I went to the Ark twice in December to try their Burger after reading great reviews of it. Well it did not disappoint I'll give it a 10. The only debate for the king of Burgers in my opinion is between the Ark and Broadway, I'll say the Ark's is bigger and more tender but Broadway's has better flavor and their fries and Wings are the best! Do try the Port Wine Cheddar Cheese Burger here. It was featured on a list of top burgers in NJ and wow it was packed with flavor! I would have to agree, this is probably the best burger I've had with its unique port wine cheese, bbq sauce, and amazing caramelized onions. It's the first burger I've ever had that didn't need ketchup added. Our waitress went above and beyond being attentive and thoughtful. She immediately closed the blinds when she saw me put my hand up to block the sun that bounced off of a car in the parking lot, and overheard us talking about sharing two burgers, so she had the chef cut the burger in half for us! Only reason for a 4 star is the dive bar atmosphere and over cooked bacon, but the food and service is outstanding so don't pass it by. read more

Came into (onto?) the ark to get out of the rain. It's a really interesting looking restaurant, with a lot of carving in the wood furniture and tables. They had a great selection of beers on tap, and the food was good. One of my brothers got the walnut crusted salmon, and we where surprised just how big a serving it was. Last night went to the Ark for fresh seafood dinner and it was nothing but terrible the streamer clans where so big and tough , to the stuff clams burnt ! BTW the stuff clam are not whole clams but allot of bread crumbs and chop can clams just terrible! Now for our entry the special was sesame crusted tuna which was frozen tuna and cooked well done after asking waitress for rare. The other where scallops over cooked and tasted terrible, the cod fish broiled was not good at all and finally the linguine and red clam sauce was like eating can spaghetti! Places been around for a while and it's consistently pretty good casual food. Their burgers are big in size and very good. Recently stopped in and tried the ribs. They weren't great, weren't bad they were just average. Wings were very good, and the burgers didn't disappoint as usual. Service was excellent. My only complaint is that we ordered the beer broth clams, and they were ridiculously large clams. My 9 yr old ordered them, no one told us how large they are , definitely not medium (top neck) size not even close. They were more like a quahog ,really just too big. Blown away. This place just appeared inviting as in you know what you are in for. Super casual with bar bites and pub type food. The entire place has etchings in the wood in the booths, walls, blinds...it's honestly one of the things that brings thats dramatic bar character. Had the port wine cheese burger, OMG amaaaazing and the Merlot soaked mushroom burger. FYI, it is massive so if you get an app, prepare yourself. We got the Bavarian pretzel with home made cheese sauce. Wasn't that gross fluorescent yellow cheese from a can. So so good. Our family has been going to the Ark for 10+ years. The only complaint we've ever had has been its online customer service. For example, rather than post their daily specials, customers have to call. Answering employees clearly don't appreciate the interruption when they're busy, which is understandable. While they offer take-out, they don't offer a way to order online or delivery. Perhaps The Ark doesn't need to increase its customer base, but if they do, they should update their website. read more
