minutes from Industrial Way with a private parking lot. Clean facility with incredibly friendly service. Casual environment with above average cuisine. The 4th member of our party was running late - they were incredibly accommodating, allowing us to order light appetizers and wait for her arrival until we ordered dinner. All requests honored within a minute (ie pepper, wine glasses, etc). My girlfriend and I decided to share the three cheese eggplant and the penne vodka - the kitchen split it up for us so we got plates with the portions already divided (without us requesting). Despite the fact that we closed the place down, they offered us dessert and encouraged us to stay as long as we liked. The penne vodka and eggplant was super tasty. We shared the artichoke hearts and mozzarella in corozza appetizer - both delicious. Their marinara sauce is very good, which is the sign of a great place. Grated cheese on the table the whole time. Portions were generous. Don't leave without having dessert. Homemade Italian cheesecake - incredible. BYOB. Would absolutely recommend and return. Tobe was a wonderful waitress! read more

Ordered dinner for pick-up Saturday night. We ordered 2 entrees: Stuffed flounder and a pasta dish with Shrimp & Clams. The Shrimp & Clams entree wasn't bad. The Stuffed Flounder entree was horrible!!! The menu read: Flounder stuffed with crab and shrimp... The stuffing was horrible because Illiano's uses IMITATION crab which is disgusting. Imitation crab isn't crab, it's made from a fish called surimi. There was no evidence of real shrimp in the stuffing either. What a total waste of $28.00 when you expect a good restaurant meal during this pandemic. This was truly one of the worst meals ever!!! read more

While out at the beach, this was the only spot that would seat 8 of us, yep we roll deep. The servers were extremely nice and kind. The food on the other hand was NOt worth the money i spent. Lets start out by saying that my 10 yr old refused to eat his tenders and fries. My lobster Ravioli tasted horrible, i ate only one piece, noone asked why.. Guess they are use to it. My kids steak, filet Mignon was burt to the point where it went in the trash as well. Total waste of money, sorry Lisa, u were nice but the place stunk. Illianos is not on a major road. It is hidden away in an industrial park near Route 35 and Industrial Way. But it is worth searching out. Probably 95% of the customers are regulars because no one is likely to drive by and decide to stop. The other 5% may be people like you reading this review and willing to try a new Italian restaurant. Try it! On your way, stop and pick up a bottle of wine. Remember: Red wine if you are wearing dark colors, white wine if you are wearing light colors. That way the spills will not be so noticeable. So, when you enter there are short term parking spots by the front door because Illianos does a good takeout business (pizza etc.). But, this is also a place for fine dining with a pleasant ambiance. We dined there last evening arriving around 5 pm when only one other table was taken (many came during the next hour, some with reservations). Our waitress was Victoria, very attentive throughout and a charming upbeat personality. The busboy also was attentive. Dinners begin with tasty bruschetta, then salad and bread. For entrées we had Flounder filet - in a white wine lemon butter sauce topped with sliced almonds and sundried tomatoes ($21.95) and Red Snapper Amalfi - sautéed with black olives, roasted red peppers, capers, garlic, with a touch of marinara sauce ($28.95). Both were delicious. We have dined at Illianos for more than five years (though not frequently because it is not in our neighborhood) and have always been well satisfied. Food is great and prices are reasonable. And don't forget: you will save a lot of money because this is a BYOB (so that $10. bottle of wine does not cost you $30.). read more

No stars.well ok maybe a half a star for service. How this place got 3 and half stars can only be because they were given from family members. From the rubber bands they called fried calamari to ziti's you can eat with a straw. They seem to have an open door policy because they leave the front and side doors opened without any kind of screening so once my wife's linguine and clams dish arrived so did the flies. Besides the clams were over cooked as well. I've had better meals at Olive Garden. Now as for ambiance, there much of that either. If you like cafeteria style atmosphere you'll love this place. read more

We also had the small garlic bread which was too much bread for the 2 of us. We both had salads. My only critique was my salad had about 2 tomatoes on it. Got two dishes here. One was a baked ziti which was okay. The other was a Philly cheesesteak. I'm not a big fan of Philly cheesesteak, but my fiancé is. The cheesesteaks here were served with chopped meat and slices of American. I could've bought that at any Spanish bodega for $4 instead of the $11 that was spent. Look, nothing against senior citizens, but this place is a retirement home. And the food tastes just like it came from there. Bottom line, food was terrible. The reviews on here are highly exaggerated and over rated. As soon as you walk in, there's an overwhelming smell of bleach. Somewhat of a indoor hotel swimming pool. The decor of the restaurant is straight up from the mid 90's. The menu is your typical Jersey "Italian" restaurant. The food is just not good and took forever to come out. The marinara sauce is below average and food tastes as if it was reheated. On the plus side and to be fair, the service was good. But I'd never go back. There are way better and more contemporary Italian style bistro restaurants in red bank and a really good one in Asbury park called Brandos. read more

