Met some friends here for dinner, beers, and conversation. Guinness on tap was served as it should be. I ordered a Guinness Burger, a burger with onions marinated in Guinness Beer. Incredible flavor. We go to The Ark regularly and the staff are always so friendly and welcoming. Great drinks and delicious meals, we have never had a bad meal there! Last night I tried the chicken special, Champagne chicken with mashed potatoes. It was delish! They should add this to the regular menu. read more

We have enjoyed the food and the ambiance through the years, and across different ownerships. We had lunch at the bar less than two weeks ago, without incident. Today we were asked to leave because my disabled husband has a service dog that alerts him when he has an episode. This is a legitimate trained service dog. For eight years, she has accompanied him everywhere: doctors, dentist, outpatient surgery, hospital and nursing home visits, banks, restaurants, commercial passenger flights. Her behavior today was exemplary. She has a defined space she remains in, and the only time she makes a noise is if she needs some water or to go outside, or if her person is having an episode. The bartender was polite about stating that the new owner is firm on animals being a health risk. I'm fairly certain the manager on duty actually made the decision. The owner has been in the industry for decades, and should be versed in the Americans with Disabilities Act, which they just violated. It's only federal law, after all. If a guest purports to have a service dog, and the dog behaves inappropriately, the establishment has every right to refuse service. But blanket refusal is a serious violation and can result in fines. Plus, you are doing a disservice to your employees by training them incorrectly. Two more bars out of our rotation, because they own the Windward in Brick as well. read more

I adore the ark. I prefer to come during the off season when the crowd is much smaller, but the ambiance is just the same. Dark, cozy, and warm. Service is always friendly. Today, I had the chance tuna tataki and my mom's favorite, the port wine cheeseburger. No matter what you order, the food never disappoints! read more

The Ark was packed on this Wednesday at 7:15 due to the Singo game scheduled to begin at 8. We commandeered the last high top bar table for our group of four. Our waiter greeted us promptly for our drink order. With his return we ordered our meals: honey-barbecue wings, port wine cheddar burger, and chicken fingers. They came out quickly and were tasty, so we finished before the game began. DJ Dom entertained us with a best-of-the-80s mix. We didn't win, but it was fun to sing-a-long. We will return! read more

POINT PLEASANT BEACH: visiting The Ark Pub and Eatery is one of the best dining experiences we ever had. Fantastic service, food, and we love their space. They have great people and management who really care about the customer experience. The Ark puts an emphasis on local and work with family run NJ businesses to provide the freshest ingredients. They offer a farm to table menu with seafood, burgers, sandwiches, salads, and more! A great cocktail list, full bar, and over 100 beer offerings including from NJ breweries. They also offer lunch specials seven days a week! Leashed and friendly dogs are allowed at the back outdoor patio that has a Key West vibe and fully covered on top by a tent. They are also allowed inside with a beautiful pub/tavern feel with woodwork and dim lighting. Olivia was our awesome server and was attentive, friendly, and gave Brie lots of love. There are TVs to watch the game, events throughout the week, and if you bring your own freshly caught fish, they will cook it for you! read more

I had the blaclened cod I believe and it came with beans and rice. My LO had the Mac and cheese and my other elder one had the chicken tenders with fries. His was great, my LO liked their M&C, and my beaux had the cheese burger at the top of the list. Kind of a dive bar feel and the staff was very friendly. The bathroom was also very clean. My LO asked why there was so many carvings on the walls and furniture and I let her know pirates frequented that place and that's their fault. read more

I went to the Ark twice in December to try their Burger after reading great reviews of it. Well it did not disappoint I'll give it a 10. The only debate for the king of Burgers in my opinion is between the Ark and Broadway, I'll say the Ark's is bigger and more tender but Broadway's has better flavor and their fries and Wings are the best! Either way you can't go wrong!!! read more

The clams casino was so good it saved my marriage. Thanks to Olivia for recommending it and for being top notch with the attention to detail

The five stars are at least for being open. My buddy and I walked and drove around for a couple of hours trying to find a bar opened on a Tuesday night in March. Finally the Ark beckoned through the dark mist. A typical Jersey Shore friendly joint, the Ark wasn't trendy or cool. It was just a damn good drinking hole with friendly regulars eager to strike up a conversation. The Ark was a friend when we needed it most. read more

Hands down the best tuna bites at the jersey shore. It was a little loud as they were doing trivia but everyone was having a ball.

