We had an absolutely terrible server. We saw her once when she took the order, and then once after the Bus boys brought the food. Appetizers came out at the same time as the entrée. She said that's the way it occurs there, even if she puts in separate tickets. She did not apologize and said that that's the way it works. I was unable to get a refill of my soda the entire time and I would've liked to have a cocktail! I saw other people's servers many more times than mine. It hurt my stomach so bad and gave me severe anxiety while I was in the car. All I can say is DO NOT get the quesadilla, unless you want to ruin a good bathing suit. You can't beat the views at 9th Ave Pier! This waterfront spot is the perfect place to grab drinks on a sunny day. My husband and I decided to stop by for lunch yesterday and were happy to get seated right away. There's a ton of seating at high top tables, regular tables, and a large bar. We opted for a high top so that we could sit by the water and enjoy the views. They had live music, which added to the ambiance. Our waitress, Fiona, was really friendly and the service was surprisingly fast given how busy it was. Unfortunately, it makes sense why the food comes out so quickly...because it's average at best. I ordered the flounder sandwich which was really bland. Instead of one piece of breaded fish there were numerous pieces, all of which were over-breaded and tough. Even with the side of Tartar sauce, the sandwich was so dry. I ended up asking for another side, but it didn't help much. Beautiful setting, truly a perfect place to enjoy the sunset while you have dinner. Food is served in a casual setting on plastic plates. Nothing outstanding but the food was good. Highly recommend the fish and chips. The fish sandwich comes with fresh chips, also really good. The issue we had was that the food took a long time to come out, probably an hour. I do understand that many places are short staffed. When we inquired the waitress apologized, and later the manager also came by to apologize. The food looks good, but it is not sadly. I threw away my entire meal after two bites and I hate throwing away food. The calamari was $15 and the flounder sandwich was $17. Both were extremely mediocre and gave me a stomach ache. They had absolutely no flavor and were drenched in oil. Not only that the service there wasn't too great. The server that we had was nice but we only saw her twice from how busy and crowded the place was. When we arrived at the table there was no silverware or napkins we had to ask for everything multiple times. For being a waterfront restaurant I expected so much better. My review is based on the bar and drinks, I didn't eat heI'm so glad this bar/ restaurant was able to operate during and after covid. The views of the water are very cool. It's nice to have a meal and relax by the water watching fishing and tour boats sail by. There is a good amount of outdoor seating on the pier. You can have a relaxing lunch or dinner while you sit and watch the sun setting. There are two large rectangular bars with plenty of seating. Parking can be tricky. There is free parking but you'll have to drive all the way around to the back of the building. Most people think you park in the front directly across from this place.If you do park in the front there's a charge and it's metered and you must download an app in order to pay online. There are no signs that say free parking so most people don't know to drive around to the side. We had two really nice bartenders, who kept my group continually quenched with their unique drinks. I did not try the food yet so I can't comment on that. When I was at Pier 9 there was a constant breeze. There also was a band playing while having drinks or eating which is a definite plus. Had a pretty good lunch here on a cool Saturday in June. All the staff were pretty nice and the service was quick drinks are reasonably priced for a premium location they have a decent beer menu. I got a margarita which I didn't have high hopes for but it was very OK it definitely didn't disappoint but I wasn't going to order another one. We got chips and guacamole as an appetizer but there was not enough chips and there was no charge on the menu for more chips which was bizarre. I have the black bean burger which came with housemaid chips which was spicy but generally pretty good with some catch-up. Parking can be a total nightmare at this location due to the multiple restaurants fishing boats and river beach here. Just be patient drive slow and look for spots under the Route 35 bridge or in the dirt parking lot a few hundred yards away from the pier. read more

Unique spot right on the water with tons of outdoor seating and a large bar area. The thing that got me when I walked by was the smell. It smelled like sewage so not sure if it was low tide or something but wasn't pleasant. Doubt it was the places fault but since they are next to the marina it happens. They had a band playing all the classic songs which gave it a nice vibe. The food was ok. The coconut shrimp wasn't bad and the southern chicken sandwich was probably the best thing we had. It was served with chips which were a nice snack. The spicy crab dip was horrible so don't order that. I would come back for a drink but not to eat. Hopefully that smell is gone by then! read more

