I could have the Black Forest roll 4 days a week. It's a delicious mix of salmon, yellowtail, tuna, avocado and chips. I've been trying their lunch options and the combos are very solid. I come here many times a week and that's likely not changing.

The sushi here is addictive. The staff are so friendly and the service is quick for takeout. We frequent here often and the dining area is BYOB if you choose to dine in. Their hibachi section is also phenomenal. Really great for date night, families or birthday parties/special occasions. They take reservations. Kanji is our absolute favorite and have been coming here over a decade.

Kanji continues to be our local go-to for Japanese/Asian cuisine. We never need a reservation and always get consistently delicious food. Casual atmosphere and friendly service. Worth a visit.

I came here on a Tuesday night to catch with a friend over dinner at around 6:00. There were only a few other parties. You can choose between hibachi and a normal table. We decided just on a table and our waitress took our drinks and order right away. We went all out and got the love boat plus the lobster rock and roll. The lobster sushi I couldn't really taste the lobster inside but they do give you a whole tail of meat separately. The fish sashimi on the boat tasted very fresh and was super tender, did not taste fishy at all. The octopus and clam sashimi was crunchy and had a nice bounce. I wasn't to crazy about the rolls on the boat. However, good quality sushi for the price.

Very standard hibachi, and who doesn't love a big portion of freshly fried rice and grilled meat? But, this was a BYO place which meant no fancy fun drinks - and be warned - the liquor store that others review as being next door is CLOSED. But I did want to say that I had one of the BEST sushi rolls I've ever had at Kanji, so make sure to add it to your order. It's the Pink Angel ($13) - shrimp tempura and avocado topped with crab stick and a strawberry sauce drizzle. AWESOME!

Quality sushi and a creative menu. The restaurant is large, open and modern and not at all what you expect to find in a strip mall. The menu is Asian fusion/sushi so there is pretty much something everyone will enjoy here. Came by for lunch with my husband. He ordered some a la carte sashimi and I ordered a couple of their specialty rolls. We also shared the yellowtail & jalapeño app. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. Service was excellent here (very attentive). Definitely go if you're in the area, you won't be disappointed.

First, I love this option when they allow you to order what you want rather than choosing from premade sushi that every diner breathes on. The sushi was excellent, very fresh and prepared nicely although they are heavy handed on the rice and the avocados weren't quite ripe. The spicy tuna and spicy salmon were made well with crunch as ordered. I was especially impressed with their prepared food, the gyoza, shumai, lo mein, teriyaki steak, and fried rice were all top of the line Asian restaurant quality. If ordering the teriyaki I would recommend the sauce on the side as it overpowered the beef. Service was fine, it was a slow rainy night and the food came out quickly. The restaurant is decorated nicely and is BYOB. One star off....soft drinks and ice cream not included...for $37 I think they should include it. The suggested tip calculation is based on food and tax which is not right either.... I tip 20 percent regardless but you shouldn't suggest that I tip on tax. I will go back as the food was terrific.

Menu is mostly standard sushi with some interesting special rolls, along with a couple Chinese food offerings. Sushi for most part was good, not excellent but good. Sashimi Tuna was fresh tasting. Scallion pancake disgusting. I'd stay away from Chinese offerings based on that alone. Warnings are placed on table if you don't finish food I think it's $1 per plate, $8/lb for Chinese food charged If not eaten , or maybe that was for all food. Seems harsh. When I started the pancake was disgusting they didn't bother to take it away. So can use your imagination what we did with it. Would we go back? Possibly now that we know it's also BYOB, liquor store is in the plaza.

I saw some mixed reviews for Teak before we went, and after reading through quite a few of them, my…read morebest guess was that most of the complaints were tied to a nightclub-type vibe on a possible rooftop bar rather than the restaurant itself. We showed up hoping to snag bar seats, but it was busy and honestly a little warm for my liking. I know, I know, after the winter we've had, I have absolutely no right to complain. Either way, we ended up in an outside room with all the windows open to the patio and it was genuinely perfect. Our server Julie was fantastic. Attentive in all the right ways, including the kind of attentive where she noticed us glancing around and came over to check on us. We weren't actually looking for anything; we were just scoping out the space. Still, I appreciated the hustle. My partner ordered a gin martini, extra dirty; I went with a prosecco. Both came out cold and fast. We ordered edamame, lotus buns, the pear and crispy goat cheese salad, and the aburi roll. The edamame were solid. Nice pop of lime, though I could have used a heavier hand with the salt. The lotus buns were a revelation. Two pillowy bao buns, each stuffed with a generous slab of slow roasted pork belly glazed in hoisin, with a pickled cucumber tucked in alongside it. I'd never had anything quite like them, and the balance was what got me: the brine and snap of the pickle cutting right through the sweetness of that glaze. Really well thought out. The aburi roll was tasty; nothing jumped out as the star moment, but everything played nicely together and it went down easy. And then there was the salad. Oh, the salad. I could eat that salad every single day of the week. Crispy fried goat cheese medallions on a salad is basically a guaranteed order for me, so that's what reeled me in initially. But once I actually started eating it, I forgot all about the goat cheese. Mixed greens, thin pear slices, halved grapes, spiced pecan halves, all dressed in a honey mustard vinaigrette that was genuinely outstanding. I've already started thinking about how to recreate it at home, which is the highest compliment I can give a salad. Teak delivered across the board. Don't let the rooftop reviews scare you off from the restaurant itself.

