We came here after the gym thinking we'd get a quick bite. We didn't realize it was a nice sit down, white table clothe restaurant. So we sat down thinking nothing about it, plus we were the only people there. Place is nice inside - the outside looked deceiving. The menu isn't as vast as we thought. A bit on the pricey side too, but we were hungry so we didn't care. We both order sushi - they were ok, nothing crazy. The decorations on the plate were nice tho. They had some lighted up swan on our plates. This is place ok. Too pricey for ok food. Menu is not as diverse.

Huh. Yelp had said I didn't finish my review. Ah well, now you've got two. I didn't add much to it: My fiancé and I have been dining here at least once a month. The food is delicious, but the price is pretty high for the portion. I'm pretty small and a single roll still left me hangry so I usually order 2 Special Rolls and a side of Gyoza which I share with my fiancé. Lately, I've been hooked on the Naruto Roll. The cucumber wrap is refreshing and a really nice change in palette. My go-to absolute favorite item is the Long Beach Roll (now my fiancé's favorite too). He usually gets the Salmon Teriyaki Dinner, a regular Sushi Roll or Special Roll, and a second order of Gyoza all to himself. That averages $55. So, if you're having a good night... Lol. For Christmas, I treated my fiancé and his parents here and the bill for the four of us, including tax and tip was about $140.

Came here randomly on a Saturday night and we were quickly seated--the restaurant seemed to be a bit empty, which I thought was odd given the time of day and week. Service was quick, and we were presented with our food in good time. The restaurant itself was clean, but a little lackluster, just like any other sushi restaurant in the area. Sushi was okay, nothing memorable. I ordered the Naruto, and while fresh tasting, the accompanying. sauce was overly sweet. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, as I believe there are better sushi places. But if in the area, and craving sushi, might as well.

New sushi house in town, so we had to give it a go this past Saturday 10/29 8pm. 1. Place was packed and a bit loud 2. Sushi is 1 pc per order. This means if you order tuna sushi it's 1 piece, not 2 pieces like you would normally get. 3. Service was ok, had to really look for our server a few times. 4. Prices were ok, but I think that this isn't NY or a fancy area so almost $3.00 for 1 pc of sushi is a stretch. 5. BYOB 6. I'd come back because it was tasty but it wouldn't be a regular thing.

Last night I was looking forward to a nice meal at Nagoya. Having been here maybe four times before and mostly having sushi, I never really tried their cooked items. Tonight I had the beef and shrimp hibachi. I like that they don't have hibachi tables where you are forced to watch a chef perform in front of you. The only advantage to that is your food comes out hot. Four of us decided on the hibachi dinners. All were served with miso soup which was decent and a lack-luster iceberg lettuce only salad. All four of the entrées came out a little better than room temperature. All four? I decide not to send mine back because the beef was already medium well when I asked for medium rare and didn't want it charred any more than it already was. It wasn't too crowded so I saw no reason for cold food. I summoned the manager and told her our food was cold. She apologized citing that it was real busy with takeout orders. I didn't think that was a valid excuse and we politely refused her offering of dessert. She did however take off $15 from our bill. Now this is normally a 4 star restaurant and perhaps it was an off night, so I'm willing to return because their sushi is excellent.

Salmon melted in my mouth and the tuna was fantastic

Horrible service and food. My filet came out raw then 20 minutes later it was charred. I got free ice cream and $30 worth of dog food to go.

In Aldrich Plaza, you will find the culinary realm of Asia welcoming you inside…read more Brand: 5/5 Asian Harbor is a pan-Asian restaurant in Aldrich Plaza that offers Japanese and Thai cuisines. On the outside, it may not look splendid (only because you have not stepped inside). Concerning the interior, you are welcomed with two portraits the moment you walk inside. It gives you an idea about the simple aesthetics that pervades the establishment. You will find many geisha portraits upon the walls. At the corner, you will find a section that directly sells the seafood. Indeed, the unassuming appearance of a restaurant in a shopping plaza gives way to an interior filled with quiet joy. Website: 4/5 It has a basic design, with the theme typically used for restaurants leading you down to the description and a separate page for the menu. However, it had no images accompanying the menu items. Nevertheless, it functions well enough. Wait Time: 5/5 I experienced no interruptions while awaiting my order, which came quickly. Ambiance: 5/5 I do like the blue, twinkly lights upon the upper parts of the wood-paneled walls that gave the establishment a calm, cool vibe, along with the smoothly low volume of the pop music. There is a large circular light at the center of the ceiling, which I presume is turned out at night or during special events. The seats felt comfortable and the booths and the tables had a tolerable space. Be advised that it is authentically Asian in the sense they do not have forks or knives, rather only chopsticks. So, please know how to use them before coming. Food: 5/5 I ordered the Dream Roll, which is a specialty roll consisting of steamed shrimp, avocado, cucumber, and topped with lobster salad, seaweed salad, and honey sauce. I did enjoy the shrimp which gave it a hearty taste along with the avocado, seaweed, and honey sauce. I should forewarn that their wasabi did get pretty zesty, for it was not the diluted store-bought version (and most certainly not pistachio ice cream). Even as I ate half of a sushi roll, it still held its form and did not completely break apart. Clearly, this specialty roll is a dream encapsulated within a roll. I also had a side of water that came free of charge, which I wish more restaurants start doing more for a liquid that takes little effort to acquire. The prevalence of seafood and vegetables managed to help me get a more healthy meal. Service: 5/5 The owner served during a slow time and accommodated me throughout my time there. Worth The Money?: 5/5 The allure of the specialty rolls and the presence of Japanese and Thai food reflects the brand of Asian Harbor perfectly. Food can definitely speak in a universal language through the sensation of taste. What Asian Harbor tells me is that it has a lot to offer Aldrich Plaza. The website I would say does not evoke the aesthetics well, particularly considering how Americans typically know little about China and Japan (and even little about the rest of Asia). It would help to perhaps teach some Japanese or Thai words and history on the site. At no point did the wait for the Dream Roll feel cumbersome when accounting for the ambiance. The soothing atmosphere made it easy for me to wait as I wrote, and it fits the brand quite well. Just as well, the atmosphere let me immerse myself into the Dream Roll, as though the experience itself was a dream. Overall, I could find nothing seriously wrong about Asian Harbor. My experience was too pleasant to give it a low score. Considering the status of the Dream Roll as a Specialty Roll, I expected it to have a high price, which comes with the ingredients packed into it. I would absolutely consider it my first choice for Asian cuisine, and I would say that the price is worth it. Rating: 5/5 Stars I enjoyed my first visit to Asian Harbor, and I hope it is not my last, since I have yet to try more sushi rolls. Recommend To... Anyone looking to familiarize yourself with Japanese and Thai cuisines, but are looking for the challenge of using only chopsticks.