9th Ave Pier is picturesque - it is Instagram-worthy. We love going for drinks there because it is right on the water and you feel a great breeze on a hot summer day. I have never tried their food but would not be opposed too. I love their "Tiki Teas," but be careful - they are dangerous and go down way too easily. The staff is always so helpful and accommodating there. We went this past Saturday in 90-degree weather as a party of 8 - immediately and with a smile they put together a table for us and always had the drinks (and water) constantly coming! read more

Amazing views, especially to watch the sunset after a long beach day. Great bites and drinks, but on the higher priced end. Gets pretty crowded, hopefully you've picked up some scavenger tips from the seagulls throughout the day to snag a table. Live acoustic music, classic rock, older crowd (up my personal alley though!) BELMAR: 9th Ave Pier is now dog friendly at their tables closest to the Shark River, which honestly, is the best view in the place! When they tagged us in a post about being dog friendly, we couldn't contain our excitement and our face hurts from smiling! Such a peaceful outdoor setting to eat and have a drink, listen to live bands, hang with pups, and relaaaax! There are high-top tables (a few with umbrellas), waitress service, doggie pools, and doggie treats too! After passing 9th ave Pier for so long I finally decided to give it a try. We were seated overlooking the water with boats passing by under an umbrella which was much needed on this hot day. The restaurant was mostly empty and staff was hanging out around the bar. They wiped down the table in front of us but left it completely sticky which uncomfortable especially during Covid when things should be kept especially clear. I was surprised by how good buffalo chicken wrap was with awesome kettle chips. My husband got a fried fish sandwich which he also enjoyed. The setting is perfect for drinks and a sunset cruise since it's in the middle of the marina. But, beware that all drinks were served in plastics cups. Just so happens that I went here 2 days in a row! Went the Thursday and Friday before Memorial Day. On Thursday, able to get a table, weather was iffy but turned out to have a magnificent sunset. Had a couple glasses of white wine and a pier burger. Burger was actually very good! White wine choice was limited to Pinot Grigio but what should I have expected! On Friday, parking at 5:30 is a challenge. I think that parking keeps this review at a 4, definitely not enough. Had some drinks at the bar, then moved to a table. Food was good. Kayla at the bar was great! Drinks were super! This is not a 5 star restaurant if you are looking for table service and a vast menu but it is a great location, solid food, decent drinks, and awesome view. One of my favorite spots to be in the summertime. Really glad there's a laidback atmosphere locally to enjoy drinks and snacks after a day at the beach. It's a very casual environment so you can totally come in a coverup over your bathing suit like you just left the beach. They have live bands and musicians perform to add a fun ambiance. Food is basic but hits the spot and drinks are good. Different daiquiris to try as well as classic cocktail staples like pina coladas that are always refreshing. The menu is a little bit on the pricier side for such basic food though. Seats fill up quickly and you can choose where you'd like to sit. On a weekend or during happy hour, you may end up waiting longer for a seat. Worth the wait though. It's especially nice to come right before or as the sun is setting. There is a beautiful view of Shark River and the marina. Let the countdown to Memorial Day weekend begin! read more

This was my first visit here it's right on the water in Belmar. It's an outdoor place with a lot seating although they have umbrellas but there isn't a lot of shade unless you are seated around the bar. Now you can order food at food truck and there is bar service for the tables. I would say they are average as far as prices portions are decent depending on what you order. They do have about 3 items for kids to order if you bring them out. Bar service was fairly quick and we didn't wait too long to get our dinner. The nachos are pretty big so keep that in mind if you order. I had the poke tacos which were a tad messy but good. My nephew enjoyed the chicken BLT he ate. The fish and chips was ok needed a little more seasoning . The buffalo wings were good and good size portion as well. We order 1 1/2 dozen oysters which were ok but wish they were served with alittle vinegar with red onion and extra horseradish also I kept getting shells in my mouth when eating them . The kids chicken fingers were decent and the kids pizza wasn't anything special but worked for a hungry kiddo. All in all it was a good experience. read more

There are also a ton of flat screen tvs that have games on. The drinks here are on the weaker side, but the food is very fresh and there are a lot of options. The weird thing though is that you order your food from the kitchen, but then sit and order your drinks from a waitress. The two orders can not be made simultaneously.