Go for the lunch service which is fast, reasonable and good selection of italian favorites. My absolute go to dish is the calamari marinara which they can make without the pasta. They have chunks of nicely sauteed garlic which really makes the sauce. Service is fast and attentive during the lunch but I have tried their dinner service which was very slow. They had one server and a bus help but there was no attention to checking back with me and I constantly had to flag the server down for anything I needed. Stick to the lunch service here. read more

We went with another couple a few nights ago. The food was superb. Each of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The cost to food value is very high. Just a note- The Mozzarella en Corroza is served with marinara, not the typical capers or anchovy sauce. The only issue we had was with the waitress service. She was a bit curt at times. And she would reach across people to serve plates, when she had plenty of room to serve from the side of each guest. And instead of having plates removed before placing the next course, if a dish was in the way, she abruptly pushed the old plate aside with the new plate. Other than that- no complaints. But it cost a star. We'll be back and will recommend. read more

I've been here maybe ten times before last night. Over those times I'd have to say maybe two meals were good. All others were mediocre or worse. You may ask why would I return all those times if the food isn't all that hot. I join a group of high school friends that insist on going to Illianos. Rather than not attend, I go despite their track record. Last night I joined my group at Illianos. We ordered calamari and a cold antipasto for the table. The antipasto was good with kalamata olives, mozzarella, provolone, prosciutto, & tomatoes. The group ate most of the calamari but there was a bunch left over. I didn't ask them if they liked it but I thought it was just "ok". I ordered a scallop dish with tomatoes & asparagus over spinach fettuccine. Totally underwhelming. Very bland with no specific flavor jumping out at me although the scallops were juicy. I got to pay $30 for this entreé. This isn't an isolated incident. Other times I had the lobster ravioli that was also bland. Their filet mignon dish is smothered with cheese and the fillets are about a quarter of an inch thick. This was anything but bland but was like a cheese drenched burger. The service was decent although there were only two or three other tables occupied during that Wednesday night. I will be suggesting other places for our next meeting because I feel the cost is way high for the quality of food you get. read more

Fantastic dinner experience! The service was great in spite of looking maybe short on staff. Very attentive and responsive to requests and questions. We're from Ohio so they are new to us and very glad we tripped across them. The lobster ravioli with vodka sauce was a generous portion and my wife's stuffed flounder was as well. Very helpful with an ice bucket for our white wine. Wish we could come here again but being so far away it's not possible. They do cater to small and larger parties, but I would recommend making reservations prior to coming. Our waiter gave us bruschetta and warm bread to start off. Then we ordered a couple different appetizers to share (fyi the portions are huge here). I think our entire table was pretty full after the apps. Then, about 30 min later, we were served our delicious Italian entrees. Everything we ate had great Italian flavors & quality. I don't live too close to this restaurant, but I would definitely make the trip here to enjoy good food. Also, our waiter was super friendly and attentive. She kept checking back on us to make sure we were satisfied with everything. One last thing.. this place IS BYOB. I am so sad and never thought I would ever make a negative review about this restaurant. And this is actually the 1st time I have ever posted a review. Before Saturday, I would have been raving. We have gone here for years and love there food. To make a long story short. My husband found a LIVE Beetle in his salad. We were very upset and a little grossed out. We know that this really could happen at any restaurant so my husband kindly went up to them to let them know and they were playing it off that it was nothing. Then the owner or manager (not sure who) walks over and is laughing saying "so I heard you ate a little extra protein" and went on to say that they buy all their lettuce pre packaged clean so it could still happen. (Then why was the bug still moving - I would think it would be dead). He denied that it was moving which means he didn't even see the bug. I also started thinking that I buy pre packaged clean lettuce and I still clean it. And to go further, why wouldn't he just apologize and say maybe we will begin to pre wash it again next time. I think we are more upset on how he handled the situation than even having the bug in our food. He did give us a free meal but that really didn't change our mind and sadly they lost us as customers. read more
