Very chill, small brewery in Hightstown, NJ. The dark wood trim inside gives it an old tavern kind of feel. My girlfriend and I visited for the first time on a Saturday around 4 and it was pretty dead inside - just one other table was taken up. It did start to fill up later on. There is an upstairs area that can be used for private parties, and an outdoor area, though we didn't experience this area since it was January and 30° outside. Their menu is impressive - beers are divided into categories of light, Belgian, dark/malty, tart/sour, etc, and each beer has a detailed description next to it. This can be extremely helpful for people who may not know much about beer to find something they like. The beer we had was very good. They also have many of their beers canned and available for purchase to bring home. Overall a nice place, one we would probably visit more often if we didn't live an hour away! read more

Came here recently and had a good time! They didn't offer a conventional flight but I ended up ordering four different 5 oz pours, which was a good approximation :) The beer was not bad at all, but not my absolute favorite. Inside, it felt like a pretty standard bar (with some brewery equipment in the background!) with some strong AC that felt nice on a warm spring day :) Outside, there are a bunch of tables, and it'd definitely be fun to come here with a group of friends and hang out. HIGHTSTOWN: right downtown, Old Hights Brewing Company is another dog friendly brewery in NJ! Aren't we lucky?! Friendly and leashed dogs are allowed in the outdoor beer garden with plenty of seating (some with shade), fire pits, and live entertainment! There are 16 beers on tap and the selection varies. Bring your own food and bring the kids too as they are family friendly! We cannot wait to hang out here not! Driving into this place, you feel like you're transported onto an old timey movie set. A saloon would fit right in here. I'd recommend checking it out for this vibe alone. Especially in the summertime when you can sit outside at one of their several tables. The selection of beers however, left a bit to be desired. While they were by no means bad, they didn't stand out as exceptional either. The beers I tried were decent, none left a lasting impression. Old Hights Brewing Company is a laid back brewery. It has a decent outdoor seating space with a smaller sitting area inside. I also believe there is an upstairs to the place but I do not know what it is used for. They also offer three sizes with the largest being 10 ounces. I tried a milkshake IPA which was okay, a sour which was excellent, and a seltzer that could have been better. I ended up buying a pack of sours to go but I would come here again if I was in the area for a sour. read more

All around solid brewery...Great atmosphere. Friendly, patient and helpful staff. Simple and well-thought-out space design. Clean and well-kept. Nice outdoor area. Adequate parking. Reasonable priced. I liked that there were so many size options...you can get 5oz, 10oz or full (16oz?!) pours which is great in case you want to mix it up a bit. I enjoy stopping at a craft brewery during the daytime. It is usually a nice relaxing experience. On a recent Saturday afternoon, my girlfriend and I stopped by this place for the first time. Looking up their beer menu online in advance, it looked like they had a great selection. We arrived at like 12:30 pm, and it wasn't too crowded yet. We were able to sit at a nice high top table to enjoy our drinks. We created our own beer flights, so we were able to try many of their different brews out. Our first flight consisted of an IPA, sour, wheat ale, and an oktoberfest brew. All of these selections were great. I especially enjoyed their Oktoberfest one, as that was my favorite if the first batch. After a little bit, we ordered a second round of different beers. This time, we went with the black IPA, double IPA, porter, and hazy pale ale. Again, all of these selections tasted great. Not a single bad brew. The dark brews were awesome, especially that porter. It was delicious to drink, that I ordered another separate glass of it. They have some outdoor seating as well, and had a food truck on site with some live music being played on this specific Saturday. Overall, this was a fun spot to hang out and have some beers at. Opened since June 2020 during the pandemic, these guys took a chance and so far it's going well. They seem to be well-organized. I made a reservation a day before and when my brother and I arrived at the indicated time, they sat us promptly. The rules were posted. And every precaution was implemented to a tee. The owner even came out and spoke with us. Some of the brews we had were: 1721-a helles lager Racket Jamz -a soured ale Black is Beautiful-an Imperial Stout. Even though it's summer my favorite was the imperial Stout. They do not serve flights at this time. They also have 4paks. Food can be brought in or ordered from out. Clean restrooms, ample parking. Beers are $7-8. Definitely worth returning to this hidden gem in Hightstown. read more

This is a local brewery in Hightstown. The town itself is a nice, small place with boutique shops and plenty of small businesses around. It has ample parking and when you walk to the back they have outdoor seating and a small indoor place. Staff were friendly and willing to answer any questions you had. They have a decent selection of beers with a nice variety but IPAs are my favorite. They had a triple IPA which was very good. For the first time, I had a black IPA but I wasn't the biggest fan of it. We tried all their porters and stouts and the one we all liked was the coconut porter. I didn't get a taste of coconut but it still tasted good They don't necessarily do flights but you can just order several 5 ounce options to make yourself your own flight. Overall, a decent place with decent beer. If you're in the area it's worth checking out. read more

