Perfect comfort food for someone who is craving ramen. Ordered Tonkatsu and Black garlic - both were very good.

Wanted some low-key ramen, nothing fancy, and this place popped up so we went. I really wanted to like this family-owned business but because it was such, the service faltered. It took forever to have our order taken, and while she was taking our order, she took a phone call. She could've brushed it off til we were done but she didn't. We each ordered a sushi roll to start off the meal and we each ordered a bowl of tonkatsu as our mains. My friend's sushi came out first, then our ramen, then my sushi roll. It didn't come out one after the other, they came out pretty spaced out. That annoyed me. The sushi rolls could've come out together. The ramen flavor was ok. The pork was not melt-in-your-mouth like most ramen pork. The egg was perfectly cooked. The noodles had perfect consistency. The broth was ok. The place has some age to it and only has a few tables. We live nearby. Had family visiting and they wanted sushi. We wanted to go Taka but no RSVPs available. So decided to stay local and I figured we could be accommodated as a party of 8 as there are only a half dozen tables. Host gal working here is friendly. Service was quick. A couple mistakes made but no biggy. Rolls are smaller than other places but was good. Specialty rolls seemed smaller too. Presentation is not a priority for them. Overall good was decently good. Friend ordered a hibachi platter and it was huge! Complimentary ice cream was given for diners. Also BYOB here. read more

This is based solely on Ramen. Awful. Worst bowl of ramen I've ever had a restaurant. Came here because my favorite local spot, across the street, is closed on Mondays. Bug mistake. I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen. The broth was just okay, nothing special, and I would say the same of the noodle quality. Here's the bad. They didn't give enough noodles. I get full off a regular pack of ramen and I left here hungry. The chashu was the worst I have ever had by a mile 10X. It was tough, chewy and had too much fat. Chashu should be fall apart tender, not feeling like you bit into a $3 steak. It was almost completely inedible. It also had zero flavor. Service was okay and that, but overall I left very disappointed. In the future I would never come back here. Ippin across the street is so much better and it's not even close. read more

Would highly recommend if you are craving sushi/ ramen in the area. Located in a strip mall, is a deceptively great sushi and ramen spot. I came here with a big party and our food came out quickly and correctly, which was great! The food itself honestly really surprised me. The sushi they had was delicious and fresh. The ramen was also really great as well. The portions were huge and the price was very very cheap. The food was good. They did remove a few items and that was disappointing. They had this appetizer that was salmon chopped on top of pringles. They don't have it!!!! So today's review is mostly on the service. The lady was so not pleasant and seemed to be bothered. Not sure why. They weren't busy. We ordered and asked if the can substitute something. She was like um I don't think so. Then we ordered hot green tea asked for sugar. She said they don't have sugar. So I went to family dollar to get some. Just weird. Anyways after sitting we decided to ask her to ask the chef if he can substitute and by golly he said yes. Just not sure why she didn't just ask him. They need to bring the other lady back. Just stopped here for dinner with my girlfriend. We were craving ramen and saw this new restaurant in town so we figured we'd give it a shot. Small but cute place with relaxing music. The menus were high quality with a variety of sushi, appetizers, ramen, and more. Our server was highly attentive and served us quickly the entire time we where there. We order the ramen and gyoza both of which were delicious. Not to mention, EXCELLENT portion sizes given most places have cut back. Definitely get the bang for your buck. This is a small place nestled in a strip mall, but there's enough room for four booths and some tables. We had our choice of table for our time there between lunch and dinner. Their menu is quite extensive, offering sushi, sashimi, ramen, as well as cooked dishes. Our party of two ordered a chicken katsu and the spicy maki combo (tuna, salmon and yellowtail). My companion was slightly disappointed when she asked to substitute the katsu sauce for teriyaki, but was told they did not have teriyaki. The meals come with miso soup and salad. We enjoyed the miso as it was not as salty as you find in many places. The salad dressing is as good as you'll find anywhere. Before we were done with our soup and salad the main courses were brought out. We understood that it wasn't busy so meals could be prepared quicker, but they could have waited a bit for us to finish. The chicken katsu was nicely fried, but some sliced pieces were not fried as well as the others. It wasn't raw or anything, just inconsistent. My spicy maki combo was nicely plated. It tasted good, but I could have used it spicier. We took a fried banana with green tea ice cream home and they separated the ice cream from the heated banana. We did enjoy the dessert. We might be back in the area and I would like to sample the sashimi next time to get a taste of the fish without the sushi roll processing. read more

It's been a few months since we ordered from Usagi so we decided on some takeout. While ordering I was informed that they have a new chef. Needless to say I was really worried that they might have messed up a good thing. Believe it or not it's only gotten better!! The sushi and sashimi were still buttery soft and the rice delicious. The only noticeable difference is that it looks like the rolls have gotten bigger! Nice touch when all other sushi places are thinning out the rolls or packing them with rice. By the way, Need to recommend the Sushi Pizza! It was also nice to see that the restaurant's tables were full and they had a lot of takeout orders. At first glance this place doesn't seem like the greatest sushi spot, it looks and feels like your regular local Chinese food spot. However, once you're in, the staff is beyond friendly making you feel at home despite never being there before. As for the food, the sushi was great, no complaints we had an assortment of rolls all of which were delicious, even our 4 year old who's incredibly picky liked it, the gyoza and calamari were delicious and we got free icecram and spicy edamame!!! I redownloaded the Yelp app just to leave this review. The sushi was SO good and fresh. I wasn't able to leave a tip this time and I felt so awful but I will definitely be going back and tipping double! The people working there are so attentive, kind, knowledgeable and helpful in choosing something off the menu. The prices are affordable and the lunch specials are a STEAL. This is a small business that just opened up a while back and definitely deserves the recognition for their delicious food and immaculate service.