THE FOOD * Chef's Sashimi Bowl: Bright and tasty with slices of tuna, yellowtail, and salmon. It came professionally plated with vegetable garnishes and a few dried sweet potato and garlic chips for texture. * Oysters & Caviar: The ice-cold oysters topped with black caviar were incredibly fresh. The yuzu/ponzu sauce and sliced green onions added great flavor. Served at the perfect temperature. * Kale Caesar Salad: The surprise here was the spicy breadcrumbs, which made the dish when their spice and crunch came in alongside the creamy dressing and kale. * Tip: I would order the dressing on the side next time, and avoid pairing this with the French Onion Soup Dumplings (too many creamy/heavy components for one meal). * French Onion Dumplings: An okay dish with nice gooey cheese, but a fairly flat overall flavor profile. * Roasted Salmon: Served with a tasty, crisp crust, but it was a bit dry on the inside. It came with nice stir-fried vegetables and slightly underdone coconut rice. THE WINE * A nice selection of wines by the glass. We tried a spread of Cabernet Sauvignon, Bordeaux, and Pinot Noir. THE SERVICE & ATMOSPHERE * Special thanks to Rigo (the sushi chef). He served up amazing sashimi and clearly draws on his 20+ years of experience at TEAK. He was incredibly personable, clearly enjoys his craft, and his presentation was excellent! * Thank you to Olivia, a new bartender upstairs, for her attentive and professional service! Wishing you the best in picking up those great line dance routines. IMPORTANT LOGISTICS Ordering: Note that you must order all your dishes at one time. OVERALL A memorable Asian fusion restaurant with an extensive upstairs dance floor and a bar on each level. Great for a casual date night or a lively evening out on the town.

This place consistently knocks it out of the park with service, food, and atmosphere. Ryan behind the bar is a standout. He treats us like regulars from day one--always greeting us with a smile and delivering truly top-tier service. He's a big part of what makes the whole experience feel so warm and welcoming. And the food? Never the same experience twice in the best way possible. The menu and specials are always evolving, always leveling up, and it keeps things exciting every time we come back. Not once have we been disappointed. Everyone can have an off night--but this place seems to have cracked the code on consistency and excellence. Here for Mother's Day…read more This place is a disaster. I came here once and sat at the bar with a client, had a glass of wine and the steak sandwich and it was great. This time, not so good. I know the business partners are in some lawsuit about real estate and golf and such. Tried to valet. Then said, he you can park yourself. They said it's ok, we aren't here that long anyway. Said ok. Walked inside, wouldn't let my parents sit down if the full party wasn't here. Thought that was weird as this place is less than half empty yet all reservations are booked. Sat down and the staff started moving fake bushes around, like a wall to separate us from another party, it was a comedy of errors I have never experienced Took forever to get drinks with super weak pours. Lots of people walking around doing nothing with ear pieces in. The music in the dining room sounds like I am in Belmar. Slow service- for way over priced for average food at best. 2nd round came out way late without my glass of wine and when asked can I get another wine, she looked at me like I was the jerk. Food came out late and was cold. This place is gone in a year. Beautiful place, doesn't fit around here. Overpriced and average at best. The bar is good but watching the people in the front dining room is bizarre. Lots of people standing around doing nothing but dressed nice. When we checked in it took 3 hostesses to figure out where to sit us in an empty restaurant and all looked confused. How many hostesses does it take to screw in a lightbulb? Bizarre day. Took forever to get dessert. No one is here. Again not sure what is going on but the club music keeps playing with empty tables and more employees than guests. I would have died to go to The Brothers in RB instead of this. The food and service are way better by a million miles.
