Located amongst the vast suburban sprawl of Toms River, on the side of Route 37, lies Toms River Brewing, opened in 2019 in the old Rinn Duin Brewery. The beer here is ok. We visited on a Friday afternoon in August. 14 beers on tap plus a mango seltzer and a shandy. Several different kinds of lagers, IPA's and pale ales. My girlfriend and I each had a flight and a full pour, but nothing I had seemed super interesting to me. I think the mark of a quality brewery is whether or not I want to bring any cans home with me when I leave. This was not the case for Toms River as there was nothing I felt I needed to add to my beer fridge at home. Everything else is 5 stars. Amazingly cozy outdoor beer garden, spacious indoor taproom, clean bathrooms, friendly staff, and a fun watch party for the Women's Rugby World Cup England vs. USA game when we were there. Fun spot for locals to hang out with lots of fun events, but far from the best beer in NJ. read more

We were PLEASANTLY surprised with Toms River Brewing! What a GREAT place! Great staff (Hopper, Matt, Angelo, Jessica and Michelle were all wonderful!) Great atmosphere and most of all GREAT BEER (even the difficult to please guests who love beer were very happy with the Cashmere, the Ugly and the Borrowed Time Nitro Stout beers)! We recently had a birthday party here at Toms River Brewing. Live music with Steve Dee (highly recommend going to see him). They could not have been more accommodating. They really did everything to make us feel welcome! Everyone had a great time! I would recommend having a small party here anytime! Looking forward to going back to Toms River Brewing! read more

I sat there for 10 minutes put 20 dollars on the bar and she never came over to ask me if I wanted a drink but she was ok with texting on her phone more important then serving a paying customer unbelievable horrible service. I enjoyed my time at Toms River Brewing. I was excited to see that they had a beer called Sweet Chai of Mine. I love chai tea lattes and have tried Chai Cider before, but never Chai flavored beer, so I knew I had to try this concotion. It was actually quite good! I don't think it is one that I'd order frequently becuase I think it's unique flavor really requires one to be in the mood for it, but huge fan of the uniqueness. We also liked that we were able to bring a pizza in from a place a few blocks away so that we could much down on lunch while we enjoyed a few beers and hung out. My only qualm is that the inside is pretty small and there wasn't a super comfortable place for our group of 6 and two babies to sit and chat. With that said, it does look like they have a bigger outdoor area with picnic style tables that would prob be a better option in the fall or spring when the weather is better. read more

This is a perfect place to stop in for a drink or two with friends. I really don't know much about beer, but it seemed like they have a nice selection of beers to choose from. Beer isn't my drink of choice usually but i ended up getting the "Shine On, You Prickly Diamond" and it was delicious. I love a beer with a citrus or fruity taste so it was right up my alley. The Celtic Sunrise was also great, a perfect summer beer. The inside is slightly small but the outside is spacious and has several picnic tables and games to play. Everyone behind the bar was also super friendly and helped me pick my beer. We are pizza there was a food stand outside, not sure if that's a regular thing- but if it is it was wonderful. Good brewery with a nice vibe. Taproom is small, but didn't feel crowded. The servers were friendly and knew their stuff. They have outdoor seating but we were there in November so with the weather, we were inside. They do not serve food, although they sell snacks. We noticed several people bringing their own in, which seems like their thing. Beers were good. Liked it. Would come again if in the area. read more

The whole idea of going to a brewery is enjoying friend's company and savor their brews. We did that and then some: our group won 1st prize on trivia nite. Wow! There were 16 brews on tap. Gloria, our bartendress, was very prompt and patient. The place was formerly called Ruin Duin. I got to sample some excellent brews. read more

Beers were okay, nothing special. Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. Hate that the staff doesn't wear masks. Service wasn't friendly but I wouldn't call it unfriendly either. More like apathetic. read more

