Went here on a Friday afternoon with some friends. I had the flight of 4 beers. They all surprised me. They were really good. Myself and my friend had the Bullocks lager and it was great. We also had the lime and salt lager and enjoyed that very much. The place is really cool and I loved that 2 dogs were walking around and just hanging out. The view was terrific. The 2 people that served us were nice and helpful. I will definitely be going back for more beer. read more

My girlfriend and I have been to A LOT of New Jersey breweries (this was #49 for us), and this is easily the most beautiful one we've ever seen. Self described as the Garden State's only farm brewery, it's located on an actual farm amongst the gorgeous rolling hills of Central Jersey. We stopped in on a Friday afternoon in April and stayed for a few hours, each trying a flight and two individual pours. There was a decent variety in beers on offer, and all the beers were good. The one stand out for me was the amber ale, which was one of the best renditions of an amber beer I've ever had. Malty and with just a touch of smokiness. One downside is indoor seating. There is a small porch covered by see-through tarp to block the wind, heated by a wood burning stove. A few picnic tables and a few standing tables. I hadn't brought a coat with me, and if the sun hadn't come out it would have been too cold to stay very long. I'm not sure how this place manages when it gets truly bitter cold in the winter. The outdoor area is easily triple the size of the "indoor" area, and I imagine it would be quite lovely to sit outside on a gorgeous summer evening taking in the scenery. Very friendly staff. Only one bathroom. We live about an hour away but will definitely make the effort to come back in warmer weather sometime soon. read more

Friendly service, lots of seating available, though not many in the shade. We ordered a flight and a 10 oz beer. None of it comes in glasses, which I think cheapens the experience. 5 enthusiastic stars for a wonderful afternoon out in the NJ pastures drinking beer with friends what else do you want! This is a must do, even if you are not a beer lover. One of New Jersey's more unique attractions, if you do like beer and microbreweries, then you should go as soon as you can! So obviously this is an outdoor event so I wouldn't plan to go in the winter necessarily. You come with your group of up to 10 people and are given what they call a crop circle. This is your private space outside to sit enjoy the scenery and drink craft beers. You are on a gorgeous farm in the heart of the farm pastures in New Jersey. A dog does room free and belongs to the property but he's very friendly and will not cause any trouble and may only visit you once maybe twice. They bring the beer to you, you need to have the Arryved app download it on your phone in advance. It really works so great and easy. Recommended to have one app per group. Important you need to bring your own chairs and other furniture. They do not supply tables or anything else for the larger crop circles. So don't bring a picnic table if you are bringing lawn chairs because it will be too big and you will not be able to see over the top and look at your friends on the other side. Bring a snack table or something low to the ground to put your drinks and food on. By the way bring all the food you want to eat, appetizers, main courses whatever you want. The actual beer here is not the very best but it really doesn't matter because the atmosphere is the very best and service too! However they do have a few really nice beers, I enjoyed a spiced pumpkin beer barrel aged. It was a tripel, if they have that make sure you order that one. Actually I would order any of their pumpkin beers. They do run out of beer so if you get there and they have a special pumpkin flavored beer order it in your first round don't hold off. So if you want to choose your crop circle location the way that is done is to get there early. If you were there 15 minutes before your seating time you will probably be one of the first few groups. All the groups seem to roll in at the last second. Keep in mind though that you need your whole group to be present to be in line. So if you have friends that are straggling late behind it was slow everybody down. Lie to your friends about what time they're supposed to be there and make it 30 minutes before the actual time. LOLLL. Because if you get there early there's plenty of scenery and walking around you can do anyway. Super highly recommended for a fabulous afternoon out in the garden state of New Jersey soaking in some of its best farming views with some delicious craft beer served to you! Great, convenient brewery that is family and fall friendly. We brought our own snacks so we were able to enjoy the beer and great live music. Beer was good, I like the octoberfest and pumpkin. We went pumpkins picking next door and was surprised to see a brewery within walking distance, they share the same parking lot. There is food at the farm, you can get breakfast sandwiches and donuts and hot dogs as well as drinks so people were walking back to order food and bringing to the brewery. Wow, this is located on Bullock farm property in Cream Ridge section of Upper Freehold Twp. We are told that this brewery has been here for two years. My brother and I stopped in this afternoon because I had heard about it and we just HAD to try it. We ordered a flight and then some. We came into conversation with three patrons and spent a good hour discussing beer, what else? My bro also spoke with the brewmeister while I noshed on pretzels between sips. Very interesting farm atmosphere. Some patrons sat outside and enjoyed the rhythms of the surrounding farmland. Cool Brewery with a unique venue. It's a small red barn in the middle of vast open farm fields. Walking over it almost feels like you're going to be served farm fresh milk, but alas, you are given a more delicious nectar. Fresh beer made with local ingredients. I came for Fall Fest and ordered the Pumpkin ale made with 150 lbs of pumpkin grown onsite. Supa fresh! Nice notes of cinnamon and brown sugar. They also had a unique heirloom ale made with jersey tomatoes and salt. I will be back to give it a try! read more

