Delicious! One of the best meals I've had around here. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered. Highly recommend. BYOB.

Unfortunately this little restaurant has been off our RADAR screen for the past couple of years. But, returning a month ago we've now been here twice and our original 2022 review still holds up as their food, service and ambiance are all top notch. Only seven tables so the noise level is nonexistent, which is much to our liking. Terrific soft background music adds to the dining pleasure as well as their no rush service delivery. We've had chicken, steak, pork and seafood dishes recently as wells as several of their creative delicious salads. We are already planning our next visit, but they are on winter hours and only open Friday and Saturday with reservations required. Bottom line: Very decent dining experience and value as well. read more

Food is amazing ! Really does the best filet mignon in the area by far and the lobster mac and cheese is a must . BYOB as well!

Excellent!!!! The food and the service is excellent. Small restaurant big time experience. It is like private chef dining. I am telling you to find this place and try it. I can't imagine you could be disappointed. read more

I love this restaurant. The food is fantastic with excellent specials. The owner and his sister run the restaurant and are both personable and attentive. The decor is non-descriptive and the location is unfortunate - - on bridge Avenue in a strip with a tattoo parlor - - but you need to look beyond that. I would love for this restaurant to catch on. It's so deserving. read more

Found this place on yelp and it sounded great. It was up to the challenge . Food was outstanding and delicious . Presentation was top notch. Place was not crowded yet it was very intimate, seats about 20 people tops. All food freshly prepared : had the lobster corn chowder and coconut chicken with marmalade and pork chop and lobster with asparagus pesto. Everything is organic and outstanding!! Can't say enough great things about this place .. everything is cooked to order .. the food is fresh fresh fresh !!! Another great meal !! read more

Origins Bistro - Pork chop - New American Near Me - Point Pleasant, New Jersey

If I could give Origins more stars, I would. My husband and I have been coming here for a few years, and the food and service are always fantastic. Absolutely one of our favorite restaurants in Ocean & Monmouth Counties. Went to Origins last night for dinner. My husband got the mussels special & a New York strip which was cooked perfectly (medium rare). I got the watermelon salad special with arugula and feta for an appetizer and the scallops over risotto for my entree - delish!! Can't wait to go back again!! read more

This one man show is second to none! The chef/owner at origins often acts as host, waiter and chef so not only does he take your order, but he cooks it to perfection. The restaurant is very small, as is the menu. Weekly specials add to variety, my recent favorite is the flat bread special with rare beef (as requested) and melted gorgonzola. The lobster Mac and cheese is the best around and it is FULL of lobster meat. For entrees you can't go wrong with one of the steaks on his menu or if you're looking to go lighter, the tuna over zoodles is also a crowd pleaser. Give this place a chance and you'll definitely be back. read more

The calamari it was decent, but undercooked in some pieces. The pork chop was extremely bland lacking seasoning. The filet mignon was returnable couldn't even eat it. Fillet itself was unseasoned and over cooked. I ordered it to medium. It came medium well like a hockey puck. Did you say put with it was undescribable and bland as well. The blue cheese mashed potatoes tasted like soap. Unedible. I had a higher expectations disappointed. read more

Origins continues to be the hidden gem. The chef/owner is so welcoming and the food always delivers. Just had their valentines dinner special and it delivered. Highly recommend it. Thursdays - Sunday is the current days open. read more

Roberto does a phenomenal job. Fresh healthy organic food. Nice presentation. He's has worked very hard to make this the place it is!

The chef/owner goes above and beyond to attend to all details for an amazing dinner. The gas fireplace was burning, the tea light was illuminated on the table, and the artwork added to the lovely ambience. Delicious rolls were served warm, with whipped butter. Each course was served on plates that had been heated to keep the food and sauces warm. The drunken clams were outstanding. The sauce was incredible!!!! The salad was appreciated with the perfect amount of dressing. The pork chop and the shrimp and lobster ravioli were excellent! Our water glasses were always filled. As I said, attention to detail. read more

fresh seafood, prepared well, cute space. They could use another server, but their current servers were quick and attentive.

Stumbled upon this establishment as I was going through yelp looking for some new options. Decided it was worth a try. The service was top notch as was the taste and preparation of the food. The wait staff and kitchen were very accommodating and let us change anything we wanted. We were not rushed and were very pleased with our evening. We will definitely be back as everything was outstanding. I highly recommend. read more

This is a charming little eatery on Bridge Avenue in Point Pleasant the chef and his wife are a fantastic duo. The quality is consistent and the service is excellent. The only issue from time to time is temperature control inside the restaurant and a faint musty smell when it is hot or humid outside. read more

We have been ordering for takeout and the food holds up beautifully bringing it home to eat. This chef can cook. The meat is always cooked perfectly to order and every dish that comes with a sauce compliments the food beautifully. Server met my husband at the door after seeing him drive up to give him our food. Great place. Can't wait to go and eat inside. read more

We just discovered this spot. Amazing service and high quality food. I have my faves in the Squan/Point Pleasant area, Charlies, Shipwreck Grill etc, but the food here is the star. I had the drunken muscles in a flavorful broth. Ask for more bread. Then the Seared Tuna. Crazy! I am going back for the lamb, and seafood capellini which were ordered by my friends and would not share very much. So glad this is here and is somehow surviving this COVID crap. The owner chef could not be more accommodating. I will support Origins Bistro and make sure he st read more

