I saw some mixed reviews for Teak before we went, and after reading through quite a few of them, my best guess was that most of the complaints were tied to a nightclub-type vibe on a possible rooftop bar rather than the restaurant itself. We showed up hoping to snag bar seats, but it was busy and honestly a little warm for my liking. I know, I know, after the winter we've had, I have absolutely no right to complain. Either way, we ended up in an outside room with all the windows open to the patio and it was genuinely perfect. Our server Julie was fantastic. Attentive in all the right ways, including the kind of attentive where she noticed us glancing around and came over to check on us. We weren't actually looking for anything; we were just scoping out the space. Still, I appreciated the hustle. My partner ordered a gin martini, extra dirty; I went with a prosecco. Both came out cold and fast. We ordered edamame, lotus buns, the pear and crispy goat cheese salad, and the aburi roll. The edamame were solid. Nice pop of lime, though I could have used a heavier hand with the salt. The lotus buns were a revelation. Two pillowy bao buns, each stuffed with a generous slab of slow roasted pork belly glazed in hoisin, with a pickled cucumber tucked in alongside it. I'd never had anything quite like them, and the balance was what got me: the brine and snap of the pickle cutting right through the sweetness of that glaze. Really well thought out. The aburi roll was tasty; nothing jumped out as the star moment, but everything played nicely together and it went down easy. And then there was the salad. Oh, the salad. I could eat that salad every single day of the week. Crispy fried goat cheese medallions on a salad is basically a guaranteed order for me, so that's what reeled me in initially. But once I actually started eating it, I forgot all about the goat cheese. Mixed greens, thin pear slices, halved grapes, spiced pecan halves, all dressed in a honey mustard vinaigrette that was genuinely outstanding. I've already started thinking about how to recreate it at home, which is the highest compliment I can give a salad. Teak delivered across the board. As we celebrated the closing of summer and headed toward fall, we wanted to go somewhere that had rooftop seating and small hot plates so we could taste everything. Since we were in Red Bank, we decided on Teak Restaurant, and I'm so glad we did. The entrance features a majestic sitting Buddha, and the interior is lively with music playing and drinks flowing at the bar. As we headed up the staircase, it led us to the rooftop, where you'll find another ginormous bar and tables both inside and leading to the outside, where you can dine or simply have some drinks. We ordered edamame dumplings, pork potstickers, michi, lotus buns, crispy rock shrimp, Korean BBQ tacos, fried oysters, and short rib empanadas, paired with a berry aperitivo spritz mocktail for me. My husband had a root beer old-fashioned and an IPA. My personal favorites were the edamame dumplings, fried oysters, lotus buns, and their berry spritz mocktail. This past weekend I hosted my daughter's 16th birthday party at Teak and I was more than impressed with the whole experience. To start after sending an online request for the group I received a call from Yessika the event coordinator with all of the details.; I was impressed that i got an actual call., actually the other places I contacted only emailed me back. Teak is where my daughter chose among other places and I was happy because I felt like their group dining prices were pretty fair. The day of the party all of the guests got to choose their main entree from four choices ., very nice.. all of the girls really enjoyed the dinner so much and I personally loved everything I had ., I sat at a close by table and also ordered sushi and oysters , so good! I recently visited Teak with a friend for their Thursday happy hour on the rooftop. Unfortunately, it was a bit rainy that day, so no one was on the outside part of the rooftop. The upstairs bar was packed! However, we found some seats. I ended up ordering the Cherry Smash as my drink and got the crab croquettes and cheesesteak bar buns. Both were delicious, especially the crab croquettes. I was still a bit hungry, so I ordered the pineapple fried rice with shrimp. My friend and I split it. We enjoyed it as well. I love Asian food, so Teak was definitely up my alley. This restaurant has been around for quite a while and this was my first time checking it out. That to me is NYC prices. Yes, the spicy margarita was a great drink but def not worth the $16. The bartenders were very nice. Service was good and relatively prompt, especially with providing a bottle of water. I was happily surprised with the number of creative Asian fusion dishes and really wanted to try a variety! We started off with the Edamame dumplings, which had a nice light sauce and was actually good although I would have preferred the pork dumplings, but my guest wanted to try it. Next, we moved on to the lobster and crab ceviche, which was just right and not too tangy. Just wish they had slightly more than a hint of cilantro, but nonetheless, there was ample portions of seafood and a bed of lettuce. We also had a couple of sushi rolls and definitely would recommend the sunshine roll. Good balance of fish to rice ratio. Finally, I originally thought that they had made a mistake since my seafood Ramen came as a noodle dish with no broth. I was wondering why the menu description explained that it came with the Tom Yum sauce, which I had asked to put on the side, but they instead made it a lighter portion which I appreciated. It actually had the texture of a pad Thai dish instead, which was also very good and came with large portions of shrimp and other seafood. They definitely had the flavor of French onion but was not a tradition soup dumpling I thought it would be. More a wonton with the flavors of French onion soup. Overall, the food and drinks here were yummy. My drink, the guava punch, had