Found this place on yelp and it sounded great. It was up to the challenge . Food was outstanding and delicious . Presentation was top notch. Place was not crowded yet it was very intimate, seats about 20 people tops. All food freshly prepared : had the lobster corn chowder and coconut chicken with marmalade and pork chop and lobster with asparagus pesto. Everything is organic and outstanding!! Can't say enough great things about this place .. everything is cooked to order .. the food is fresh fresh fresh !!! Another great meal !!

If I could give Origins more stars, I would. My husband and I have been coming here for a few years, and the food and service are always fantastic. Absolutely one of our favorite restaurants in Ocean & Monmouth Counties. Went to Origins last night for dinner. My husband got the mussels special & a New York strip which was cooked perfectly (medium rare). I got the watermelon salad special with arugula and feta for an appetizer and the scallops over risotto for my entree - delish!! Can't wait to go back again!!

This one man show is second to none! The chef/owner at origins often acts as host, waiter and chef so not only does he take your order, but he cooks it to perfection. The restaurant is very small, as is the menu. Weekly specials add to variety, my recent favorite is the flat bread special with rare beef (as requested) and melted gorgonzola. The lobster Mac and cheese is the best around and it is FULL of lobster meat. For entrees you can't go wrong with one of the steaks on his menu or if you're looking to go lighter, the tuna over zoodles is also a crowd pleaser. Give this place a chance and you'll definitely be back.

Origins continues to be the hidden gem. The chef/owner is so welcoming and the food always delivers. Just had their valentines dinner special and it delivered. Highly recommend it. Thursdays - Sunday is the current days open.

Fantastic food! My scallops and risotto was delicious! Scallops were perfectly seared and the risotto creamy and delicious. The three guests I was dining with also enjoyed their entrees as well. (Pork chop, salmon and porcini mushroom ravioli). Cannot wait to come back!

Origins is unassuming but once you taste the food you realize you have been missing some of the best food in point. Worth the trip.

So when we needed a dinner location in the Brick, I figured we would try this location. Upon my early arrival, I was seated in the west facing room with ample natural light. There was only one other table of "early birds" nearby and they were loud but entertaining. Our waitress greeted me and brought some water and an ice bucket. I perused the menu while waiting for my friends. To my delight, this place is MUCH larger than Manahawkin. There are at least three rooms. Regardless, by the time we left, it was very busy. reservations are highly recommended. When my friends arrived, our waitress reviewed the menu additions. We decided on the oysters, octopus, arugula salad and the cod special. Everything was excellent. Service and pace were perfect. Plates promptly cleared, bread replentished. We shared a tiramisu and I had a double expresso. We will definitely return. I will take some photos on my next visit.

They're the reason we have visited at least 20 times. Then there is a bartender named Jack. He does his very best to keep my wife and I waiting. He ignores us for no good reason. My wife asked Jack if he could put on the Yankee game. He snapped at her and said can't you see I'm busy. He then refused to put the game on. We got the manager's attention and he put the game on. Two weeks forward we attended an affair on the second floor. Afterwards we went downstairs for a nightcap. Jack as usual ignored us. When I asked him to get us a drink he responded with can I wait on another customer first in a very disrespectful tone while using a hand gesture pointing at the other customer. I have always tipped well and cannot understand his surly attitude directed at my wife and I. I told Jack exactly what I thought of him. He then said now I'm not going to give you a drink. This guy thinks he owns the place. He ran to the manager and told her a customer was being mean to him. Jack should not work in the service industry. He shouldn't pick and choose who he should or should not service.

Although it wasn't very busy, service upstairs was fairly slow, and several nearby tables also seemed to be waiting a while for food or checks. For drinks, we ordered the Boardwalk Lemonade, which was sweet and refreshing, and their version of an Aperol Spritz, which had a beautiful presentation. My dad's Baked Brie Burger was delicious--the fig jam paired perfectly with it, and the waffle fries were fried to perfection. I ordered the Mr. Beautiful Burger, which tasted great at first. Unfortunately, I felt VERY sick almost immediately after eating. I can't say for certain what caused it, but since my dad didn't try my burger and felt fine after his meal, I suspect mine may not have been cooked properly. Despite that, I enjoyed the atmosphere, drinks, and overall experience. I'd definitely give this place another chance, though I'll skip the Mr. Beautiful Burger next time.