Brand: 5/5 I appreciate the vivacious logo of Ichi Sushi, for the bouncy letters invite the community to the sushi restaurant, and the artsy fish prepares you for what to expect. You will find the simplistic Japanese interior inside, from the paintings to the glass wood tables. I really like the leather-bound menus that the restaurant has. Website: 4/5 The website opens up to an option to order online, along with a gallery of photos of the menu items. While the website maintains a simple design, it does not specifically describe the menu items in the gallery. The menu items only had a few images in the Order Online section. Ambiance: 5/5 The pop music over the radio had the right amount of volume, soft enough to match the minimalistic appearance. The booths and tables had enough space between them despite being a medium-sized establishment. I am not sure if the lights being off are a normal occurrence, but I cannot say that it outweighed my experience with the ambiance. Service: 5/5 The staff was incredibly accommodating, asking if I needed anything else. Wait Time: 5/5 I did not experience any interruptions and the order came within a very short span of time. Food: 5/5 I ordered the Beauty Beast Roll, which consists of tuna, salmon, yellowtail, spicy mayo, avocado, tobiko, and scallion, with a side of wasabi. I will say that nobody makes a spicy sushi roll like Ichi Sushi. The huskiness of the avocado and the fish manage to give the roll a unique taste, while the tobiko, the mayonnaise, and the scallion manage to give it a tangy flavor, while the wasabi brings the zest. The preparation of the dish manages to match the form, since none of the roll slices fell apart, even as I lifted them with my chopsticks. Worth The Money?: 5/5 I have not had a sushi roll since I was 13, and I welcomed it back this time. Apparently, sushi rolls so unique they practically have their own personalities is a tale as old as time for sushi restaurants; and Ichi Sushi managed to succeed. So many unique sushi rolls exist well-worth the wait. I did knock off a star for the website not having enough photos of the menu items, since Americans typically do not familiarize themselves with Japanese cuisine, with the exception of sushi and teriyaki sauce. However, I do not think that it works against the overall experience, since there is always opportunity to try such vibrant dishes. Ichi Sushi thrives in its simplicity pertaining to the ambiance. It reflects the Japanese restaurant in many aspects. Despite the dimmed lights, the ambiance of the establishment during the wait did not feel tedious, especially since I was able to read what I was writing. The website only does so barely, but nothing substantial enough to really entice people to take an interest in Japanese cuisine. I would recommend doing something with the website, such as writing entries about unique Japanese word meanings and which Japanese meals are most popular during different time periods. I did pay up to $20 for the Beauty Beast sushi roll, though it was one of the more exclusive sushi rolls with unique selections known as the Special Raw Rolls. There are cheaper sushi rolls and Japanese courses available. Ultimately, I will say that Ichi Sushi is definitely worth it, and I would absolutely make it my first choice if I am in the mood for Japanese cuisine nearby. Another personal suggestion I have is to keep making new Special Raw Rolls. Rating: 5/5 Stars I am truly grateful to come to Ichi Sushi. Recommend To... Anyone looking to try Japanese cuisine with a unique New Jersey twist. There are options for cooked sushi, but if you would like the traditional sushi, then be my guest. I also recommend to anyone looking for a writing space that can entice you with a unique sushi roll at every time you go.

This new venue is definitely smaller than the original, but maintains a clean minimalist aesthetic. The server could not have been more helpful or accommodating and had a very intimate knowledge of seemingly every item on the menu, including the extensive list of specials. We began with dumplings, calamari salad, and some tuna sushi rolls. The dumplings were perfectly satisfactory and hit the spot just right for when you're craving a dumpling. Dipping sauce complimented them well. Additionally, the sushi rolls had incredibly flavorful and fresh tasting tuna. Lastly, the calamari salad, being the most unique of the bunch, was definitely the star. It had a mild flavor, that was brought out and paired perfectly with their wonderful in-house sauce. My entree was the xo fat noodles and they were nothing short of fantastic. It had wonderful flavor, a good assortment of veggies and proteins, in a very generously sized portion. This may be my new go-to, as I will certainly be making a return visit.