Screamin' Hill is one of the most outstanding breweries in the Garden State. I say "Garden State" intentionally because it is part of the Bullock Farm, where one of the co-owners is the 6th generation proprietor. Most of the grains are grown right on the farm, with only some yeasts and flavors, such as cocoa, grown elsewhere. Let me say that you can really taste the freshness. The setting is totally beautiful, with the brewery in the barn, and the grounds in view of the fields. Many people brought pizzas and set up for the whole afternoon. It's located not far from Great Adventure, so you don't have to feel as if you are venturing out that far. The beers are more traditional than at many other craft breweries. It almost felt as if you were in Germany when you are there. The beers tend to be more wheaty. They said that they do make more hoppy IPA's and stouts, but they were just not on tap at the time. It's a relatively small operation still, so they brew in smaller tuns. I like that better because the beer doesn't sit out and get stale. It is as fresh as can be. The name "Screamin' Hill" apparently comes from the chapel that is located within view on the hill. There was an old preacher there years ago who used to give boisterous sermons. I love the history and folklore that is integrated into this operation. read more

I visited Screamin' Hill during the summer when a friend took me there. I liked it here a lot since it brought back memories from when I was younger and spent time on my cousin's farm in Pennsylvania. The difference this time was that this wasn't my cousin's farm and here they make and sell beer. I enjoyed sitting out on the patio looking out at the open land watching the sun set. The only thing I didn't like were the gnats bitting my legs while I tried to enjoy my beer and looking at the scenery. read more

Referred to this place by a friend who lives in the area. At first I wasn't sure if I was where I should be, you literally roll up to this random farm in the middle of nowhere.. but there it is, nestled on the edge of this dark property in a quaint little red barn. The beer was fantastic! I purchased a flight and let the bartender choose. I was blown away by flavor combinations and gentles notes of berries, hops, and different spices. All of the ingredients are grown on the farm where it's brewed. I really loved the raspberry infused porter, it was quite possibly the best porter I've ever had. They DO accept credit cards and DO NOT have food. I would've loved to pair my fantastic beer with some kind of snack, but alas serving food is an expensive endeavor and I understand why they'd probably just prefer to keep serving beer. Their fans don't mind though... the place was PACKED by 5p on one of the two days a week they are open. 4 stars because: it's on a farm with outside seating and well.. bugs and flies. Also, no food. If you love good beer, a friendly atmosphere, and a super unique place to catch a buzz... I HIGHLY recommend Screamin' Hill Brewery! read more

Even a year later AND in winter, Screamin' Hill is a great day spot! Although the heated enclosed area was crowded, my girlfriend and I sat outside PROB LIKE 35 degrees with our American Wheat and Blood Orange pints (both yum). The space is so open that when the sun comes out it warms you up. We brought our own snacks and luckily had an extra scarf in the car to sit outside and enjoy the gorgeous view! SH staff is so friendly and helpful, by 4 o'clock we headed inside the barn to finish up the rest of our beer and warm up. I suggest getting their earlier to get s table inside or in the heated area during the winter. I can't wait to go back when it's warmer! read more

My husband had visited this wonderful brewery located in Cream RIdge before & really enjoyed it. I wanted to see what it was all about, so on a gorgeous, sunny day my husband & I decided to stop by again. Most of the breweries we've been to are located in a warehouse type building or restaurant. I had never been to one like this. Think of a lovely winery setting with outdoor tables & lush fields, sans the grapes. I can see where parking could be tight on a busy weekend but on this Friday afternoon we found a spot without issue. Once inside the 'barn' there are a few more tables, boards with the beer choices listed & staff working very hard to fill glasses for patrons. On this pre holiday day there was quite a long line for growler fills, good to know. The tasting line is a separate line. The brewing equipment is behind the register area. The inside of the barn was very pleasing to look at & clean. I loved the rustic feel & all the wood! This family really knows what they're doing! I decided on a flight, 4 2-oz tastes of different styles of their beer. They had 7 to choose from. I chose a rye IPA, Depserado IPA, Rusty Farmer & Barn Burnin' ale. Although they were all good, my favorite was the rye IPA. Prices were slightly higher than other breweries I've been to but the view was worth it. I understand they plan on growing most of their own ingredients right here on the farm. As we were sipping our beers we saw a truck on the property grinding up their grain. The family's home is located on the premises, a lovely white colonial with a large porch & two gorgeous dogs who wander around the grounds greeting guests. I did inquire ahead of time if dogs were permitted as mine would have LOVED it here but alas, they prefer no other dogs. That being said I couldn't rate them that low because their beers are awesome and the setting is amazing. It's really fun to sit out in the dark and drink a pint. Wow! This has to be a one of a kind brewery; at least in NJ. I could see it in Vermont but this totally rustic setting took me by surprise when driving down Emley's Hill Road. I figured the GPS must have barfed; not so. It's not far at all from Great Adventure so after that zoo you'll step into another world here with a relaxing brew. My brother and I came on a Friday afternoon just as they opened at three. People were arriving and opening their beach chairs to take in the ambiance while sipping a fresh brew. You enter the brewery which is in a barn on the premises. New construction, bright, clean, air conditioned, with taps and brewing equipment in the rear. A couple of tables set up with the obligatory NJ regulations prominent throughout. For those who don't know, in order to serve beer at a brewery the staff must provide tours if requested and the brewing process explained. That's fine for those that don't know how beer is made (actually a fascinating subject for me anyway), but when you've been through the drill 30 times already, enough is enough. Gotta love Jersey regs. The staff are extremely helpful, friendly, and have a sense of humor. Even two beautiful golden labs greet you expecting a pet or two from you in return. Full beer/brewing information is given; just ask. We tried 4 different beers this trip. The Desperado IPA was very aromatic; great. We tried the Habanero ale and the Black Raz too. Really surprised how good the Rusty Farmer was. A golden ale with a roasted malt addition. My bro and I agreed this one was the best today. All the beer is incredibly fresh! I spoke with Ryan behind the counter and he tells me a pumpkin is coming along with a nice sour beer and winter stout. Stay tuned and come out to the country and check these guys out. read more