I always wanted to eat here and I can now say it was a worth the trip. We had the fried Calamari, crab cake, fish and chips and the deluxe burger. All were good!! The Fried Calamari was fresh , not chewy, and the Breading stayed on as you bite in. Service was good as well. read more

Do try the Port Wine Cheddar Cheese Burger here. It was featured on a list of top burgers in NJ and wow it was packed with flavor! I would have to agree, this is probably the best burger I've had with its unique port wine cheese, bbq sauce, and amazing caramelized onions. It's the first burger I've ever had that didn't need ketchup added. Our waitress went above and beyond being attentive and thoughtful. She immediately closed the blinds when she saw me put my hand up to block the sun that bounced off of a car in the parking lot, and overheard us talking about sharing two burgers, so she had the chef cut the burger in half for us! Only reason for a 4 star is the dive bar atmosphere and over cooked bacon, but the food and service is outstanding so don't pass it by. read more

This used to be my favorite restaurant. But unfortunately the quality has gone down over the years. It's changed hands at least twice since I started going here in the 90's. The service is fine and the vibe is nice. But the stuff we used to go for and that they are apparently famous for (award winning burgers and seafood) have dramatically declined. Ordered a medium rare specialty burger for $20+. It was the worst burger I've ever tasted. It was a hard, dry, flavorless hard to chew hockey puck. I didn't think it possible to serve a worse burger. Kind of nuts to bill their burgers as "best of" and not have the quality control to avoid serving such a terrible burger. read more

Came into (onto?) the ark to get out of the rain. It's a really interesting looking restaurant, with a lot of carving in the wood furniture and tables. They had a great selection of beers on tap, and the food was good. One of my brothers got the walnut crusted salmon, and we where surprised just how big a serving it was. Our server was friendly and attentive. There where other staff members coming through who helped clear the table as needed. read more

Solid meal. I had the onion soup. Sooooo much cheese. Delicious, but pretty lukewarm. I also had the spinach salad with chicken and goat cheese. The amount of chicken on the salad floored me...enough that I ate the leftovers for lunch. The art pub is a vibe. It's got that lived in look and a trendy beer menu as well as really good food. This is like a comfortable old soul in a neighborhood that should never go away. We had a variety of things there and tried several apps as well as entrées each. we were a party of four. The tuna bites are a must have. They were excellent the tuna Tataki appetizer was also excellent. I had a shrimp scampi over angel hair. It was very good. Several different items were tried by all in a party, and everyone was very satisfied portions are very accommodating, so be careful not to over order the service was friendly and quick. read more

First time here. Cozy inside. Lots of character. Attentive staff and excellent service. Big pour for my glass of wine. I had the manhattan clam chowder. Lots of the good stuff-clams, potatoes and onions in a nice tomato clam broth. I also had the lobster Mac and cheese sliders. Two sliders, side of slaw and fries. Very tasty. My partner had a patty melt. Excellent beef, sautéed onions and perfect rye bread. We'll definitely be back this summer! read more

This place is a landmark in point pleasant beach NJ. Not much to look at outside and inside is rustic with graffiti and carved initials in all booths. The food is absolutely tremendous. Wife had walnut encrusted salmon with Dijon mustard sauce. I had super generous half rack of ribs KC style , garlic mashed potatoes. Three different fish of the day and my understanding is it's caught today by the owner !! Cod tuna and flounder.. Manhattan clam chowder also a huge hit chock full of clams and potatoes . burgers are ginormous and tasty.. Service quick and delightful, with a colorful server who added authenticity to our experience .. highly recommend this restaurant for quality food .. read more

The place was nice, fellow customers fun, and the service was good. The bartenders were attentive and creative.