a nice subtle heat to it. The poke bowl was huge and came with substantial amount of fish. My friend got the pineapple fried rice and that too had a big portion. The moody ambiance is a vibe, and they have happy hour deals! The signature rolls have always been fantastic. This time around, my forbidden black and sunshine rolls were delicious (as expected). My friend ordered the pork lotus buns (which she loved) & the Redbank roll. The redbank roll was foul - something was definitely off in the sushi (I tried a piece myself). I went to Teak expecting to order sushi like everyone else in my party, but decided to order the Teak Pad Thai instead. It was so good that I described it to my husband as "mind-blowing"! It was the best Pad Thai I've ever had, by far. I would eat it every day if I could. The others in my party loved their sushi, but I think I had the best meal. I was in the area for a YELP event and I wanted to grab a quick bite to eat before I headed home. TEAK was recommended by a coworker so I decided to go sit at the bar and try them out. Apparently they have Happy Hour at the upstairs bar. I opt out since I wasn't drinking for the month of January so I just sat downstairs. I ordered the Pineapple Fried rice w/chicken and it was delicious. There's plenty other dishes on the menu that I would love to try so yes I will be returning in the future. Next time I think I may even go upstairs for Happy Hour. The restaurant was definitely giving me date night vibes so I can't wait to go back with babe. 4.5 stars for the food (korean BBQ tacos and salmon entree). The restaurant itself is big and nicely decorated. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. Our table tried the edamame (sprinkled with lime juice), korean BBQ tacos, spring rolls (very light and crispy), spicy kani salad and the double agent roll as starters. Everyone loved each and would definitely get them again. For entrees we ordered the chilean seabass, lo mein, short rib and salmon. Again everyone really enjoyed each dish. I had the salmon and loved it. It was such an incredible dish as everything on the plate was delicious and went well together. The salmon was cooked perfectly (crispy skin on the bottom) and served with an herb sauce over corn puree (not sweet which I appreciated), grilled vegetables, heirloom tomatoes and topped with arugula. My only extremely minor complaint is that the arugula was a bit too salty but honestly it did not detract at all from how much I enjoyed the dish. The portions were great and I think the prices are fair for the serving and quality. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and specifically the salmon! read more

DARIANN finally walks over and goes "why should I service you when You haven't tipped yet".with the most nastiest attitude. I replied back and said who asks for a tip?! biggiest term off.. she than replied back and said " I don't work for free" your right HUNNY because TEAK pays you. Not me. The last time checked, a tip is an option not a demand. I also dont have to tip you right away. I prefer to TIP when all said and DONE. Just like running a tab, you don't get it till the end. She then walked away and blew me a kiss and told me to go fuck myself basically. Then the male got involved and told us to "fuck off and go back to Staten Island" (I'm not even from there but okayyyyy). They refused us. When I asked I wanted to speak to the manger. The male said go "go fucking find him". They tried to get us kicked out with security and but jokes on them because they didn't & they agreed with us! We asked the security for the manger and was able to show us who the manager was. The manager Nico was a reasonable guy but has no b*lls and as a manager he should have told them to service our drinks but instead because it was SO dead they decided to close it down And stick to there workers. What happen to customers are right? like I said he was a reasonable guy because he said the next time you come back round on me. But truthfully Nico, I won't be back there. I love Teak!! Beautiful, classy restaurant in the heart of downtown red Bank! Great atmosphere, vibe, bar, food and service! I'm not sure where to start but this restaurant is gorgeous inside! And they have a beautiful outdoor garden as well where you can eat. It's two stories you step inside on the ground floor and it's just simply huge inside! Extremely beautifully decorated! Upstairs is lots of fun too they have an incredibly gorgeous bar upstairs and more dinner tables! I like sitting upstairs near the bar but probably most people would rather sit downstairs. You can't lose here, the food is incredible! And they have a great selection of beers and wine. I highly recommend the pork dumpling appetizer it was delicious and just what you would hope for from this type of restaurant. We decided to order sushi that evening and it was a great idea! Delicious in every way, very fresh snd generous portions. It's also got lots of younger patrons snd it's located right across the street from Red Tank Brewing. Another Fabulous Sunday Dinner!!! Beautiful Decor, Great Ambiance and Delicious Food!!! Upon arrival we were greeted by our hostess who seated us right away in a cozy corner of the restaurant. Our party of 9 was comfortable with ample elbow room. Light music was playing in the background allowing us to able to speak in our normal voices. The apps, let's talk about the "KFC", chicken was cooked to perfection, that bbq sauce was superb; in a blink of an eye 6 orders of wings only showed signs of the bones. The other apps were tasty too but nothing compared to those wings. Our entree arrived about 15 mins later which was great, allowing us to drink and settle down from the 1st meal. Dinner was delicious. Portion sizes allowed for left overs LOL. My party had no complaints on dinner and from what I could tell there was only smiles at the table. I personally loved my salmon with sautéed brussel sprouts. My salmon was cooked to perfection; medium, veggies had great texture and flavor.