Awesome brewery with good brews and great customer service! About a 40 minute drive from the Cherry Hill area and definitely worth the trip to check em out! We met one of the owners, and I forget his name but he's the finance guy while the other 2 are music teachers I believe! Gave us some suggestions based on our taste and we even learned that the brew names are related to the town in someway! Lots of parking and lots of outdoor seating. Brews: - My favorite brew was Deckers Best which is their Milkshake IPA... I'm typically not an IPA gal but this one was creamy and didn't have the typical bite. I ended up having 2! - Harvest Fizzle which is one of their sour ales. Tasting and refreshing! - Pick up Lines is their milk stout... basically like an adult chocolate milk :-) They have a deli with lots of food choices right now door! Great food and they bring it out to you at the brewery. So convenient! Will definitely be coming back! Seems like business is going well and hope they continue to succeed through this pandemic!! Old Hights is the 106th brewery that I have visited in NJ alone. A buddy of mine suggested that we go because they're newly opened, and we did. They have a very nice country, barnhouse feel. It turns out one of the owners is an architect, and it shows. Currently there is still just outside seating because of the pandemic, but they are doing a very organized job with it, namely in how they require reservations and have seating times. Both of us enjoyed the Helles Lager the best. It was delicious for summer. Some of the other beers taste "new," but I am not critical of the beer in a new brewery. They have cans available already, too, which newer breweries usually don't have yet. Generally they are ahead of their game. But what sets Old Hights apart is that we felt our business was appreciated. I am always impressed when an owner comes by and asked me how I enjoyed the experience, and that's what we got. The crowd there has a very Princeton/ Mercer county feel to it, which means it's sophisticated and educated. read more

A really good addition to the area! - Opened during covid-19, so outside only - Working as reservation-only, which totally makes sense - Clean and comfortable outdoor area - Order + pay "at the window" works perfectly - Oh, and the beers tasted really good! So far been there twice, both times on a Friday. Few minutes walk from the game shop nearby, and I also noticed it's a bit hidden, behind some "man cave" or whatever. ANYWAY... First Friday of the month has acoustic karaoke which is very interesting but worth it, place is usually pretty packed and with all the wood fixtures, it was very loud but works for the environment. Food is only provided by outside sources but they sometimes host food trucks within stumbling distance. Have an outdoor fire pit but didn't get details about it. Anyway, they have a non-beer option for the gluten-free drinkers but only one flavor is a little... narrow. Hopefully they'll plan to expand it soon because "mango" isn't exactly a flavor most people would gravitate to. Drinkable for the time being but I would love to see other options. read more

This is a hidden treasure in Hightstown. A fair variety of local beer (as you find in other brewpubs) , indoor and shady or sunny outdoor tables. Self service beer and you may be able to get food next door. We had a pleasant evening but we missed the live entertainment (Sunday evening). It's a nice local place and somewhat away from Main Street ( though traffic does go by- you are away from the street). You can purchase growlers to take home, too. When I first moved to the area, a friend told me that a brewery was in the works near by. I was anxiously awaiting it's opening, and then COVID hit. Miraculously enough, Old Hights still managed to open! Right now they do curbside pick up and a biergarten on select days by reservation only. I was super pumped to finally be able to make one of their curbside pick up days, especially for their release of Black is Beautiful. I haven't tried that brew yet, but I did open a P.O.P. Fizzle last night. So far the one beer has blown me away and far exceeded my expectations! For a new brewery, that beer was on point and one of the best sours I've ever had. This hidden Hightstown gem opened up their doors amidst challenging COVID times and it has been a tremendous breath of fresh air after quarantining all summer. Tucked away just off of Main Street, it's only a matter of time before this place becomes THE local hot spot for beer drinkers near and far. For now, they are open for curbside pick up and the outdoor beer garden is available by reservation only during certain days. If you follow them on Instagram, they'll periodically announce that they're accepting walk-ins. We are beer lovers and have driven hours to visit taprooms all over the State of NJ to find great quality beers but we're so happy to have a local brewery that offers such an incredible selection. There is a deli within a few feet that you can order from for pickup or delivery that makes it super convenient to gather with friends and have an early or late dinner depending on what time your reservation is set for. You can also order from other local places or bring your own snacks. We've only visited a few times but so far we have been so happy with the service, friendly staff, cleanliness, safety procedures in place (masks while moving around and ordering beers at the window, servers wear gloves and masks, frequent cleaning, signage, etc.) and most importantly the beer! I just happened to do a search on breweries and was surprised to find this one within miles of our house, so we decided to check it out. It was awesome! Every beer we tried was delicious, especially the sours. The atmosphere was great , too....unfortunately it was a little too windy and cold today, but worth the visit. We will def be back! The staff, including one of the owners, were extremely friendly and welcoming. If you haven't been here-check it out! You'll love it!!! Dave gave us a brief tour of the brewing operation upon arrival , and we spoke with he and Alex about their startup and their experience establishing a new business during COVID .
