We visited over Labor Day weekend and managed to snag a 9:15 PM reservation, so definitely plan ahead if you want an earlier prime-time slot! The dining room is boisterous and lively, making it a great environment where both families and adult parties seemed to be having a wonderful time. For drinks and appetizers, I started with a lychee martini and ordered the crab cake appetizer as my entree. While the flavor was good, I've honestly had better crab cakes elsewhere. My fiancé ordered the surf and turf, which was perfectly prepared. The real stars of the meal, though, were the sides and dessert. We ordered the roasted brussels sprouts and the baked mac and cheese, and we both absolutely LOVED our sides. To wrap up the night, we dived into the peach cobbler special--it was incredible, and I would easily go back just for that! So this was our first time at Sinner's Steak House due to a gift card not by choice. My other half and I know how to cook so the standards were set high. I started with French onion soup which was sooooo salty. Flavor strong but salty. My Partner got the crab cake. They did enjoy that. So I got the main entree of filet tip carbonara. The meat was cooked well which I was okay with but should have been medium well. The pasta sauce again saltier than would like. I guess this is why there is no salt and peppers shakers on the table lol. My Partner got the skirt steak and fries. Again he enjoyed both but prefers his own marinade. Bottom line this place is more than your average place cost wise. Knowing how to cook and get a piece of filet mignon for $14.00 at ShopRite and a skirt steak for $25 at best and do it yourself doesn't justify the cost. The atmosphere was ok little dark, we did get a nice corner table. Otherwise tight seating. Our server was super polite and gracious for our tip. My husband and I visited Sinner's new location in Kenilworth, NJ. What a beautiful restaurant. The decor is on-point with their theme and quite stylish. The food was delicious; appys delicious (fried calamari, bacon & Firecracker shrimp). Steaks were cooked medium rare which is the way we like to eat steak. Sides were all delicious (mac & cheese, grilled asparagus and mashed potatoes). Cocktails were a highlight; they have a very good wine menu as well! Our server, Gina, was attentive and personable. Ribeye was not as advertised with the bone in or the true weight it was a half inch thick and overcooked as ordered and there was basically no bone, two orders of this steak both weak. We were lucky enough to get last minute reservations for dinner for 4 people on a Thursday night! We had to wait a few minutes for the table so we had some drinks at the bar while we waited. Service was excellent and the bar tenders were very attentive despite a full bar. The bar is large and has plenty of seating for drinking or dining. The lighting is dark but yet inviting. We were seated next to the window with a view of the water which was a plus for sunset. For appetizers we ordered 12 oysters that was absolutely delicious and perfectly shucked! They were fresh, salty, and tasty! For the main course we order two cowboy steaks rare and medium rare. The steaks were served with the bone and cooked to perfection! I am usually not a fan of steak sauces but their house steak sauce was flavorful and the perfect addition. The scallop risotto mushroom meal was probably the best cooked risotto I have had at a steakhouse! The scallops were meaty and delicious. The mahi mahi special was to die for! Like a lot of other reviews, if I could leave 0 stars I would. This is the worst "Upscale " steakhouse I've ever been to. Prices are ridiculous for what they offer. I ordered the skirt steak with chimichurri sauce. The skirt steak was bland and tasteless. The chimichurri sauce was swimming in oil. Not good at all. Everything is ala carte so expect to pay $10 to $12 dollars extra for a side. The supposedly "red snapper " was awful!! It was mushy and had dark flesh. Tasted like it was in the bottom of someone's freezer for a long time. We ordered 6 oysters as one of our appetizers, they brought out 12, and we had to pay for the 12. Not our fault!! My husband ordered baked potato he got mashed potatoes. All in all our experience was the worst!! We will not be back read more

Kimberly our server was great!!!!!!Unfortunately the food was just not good. We all ordered the filet mignon. It had a very odd taste and the cut of meat was off. We sent one steak back because it was way over cooked. They replaced it but that piece was even worse. The creamed spinach and baked potato were undercooked. We decided to go to Sinners Steak House in Point Pleasant Beach last night -- just me and my two adult children. We had been there once before and really enjoyed it, so we were looking forward to another great meal. Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing. First impressions matter. When we walked in, the hostess at the podium completely ignored us because she was on her phone. After several moments, she looked up, almost surprised, and gave a quick "Oh hi." The manager or maitre d' then greeted us and seated us promptly, which was fine -- but the hostess remained on her phone the entire time. We even saw her later walking across the street to the parking area still on her phone, and when we left the restaurant, she was still on her phone with no acknowledgment or goodbye. To be clear, our servers were excellent. Every one of them was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. They went over the specials, gave genuine recommendations, and answered every question without needing to run to the kitchen -- something I really appreciate. We started with fried calamari (with marinara, not the sweet chili the server recommended) and French onion soup. The calamari was excellent -- cooked perfectly, not rubbery, with a light, crispy batter that let the flavor of the calamari come through. The soup had a nice beef flavor, hearty with plenty of onions, and perfectly cooked cheese -- crisp around the edges and melted through the center. However, it was extremely salty, which threw off the balance of flavor. For sides, we had creamed spinach and parmesan truffle fries. Both were very well done -- the spinach was thick and creamy, not watery, and the fries had just the right crispness and a pleasant balance of truffle and parmesan. For entrées: My son's filet was large, cooked perfectly, but again far too salty. My daughter's 20 oz NY strip was cooked beautifully medium rare, but also oversalted to the point she could only eat about a quarter of it and took the rest home. I ordered the 10 oz Wagyu special, cooked medium rare. Unfortunately, the kitchen sliced it before serving, which caused it to lose some of its juices. Worse, it was so salty that I went through four glasses of water trying to wash it down. The salt overwhelmed any buttery flavor the Wagyu should have had. Even hours after dinner, I could still taste the salt. When I mentioned this to the manager and our server, they were polite but simply said they'd let the kitchen know -- and that was the end of it. When you're paying over $250 for dinner for three (without drinks) at a fine steakhouse, you expect the flavor of a great piece of meat to shine -- not be drowned out by salt. As the saying goes, "Salt is the amplifier for flavor -- a quiet but crucial volume knob." Last night, that knob was turned all the way up. The service was truly top-notch, but the hostess's unprofessional behavior and the heavy hand with salt ruined what should have been an excellent meal. For that reason, I'm reluctant to go back anytime soon and risk another expensive, unsatisfying experience. read more