Visiting New Jersey from Washington, DC, we met up with a colleague at Tom's River Brewing Company and day outside at one of the picnic tables during the pandemic. They had some live music with standing barrel areas as well, solid IPAs and stouts and some good ales, Pilsner, and lagers. I drink mostly hoppy beers, so that was my focus, and the three IPAs and coconut pale were excellent. Everyone is friendly at TBC, and despite the oppressive sun, the weather was pleasant, the vibe and hippie dancing entertaining, and dog policy accommodating for our two mischievous miniature dachshunds. I like what they've done to Rinn Duin. It seems TRB made the tasting room larger and they definitely made a whole lot more beer. They've saved some of the better brews when it was RD and have added a bunch of originals; a few of which are IPAs. In fact the night we were there they had 16 taps pouring. I thought they were a bit slow behind the bar but friendliness by the staff made up for it. This is a placE I'll return to. read more

This place is great! The beer selection is better than under previous ownership. There were about 10-12 beers to choose from. My husband and I both enjoyed our selections. Masks are required to order beer. They have a nice outdoor area with 6-7? picnic tables and area for a band. We shared a table with another couple (while at different ends) and enjoyed chatting with them. We're looking forward to returning! read more

Toms River Brewing used to be called Rinn Duin Brewing, where I have been a regular customer for years. They now have new ownership. I've really been happy with the changes. For one, they now have a larger variety of beers. While they still have some Irish ones, such as the flagship St. John's, they now have IPA's, too. They have live music very frequently now. It's usually local ensembles, which I've enjoyed very much. They also have longer hours. Gone are the Saturday nights when they used to close early at 8. Larger crowds have been coming in, too. The regular crowd here has been excited with the reforms here at Toms River Brewing. The name is better, too. No one could pronounce "Rinn Duin," but "Toms River Brewing" is easily recognizable. read more

Tucked off on the side of an industrial complex area, but enough signage to get to the bar and enjoy some tasty brews. The girl behind the bar didn't know too much about the beers, but she was awesome to let you sample any one that she couldn't explain (and even the ones she could). I went with their coffee beer, and I can't remember the name of it, but it was delicious. The coffee flavor was prominent, but also mixed well with the hops of the beer itself. It was like someone spilled a black iced coffee in my beer, but in a good way. Hubs went with their red, and he really enjoyed the flavor profile that had, saying that it was very smooth and drinkable. The girl at the bar also offered free snack/chip bags, which was a nice compliment. The brewery itself is spacious, and there's also tables inside the actual brewery, which I thought was neat as you can kind of be a part of the brew process itself. read more

Beautiful beer garden for social-distance drinking of fresh Jersey beer including a fine Pilsner! Many IPAs and stouts on the menu also. If you don't want to stay, take their beer home, 4 packs of 16oz cans about $15, 32oz crowlers about $12, 64oz growlers about $18. Unfortunately the Kölsch had kicked so didn't get to try that, hopefully next time, and maybe a tour then too. The garden has tables with umbrellas to shield your beer from the sun (and maybe a little rain). The tap room was officially closed so I didn't find out what happens when you need to get rid of a little used beer :/ read more

TRB is a hidden gem of Toms River. Really nice tasting room and staff. The beer itself is good, but certainly nothing out of the ordinary. Would like a little larger variety of beers to choose from. read more

You should probably specify that dogs are only allowed outside. Came here on a rainy day - the bartender rudely kicked us out while we went to sit down with our well behaved, leashed dog and our 4 month old. She then told us we could sit outside .. while it's raining. Thanks. Don't say you're "dog friendly" if you aren't. read more

This is our favorite brewery hands down. I used to stay away from breweries as I'm not big on IPAs but TRB changed that for me. The new owners took everything that was good about Rinn Duin (the old brewery that it replaced) and fixed everything that was ever wrong with it. Newly renovated tap room, 16 beers on tap - a little bit of everything (NOT JUST IPAS!), free snacks, food trucks and events. The brewers are so unique with the flavors they create so we always look forward to trying the new beers. They are very knowledgeable and are always willing to talk about the beers they're working on. Yum. read more

The new owners that took over the old Rinn Duin brewery have done a great job at remodeling the place, especially the expanded tasting room. The production area has also added a 5 barrel fermentation system for smaller batches. They still have the 25 barrel system. Sadly, there are so many new microbreweries in NJ their novelty has worn off. Their prices have also gone through the roof. Some 12 ounce drafts can run you $7. Definitely too rich for my tastes. With happy hour places at more comfortable establishments with entertainment running in the range of $4-5 it's tough to frequent a microbrewery. Nice place to visit, but not much of a reason to go back. read more