I don't know how this place does not have more reviews. This restaurant is an absolute GEM and I have never been to another place like it. This is the type of place where you walk in and feel like you're seeing somebody's dream of being a chef become a reality. The menu is small and carefully calculated. You can tell that the chef only includes the dishes that he is confident cooking- and damn, does it show on your plate. To start, the waiter is also the head chef and the kitchen is smaller than most house kitchens. You have to run a fine-tuned machine to be able to attend to tables and cook top quality food without a ton of help. It's a very intimate setting with only a few tables, which is definitely a surprise when, from the outside, it looks like a small coffee shop in a strip mall. All of the food - and I mean all of it - was absolutely delicious. We have extremely high standards and every single dish was knocked out of the park. The shrimp scampi was super light and so flavorful and delicious. My boyfriend got the lamb chop and it was the best he has ever eaten. I'm typically not a fan of French onion soup but it was done so incredibly well that we could not put it down. The burrata board was fresh and included a few different components that worked perfectly with the cheese. The calamari was fried to perfection. And for an added bonus, the restaurant is byob. Do yourself a favor and visit this unique, one of a kind gem. You will not regret it. read more

Small quiet restaurant with excellent food. Recently had the drunken clams and pork chop which were both excellent. Also BYOB which is always a plus. read more

One star because I had no option for 0. Dining nightmare. Was very specific about my food allergies and they completely disregarded them. How difficult is it to leave tomatoes and Parmesan off of a salad when specifically instructed? The balsamic dressing was clearly from a bottle evidenced by the flavor. Gross! The service was functionally inept and unapologetic. We left before getting to the entrees for self preservation. The salad made me sick after not realizing they had not left out the cheese. Sad. read more

This hidden gem is an absolute must try!! Excellent food made from fresh, local ingredients. The menu is small in a good way but filled with incredibly creative dishes. I had the lobster risotto special which was one of the best i have ever had. We will certainly be returning! read more

First time try tonight. Small place about 10 tables. 15 yr old boy greets you at door. Asks you if you have reservations even though no one makes them! Waiter was good, especially since he was serving 8 tables at once! Ordered the beef flatbread, it was excellent! Ordered the swordfish bites, also very good! Ordered the beet salad, not good- beets were very hard. They only put 5 leaves of arugula! Raspberry sauce was good. Not worth the money. Ordered dinner; Lamb was fantastic cooked medium, was excellent! My wife ordered the lobster capellini in cream sauce, pasta was over cooked and lobster pieces were tough to chew. House salad was small and had some type of lemon dressing on it- was not good! read more

Origins is unassuming but once you taste the food you realize you have been missing some of the best food in point. Worth the trip.

When we arrived it was almost empty which made me nervous. No need. Bread was hot and off the charts. Food was delicious and we will be going back very soon. Highly recommend. read more

First off the Food is good. Atmosphere is kind of weird and definitely doesn't match the pricy menu. Service was fine. The menu is nothing crazy and creative to justify the prices if you ask me. We had a single meal, two appetizers and a kids mac and cheese and the bill was almost $80 without tip. read more

This restaurant is always consistently amazing. The chef cooks everything perfect, comes out hot and fresh, while also waiting on his tables (I think he has staff for weekends). I tend to order the NY Strip most times and the steak is always cooked perfectly to my liking and the lobster mac and cheese is to die for. This is a byob with great service and amazing food. Please try this place if you haven't yet. You will be back many times once you visit. read more

The food was delicious. The atmosphere was great. We were there on their second anniversary so they had one of their front end staff singing. It was very nice. The only thing that lacked was the service. It was slow and haphazard. Will definitely go back regardless. read more

Quite small inside. They do not rush you, which is nice. The service was great. Everything came out steaming hot and fresh. All four of us enjoyed our meals. I would definitely come back to this place. It's BYOB as well. The chef even came out to ask if we were enjoying our food. read more

My husband and I found this restaurant on yelp on Saturday night. When you walk in there is about 8 or 9 tables. The ambiance is so cozy and inviting. I would recommend a reservation as there is limited seating. We ordered the lobster corn fritter lollipops and they were absolutely amazing. Crunchy on the outside and soft and flavorful on the inside. For our entrees we both ordered the surf and turf, which is a 8 oz filet mignon and a crab cake with roasted asparagus and creamy mashed potatoes. Everything they serve here is farm to table and made to order. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a date night or a great girls night!! BYOB!! read more

Excellent food and nice ambiance! We ordered the swordfish bites which was delicious! I had the scallops and my husband had the gluten free pasta with shrimp, both were yummy, even the gluten free pasta was really good. The service was excellent too and one of the owners came by to welcome us. It's BYOB which is great for us since we like good wine and can bring our own. We also live about a mile from the restaurant so we will be going back for dinner, maybe as soon as next weekend! read more

We had a wonderful meal while visiting our friends at the Shore. My baby lamb chops were moist perfectly cooked to medium good seasoning. Great appetizers included lobster fritters. Went to Origins for the first time last night. It's exceptional! The tuna is the best I've had - anywhere. Lentil soup was amazing. My husband & I love this place!! Owner Roberto is extremely nice & food always FABULOUS. My favorite is the pork chop. Yes, it's small but never found it noisy- compared to other places.