The farm-style atmosphere is gorgeous, however, the beer isn't great. I love the idea of farm to table (or beer in this case). There are dogs on the property who walk around to get pet and try to beg for your food - they are adorable! Make sure you bring bug spray if mosquitos love you. Again, beautiful place.. We were coming from an hour away to go to SixFlags Fright Fest only to find out they weren't open until 530. But oh look.. a brewery not too far! And a wonderful one at that. It's nestled in a quiet, farmy, area (Yeah I just made farm into an adjective). The guys working there were super down to earth and knew their beers in and out. I love all the character of the place. It's in a barn- carved chairs/tables, and a lot of outside space. It was in the 60s and sunny when we went, so it was the perfect setting for some brews outside. Their pumpkin beer was amazing and probably my favorite. I would drive an hour just to have that beer again. I'm kicking myself for not getting a growler fill. The smoked beer was delicious too. You also should know I'm not a big fan of beer in general so when I say something is delicious it is DAMN DELICIOUS. The rusty farmer and barn burning ale were also very good. I normally enjoy stouts and porters the most. That being say I enjoyed their chocolate porter but not something I would want a full glass of. I am definitely not a fan of IPAs either but my sister enjoyed the IPA. Their flight holders are adorable (in a manly way) and unique. I saw on untapped that they had a coffee version of the pumpkin beer and I am sad I missed that. Definitely a fan of this place and recommend it to anyone in the area. Screamin Hill definitely turned it around. The atmosphere is incredible and makes you feel like you are in the Virginia countryside. The only thing it's missing are the blue ridge mountains in the distance, and to be honest, these guys and gals are so hospitable, they would probably bring them to you if they could. The views at the farm are breathtaking, and rolling hills and back country roads to get there make it worth the trip. The tasting room in the barn is beautifully done with all sorts of amazing wood work. The prices are fair, the beer is awesome, the hours are better, and being only 5 years young, these guys are doing an incredible job transforming this into a place into something amazing and I hope to see them flourish. If you're ever out in Jackson/Cream Ridge area take the trip out there, you won't be disappointed. read more

My friend's husband rented a small shuttle so we could all responsibly drink and visit some of her favorite brew spots. Our timing was off and Screamin' Hill wasn't open yet when we arrived around 12:30 with about 20 people. I'm not sure who was authorized to speak to us, but it did not seem like there was a manager or owner on site. We were asked to leave, and told that we could not be accommodated even when they opened in 25 minutes. An additional 20 people is good business, the way this situation was handled is unfortunate. As someone who plays and coaches team sports sometimes we show up with 20 people (or more) at a time to any establishment. read more

Great little brewery! The staff was good about explaining the history of the venue and the beers themselves. The beers were good, but nothing that blew me away. I wanted to love this place, but service wasn't great. The ambiance is very relaxing and fresh. We stayed in our crop circle which was perfect and cozy enough. The beers were decent. Our group of 6 barely had two beers each because our server never told us about last call. When I tried to look up the hours on their website I was unable to find that they closed at 6pm. They stop serving a half hour before close and our server never mentioned it. I've been in the server industry all my life, and it's just common decency to let your customers know either the time they close, check up on the table, obvious customer service! I know it's a pandemic but I was just disappointed that this place didn't have better service. I had two beers in a two hour span because our server made two trips to us. read more
