This is a local hot spot for sure. Make a reservation for a weekend dinner. The beautiful bar lighting and vast bar seating was impressive. The hostess brought us through a large dining room to a more quiet table in a back area. I drank hot tea and my friend multiple margs which he commented were fantastic. The beef Negamaki was tough and inedible. We informed the server and the item remained on the bill. The sushi and dumplings were excellent and well presented. The price point was typical for a Japanese dinner. We would return when visiting the shore.

Came here for my friends Bach dinner before going out for drinks and the food was INCREDIBLE! Everything was sooo fresh, had the perfect sweetness to the sushi rice, and the overall vibes were there It wasn't super super fancy, but more of a casual place to hang with friends. Quite loud inside, but that was of no issue to me! Our waiter was also knowledgeable about what certain foods had gluten, etc and presented us options and replacements for our friend who has food restrictions!

Great drinks and delicious food. Great spot and walking distance to the train station.

Very fun restaurant perfect for date night or a night out with friends. It was very busy on a Saturday night highly recommend to call if you are trying to get a reservation and online it says they don't have anything available. The food was delicious.

This was a great sushi spot to pop into while visiting Asbury Park. I would've liked some lunch specials, but we were happy with the portion sizes and flavors. We tried the Ju-San roll, Asian pistachio salad, edamame, miso soup, and a crab roll that my little one loved. We also had a lychee lemonade as a mocktail option. The service was solid and prompt. There was plenty of space inside for everyone also.

What a neat place! Incredible ambiance with a lighting installation over the bar, mural, balloon wall for pics, and great bartender service. Only has drinks here, which were great, and the food looked amazing!

Taka is a go-to. It's my comfort spot. I don't know if they still have the tuna inari as I believe it was a special but I hope they continue to offer it or even make it a permanent item. It was so unique to see something like this in the area and it was perfect! What was even better was the meatloaf! I am definitely getting this again. Usually I get the braised short ribs but the meatloaf just became my favorite. Of course the ambiance is a 10/10 whether you sit at the bar or at a table.

Such fast service! The server was patient with us as well haha. He gave good drink recommendations. We just came to grab a drink and share some rolls and it was so yummy and came out crazy fast! I would definitely one back here when i'm in town.

Quite possibly the most delicious Japanese I have had here. The chicken curry was incredible. My husband had a tuna sushi roll. He said it was also delicious. My daughter had the udon she was very pleased with her meal as well. We did takeout as it was a busy night and it was still perfectly hot when we received it. I would go back there in a heartbeat. My husband said it had a beautiful atmosphere on the interior when he picked up the order.

We come every year around the same time for our annual friends trip to Asbury. Its tradition. The short rib is the benchmark for all the shortribs we have elsewhere throughout the year. Sushi is always good and fresh, just wish they had a softshell crab roll. Staff is always good. Ambiance is good in the dining room, but eating in the bar room or outside is meh.

Edamame Hummus - phenomenal. The pita were brilliant. This was a special.

I've been to Taka multiple times and always enjoy it. I recently went and had two outstanding new items. First an edamame hummus with pita. This was amazing! The pita was better than 99% of middle eastern restaurants I've been too and the hummus was really tasty and enhanced with chilli oil. This was a special and brilliant. Then, a beer. It was a special japanese lager that was super unique and actually featured on the specials menu and it was great! This place keeps knocking it out of the park.

We came here on a Sunday evening and were seated outside as the weather was beautiful. A lot of spacious indoor seating as well. Restaurant was very clean and staff very attentive. My vegetable tempura came out very hot and fresh. A nice variety of vegetables as well. My daughter ordered sushi and said it was very fresh and full of flavor.

Being located right along the river in downtown Asbury provides a scenic backdrop should you be so lucky be seated at a window. My birthday was very fortunate having landed on restaurant week in Asbury, of which Moonstruck also participate. As part of restaurant week, we received three-courses for the same cost as entree ordinarily would on its own. I began with a cream of sweet potato soup that was thick, creamy, and delicious. This was followed by an everything crusted Salmon that I very much enjoyed. I find that while a lot of restaurants offer salmon, few prepare it as well as the offering Moonstruck has here, being perfectly cooked and well seasoned with everything seasoning. It was topped off with a pumpkin cheesecake that was just sweet enough to satisfy. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Moonstruck and will certainly be making a return visit when back in the area!

Everything was great, and our server was fantastic (I believe his name was Michael). We will definitely be back the next time we are in town.

