Patrick's is a great place for food and cocktails. The staff is super friendly and well trained. When you order a dish at this place it's always a generous portion at a reasonable price and always tasty. Their happy hour is really good in terms of food and drink specials. The owners are great people that are actively involved and focused on the customer experience. They have a huge bar in nicely renovated building. Rarely do I give 5stars on a first visit. Normally I'd say 4 then see if it lives up to it the second visit. Friend said 5stars as we walked out. Granted it is a bar tavern leaning on sports bar. I can't judge on its earlier days, but it appears the exterior has been updated. It's a typical bar with large screen monitors showing NFL on a Sunday. Walked in around 645. Most folks were around the bar watching the games , and maybe half of the tables at most were occupied so was seated right away. Based on reviews we came for steak options. We were not disappointed in the least bit. Granted they forgot to bring out the salads, as our food arrived 20-30 minutes after ordering. Started to think this is not good with waiting and not seeing much food being brought out. When our plates came we were impressed with portion sizes and food looked real tasty. Very nice presentation for a tavern. Ribs and wings combo was very good. Wings were perfect for Buffalo style. An option for hotter flavor would be make them shine even more. Rib eye steak was was cooked perfectly but a bit light on flavor. Servers were attentive except for the missing salads. Every year for the holidays we go to see my family in Belmar and last year I i visited Patrick's. Every time i sat down it was a Guinness and a Entrée. My favorite entrée was the Hot open face roast beef and sandwich was a toss up between the French Dip or the roasted pork Sandwich. Bartender and servers were extremely friendly. I meet the Manager Pat and i understood why. Him and his staff make you feel like you were at their homes eating. The last time i was there i bought several gifts cards however one was lost. I did not expect anything but i sent an email to Patrick to see if there was something they can do. He immediately replied and advise he had to do some checking. Once he checked his system and noticed it was not used he re-issued me another without hesitation. Since i live in Florida i asked my brother to pick it up. There was only one other table filled at noontime during the week, yet the waitress seemed harried. As for the food, in our party of five, we each ordered something different. The hamburger came out well-done and dry and the turkey club had a lot of turkey but was dry. The beet salad had a lot of beets which was great. It was a sunny day yet the interior was very dark. We rented an air bnb right across the street and wanted a quick, delicious, take-out dinner on our first night. Ugh. So disappointing. Apps: Margherita pizza? Not even close. It was a sauceless pizza with regular mozz and huge tomato slices on top! Don't be fooled. Entree: full rack of ribs. Huge. Very meaty. Not enough sauce. Came with shoe string fries and sautéd veggies in the same container! Really? And a side salad in another container. Such a poor presentation. Who puts fries in the same container as sautéd veggies? This place has potential. The flavor of the food was actually good! It was edible. I guess the restaurant doesn't really "cater" to take-out orders. Maybe I'd given it more stars if we dined inside. Who knows. First impressions mean a lot, especially when you are on vacation. I wouldn't eat here again, nor would I recommend it to others. read more

We ordered take out, we got the French dip sandwich and two roast turkey platters. The sandwich was dry, no au jus and no horseradish, the beef was overcooked- inedible. The turkey platter was described as turkey with homemade stuffing and gravy... we received shredded turkey that was dry and crunchy on the ends served on four 1/2 pieces of white bread, topped with stuffing? No cranberry and orange gravy... again, inedible. We were too far away to go back for a refund so we just threw out the meal and chalked it up to warning others not to eat from this restaurant. Not sure who is managing but someone should check what is going out the door, it's garbage! read more

Two couples just looking to have a good meal on a Saturday evening while visiting down the shore, we liked the reviews and decided to give it a try. Boy, did we pick the right place! We were greeted by the friendly young hostess who promptly showed us to a table. The place has a sports bar vibe and everyone looked like they were having a good time. Our server was super friendly and after a reasonable wait our food arrived. Three of us had burgers which were huge! Mine was a little past the medium rare I asked for, but not enough to make a fuss. I opted for the side of onion rings. They were delicious as our server promised and she suggested trying them w/Russian dressing dipping sauce. O yeah! My husband had the half rack of ribs w/fries. He ended up taking most of them home as the platter was pretty big. The servers were attentive and the atmosphere was comfortable. I forgot to take pics but we would def go again. Ordering takeout. Easy to pull up and looks nice, may dine in next time. Ordered a steak that was cooked perfectly but cool. Like I waited for the food for just a min, got home in 10 and it was not even warm. Not sure why. The calamari was inedible. It was soo salty, even with removing the breading, that we couldn't eat more than a bite. The turkey was good, but I ordered a platter and instead got a sandwich with side of vegetable. Was hoping to try the homemade stuffing, maybe they didn't have any and just gave bread. Also didn't give me the soup or salad with our entrees. So why 3 stars still. Called, and they put my name in a book to make it right next time. Everyone I spoke to was courteous. Will adjust accordingly based on next visit. read more