Places been around for a while and it's consistently pretty good casual food. Their burgers are big in size and very good. Recently stopped in and tried the ribs. They weren't great, weren't bad they were just average. Wings were very good, and the burgers didn't disappoint as usual. Service was excellent. My only complaint is that we ordered the beer broth clams, and they were ridiculously large clams. My 9 yr old ordered them, no one told us how large they are , definitely not medium (top neck) size not even close. They were more like a quahog ,really just too big. We ate them but really didn't enjoy them. read more

Last night went to the Ark for fresh seafood dinner and it was nothing but terrible the streamer clans where so big and tough , to the stuff clams burnt ! BTW the stuff clam are not whole clams but allot of bread crumbs and chop can clams just terrible! Now for our entry the special was sesame crusted tuna which was frozen tuna and cooked well done after asking waitress for rare. The other where scallops over cooked and tasted terrible, the cod fish broiled was not good at all and finally the linguine and red clam sauce was like eating can spaghetti! I have been going to the ark for 20 years but tonight was so bad I will never go back! At $400 for 5 people, I was so embarrassed that i could not let our friends split the billed! read more

Stopped in for the first time today. Started with cod fingers, awesome fresh fish, a great appetizer. We both got the port wine burger. I mean we had to as the menu says it was voted best burger. Ok let me tell you its a great burger. Quality meat on a really fresh roll.the pickle was good and even the cole slaw was fresh. Only thing is the fries are god awful. Not sure how or why they serve them. If you get anything that comes with fries, just beg for anything else like mashed potatoes. Owners might want to stop by Blend on Main over in manasquan and get an order of fries to see what a difference great fries make. Anyway five stars to the Ark, good food, nice friendly servers ,cool bar atmosphere (just get better fries) read more

Blown away. This place just appeared inviting as in you know what you are in for. Super casual with bar bites and pub type food. The entire place has etchings in the wood in the booths, walls, blinds...it's honestly one of the things that brings thats dramatic bar character. Had the port wine cheese burger, OMG amaaaazing and the Merlot soaked mushroom burger. FYI, it is massive so if you get an app, prepare yourself. We got the Bavarian pretzel with home made cheese sauce. Wasn't that gross fluorescent yellow cheese from a can. So so good. Service is what you would expect, but always had our drinks filled and the team vibe with the servers, runners and bus boy was really great. Will absolutely be returning! read more

Our family has been going to the Ark for 10+ years. The only complaint we've ever had has been its online customer service. For example, rather than post their daily specials, customers have to call. Answering employees clearly don't appreciate the interruption when they're busy, which is understandable. While they offer take-out, they don't offer a way to order online or delivery. Perhaps The Ark doesn't need to increase its customer base, but if they do, they should update their website. read more

It's a very dark restaurant. Booths are fine in terms of comfort. Parking is difficult, only a few spaces in front, with the rest of the parking across the street. Food was better than average. We were there on a busy night, service was good even though she had a lot of tables. read more

The #1 best burger at the shore was a full miss for me. There was nothing special about it and the Port Wine Cheese was abnormally pink-- it looked like icing which was really unappetizing. To asked for the burger medium and by normal medium standards it was over cooked. The fries needed a lot of salt to be good. The service was very good and we enjoyed their outdoor seating. Reliably good pub. Food is good if you order fish specials. Low key and always packed. This is a shore staple. No reason not to go.

I have always had great meals at The Ark except for a few days ago. I ordered take out and my corned beef sandwich was a disaster. The rye bread had a terrible taste , the corned beef which was just a few pieces was extremely dry and inedible. My order was to have French fries as well, not included. Because of this terrible experience, they lost a good customer. I have reached out to the Ark and have received no response. read more
