The place is so small we missed it on our first pass by. The GPS said we had arrived and I didn't see it at first. Definite blue collar vibes here, worlds away from the giant, family friendly Icarus five minutes away. My girlfriend and I stopped in on a late Sunday afternoon on Presidents' Day weekend. There were only two other people there when we came in, though a few others joined us over the next two hours. Impressive 13 beers on tap with quite a bit of variety. A blonde ale, an Irish red, a winter warmer, a sour, a stout, etc. We tried a few between us and I think the real standout was the Tice's Shoal NEIPA. It had a slight smokiness to it that I loved. We live over an hour away, and this isn't a place I would go out of my way to return to, but overall not a bad place to kill some time with some decent beers. read more

Staff was extremely rude the entire time we were there. They kept whispering to each other and giving us dirty looks. If treatment by staff is important to you i sincerely wouldn't recommend this place. There was an off putting smell in there as well. read more

A new brewery in the Boro, a first. Wow, I didn't have to pay to park, which happens to be located across the street from Community Park. This brewery opened in June '17. The staff was very friendly. Having frequented many breweries in the Shore area, I was surprised that I never heard this advertised on social media or for that matter, any means. The decor is very Jersey Shore..... I was given the obligatory tour which for a small area took place in 30 sec. $7 got me a flight of beers, 2 dark, and 2 blonde. For my taste I loved the Amber Apple Pie Ale. The other 3 will remain nameless. The reason for 3stars is that other than the AAAA, the ambiance did not "click" for me. read more

2/24/2018 Tried a flight of irish red, rye wilt, the dark Irish stout, falcon heavy ipa. The red ale was great no hop flavor and very easy to drink. Very similar to Alaskan amber. Irish stout was a good standerd stout taste. Dark good black color. Never tried a rye beer. Very easy to drink but taste is odd. Similar to rice beer. Acidic taste not a huge fan. Falcon ipa very hoppy but not too bitter. Nice yellow color plenty of foam but still hard to drink. The brewery is surprisingly crowded. Mid age crowd. Very friendly bartenders fun at the shore too. It's a family brewery, with The kids running it and the parents running the brewery. Really close home feel. Everyone seems to know each other. Quiet and bright inside really doesn't feel like a bar, more like a meeting place for friends. Even met a guy telling everyone that seattle cexp is the best radio station. Tasty beer and great selection. I understand no flights but wanted to buy a few growlers to bring home and share with friends since this was a new brewery for me. However was told by owner they didn't sell growlers on "band night". Place only had 6 customers, was still afternoon and the band was just bringing in their equipment. Frye Brewing is a welcome addition to Point Pleasant Boro. In a smaller town with not so many good bars, it's nice to have this additional place to hang out and grab a fresh beer. They have a seashore, Jersey theme. Pt. Boro doesn't have the bars that Pt. Beach has, so it's nice to have Frye Brewing right nearby without having to worry about parking and the crowds in Pt. Beach. They are family run, with dad doing the brewing. They are friendly and welcoming. While they are still in the early stages and blossoming, I can't wait to come back in the near future and taste the new beers that they will create. read more

This is a a little brew pub located minutes from me. Unfortunately, they are open only on weekends. If memory serves me right, it's only from Thu to Sunday, and I believe the hours start late afternoon around 5:00 ish, but don't rely on my review for times, check their website or call to be sure. So it's not really convenient if the mood hits you to grab growler to go with dinner. However, the brews are very good. I'd put it below Kane and definitely above Rinn Duin. They are a little on the high side compared to some other breweries pricewise, but the disparity is not excessive & since it's fresh and very local for me, I can deal with the price since it saves me a drive. As I mentioned, the brews are very good. I can't recall the names, but my favorite was a malty red ale, a summer blond lager, and their regular stout. They had a jalapeño or scotch bonnet infused stout as well that I didn't taste, figuring that I'd leave more for the college kids. The IPA was unimpressive. Please note that, while I do enjoy a good IPA, it is one of my least favorite brews. I believe that a lot of micro breweries produce a plethora of IPAs because it hides their deficiencies in the final product. Fortunately, here, among 13 or so offerings there was only one IPA. read more

Not often do I give something five stars, but this one earned it. Quiet, toward the end of he day and searching for some good brews. Hit the bullseye! Erin and Kate were working (yes, sisters). Have us the menu and told us to let them know if they had any questions. Menus have description of beer, plus all other relevant info to pick what your beer flight could contain. Great info and learned about the family (as some of the beers are anchored to family members and occasions). Once we picked our flight, Erin gave us a quick tour of their operation. Enjoyed two flights, sampling a number of really good beers. Order of three flights and a growler fill AFTER tip was $48! Will definitely go back and hope they continue to do well! read more

Great local brewery. We tried Frye late in the Summer of 2018. They had about 10 different beers on tap. They offered a wide variety of styles of beers which was appealing to members of my group that don't care too much for IPAs. We also felt that the brewery seemed very clean compared to others that we had visited. Frye has a live updating board connected to a popular beer review app to provide the brewery with instant feedback on their beers. I definitely am looking forward to trying some seasonal beers from Frye this fall and winter. read more

Excellent microbrewery just minutes from Point Pleasant Boardwalk. Hubby and I each enjoyed a flight of four 4 ounce pours. Every one was very tasty, definitely worth the trip. Such a cute little place. I've seen Frye beer in stores before and finding it was a surprise. I don't drink beer but my husband said the beer was pretty good and it wasn't bitter. He doesn't like bitter beer. We went to the BBQ place on the next block grabbed lunch and ate at Frye's. Then went across the street and saw a band, The Nerds, play in the park. My husband and I are really trying to make it out to every brewery in the state. Frye Brewing is another new and upcoming spot located in Point Pleasant. Located in a strip mall about 5 minutes off the main beach streets, Frye had a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. When we walked in we were greeted by all of the staff behind the bar. Like all NJ breweries we had to take a "tour." Their tour was a collection of pictures you could peruse while you ordered a beer (genius). They had about 8 beers on tap while we were there. My boyfriend and I love to tour all the breweries in state and were excited for another one in Pt. Pleasant right down the street from where we live. Had nice conversation with the owner and but in the midst a male customer was acting iratically but then left soon after. In conversation with male owner I used the f word and he quickly corrected me rudely for using that word. I try to always be polite but you know the old saying the customer is always right. Therefore another bad review for Frye brewing! If you can't handle the heat stay out the kitchen! read more
