We ordered from the menu we were given, and when the check came, every item was 20-ish% more in price than was listed. When we mentioned this, Nonchalent Waitress said that the prices were increased. She said there would be new menus soon. I said, "It's not right, you know?" and Nonchalent just looked at me. Solution: Wait until new menus arrive before raising prices; notify customers beforehand; or hand-write new prices if you can't get it together. I'm tempted to go back b/c the food is so good, but with Nonchalent Waitress's dismissiveness, I don't want to give them my extra 20%. I'm sure their costs are rising - but so are mine. Asahi is a solid sushi place in the area. The prices are reasonable and the lady at the hostess stand was very friendly. The fish was very fresh and all the rolls were delicious. The Black Jack Roll was good but in my opinion the wasabi Mayo was a bit strong with the spicy Mayo on there as well. But overall great take out meal. Spider roll and Maki combo were phenomenal. Saturday evening 6/4/22 I placed an order with them on Grubhub. I wouldn't consider myself a regular, but I do place a to-go order frequently. How they would know this, is that I always ask for sushi rolls to be cut into 8 pcs. (I like to share with my young niece and her mouth is small, lol) And every single time I order, I always put in instructions to skip the soy sauce, mentioning that I have plenty at home (this also includes my sis's house when I'm ordering from there). When I'm at home, I have my own chopsticks, so I tell them to skip them also. (When at sis's, we need chopsticks.) I'm trying to help small businesses to save on costs. ..... I mean why get this stuff when I already have it? There is also an option to ask for utensils and napkins, which I never, ever ask for. Now, if I add an order of dumplings, I always ask for extra gyoza sauce. I have never, ever, ever been charged for this minor addition, assuming it's because I asked them to leave out the soy sauce? or maybe not, who really knows? So now, back to my to-go order this past Saturday, 6/4/22. I ordered a few rolls and had mentioned to skip the soy sauce, that I had it at home. I asked for chopsticks for 2 people. I also placed an order of dumplings, but I forgot to ask for extra gyoza sauce. I get there to pick it up, with my usual cash tip in my pocket. I ask for the extra gyoza sauce. A young girl with an 'attitude' says to me: "you got 50 cents?"... She wasn't moving until I gave it to her. I gave her a buck, she gave me back 50 cents and THEN went to get the extra sauce. What really irked me is that she comes back with some teeny weeny holder that was less than half full of sauce. (See the pic below, my thumb is there for scale). I then THROW my 50 cents change into the tip jar. With MY attitude, I say: "Here, you go, and btw, I asked that there be NO soy sauce". I will get sushi there again, because it is really, really good, but that 50 cents is gonna cost them a whole lot more because of 'Mz Attitude'. From now on, I'm gonna let them give me all the soy sauce that needs to be with each order. I'm gonna let them give me all the chop sticks that needs to be with each order. I'm gonna also ask for napkins and utensils (an option on the Grubhub site). And, I'm never again leaving a tip for a to-go order. Really, the straw was charging me 50 cents for the size/portion of the gyoza sauce. That's what set me on fire. (see the pic below) read more

Soy sauce (not food service packets but the one they package in small containers) was an issue for our last order. My wife's lips swelled up, my son's throat was itching as was mine. My wife has mild food allergies and my son has severe (tree nuts). I have no allergies at all. We are here many, many, many times with no issue until last night. Got the menu off of beyond menus. Called the place to order and they seemed fine. I started eating my sushi and immediately noticed there was avocado in my sushi. Not only did the roll not list avocado, but it also was not asked for in addition because of an allergy. When I called, the girl argued with me like I asked for avocado. She eventually put her boss on to talk to me and he couldn't speak enough English to resolve this. The same girl got back on the phone and started raising her voice at me and eventually hung up when I pushed back. When I called back to ask for a refund she started in on me again like it was listed. I told her it is not and I wanted a refund. She started yelling at me again so I demanded a full refund and to speak w the manager. She lied and said she was the manager after telling me in the previous phone call that the man I spoke with was the boss. So I asked her if she was the owner and she said yes. So not only does this place lie, but they also messed up my food and then told me that I could not order from there again if I got a refund. Never order from this place ever. UPDATE: This woman legitimately called me back just now and told me to take down my yelp review in order to get my money back. Oh... She also asked me to write a letter. Needed to update. About a year ago we tried again and it was really good! Ordered delivery tonight. Ordered a cpl of rolls. Their sushi rolls are pretty perfect. Rice is light and flavorful. The ratio of ingredients to rice is perfect. They have some really delicious specialty rolls. You cant go wrong! The spicy crab salad is on of my faves. So is the chicken yaki udon meal. We order hibachi sometimes now as well. It is always good, just wasn't in the mood for hibachi today. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 is because I'm not a fan of the habachi shrimp.