Absolutely wonderful! From the service, to the atmosphere, to the food! My family of 13 come here every year from NY to honor the passing of my mother. We used to come here when it was Brennans since it was my moms favorite place, and we are so glad to still come here. Tonight our server Colton went above and beyond to make sure our dinner was perfect. He was attentive, friendly and made us feel right at home. Everyone's food was delicious and cooked perfectly. Our drinks were never empty, the calamari was so crispy and hands down we all agreed the absolute BEST salads we ever had (Cesar & balsamic) The manager also came out to say hello and make sure everything was good. Husband and I are regulars and we adore this place. Food is great and priced well, owner and staff are fantastic. I visit Patrick's very often, I live across the street. Tonight my daughter had a hair in her salad. I mentioned it to the server who laughed. When the bill came I said hey you charged full price even though their was a hair. Patrick the manager came over and not only laughed in our faces but said the salad was free. So it's ok to have a hair in a free salad. I was not asking for anything for free but why do you think an included salad is ok to have a hair in it. Why would the manager laugh at us. Give us a free drink or a credit to come back, anything. You laughed and told me you gave me 2 free carrots for my dip. I didn't ask for free carrots I said I would pay. The manager said well I hand cut them myself while he laughed at us. The bill was $150 and I was not asking for anything for free but at least recognize you gave my daughter a salad with a hair in it. I'm not sure who the real Patrick is but he would be completely saddened by your unprofessional attitude. First time here. Got a buffalo chicken flatbread that could have fed an army! Very good. And also had the filet mignon. Perfectly cooked and just melted in your mouth. The size was one of the largest filets I've had. The atmosphere is generally loud and plating is nothing fancy but well worth the prices they charge. And no surcharge for the credit card! Patrick's has struggled through Covid like the rest of us. Plenty of hard work invested in their reboot changing Brennan's and Patrick's Pub into Patrick's Grille. Still the same great staff, following the strict covid precautions serving the same great food. The menu has changed but I have found my favorites still there. We are normally pretty regular here but last night was not a good night . Salads were warm and tasteless with barely any dressing and needed to be sent back. The fries on all the entrees were burned and barely a serving. The presentation of the food last night was def not on par to what we have had in the past. New chef? Something was off. The filet mignon with cheese that is now $20 for this tiny sandwich on an English muffin looked so unappealing the way it was plated. I am extremely disappointed in Patrick's Grille. This is the second time I have tried to come in for dinner there It was an early Saturday night around 5pm. They say they do not take reservations. We arrived at 5pm, the hostess was on the phone and did not acknowledge us for several minutes. Then a second hostess came by and we asked for a table for two. We noticed that the dining room was quite empty and thinking we would get seated right away. Now remember, the website says they do not take reservations and it is only walk ins. The hostess proceeds to tells us that they are waiting on "several" large parties and that they pushed all the tables together throughout the dining room therefore the wait will now be about 45 min to an hour. When I tell you there was no one in the dining room at this time we were there asking for a table there - there - was - no - one! This is the same experience I had the first time I tried to eat there and I gave it one more chance and to my disappointment it was the same experience. Shame on you Patrick's Grille for having young inexperienced hostesses running your businesses when there are people who want to enjoy your restaurant. I will be sure to never recommend your establishment. read more

I am so disappointed in this place. I have been eating their lump meat crab cakes for a long time and they are usually as advertised - just crab, very little filler. Saturday I ordered the crab cakes and 3 mushy patties arrived packed with shredded cheese and bread crumbs-couldn't even find the crab in the patty. They were so horrible I couldn't eat more then the first. They were completely undercooked. The menu description and price was the same as pure lump crab -although these had no visible crab in them.