You're only review, you've only been once and decide to go onto a public forum and give 1 star. Anyway off my soapbox. Pascal and Sabine not only has some of the best cocktails and bartenders in Asbury but possibly NJ. I have been countless times with my wife, my kids, large groups you name it. My favorite way to experience Pascal is to sit at the bar get a couple cocktails (The Jackal is a staple), the Madame Smith Burger (my wife gets the Mr Smith) the fries are amazing, and maybe the escargot and just enjoy. It's up there with some of the most perfect nights out in Asbury you can have. Hope this 5 star review balance out a ridiculous 1 star review. - YH

Lovely hostess, great round bar seating with huge windows for people watching, and a genuinely charming and attentive bartender (Mike). We started with oysters from Newfoundland and cheese off the happy hour menu -- both great. My mom loved her lavender French 75 (a drink special), and my white wine was perfect (the name escapes me at the moment). The garlic soup deserves awards. I first had it two summers ago and still think about it -- I made my mom try it and she immediately understood my rave reviews. For entrées, her burger was cooked perfectly medium-rare, and my fish & chips absolutely hit the spot. Both came with generous portions of house-made fries and an unexpectedly addictive house honey-mustard. We had enough fries for leftovers, and I even asked for extra mustard to take home. Food, service, atmosphere, lighting, noise level -- all dialed in. A 10/10 experience!

Didnt partake in $25 valet parking but was sorely tempted. The indoors are beautiful, white walls and pretty decorations, large bar. Service: Terrific. 5 stars. Julia was awesome, helpful and honest. I did tell her I cant eat spicy stuff although I enjoy lightly spicy stuff. Drinks: I tried the Lebanese red wine. Very nice medium body. My husband tried the old fashioned which he said were good. Starters: we had the salatim which is 6 different dips and two piping hot large pita breads. I liked 4 out of 6 dips while hubby liked 5 out of 6. We both loved the hummus, salad, lima bean, and eggplant ones. This kind of eating is always fun. The discovery! STAR: The star is the halloumi. Fried cheese with lightly sweet crispy crust honeyed and topped with a light refreshing salad and pomenegrate seeds. Our server charmingly apologized she forgot to warn me about the codfish chili being potentially hot but I ended up trying and enjoying it, although I felt the fish was slightly overcooked. Not rubbery but a little too crusty and not flaky enough. I did not complain though because her dessert recommendation for malabi, a custard with oat crisps, was lovely. Nice to share with hubby and cap off the night. Temperature control: we sat somewhat near the front so were hit with cold air anytime someone entered. My husband is recovering from back surgery so walking was difficult for him. I appreciate he planned such a nice outing for us despite his walking challenges. I know they have great pizza, but I wanted to find brunch in the area. We sat at the bar because there were plenty of seats. It looked like there were two bartenders working. The restaurant was only half full, but we thought we'd have good service at the bar. Our server seemed new; she didn't write down our order. She repeated it back incorrectly, still didn't write it down, and then entered it into the POS system. She kept asking if it was correct as she shouted it back to us. We thought this was weird because she could've just written it down. We ordered ricotta toast and a breakfast sandwich with bacon. It took 40 minutes for the food to come out and when it did they forgot the bacon. And my toast was cold. We asked the other bartender about the bacon and the long wait time, and he was very rude. We said, we ordered 40 minutes ago and no one came back to check on us. The girl who waited on us was standing behind the bar, staring at us, writing in a notebook and never acknowledged us after that. The other male bartender was rude when we asked how much longer our order would take he said "You did not order 40 minutes ago!!" I said, we did. Upon walking into the restaurant, we took several pictures and they were time stamped. The male bartender went over to the POS system to check our order. We stated that we did order bacon 40 minutes prior. It had never been put in so he added it to our order. We waited for the bacon; it didn't come out for several minutes. While we were waiting, I asked for the manager and the male bartender snapped back at me and said "Why?" He didn't want to get her, and I insisted I speak to her because I wanted to let someone about this experience. He walked away from the bar, threw his hands up and was yelling. After that he didn't speak to us either. I find it shocking that there are people like this who don't care about food, service or helping customers at all. I wouldn't go back here because it was very strange, and I've never had an experience with two servers who were so rude and aloof.

It says on one of their signs "late night bites" but they might've done away with that. I got the tomato & mozzarella panini ($14.) The bread has rosemary baked into it. It was easy to eat - not "too large" or hard bread that roughs up the roof of your mouth. It's the perfect insides to bread ratio. My bf got the chicken salad panini ($15) and THAT was amazing. The berries give it a sweet flavor. He was scooping what fell out of the sandwich with the chips it was that good. I recommend the Honey Boo cocktail if you like sweet flavors and bourbon. The Spicy Bee (I think that was it) was the perfect balance of pepper and orange. There's black & white movies playing on a screen in the corner which had me fascinated and I wish I knew what movie it was. The lighting is low and the decor makes you feel you might be sitting in a speakeasy. 2 drinks and 2 paninis came out to ~ $80 with tip, so it is pricey but it's worth it.
