    Lavender Lemonade
    Sophia P.

Our service was spotty, as our waitress was new. Or possibly just uneducated on the menu. Either or, she wasn't able to answer a majority of the questions we had. The Lavender Lemonade I ordered was Tito's, lavender infused simple syrup, and a lemon garish- nothing resembling actual lemonade. An overly sweetened vodka cocktail, that was much to strong to drink on its own. On the other hand, my wife enjoyed her Shocktop- how can you go wrong with an on-tap beer. Because we were so hungry, we dug into our appetizers, forgetting to photograph them. Pictured are the BBQ Grill Kissed Wings, while they tasted great upon first bite, we discovered half of our order were raw at their center. Howbeit, my in-laws fancied their crab cake special. Our entrees pictured, arrived with mix reviews. Granted those who ordered the Crispy Flounder Fillet again, favorited their fish dish. My wife noted the seafood in her meal was prepared to perfection, but the undon noodles that accompanied it were much too hard, and had not boiled long enough. My gnocchi were large in shape, and much to heavy, and salty. The live music was this establishment's saving grace. I don't know that I'd return here, but my father in-law declared he couldn't wait to come back.

I am so happy that this bar is open. It is a great place to come hang out and drink. Pool table and beer and multiple kind of liquor. Plenty screens

This place is delicious! It's pretty small, but I enjoyed getting away from the noisy beach and boardwalk for a bit. The appetizer salad I had was so crisp and refreshing- and the dried edamame beans on top were unexpected and really brought other flavors out. My chicken dinner was also marinated perfectly and the vegetables tasted very fresh. The tear drop plates everything is shaped on adds to the classy, beach vibe here. Will surely be back soon!

I didn't eat here but saw the good coming in and out and it looks wonderful. Drinks are good and bartenders are great.

Food was horrible. Drinks sucked. Entertainment was loud but good. Rather eat mediocre boardwalk food.

We went out to eat twice while there, once for dinner and once for lunch. I will review both places using this as my intro to the reviews. For dinner, we ate at Jack Baker's Wharfside, which I also see listed as The Wharfside Seafood & Patio Bar. Frankly surprised it has very average ratings, as I would not say that was our experience on Tuesday night, August 4, 2026. It was reasonably busy and likely explains the somewhat slow service. We were 4 adults and a toddler. We had a few cocktails; all were reasonably good and fairly priced. There were also a few glasses of wine with the meals from a decent, but not extensive list. Everyone had seafood, including the toddler, which included the spicy garlic shrimp appetizer that was a crowd pleaser, and main courses that consisted of snow crab, mussels, shrimp, scallops, and lobster. i was the only one to have the lobster bisque, which I thought exceptional, as it had a creamy consistency and loaded with lobster chunks. There were no complaints though about any of the dishes and we were all happy customers. The prices were reasonable considering the fare and the location, especially as the patio featured a live band, We dined on the patio, but far away from the band, so the music level was pleasant, having seen some reviews suggesting it can be a bit much. It would be hard to complain though about the scenery, as the patio faces a calm channel that leads out to sea. All in all it was very a successful evening. I felt this rated a solid 4, understanding some would rate it a 5, but difficult to understand why anyone would place it lower than a 3.

Someone mentioned this place so we decided to check it out. For those who haven't been here before, you must show id, open up any bags/purses and get a wristband placed on you before entering the space. With it being a beautiful day, it made sense that it was pretty full/packed in there - we were still able to find some good seats at the bar. We both went with frozen drinks to cool us off. They weren't as strong as we were hoping/expecting so we ordered a round of shots also. We were pretty hungry, so happy that it didn't take long for the food to come after ordering. Both felt our seafood was fresh and were surprised at the large size of the shrimp. Food was good standard bar food. The live music group came on before we got our food and I really enjoyed their set. Good go-to spot to check out when at Point Pleasant Beach.

The Dockside Shrimp and Fried Pork Pot Stickers were both delicious, shareable appetizers and arrived quickly. For entrées, the Tuna Poke Bowl, Shrimp Poke Bowl, and Jambalaya were all flavorful and generously portioned. My main complaint was the timing of the food. The poke bowls came out less than five minutes after the appetizers arrived and about 15 minutes before the jambalaya. Our server mentioned they would come out faster, but the pacing made it difficult to enjoy the appetizers before the table was filled with entrées. Thankfully, the poke bowls were cold, so we didn't have to eat them immediately, but it still felt rushed. Next time, we will not be ordering entrees until after we are done with appetizers since it seems the staff doesn't do anything to mitigate timing. We understand the poke bowls coming out before the regular entrees, but it coming that quickly after apps is an issue on the waiter's side in my opinion. Overall, the food, views, outdoor seating, and convenient parking made for a very enjoyable meal. I'd definitely return and would just hope for a little better coordination between the kitchen and sushi station next time.

We went out to eat twice while there, once for dinner and once for lunch. I will review both places using this as my intro to the reviews. For lunch on August 5, 2026 we ate at Charlie's of Bay Head. We were 4 adults and a toddler. I was surprised the ratings I saw were basically average, in the high 3's. That was not our experience. Considering my daughter had tried unsuccessfully to book a dinner reservation, which she said was true for their entire stay at the beach, was why we ended up here for lunch, and should tell you it is more popular than a mediocre location. This is a pricier spot than my other review of last night's dinner at the Wharfside, but the menu and ambiance support it. Like the night before there were cocktails and wines with lunch, though less so than we'd have had if it were dinner. The wine list and cocktail offerings were more than just decent, though not extensive. Being lunch and not dinner, the selections were lighter than a dinner would have been. There were several sandwiches from steak, to chicken, to crab cakes, and lobster rolls. Our toddler ate off the children's menu and enjoyed the mac and cheese. We also had several appetizers, including calamari, the steak egg rolls, which seemed more like a burrito than an egg roll, and king crab, which, while delicious, was not worth the money at $165/pound. It is a lovely location with waterside dining, but service was slow and why we skipped out on dessert. For those challenged by the stairs at the entrance, there is an elevator that can be accessed to bring strollers and those with handicaps up to the restaurant. This was definitely a 4, maybe a 5, but not anything lower. At least that was our experience
